“From The Pyre“ (dt. „Vom Scheiterhaufen”) ist das hoch antizipierte zweite Studioalbum der wahrscheinlich meist gehypten Newcomer-Band aus UK – The Last Dinner Party. Die fünfköpfige Londoner Band
ging Ende 2024 mit dem Grammy-prämierten Produzenten Markus Dravs (Wolf Alice, Florence & The
Machine, Bjork) ins Studio, um die Arbeit am Nachfolger gefeierten Debütalbums “Prelude to Ecstasy“
aus dem Jahr 2023 aufzunehmen. Auf “From The Pyre“ hört man eine Band, die eine Menge Spaß hat und
sich trotz des unglaublichen Erfolgs ihres Debütalbums nicht unter Druck gesetzt fühlt. Es ist auch der
Sound einer jungen Band, die ihr Songwriting gemeinsam weiterentwickelt hat und durch die lange Zeit auf
Tour zu einer engen Einheit gereift ist. Die Band sagt über das Album: „Dieses Album ist eine Sammlung
von Geschichten und das Konzept des Albums als Mythos verbindet sie miteinander. „The Pyre“ (dt. „der
Scheiterhaufen“) selbst ist ein allegorischer Ort, an dem diese Geschichten ihren Ursprung haben, ein Ort
der Gewalt und Zerstörung, aber auch der Regeneration, der Leidenschaft und des Lichts.“

Miles Kane, gefeierter englischer Rocker und Mitbegründer von The Last Shadow Puppets zusammen mit
Alex Turner von den Arctic Monkeys, veröffentlicht mit Sunlight In The Shadows sein erstes Easy Eye
Sound-Album in Zusammenarbeit mit dem GRAMMY-prämierten Produzenten Dan Auerbach (The Black
Keys). Das Album wurde gemeinsam mit Auerbach, Patrick Carney, Daniel Tashian und Pat McLaughlin geschrieben. Überlagert von üppigen, kreischenden Gitarren und vollgepackt mit Hooks, bewegt sich
das Album auf dem schmalen Grat zwischen rauem, energiegeladenem Rock und entspannten CrooningHymnen, alles mit einer Prise von Miles’ charakteristischer Tremolo-Gitarre und einer ganzen Menge Spaß.
Über die Entstehung von Sunlight In The Shadows sagt Miles: „Alle Wege, die ich in den letzten 20
Jahren gegangen bin, haben hierhergeführt“.

Sie sind ein Mythos, der bis heute ganze Generationen nachfolgender Post-Punk- und Dark Wave-Formationen
inspiriert: Mit ihrem klirrend-kalten Gitarrensound und den ebenso unterkühlten Vocals von Frontfrau Anja
Huwe trugen Xmal Deutschland maßgeblich zur Entwicklung der Schwarzen Subkultur bei. Nachdem das
letzte Album der 1990 aufgelösten Kultband fast dreißig Jahre lang vergriffen war, erscheint „Devils“ nun
als strikt limitierte, ergänzte Bonustrack-Edition in rotem Doppel-Vinyl.
Nachdem der seinerzeit ausschließlich in Deutschland und Kanada veröffentlichte Longplayer in den letzten
drei Dekaden restlos vergriffen war und nur auf Plattenbörsen zu Höchstpreisen gehandelt wurde, erscheint
Xmal Deutschlands lost Album nun als erweiterte 2LP-Version in rotem Vinyl. Neben der Original-Tracklist
enthält „Devils“ eine zweite LP, auf der sich die ebenfalls gesuchten 12“-Versionen der beiden Auskopplungen „Dreamhouse“ und „I‘ll Be Near You“ plus weitere Bonus-Tracks befinden, so z.B. das kongeniale Billy
Bragg-Cover „The Girl In The Iron Mask“. Mit der Neuauflage von „Devils“ wird das Abschiedsalbum von
Xmal Deutschland erstmalig einem globalen Publikum zugänglich gemacht.

