'Radar' by Parisian DJ and producer NiKiT is Electronic Emergencies' first release in 2020. Two years after his debut, NiKiT has once again delivered a stunning mini-album. His idiosyncratic and particular style within the realm of techno flirts with electro, and sometimes even has a dubby touch. Compared to his debut 'Arcanes', NiKiT's sound has expanded and is more spacey, while staying powerful and very danceable. Celebrated Dutch painter Ditty Ketting conceived the mesmerising cover art.

Yila, an ex-Londoner based in Ljubljana collaborated with two Dj's: French London based Giom and Slovenian Alleged Witches.

The combinations were the focus; each person bringing their unique style, this natural melding deciding the genre without confines, guided by the Dj's understanding of what works in the club.

Sprinklings of nostalgia meet a future thinking fusion of dance music with a focus on slick production. There is a subject matter; not expressed through the contrived mind but through a subconscious sonic delivery, allowing the political nature of the music speak for itself.

The second instalment of minimood's multidisciplinary fusion series features Die Wilde Jagd with an extensive rework of the neo-romantic ’Morgenrot’ as well as a vast array of diverse remixes by Ancient Methods, CV313, Luigi Tozzi, Roman Flügel, Rude 66, Steve Bug, The KVB, Vactrol Park, and Variant. This gatefold 3x12" vinyl only release is visually enhanced with intricate hand-drawn artwork including inlay by Dusseldorf based artist Susanne Giring. Written and recorded by Sebastian Lee Philipp with his Uhrwald Orange studio collaborator Ralf Beck, ’Morgenrot’ originally appeared on Die Wilde Jagd's debut album in 2015.

For this release, Philipp and Beck re-visited the song: the ensuing ‘Fangschuss Version' enjoys an augmented arrangement, additional instrumentation and a haunting guest vocal by New- Zealand based singer Nina Siegler. In Philipp’s words, the 'Fangschuss Version' constitutes “a venture to capture the spirit that has been guiding this fusion release - a desire to explore the concepts of friendship, time, distance and memory. An attempt to unveil fragments of the unseen and to reveal the surge of a distant remembrance in an embracive listening experience." 'Morgenrot' subsequently gets a highly varied remix treatment by a range of carefully selected artists.

While Vactrol Park navigate the original audio material into beautiful ambient territory, Ancient Methods showcase an epic masterpiece of enchanting medieval-vibed techno. The KVB turn the track into a dreamy cold-wave trip and Rude 66 dives into a dark, primetime, anthemic dimension. For Roman Flügel, it’s a slow, organic, starry-eyed approach and Luigi Tozzi transforms 'Morgenrot' into hypnotic & loopy, minimal, deep techno. The rework by Steve Bug plays with the original's melody and a danceable kosmische-infused house cut emerges.

The final two remixes are both crafted by legendary Echospace Detroit mastermind Stephen Hitchell: absorbing deep trips into mesmerizing dubtechno by CV313 and into foggy lo-fi ambient by Variant.

Three of the major pedestals in the Icelandic techno scene gave birth to a classic Thule release in 1997. This collaboration between Sanasol (Yagya & Thor) & Ozy gave result of an EP, which is considered by many to be one of the finest of the Icelandic techno of that era.
Seveneleven is a delicate blend of deep techno and minimalist house music. Enigmatic combination of lush pads, delicate percussions and dubby chords are destined to transport the listeners to an higher unknown state of euphoria. Every modern electronic music presenter should be able to find joyful, elevated, convulsing or simply useful moments within the extent of this track that is designed to have its inherent connecting factors and starting points in place for every DJ set — letting it be just a few minutes, well-placed groove looping or bigger amounts of its entirety for diving into a long night, bringing it to an end or making it standing out in-between.

Starting off with a hazy half-grasp hint of what's to come, a mysteriously pervasive bionic loop emerges, slowly coalescing with a bone-dry groove on the rise. Taking up a first quadrant of the track, already gnawing into the long-term memory, it manages to gradually establish itself along the pathway while the "rhythmatics" endure some subtle layer-shifting with occult-like strings come sliding in from somewhere unknown like an admonitory subtext.

