Despite the time between releases, the band bridges the gap with a collection of songs that feel both seasoned and dangerously urgent. Psychedelic Munitions stands as a definitive masterclass in authentic California punk, honoring the legacy of the Gilman Street scene while pushing the boundaries of the genre's aggressive potential. Since forming in 2003, WA has defied easy categorization, the band crafting songs that comfortably draw from a wide swath of rock 'n' roll while retaining punk's ferocity with a hardcore feel. Audiojack and Kevin Knapp return to Crosstown Rebels with their ‘Get It’ EP. Out on 22nd May 2026, the longstanding collaborators serve up a heavyweight two-tracker on Damian Lazarus’ imprint.

Leeds-born, Ibiza-based duo Audiojack reunite with US mainstay Kevin Knapp for their third Crosstown Rebels collaboration together on 22nd May, adding to 2021’s impressive ‘Under Your Skin’ EP and 2017’s ‘Implications’ EP. Having spent two decades at the forefront of the scene, the Gruuv bosses’ blend of house, minimal, and garage influences has landed on labels such as Hot Creations, Solid Grooves, 8bit, and more. Meanwhile, house music stalwart Kevin Knapp continues to push his own chunky and vibrant take on house music via international performances at venues such as fabric, Circo Loco, and Elrow, as well as releases on labels like Cuttin Headz, Repopulate Mars, Desert Hearts, and his own Plump Recordings. Marking their return to Damian Lazarus’ iconic imprint once more, they serve up two punchy cuts that showcase their ability to balance attitude and authority into a house workout.

Title track ‘Get It’ is a rolling floor-focused cut, driven by a tightly wound bassline and rattling cowbells, while a brooding low-end foundation sets the stage for Kevin Knapp’s commanding vocal drops, elevating the cut into a full-throttle peak-time weapon. On the flip, ‘This Frequency’ is an equally potent club tool, built around an unfolding tracking groove and a wobbling melodic synth line, propelled by an electro-tinged bassline that steadily draws listeners further into its spell.

German DJ/producer Butch returns to Rekids with the ‘Official Bump Call’ EP 22nd May 2026. It marks his first release on the label since 2011’s ‘Raw Beats’ two-tracker, followed by a 2018 appearance remixing Basement Jaxx’s ‘Good Luck’. This time, Snatch! Records boss Riva Starr joins for a remix fresh off the back of his ‘Shine A Light’ EP on Radio Slave’s main imprint.