Carolina Blues Man ist das Solo-Akustikalbum des Sängers und Gitarristen Pink Anderson. Das Album
erschien ursprünglich 1961 auf dem Prestige-Label Bluesville und zeichnet sich durch seine Mischung aus
Fingerpicking und Strumming aus, mit der er Blues-Standards wie „My Baby Left Me This Morning“ und
„Baby, Please Don’t Go“ auf einzigartige Weise interpretiert. Diese Veröffentlichung wurde bei QRP auf
180-Gramm-Vinyl gepresst und neu (AAA) vom Original remastert, während eine Replik der Tip-On-Hülle
das Paket abrundet.

Das hochgelobte Debütalbum des genreübergreifenden Gitarristen, Sängers und Songwriters Terry Callier
ist wieder auf Vinyl erhältlich. Das Album wurde ursprünglich 1964 für Prestige Records aufgenommen
und enthält Calliers Versionen von Standards wie „Cotton Eyed Joe“ und „900 Miles“. AllMusic bezeichnet
es als Calliers „zeitlosestes und einladendstes“ Album. Es wurde bei QRP auf 180-Gramm-Vinyl gepresst
und neu (AAA) von den Originalbändern remastert, während eine Replik der Tip-On-Hülle das Paket
vervollständigt.

Die Shoegaze-Indie-Rockband Living Hour aus Winnipeg wird im Oktober 2025 ihr neues Album veröffentlichen. Das von Jay Som produzierte Album ,Internal Drone Infinity" zeichnet die Bewegung von Orten und Menschen über die Grenzen des Selbst hinweg nach, die uns zu anderen Menschen machen, und bietet uns die Möglichkeit, uns daran zu erinnern und wiederzufinden, wer wir durch diesen Prozess geworden sind. Chrissie Hynde & Pals kündigen neues Studioalbum an Duets Special Veröffentlichung am 17. Oktober über Parlophone Mit Beiträgen von k.d. lang, Mark Lanegan, Lucinda Williams, Dave Gahan, Cat Power, Rufus Wainwright, Carleen Anderson, Brandon Flowers, Julian Lennon, Debbie Harry, Alan Sparhawk, Shirley Manson und Dan Auerbach. Die gefeierte Musikikone Chrissie Hynde hat ein neues Album unter dem Namen „Chrissie Hynde & Pals” angekündigt, das den Titel „Duets Special” trägt und am 17. Oktober über Parlophone veröffentlicht wird. The first-ever illustrated compendium recounting the seminal underground South London ambient party that surfaced at the axis through which the likes of Ninja Tune, Warp and Rising High flowed. Telepathic Fish shared fertile waters with Megatripolis and The Big Chill, moving the early 90s London back room chill-out space into the kaleidoscopic spotlight.

Documenting the sights and sounds of South London’s seminal Telepathic Fish ambient parties. Hosted by Chantal Passamonte (aka Mira Calix - RIP), David Vallade, Mario Aguera and Kevin Foakes (aka DJ Food) - collectively named Openmind. With the help of Mixmaster Morris (The Irresistible Force) and Matt Black (Coldcut), they put on some of the earliest chill out events in London.

Rooted deep in the heart of the electronic underground they started DJing and decorating house parties or squats with mind-blowing installations and wholly idiosyncratic design, hosting the likes of Aphex Twin, Andrea Parker and Tony Morley (The Leaf Label). Within a year they were playing VIP after shows for the likes of Orbital and illegal New Year’s gatherings at the disused Roundhouse whilst guesting on Coldcut’s Solid Steel radio show on London’s KISS FM.

Whilst collaborations with legendary club nights such as Megatripolis saw them share bills with Autechre, Higher Intelligence Agency, Scanner and Global Communication, they also created their own ambient fanzine - Mindfood – to document the scene evolving around them. A 20-page history of their parties is included in the release, richly illustrated with personal photos, artwork and memorabilia from their adventures between 1992-95. The gatefold sleeve also features their Telepathic Fish logo, mirroring an original T-shirt design they sold in Ambient Soho, a record shop three of the four worked in at different times.