Being halfway through (and all the way in), everything smoothly crumbles down to its basic framework, still shaking off its own reminiscences while foregone vestiges almost perilously try to reassemble themselves. All of that leading to a clearly unforeseen yet fortunate drift into a 1980's-like synth peak time section after about 27 minutes being in that track, finally cherishing an evolving emotional felicity and the climax of its own being that tends to feel like an overarching salvation.

As everything being eventually finite, the track starts to bring to mind where it came from by assuredly falling back into a story told before with the well-established bionic loop that once used to run free, sounding somehow different and more tamed now. Ending with dignity, the consistently resurfaced admonitory strings lead the way to its conclusion and possibly new beginnings, solely leaving behind the heartbeat-like booming that carried it all, now fading away...

Coming into existence during a series of multiple productions of exuberant proportions with Rico making the studio his citadel-like stronghold, this is an extensive story of desires, instincts, pride, fall, mirth, solicitude, tension, détente and basically life itself while subtly yet versatilely entertaining on a dodgy yet accessible level throughout the wingspread of Techno, House, Minimal, Dub, Electronica and Ambient influences.

The CD version not only brings you the title track in the guise of its non-split completeness but eminently churns out the extra drumming dub treat DEKAEPTA for a pleasurable groove-delight as well as the trippy bonus beauty VOSEM' that transits as a precious component of infinity.

Amsterdam collective De Lichting proudly presents their second solo EP on the label. Known for their collaborative compilations and multi-faced jam sessions, once in a while they shine a light on one member solely. This time it’s Utrecht based producer queniv with four high-energy power jams. He has appeared on all three De Lichting compilations before and is an active member of the group since they launched early 2018.

Opening track ‘Unfold’ starts at high pace with rubbery kick drums formed in an unstoppable groove. With its bleeping lazer shots and crafty programmed drum patterns it’s a powerful electro tool for joyful DJ-sets. ‘Unknown Territory’ continues on a slightly darker path, the ambiance is dreamy and floats smoothly into sub heavy territories. Another fresh take on electro on the flip-side with ‘Redesign’, a bright shining two-stepper followed by the muggy drums of ‘Viba’. It rounds of this highly recommended party pack for a wide range of DJ’s.

We are proud to welcome back San Francisco based DJ and producer Sepehr Alimagham for his debut album ‘Shaytoon’. Drenched in nostalgia from his upbringing, ‘Shaytoon’ pays homage to 1970s Iranian albums that were on rotation throughout his youth. Eight tracks of twisted acid, left-of center electro, sludgy psychedelia, and things-you-can-maybe-call-techno are a few of the sonic elements found within. Regular listeners will find Sepehr’s signature perspiratory dance-floor vibe, but some songs also showcase a low-slung, cerebral approach. Sepehr's unique sonic palette carves an interesting space in the dance music world by harnessing the spirit of his cultural ancestors. The artwork pays tribute to ‘70s Iranian pop and funk albums with bold Farsi calligraphy and portraits by Sahra Jajarmikhayat. In relation to the music, the album cover creates a dichotomy much like Throbbing Gristle's ’20 Funk Jazz Greats’. Berakhs (Dance).

RY X and Frank Wiedemann reunite as Howling to present Colure, the sophomore full-length record from their joint musical enterprise. RY X, solo alternative artist and member of The Acid, and Frank, one half of me, bring fans a bigger, sharper follow-up to their debut, Sacred Ground. On Colure, the Berlin-based Wiedemann and Los Angeles-based RY X conjure transcendent creations out of their contrasting musical backgrounds and environments. The album is assuredly dualistic: electronic and acoustic sounds sit comfortably side-by-side, and big melodic hooks are laced into hypnotic club productions.

The duo marked their debut as Howling with the release of a self-titled track in 2012, a runaway viral success that they followed with the 2015 album Sacred Ground (which was praised by Mixmag, DJ Mag, Resident Advisor and more). Their lauded live show toured internationally, taking in slots at Melt! Festival, Electronic Beats Festival and an Innervisions showcase at the Royal Albert Hall.

