Following their first release, which featured four brand new artists, the guys over at Disconnected are back with DSCNTD 002. This time it's a full EP from Chocky, which features a remix from Brooklyn's Krts. The DSCNTD releases resist the modern addiction to genre pigeon-holing, instead they focus on pushing a variety of interesting and emotive sounds.
This five track EP captures the rich and varied musical inspirations of the mysterious man simply know as Chocky. First up is 'Down with Idris', a beautifully, blissed-out slice of electronica. Krts supplies a dusty, broken remix with a deep, creeping progression; these two versions really compliment each other. On the flip you'll find the jazzy 'Can I Mither You', suspenseful but really groovy house music. The newest release on Rwina comes from Krampfhaft from the label's homeland of the Netherlands. With only two releases on Hamburg label Saturate to his name, Krampfhaft Rwina debut marks his highest profile release to date, and the Makin' Magic EP is appropriately, well, big. The Utrecht producer has a synth-heavy sound that's defined more by its impeccable polish and spacious echo chambers than the kind of ultra-compressed grime pyrotechnics or the filigree rhythm programming for the agile rollers proffered by Rwina recently, but the four tracks here retain the sense of colourful mischief that remains Rwina's calling card.

The 8th release on Mindtrick Records will be by the Greek producer and sound engineer Mobthrow. Mobthrow just released his full length self titled debut album on Adnoiseam and is now ready for his first 12inch release which will come out on the 5th of September.

On the A side we're treated to a breaks mix of Defkline and Red Polo's 'Rolling In The Mud' which is sure you get the crowd dancing. Flip it over and you'll find a 145bpm mix that again has been designed to destroy any dancefloor.

This new single features two of the most upfront tracks from King Midas Sound's forthcoming album project 'Without You', featuring re-voiced and re-versioned mutations of their debut album 'Waiting For You'. Side A is a mix of 'Goodbye Girl' by Kuedo aka former Vex'd producer Jamie Teasdale, who drags the original's domestic melodrama through a fatigued waltz of droning synths and stumbling drums. Side AA carries a radical new take on 'Earth A Kill Ya' by Mala from Digital Mystikz. He smothers Kiki's voice and dubs out Roger's lyrics to their most dread components, leaving strands of the original song lost at sea in sub bass and drowning in toxic chords and dusty reverbed drum blasts.

Hotflush Recordings presents the first new Scuba single since 2010's landmark album, Triangulation. Since that release Scuba has concentrated more squarely on deep, epic house and techno via the SCB project, most notably with Loss released earlier this year on Aus Music. That focus extends itself to the lead track of this release, Adrenalin, which must be the most unashamedly dancefloor Scuba track to date, while b-sides Never and Everywhere take the well-documented fascination with melody that pervaded previous Scuba material to a new level.

Benny steps up again on his new imprint High Culture. These riddems have been getting battered on the radio by Mister Jam and Annie Mac. We have heard what else Benny has up his sleeve for this label and trust me, we predict big things for High Culture.