Anders als das 7 Jahre zurückliegende Album Hill West, das sehr zurückhaltend produziert war, gibt es auf dem neuen Album Alchemy von Todd Thibaud kaum leise, nachdenkliche, akustische Americana-Töne, sondern es ist - ganz im Gegenteil - lauter, voll elektrischer Gitarrenrock mit einer dementsprechend ausgerüsteten 5-Mann-Combo aufgenommen! Mit seinem lauten, dynamischen Sound, den süffigen Gitarrenläufen und rockigen Bandarrangements ist das Musik mit einem klaren Pop/Rock-Auftrag und einem erstklassigen Mix zwischen Westcoast, Heartland & Prairie Rock auf Basis von handfestem Singer/Songwritertum und melodieseligem Indie Roots/Guitar Pop, und so besitzt Alchemy die Grundtugenden all der Heartbreakers, Wallflowers, Jayhawks, BoDeans und Gin Blossoms mit einer ordentlichen Prise Springsteen/Mellencamp/Hiatt & Co. Aber das Endergebnis trägt natürlich die deutliche Handschrift von Todd Thibaud! Alchemy kommt mit geschmackvollem Artwork und komplett mit allen wichtigen Credits und sämtlichen Texten. Weiher klang, eines der eigenständigsten Erfolgsmodelle der deutschen Poplandschaft gebaut. Der 27-
Jährige aus Büchelkühn bei Schwandorf verbindet HipHop, Pop und modernen Schlager zu einem Sound,
der genauso drückt wie er mitsingtauglich ist, genauso größenwahnsinnig wie bodenständig und genauso
laut wie herzlich. Oder, wie TREAM selbst es sagt: »Meine Musik klingt nach Leben«. Genau das ist auch
die Überschrift über seinem neuen Album »STAMMTISCHPAROLEN«.
Dass TREAM längst mehr ist als ein Phänomen mit Kultstatus, zeigt sein Weg der letzten Jahre ziemlich
eindeutig. Nach der restlos ausverkauften »Biergarnitour 2024«, einer Arena-Tour 2025 mit über 130.000
verkauften Tickets und drei Abenden hintereinander in der Münchner Olympiahalle geht es im Sommer
2026 auf die nächste Stufe: die erste große Open-Air-Tour. Dazu kommt in diesem Jahr seine Teilnahme
bei »Sing meinen Song – Das Tauschkonzert«. Das alles wirkt bei TREAM nicht wie der glattgebügelte
Aufstieg eines Künstlers, der sich für den Mainstream passend gemacht hat, sondern eher wie das konsequente Durchziehen einer eigenen Vision.
Genau deshalb passt auch der Albumtitel so gut. »STAMMTISCHPAROLEN« ist nicht politisch gemeint,
sondern ein selbstbewusstes Etikett für 15 Songs, die TREAMs eigenes Lebensgefühl bündeln: Provokation,
Herz, Heimweg, Heimweh, Abriss, Eskalation, Freundschaft, Sehnsucht und ein Humor, der nur funktioniert, wenn einer weiß, wo er herkommt. Das Album spielt mit bayerischen Bildern, ohne darin stecken zu
bleiben, und macht aus Klischees Gegenwart.
Schon der Opener »BAYERN GO HIGH (INTRO)« macht klar, dass hier niemand langsam anlaufen will:
808s drücken, Hörner dröhnen, irgendwo zwischen US-Rap-Sound und bayerischer Folklore wird sofort der
Claim abgesteckt. »DIE KENN ICH NICHT« zieht als vergnügter Spießrutenlauf weiter, »SAUNAKONTAKT« erzählt mit Uptempo-Beats den Wahnsinn einer Begegnung, und »HASENJAGD« liefert eine
Hymne, die klingt, als würde die Nacht schon beim Intro eskalieren.
Auch in den Kollabos zeigt sich die Erweiterung seiner Welt: »EISENBAHN« mit Bausa, »APRES SKI«
mit Gzuz oder »K2« feat. Blümchen verbinden scheinbar Gegensätzliches und funktionieren genau deshalb.
Dass »STAMMTISCHPAROLEN« mehr kann als Abriss, zeigen die ruhigeren Momente: »WUNSCH FREI«
erzählt von den Schattenseiten eines Lebens, das von außen nach Dauerparty aussieht, »99 LUFTBALLONS« ist ein Lovesong, während »PSYCHO« und »ALLERLETZTE FAHRT« die Platte in eine nachden-klichere Richtung ziehen.
Gerade darin liegt die Stärke des Albums: Es macht aus Bayern kein Postkartenmotiv und aus TREAM
keine Kunstfigur, sondern zeigt einen Künstler, der Wirtshaus, Wahnsinn und Weltoffenheit gleichzeitig

Celebrating 30 years of the legendary label, we pick legendary bombs and unreleased gems from Black Vinyl Records rich catalogue. From its inception back in 1996 Black Vinyl Records has always been a label for the serious DJs. Tony Humphries, Paul Trouble Anderson, Ricky Morrison, Justin Berkman, David Morales, Bobby & Steve and most serious Underground DJ’s supported the original vinyl release of Kerri Chandler’s early masterpiece ‘My Old Friend Alan’, dedicated to label founder Alan Russell, and it gained many more supporters following its recent digital re-Master. The David Harness remix of Tedd Patterson’s ‘Roots’ appears on vinyl for the first time here and was featured in no less than 25 Traxsource DJ charts after it’s digital release in 2022, including luminaries such as DJ Pope, Quentin Harris, Kevin Yost, Charles Dockins, and many more. The vocal mix of ‘Fever Tension’ by Fresh & Low has always been a sought after gem, only ever appearing on a ‘Re:Cuts’ release in early noughties, and ‘Rising Into Joy’ by Arnold Jarvis was championed by Danny Rampling, Paul Trouble Anderson, Andy Ward, Deli G and all the 'heads' and is the definition of a Soulful House Classic.