On Colure they wanted to pick up where they’d left off with their last record and distill the core ingredients to improve on it. “We wanted people to know, ‘This is a Howling track,’” Wiedemann says. From the introspective, bass-driven ‘Bind’, to the delicate piano in ‘The Water’ (the duo’s spin on the track of the same title from RY X’s 2019 solo album, Unfurl), and the steady-built euphoria of ‘Phases’ (previously supported by XLR8R and Resident Advisor upon its 2017 single release), the minutely-realised songwriting and production across each track are what tie these records together to create a stunning body of work.

The album title gestures to their binary relationship. “Colure” refers to the point, in astronomy, where two celestial poles are aligned. Echoed in the album artwork, and in the production around their new live show, it mirrors the two contrasting poles which each of them occupies. “This project is a lot about how we come together”, Ry says. “It’s the idea”, concurs Wiedemann, “that we’re two different planets, in our own orbit, but which meet when we come together to make music.”

Each of the songs is made to be played live. Their intention was to create songs that could expand and evolve in a live setting, leaving them room to improvise and experiment. Accordingly, they crafted spare, sharply defined songs, rooted in an organic sound, and with analogue set-ups that could be replicated at their shows. Each of the tracks will be accompanied by an intricate visual art piece, developed by artist Benton C. Bainbridge (who’s previously worked with the Beastie Boys and TV On The Radio).

Above all, this is a record about bringing distinct musical spheres in contact with one another, embracing the fresh possibilities that can arise out of difference. A follow-up album that’s been long in the making, the long-gestated care and attention is discernible in every corner of the record, in the finely crafted details that populate each and every track.

Stojche and Deniro join forces on Sungate to create "Pressure", a split EP with four original tracks that showcase their unique way of understanding music. An exquisite selection of captivating, tripped out, effective techno productions.

As a producer who is strongly influenced by many fragments of the arts spectrum, starting from music itself, to film, art, design, Kamran Sadeghi’s first Amphia LP represents the artist’s dialogue with music and its depths. Between 2014 and 2017, Kamran has experimented with many different ideas, moods and musical excercises which build up a track sequence as an invitation to explore the melodic ritual and use their imagination to create their own meanings.
 


The openers “More than tomorrow” and “Today” are subtly mingled, suggesting the alternation between the future and the present through a sound focused motif. “Water Me” and “Who New” are introducing Side B, briefly triggering a rediscovery process. The atmospheric aesthetic of the LP is emphasized as the third side elaborates the meaning of a “Rise” during a “May Day”, a soulful connection with enlightenment. When reaching the last side, “Surface” and “Decay” are closing the melodic ritual, with the signals slowly fading as an escapism.

from flocofloco And we still have very little info on the track that was
there. “On m’a dit…” by Floco Floco is a lo-fi afro-disco stomper hailing straight from the new ghettos created by confinement. Something had to give and we are glad that Floco Floco, whoever he is, has chosen us to ease his lockdown mind: “I’ve been told to stay at home, on WhatsApp all day long, working in the studio, reading books I haven’t read, I hope it won’t be too long, I don’t know if I can hold, smoking weed day & night, like never I have been before”.
Not a message, just a statement. The answer on the track was so good that we decided to come with more versions… We asked our friend Bufiman aka Jan Schulte to put his magic and he came with two
versions. One stellar arpeggio, with no beats but a serious drive as well as an instrumental Disco version. Gilb’r slowed down the whole affair and turned it into a cosmic nonsense vocal reprise, with a different bassline, chords and arrangement. A great summer pack!

Blocaus series is back with it's 8th release, "Gods & Robots" EP by rising French artist Ruhbarb for his debut EP on the label. Involved with labels such as Materia and Odd Oven, Ruhbarb's sound is a mixture between techno, dub and ambient, nurturing a tone that is driving, groovy and dark, but always loaded with great emotional depth. Part of a promising new generation of French producers and DJ's, Ruhbarb delivers 4 fantastic cuts in his own personal style including on the B side two killer remixes from Answer Code Request and Antigone.