The selections featured here are all personal favourites that were played at the Telepathic Fish parties during the 90s. Picked and arranged by Mario, David and Kevin who combed their collections for key pieces they associate with the time and Chantal’s music tastes. Over a hundred tracks were selected, totalling nearly 11 hours of playing time, before being whittled down to the essentials by the trio, forming a snapshot of their world back in the day.

“Alts ‘n Outs”, einer Zusammenstellung interessanter Session-Outtakes. Der Titel ist eine Anspielung
auf das 1964er Album “In ‘n Out” von Joe Henderson, auf der Scheibe tummelten sich Künstler aus der
Post-Bop- und Hard-Bop-Zeit des Labels, mit Cannonball Adderley (zusammen mit Miles Davis), Grant
Green, Wayne Shorter, Art Blakey, Jimmy Smith und Sonny Clark. Die Tracks waren zwar bereits hier und
da als Bonustracks auf CD-Versionen der jeweiligen Alben veröffentlicht worden, erlebten hier aber ihre
attraktivere LP-Premiere.
Wie zu erwarten war die blaue “Alts ‘n Outs”-LP schnell ausverkauft, deshalb legt Blue Note sie jetzt
in gleicher Qualität, aber in schwarzem Vinyl für alle die neu auf, die beim RSD zu kurz gekommen sind.

HOLLY GOLIGHTLY ist zurück mit ihrem ersten neuen Album seit "Do The Get Along" vor sieben Jahren! "Look Like Trouble" enthält zehn neue Originalsongs in ihrer Mischung aus Pre-Rock-Electric-Blues, Folk-Rock und weniger hektischem Rock'n'Roll, die wieder einmal HOLLYs einzigartige Sicht auf das Leben widerspiegeln und dessen viele Höhen und Tiefen aufzeigen. Eriwahn“ 40. Jubiläum. Schon im Titel des 19. Studioalbums des Panikrockers: eine Anspielung auf den
frei erfundenen Sender Eriwan. In einer Kategorie politischer, teils unmoralischer Witze wird mit diesem
„Sender“ des Sowjetregimes hinter vorgehaltener Hand die Politik und der Alltag in der DDR verarbeitet.
Ein treffender Titel für ein Album, welches vom humorvollen Umgang mit der Ost-West-Teilung lebt. Die
A-Seite des Albums besteht aus Studiotiteln, die B-Seite sind Live-Aufnahmen aus Moskau, wo er anlässlich
der Weltfestspiele der Jugend und Studenten 1985 mehrfach auftrat. Ein heimlicher Triumpf für Lindenberg,
dem nach seinem ersten Konzert in der DDR seine DDR-Tour abgesagt wurde. Das Cover zeigt Udo auf
dem roten Platz, der für das Cover rot eingefärbt wurde, nachdem Lindenberg bei seinem ersten Besuch
enttäuscht war, dass der Platz nicht tatsächlich rot ist. Am 17.10.2025 erscheint die Jubiläumsversion von
„Radio Eriwahn“ in gelb-transparentem Vinyl in einer streng limitierten, handnummerierten Auflage von
nur 1.500 Exemplaren. Um das 40. Jubiläum gebührend zu feiern, wird das Album zudem auch als CD
neu aufgelegt.

If anyone in the reggae circles could be described as having their own sound it would have to be Mr Augustus Pablo, born Horace Swaby 1954 St Andrew Jamaica. He took the humble melodica a wind blown mouth keyboard and made it shine.