Mit “Birth of the Cool” schuf Miles Davis eines der stilbildenden Werke des Jazz. An der Einspielung des

Cyanide Pills veröffentlichten 2009 ihre erste 7"-Single ,Break It Up", gefolgt von weiteren 14 fantastischen 45ern, zuletzt eine Split-Single mit den Schweizer Nasty Rumours Anfang letzten Jahres. This tidy joint release between Future Rootz and Luchando Music compiles rare recordings from 1970s and 80s Cuba, all sourced from private archives and reel-to-reel tapes. This is the sort of selection to get serious diggers hot under the collar as it explores funk-driven arrangements, jazz-informed horn sections and rhythm-led compositions contoured with Afro-Cuban percussion. There is plenty of tape saturation and analogue noise present throughout that reinforces the archival origins of the music and instrumentation centres on brass, keys and layered percussion, with grooves built from syncopated patterns and live ensembles. Alongside the music, restored credits and contextual research foreground the musicians and recording histories behind these previously unavailable works. Do not sleep on this one.

Zeitgleich mit der Fußball-Weltmeisterschaft 2026 veröffentlicht das Label 4AD eine besondere Double-A-Side-7-Inch-Single mit zwei alternativen WM-Hymnen von Air Miami und Colourbox. Die Single trägt den Titel "Complicated Opposition". Das Artwork stammt von Chris Bigg und verwendet Fotografien von The Douglas Brothers. Der Song "World Cup Fever" von Air Miami erschien ursprünglich 1995 auf dem Album "Me. Me. Me.". Er entstand im Sommer 1994, als Mark Robinson mit Blast Off Country Style auf Tour war - während die USA erstmals Gastgeber der Fußball-WM waren. Robinson erinnerte sich, dass er sich damals Fußballschuhe und grellorange Trainer-Shorts aus einem Second-Hand-Laden kaufte. Seine Bandkollegen nannten ihn daraufhin "Coach". Bei einem Konzert in North Carolina meinte Esther Oliver zu ihm: "Du hast World-Cup-Fieber" - eine Bemerkung, die schließlich den Song inspirierte. Der Titel wurde von Pete Weiss neu gemastert. Der zweite Track, "The Official Colourbox World Cup Theme", erschien ursprünglich 1986 als Bonustrack einer CD-Neuauflage des Debüt-Mini-Albums von Colourbox. Das Stück war als Fußball-Thema gedacht und wurde sogar für die BBC-Sendung während der 1986 FIFA World Cup in Betracht gezogen, jedoch letztlich nicht verwendet. Forged from the fire of internal struggles, Loraine James was wrestling with confidence and a desire for change when she embarked on “Detached From The Rest Of You”. A guiding hand came through producing 2025's “Clandestine” EP with singer Anysia Kym, which gave her the experience of a more 'pop' setting and the tools and insight to work her instrumentals into more conventional shapes; a shift from club driven sounds and winding instrumentals into more precise song forms.


Loraine’s production is stripped to the bone, soundscapes of clicks and glitches inspired by Aoki Takamasa, Ryoji Ikeda, and the early-00s Clicks & Cuts school. Here, often with not much more than sparse keyboard chords to fill in with subtle colouring, she uses the space around the sounds and vocals to draw the listener in to a succinct and direct album, her most confident yet.


Guest contributors include vocalist Sydney Spann on “In a Rut”, Alan Sparkhawk (Low) on downcast anthem “Peak Again”, Miho Hatori (Cibo Matto) on “Flatline”, Anysia Kim on “Score”, and Tirzah on “Habits and Patterns”. Finally her old spar, the rapper Le3 bLACK returns to spit fire with the jazz-indebted track “Ending Us All” with Fyn Dobson backing on tumbling drums.