Amsterdam based imprint Taped Artifact welcomes Erik Anthony to their label. With only one contribution to the Dynamic Reflection label back in 2017, very less is known about the young Amsterdam producer. But here he makes a stellar techno debut with his first solo EP backed with a Vril remix.

On the a-side things kick off with 'Board Walk', haunting vocal chops combined with droning kick drums combined making it a serious big-room techno jam. 'Oclose' brings more soul to the game, subtle basslines and dreamy synths create an uplifting and joyful playground for endless dancing. Vril then stirs things up, his take on 'Oclose' has more punch, a different energy and his trademark hazy dub-techno twist. Last track 'Separate' is an emotive yet powerful techno workout that closes the four track affair that can be seen as a promising allround debut release.

Domino are extremely proud to present ‘acts of rebellion’, the debut album from Ela Minus. ‘acts of rebellion’ is a call to fight, to live, to be present. An optimistic, uplifting album, it’s a record of small details and grand gestures, a manifesto of simplicity, a record brimming with life. Colombia-born and raised musician Ela Minus wrote, performed and produced the collection entirely alone. Selfmade and punk in spirit - Ela puts her own spin on traditional electronic music.
She designs and builds hardware synthesizers and, as a self-imposed rule, no sound in her work is generated inside a computer. Creating complex, technical electronic music that exudes a vibrant warmth and a stark, celebratory affirmation that our breaths aren’t infinite. A collection of songs about the personal as political and an embracing of the beauty of tiny acts of revolution in our everyday lives. Throughout, a sense of urgency and a call to arms is mixed with this love and appreciation for reality - because even revolutionaries need to leave space for simple human interaction.

Benjamin Vigneron, also known as Vronsky, was born in 1991 in Aix-en-Provence, France.
As a Teenager, drawn simultaneously to Visual Arts, Cinema and Musiproduction, he made his first contact with Techno by working for a local club as a graphic designer. During his 20s, while living between Montreal, Canada and Marseille, France, it was revealed to Benjamin he suffered from a heavy bipolar disorder. As a reaction, he started losing himself in free parties and increasingly dangerous habits.

Gradually learning to love himself despite his flaws, he kicked his risk-taking after he realized the love of music prevailed over anything else.
Equipped with a strong desire to share his vision despite not being able to perform as a DJ, Benjamin started a youtube channel and a collective named Listening Blue.

2018 Konduku took everyone by surprise with his debut called Kiran. It doesn't happen all too often a new artist emerges with such a developed and distinctive sound, delivering an album as debut. Now, a year and three EPs later, Nous'klaer Audio is thrilled to present his followup: White Heron. Tino Kirstan is presenting his latest project called "UFO Paranoia", after some digital releases finally on black gold. 4 unique techno tracks in an oldschool detroit style with a special modern shine, that perfectly suits these special dancefloor moments.

Hypnus are pleased to present the second edition of their Serum series which is intended as a hub of collaborations. Every record will be some sort of joint effort with one or more of the Hypnus artists and they're hoping to push a more eclectic bouquet of musical styles in tandem with the regular Hypnus series.

The first year they launched the series by inviting rising talents Primal Code to release two tracks with interpretations by Feral and Luigi Tozzi. For the second edition we are now introduced to the amazingly deep dubs of Illuvia (real name Ludvig Cimbrelius, aka. Purl), interpreted by the before-mentioned Primal Code as well as label head Ntogn under his paradisaical pseudonym Blomkraft. Released as a sampler vinyl as well as a full-length digital album.

The music of Ludvig Cimbrelius comes in many shapes and forms with a handful of monikers making up a vast sea of ethereal and mesmerizing electronic music. His works range from classical piano excursions and evolving ambient music to drum & bass and dub techno. With that said, we easily get a sensation of taking part of a state of mind rather than listening to a set of musical compositions. Now, please bathe yourselves in the lush vibes of Illuvia.