His musical journey started one sunny day in 1969. Walking into Herman Chin- loy's Aquarius Records shop and on playing his melodica so impressed its owner that he was taken off to Randy's Studio 17, the very next day to cut his first record 'Iggy Iggy'. But it was his second tune under the guidance of Clive Chin again cut at Randy's, the seminal 'Java ' that put the young Augustus Pablo on the map. Clive Chin continued his work producing Pablo's debut album 'THIS IS AUGUSTUS PABLO' . An instrumental affair on which the neo-mystical ''Far East'' sound synonymous with Pablo's work emerged.

Having worked with most of the top producers of the time,Lee Perry,Keith Hudson, Bunny Lee, Augustus decided to set up his own label "Rockers", named after his brothers sound system. Where many of his tunes would first be heard.The label came to define a new and exciting chapter in reggae history.Even when versioning acknowledged classic Studio One rhythms there was a precious maturity and depth to Pablo's productions that kept him at the top throughout the late 1970s and into the 1980s. His 'King Tubby meets the Rockers Uptown' set which featured some of these rhythms reworked; Swing EasySkanking Easy, Frozen SoulFrozen Dub, stands as one of the true dub classic albums of any reggae education.

East London based quintet IAN bring a sense of jovial camaraderie through their heavy, loud and droning post-rock dirges on debut album 'Come On Everybody, Let’s Do Nothing!' through UK charitable label Human Worth.

IAN (the band) are refreshing newcomers in the UK's heavy underground. The East London based quintet will be releasing their stirring debut album Come On Everybody, Let's Do Nothing! on Vinyl and Digital via independent label Human Worth on October 17th – a labour of love between five old friends and ex-bandmates from Exeter’s fertile early '00s DIY punk scene.

Self-described as "a band that appreciates the peaks and troughs of post-rock as much as the crunch of the riff," IAN's striking debut delivers five dirges that merge earth swallowing riffs with the atmospheres and dynamics of their post-rock heroes, such as Godspeed You! Black Emperor, with the bite and visceral heft of Cult Of Luna and Amenra. Thoughtfully captured by Wayne Adams (Petbrick, Big Lad) at his London based Bear Bites Horse studio, IAN craft slowly mounting riffs, with anguished screams, woven with elegant cello playing, field recordings and earthy timbres. Come On Everybody Let’s Do Nothing!, and the band IAN as a whole, is the culmination of 25 years of musical comradeship and the need to find inspiration in films, noise and the drudgery of middle-aged life.

Rising UK independent label Human Worth have pressed up a limited run of Eco Mix Vinyl, housed in a stunning sleeve designed by guitarist Craig Murray, with a very small batch of Bandcamp Exclusive Signed Prints. 10% of all profits will be donated to charity Mermaids – supporting trans, non-binary and gender-diverse children, young people and their families since 1995.

Latency presents Nexus, the new solo album by virtuoso Iranian percussionist Mohammad Reza Mortazavi, out October 4 on vinyl and digital. Covert art by Jordan Belson.

Mohammad Reza Mortazavi (b. 1979, Iran) is known for his groundbreaking work with the tombak and daf, traditional Persian drums that he has radically redefined through new playing techniques and extended vocabulary. Mortazavi began playing the tombak at the age of six. By nine, he had already outpaced his teacher and won Iran’s national tombak competition - a distinction he would earn six more times. By his early twenties, he was widely regarded as one of the foremost players of the instrument. Since then, his music has continued to evolve, embracing new forms and vocabularies beyond tradition.

Following his acclaimed 2019 release Ritme Jaavdanegi, Nexus marks Mortazavi’s return to Latency with a full-length album recorded entirely in Berlin. The record introduces new elements into his sound: voice, effects, and treatments never before used in his discography. These experiments serve not as departures but as further extensions of his ongoing exploration of rhythm, resonance, and transformation. The album opens with Zendegi (“Life”), a piece inspired by the chant “Woman, Life, Freedom.” Mortazavi broke down its underlying rhythm and used it to build a new compositional structure, offered as a gesture to his homeland and beyond. Nexus refers to a point of connection or intersection, a meeting place where different energies, times, and spaces converge and transform.