Dave Wallace is one third of Aquasky, as well as a founding member of Mad Dog and Fugitive. He also released his own EP’s on Moving Shadow and R&S in the 90’s and more recently an EP on TeeBee’s Subtitles label as well as a return to the rave with various Fugitive tracks and remixes on Vinyl Fanatiks over the past few years.

But one track has always alluded a release, there was always something that prevented it from being released. Originally written in 1995, it wasn’t until 1996 that he sent it to LTJ Bukem who went nuts for it, advising Dave to speed it up from its original 156bpm so he could play it. Upon doing so, it was also sent to Fabio and the pair of them played it on Kiss, Radio 1 and various gigs and festivals across the world. Dave was just in discussions to release it when Dillinja made a Bladerunner track using the same samples. In light of that and how the hierarchy worked in the 90’s drum and bass scene, Dave decided to pull the release and the track went back into the DAT draw… for 26 years!

This track has been requested by many to be pressed since Vinyl Fanatiks started as it had such a huge fanbase, so many people loved the track after hearing it either back in the day or on copies of mixes uploaded in recent years to the internet. An extremely desired track! But there was never a B-side to it… until Dave stepped into his Fugitive guise and brought the track up to date with one of the baddest basslines we have released on the label.

Since blowing up on TikTok during the pandemic, Montgomery Ricky has averaged 1M streams per day. This year, Ricky is set to release Montgomery Ricky +3, an upcoming EP of previously unreleased songs from the Montgomery Ricky era of music that Ricky has revisited.
This release features "Oh My My", a song that features the same second verse from "Line Without a Hook", and the cover art for the release will be sketches of the album that are previously unreleased.

Persistence of Sound releases a new work by Brunhild Ferrari called »L’oreille Voleuse« (The Thieving Ear). The LP features an extraordinary live reinterpretation by Eiko Ishibashi and Jim O’Rourke, recorded in October 2025 in Paris.

»No, without listening at doors, the ear captures noises here and there and unexpected sounds without choice, but remains attentive to the messages of each one picked up over the years. It gathers surprises and impressions, bringing them together in a simple mix. Eiko Ishibashi is a Japanese composer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist who has developed a unique body of work blending experimental pop, improvisation, and film music. Her work, praised for its expressive intensity and sensitivity to sonic textures, has led her to collaborate with numerous musicians on the international scene, including Jim O'Rourke, with whom she forms a long-standing duo. She is also the composer of several film scores, notably for the films of Ryusuke Hamaguchi (Drive My Car, Evil Does Not Exist), which have helped to bring her work to a wider audience beyond experimental music circles.

Jim O'Rourke is an American composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, and has been a major figure in experimental and independent music since the 1990s. His work spans rock, improvised music, electronic music, and contemporary music. A former member of Sonic Youth and a collaborator with Wilco, Gastr del Sol, and Merce Cunningham, he has released numerous solo albums and film scores. Based in Japan since the early 2000s, he continues to pursue a rich and multifaceted musical practice, where formal rigor and freedom of invention coexist.

Persistence of Sound was founded in 2019 by Iain Chambers (Langham Research Centre, Rubbish Music). The label explores the world of electroacoustic music, contemporary global field recordings, and the unclassifiable music spanning these genres.