Jocelyn is next up on the ESHU label with three tracks of deep and smoky techno that mark his solo debut. He is one of the co-founders of the ESHU collective and has contributed collaborative tracks as ESHU, as well as working as J&L (aka Tom Liem and Jocelyn Abell) on Field Records, Deep Sound Channel and this label before now. Opener 'Other Heights' is eight minutes of deeply absorbing dub techno that is stripped back to only the most essential elements but still has a very real presence. A warped, soft edged acid line eventually takes the lead as calming pads stretch out to infinity. 'Maox' is more drum lead, with crisp electro stylings and more mind melting acid lines working you into a trance as the cosmic pads flash things out. Last of all, 'Utan' hits harder but is just as warm and cavernous, with call and response pads and bass leading you off on an intergalactic journey that is cerebral and cinematic. It rounds out a superb EP of immersive techno in fine style.

Electro label A.C.E.W celebrates its tenth release to date since its inception in 1999. Founded by Emilio Urbano, the Roman imprint comes with a very special collaboration between A Credible Eye Witness & his partner in crime Ghost Ride. Essential 'Sync Execute' signs four tracks of pure no-non sense electro madness with the usual quality you could expect from the Italian squadra. Frantic 'Enjoy The Music' kicks things off with metallic hits over pounding beats, slithering woofers and crystal clear synth sounds to make your body move. Let's figure this hypnotic song as a straight uppercut in your face, in particular when robotic lyrics start to chant the title track, and you will know how cash you will pay! Next is 'Dark Science'. As quicking as the opening track, the cut offers crispy groove with a real impact over modular loops and analog swirls. Hot as Hell! On the flipside, prépare for a shaking and epic landing with 'Mood Stabilizer', a pure frenzy syncopated sequence made of ultra dancefloor yet melodic flights combined with thundering rumbles. From here, the record turns even more haunting and spooky thanks to spicy 'New Heaven'. Metal pads spiral, lurching drums and unsettling noises offer on the last track a final in apotheosis, showcasing the fun both artists had while writing this piece of devastating Dresxcyain style electro. Ripped-up synths, crispy hits and punishing beats fused into gurgling arpeggios characterize this essential 12'.

After the success of his alchemic Relapse EP, Fedbymachines returns to Shipwrec with his brand of genre splicing electronics. The 12" opens in the blurry haze of "Rest Rain." Drenched in static, dubby notes trudge next to whispered hi-hits as liquid notes sparkle. A deftness of touch permeates the entire record, coming to the fore in the gentle currents and sways of "Bestill" before the cascading resonance of "Solos." Long-term Soma collaborator Tony Scott drops his debut album with the label under his Edit Select alias, the perfectly crafted experience, 'Cyclical Undulations'. Having released with Soma under his Percy X moniker for years and having countless hits under his belt, Scott reinvented himself as Edit Select. Known for his dark, expressive and expansive music, Edit Select has become once of the most well respected and renowned artists in the genre. With this latest full length, he continues to explore the furthest reaches of the Deep Techno spectrum.

The Cyclical Undulations journey begins with Insta Grain, a mesmeric odyssey of ebbing pads and sparse percussive elements that seem to drift of into the expanse. A perfect opener before the first foray into more 4x4 territory begins with Above Ground a pulsating affair before Two Step Phase, a more stripped back affair, reminiscent of earlier Percy X works in it's 90s heyday. Undulation, more propulsive in it's approach, melds warping synth hooks alongside spectral tones. Horizon#1 follows in a similar vein yet drift into slightly more hypnotic territory as recurrent tones lead the track. Scott flourishes with yet more machine-throb crafting Close Up & In The Beginning She Was, both stacked with subtle nuances of his stylised percussion lost across dream like states. The later half of the album has a distinct minimalistic approach yet seem to provide maximal output with every beat. Horizon#2 is dark and ominous yet still characterised by a tough percussive element. Contact, produced in collaboration with Claudio PRC, delves into more submerged sounds with heavy sub bass and echoed drums, finishing of with Towards The E; a shuffling broken beat affair with after hours vibes and an endearing ethereal quality.

Cyclical Undulations demonstrates a mature sense of production from Edit Select. An assured collection of material, each track providing a striking insight into a true artistic mind.
