On the flip, Boxcutter & Kab Driver take inspiration from vintage library music and dubbed out disco. '2Time' is all handclaps and insistent synth chords, with two woozy string-led breakdowns. Kab Driver previously worked on KGO001 as part of Kinnego Flux.

Taking the low end tradition of Bristol music and marrying it to a murky, swung 4/4 aesthetic, Kowton returns to Idle Hands after the claustrophobic paranoia of his 'Basic Music Knowledge' / 'Hunger' set. She Don't Jack creeps into life with industrial textures before crisp, rigidclaps and shuffled hits skip energetically around a bassline malevolent in its simplicity. Drunk On Sunday works drum machine grooves from the off, heading down a stripped-bare corridor of pitch-black house. Fearsome bass swells enter the mix while metallic hits bolster the percussion. Fast becoming one of the leading lights in the wilder realms of UK house and techno, Kowton once again demonstrates his arcane production skills with devastating results.

The seventh release on DVA records comes from a young, unknown resident of Manchester named GuGu. Staying true to the DVA style, his two tracks are fine examples of todays hybrid Funky House scene, maintaing the 4 to the floor drum patterns whilst drawing on a wide range influences... and as it suggests in the EP's title, is packed full of Cuban flava. Straight up music designed to make people dance. It wouldn't be right to get a DVA release without a feature from the man himself, Rinse Fm's Grimey Breakfast show host Mr Scratcha DVA. As a slight deviation from the norm - and in a way a return to the styles his earlier production - DVA lays down a heavyweight slice of synth laden half step, defiantely one to pull your dirty face too. Ikonika & Optimum are proud to introduce their highly anticipated new venture: Hum + Buzz Records. This double A side debut release is right at the centre of the current UK crossover, post-genre sound. First up, 'Aqueous Cream' explores a different sound to the one Ikonika delivered on her recent Hyperdub debut album. A dancefloor ready track with smooth sub bass, staccato piano chords, trademark emotive synth-leads, underpinned by tough kicks, sizzling hi-hats and ricochet snares. On side AA, 'Ampersand' marks Ikonika & Optimum's first official collaboration. Layers of synth melodies float above a steady four/four pulse and unpredictable claps. An angular, broken, melodic march at a house tempo.

RAMP continues it's tradition of uncovering new talent with new signing - Bad Autopsy. Little info has been given to us about this young London based talent, but his debut EP speaks volumes, cheekily landing somewhere between Grime & Funky, with shades of Wild Pitch.

Hotflush Recordings presents the follow-up single to George FitzGerald's summer debut 'The Let Down' & 'Weakness'. Due for release in mid-January 2011 on Hotflush Two, this much-touted single is seeing the light of day after its inclusion in Scuba's groundbreaking SUB:STANCE mix compilation on Ostgut Ton earlier this year. Here we see the budding London-based producer reaching into the brighter side of dubstep and garage styles, achieving a mood that is both blissful and emotive. On the flipside, Scuba gives the original mix a churning techno re-flex under his SCB guise.

Whether throwing down techno-informed steppers for Tempa or creating juke-fuelled hysteria around crustaceans for Loefah's Swamp81 imprint, Headhunter (and his Addison Groove alias) always brings a startling level of sophistication to his productions. These two cuts bear the same high standards while also revealing a little more about his sonic palette.'Lost Prophet' surges forth on a rock solid four-to-the-floor propulsion, offset by snappy top end percussion before being swathed in haunting pads and dubby FX.'Chasing Dragons' chimes in on an instantly upbeat tip, pummelling a soca rhythm against an undulating melody. Deep without being downbeat and immaculately crafted, IDLE004 adds ever more breadth to the legacies of Headhunter, Idle Hands and ultimately Bristol music.

With outstanding feedback from the likes of Breakage, A-Track, Sub Focus, N- Type and many more, he is going from strength to strength!

Synkro is no doubt one of the most talented producers out on the Dubstep circuit at the moment and this single here shows us what Synkro is all about. His profile has been blowing up no end recently and has had a release on Med School (Hospital) and has a track signed on D-Bridge's imprint Exit, due for release late on the year. First up is a VIP mix of 'Angels' that was originally released on a white label late 2009. The original was a favorite with the likes of Headhunter and Intra:mental that were both giving the tune regular rotation. The VIP mix here is a more zooped up, 2 step dance floor roller that sounds clean and smooth on the ear. Very impressive stuff! Then 'Good Lovin' on the flip which has been a Synkro favorite of mine for a long time. It's the side of Synkro that is says 'sit back, relax and enjoy'. if you like it nice and mellow, 'Good Lovin' is the one for you!