Türkischer Folk-Psych-Rock aus Amsterdam der brennt und funkt und treibt und unwiderstehlich außergewöhnlich ist. Wenn türkische Folk-Music Psych-Rock und Elektro-Pop trifft entstehen Altin Gün. Mit ihrem außergewöhnlichen Spagat zwischen scheinbar komplett unterschiedlichen Stilen gelingt dieser Band, die türkisch klingt, von deren sechs Mitglieder aber nur eines in der Türkei geboren wurde, etwas wirklich Außergewöhnliches. Als türkischen Psych Folk bezeichnen sich diese Niederländer selbst, und betonen, dass sie ihre Musik im Kern als Folk verstehen, freilich ein solcher, dem man die tiefe Liebe zur Musik der funkigen 60er und 70er anmerkt. Sehr groovig, elektrisch und voll explosiver psychedelischer Strukturen kommen die türkischen Stücke daher. Lieder, die zum Teil schon unzählige Male gehört und interpretiert wurden, die zur musikalischen Vergangenheit der Türkei gehören, ihr Erbe sind, aber völlig neu klingen. Bandgründer und Bassist von Altin Gün, Jasper Verhulst, betont, wie wichtig das identitätsstiftende Potential der Lieder ist, dass man diesem aber etwas Einzigartiges hinzufügen wollte, was die Hörer innehalten lässt. "Die Lieder stammen aus einer langen Tradition. Das ist Musik, die versucht, eine Stimme für Viele zu sein. (... Und dann) brauchen wir etwas, das die Leute dazu bringt zuzuhören, als wäre es das erste Mal." Der Sound von Altin Gün klingt gleichermaßen traditionell wie vollständig zeitgenössisch und zeigt auf fast schon märchenhafte Art und Weise, dass Musik ein kulturell durchlässiges, experimentelles Medium ist, in dem uns immer wieder wunderschöne Überraschungen begegnen. Mit "Gece", ihrem zweiten Album, hat sich die Band nun endgültig als unverzichtbarer Interpret des anatolischen Rock- und Folk-Erbes etabliert und ist eine absolut unverwechselbare Stimme in der aufstrebenden globalen Psych-Rock-Szene geworden.

It’s True What They Say is the debut EP from Edinburgh-based, husband-and-wife duo Sarah/Shaun (pronounced simply Sarah Shaun), aka Sarah and Shaun McLachlan (pronounced “McLochlin”).

“Sarah and I both have a love for nostalgia,” explains Shaun. “We watched that amazing old 80’s Sci-Fi, (John) Carpenter movie, Starman, a few months back. Myself and my brother David used to watch it all the time. We must have been, roughly, 5-7 at the time. I remember loving the movie but the end, you know, with the beautiful, atmospheric, synth ending, I love that particular moment the most - best part of the movie, you know, when he goes home… It’s heartbreaking but stunning, all the same. It’s the music that moves you most… It did when I was 5 and it still does to this day. It must have had some form of a (much deeper) impact on me.”

The duo narrates stories across themes of love, hope, family, friends, dreams and sadness - the good that comes with the bad in everyday life, not just on a personal scale but within a community as well.

“Starbed is the first song I have ever written and just came out of the blue really, with Shaun playing a melody and me singing along,” says Sarah. “It’s simple and just about two people in love. Love songs are always the best songs, after all… Music has been a big part of my life from a young age. I was unwillingly dragged to piano and violin lessons, which I’m thankful for now! I’d say the first band I really became obsessed with growing up were the Beatles, and on the back of that a lot of 60s music and fashion. From then on, I had a love for music.”

“Shaun definitely opened my ears to a lot of sounds and got me thinking about soundtracks and all the noises that can be made,” she goes on. “We love just spending time experimenting in the house with instruments, pedals etc and Ali is a real magician to work with, too…”

The recordings took place over the summers of 2022 and 2023, with fellow Delta Mainline member Ali Chisholm (aka Jaguar Eyes) plus long-term friend and collaborator Gavin King. Further collaboration then came via the ‘net from the (international) likes of Chris Dixie Darley (Father John Misty), Darren Coghill (Neon Waltz) and Daniel Land (The Modern Painters), among others (see a full list of credits below).

Both Sarah and Shaun have a love for uber-soundtrack producers such as Hanz Zimmer, Max Richter, Cliff Martinez plus live acts such as Beach House, Spiritualized, M83, Suicide, Moby and OMD (to name a few). Shaun also credits the work of Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein (from Survive) on the Stranger Things score… “Even a moment in a movie, whether it be just 30 seconds during a particular scene, it grips you,” he says. But there’s something much deeper at play as well. “Music is a healer,” he goes on, “and I write from my own perspective but more so for others. Once I've done my bit, it doesn't belong to me any longer. It belongs to whoever wants it or needs it.”

The result is a cinematic, synth-wavey, dream poppy and downright beguilingly beautiful body of work. And they’re just getting started…
