Layton Giordani - New Generation

Layton Giordani crafts his most accomplished work to date with ‘NewGeneration’, his second album on Drumcode.

Since 2017’s critically acclaimed debut album ‘Where It Begins’, the New Yorker has entrenched himself as one of the label’s most vital artists and leader of techno’s new school brigade. At just 27, he’s collaborated with Adam Beyer and Green Velvet on multiple occasions, linked with the legendary Danny Tenaglia for the now-classic ‘Live Again’ and played everywhere from Awakenings, Melt! Festival and Warehouse Project. He’s also lived the Transatlantic life more than most, splitting his time between the Big Apple and Amsterdam, absorbing influences from across the electronic spectrum.

It’s these experiences that inform ‘New Generation’, a masterclass of techno futurism and glistening example of Giordani’s ever-developing talents as a producer. Opening with the shimmering soundscapes of ‘Shinjuku’, a beatless two-and-a-half-minute mood setter, the album swings between timeless multi-faceted dancefloor weapons, and more lilting, ambient techno cuts rips for the golden hour.

Already a favourite of the Drumcode faithful, the album’s title track hits with a swarm of synapsesearing synths that saw it go down a treat at Awakenings Festival, Tomorrowland and Gashouder in the second half of 2019. ‘System Majority’ balances atmosphere and propulsive rhythms on a knife’s edge and featured in Beyer’s DCR 515 radio show. Giordani reunites with the legendary Green Velvet for ‘Life Lesson’, a pulsating roller, which notably features the young New Yorker’s hypnotic vocals on loop. Teaming with friend and fellow East Coaster Avision, ‘Power’ is punchy techno at its finest, driven by energetic stabs and a stirring vocal from Chicago journeyman Cevin Fisher. After playing b2b a string of times, Layton links with good friend Bart Skils for a maiden collaborative track. Driven by a strong melodic lead, ‘Midnight Magic’ typified the moment when the duo played it at Drumcode’s Awakenings event during ADE last year. ‘Feel A Vibe’ is an album highlight centered around plump bass, reverb-heavy sonics, distorted bleeps and a spoken word vocal, which begs for a peak-time rinse.

Elsewhere Giordani demonstrates his breadth with cuts such as ‘Nirvana X’, a lush breakbeat-laden cut; the laser-kissed ‘Translation Lost’, where his musicality is in full view and the progressive-tinged ‘Memory Fragment’, which reinforces the expansive Drumcode sound palette. The beautiful ‘Human Error’ closes out the work, as muffled horns, delicate keys and sparse bed of percussion unify for a momentous finale.

“This album is a summary of my life experiences up until this moment. Traveling around the world, living abroad, looking into the future and bringing atmosphere and textures from different places into my music. The evolution of music is a systematic cycle that never ends. It’s a composition of all matters experienced and visualized up until this very moment. From futuristic realms and ambiences, to city soundscapes within our reach; ‘New Generation’ is the future distilled into album form.” - Layton Giordani

Tobias. / Neel / Wa Wu We - Konstrukt 012

Tobias., Neel and Sebastian Muellaert as Wa Wu We collaborate with the Konstrukt label for their 12th release. Each producer with a unique and refreshing approach towards electronic music.

Tobias. is up first with a beautiful track that balances on the border of rationality and emotion. His abstract sonic narrative discloses through tightly organized rhythms and noisy percussion. Neel follows up with a cinematic composition that submerges us into otherworldly oddities that guides us slowly through his composition. WaWuWe's formally known as Sebastian Mullaert relieves the tension. The Swedish composer made a 13-minute long stirring and relaxing B-side track, blessing us with soothing energy for the mind, body and soul.

Various - Displaced Soundtracks Vol.2 2x12"

Continuing on the thematic thread of soundtracking an imaginary short movie, label founder DJ Tennis aka Manfredi Romano, asks some of the greatest contemporary club producers to take on the task of interpreting this idea in their own unique style. Romano explains that 'the score is a translation of our imagination, memories and emotions into music, with no protocols.' Opening the soundtrack, Vatican Shadow swaps his thunderous techno for a more cosmic and gentle approach, setting the tone for an equally serene soundscape from London based DJ and producer Midland. Japanese Future Terror head honcho, DJ Nobu, layers dense cerebral textures exuding the punk spirit of Life and Death. A similar rule defying energy can be heard by Ninos De Brazil who fuse carnival percussions with straight up old school techno. Both Scuba and Uchi bring the futuristic synths of a space age tomorrow we've all been waiting for. German producer Isolee interprets the task with his minimal productions and Italian producer Cosmo closes the compilation with Psychedelic Soundscapes turning into a distorted gabber missile. As the decade edges closer to it's decade anniversary, Romano proves yet again that Life and Death is a label which evolves through each reincarnation of itself, never failing to impress.

Joseph Capriati - Metamorfosi

Joseph Capriati

Metamorfosi

3x12inchREDIMENSIONLP001
Redimension
17.11.2020

* Includes high-quality download in MP3
Metamorfosi is the story of Joseph Capriati’s artistic evolution, the result of both personal and musical development, maturing influences and meeting his heroes - an emotional message which needs to be felt.

From the album’s opening moments, the slow-release, acid euphoria of ‘Improvvisazione’ and the stunning synth melodies of ‘Beautiful Morning’, Capriati’s cards are on the table. The three years since his last album have seen Joseph embark on a journey of self-reflection, broadening his creative spectrum and incorporating more genres and moods. “It is definitely not a pure dancefloor record”, he says of Metamorfosi, “it is diverse, which for me is the spirit of an album. I really hope that people will get the message.”

By releasing the album on his own label Redimension, any barriers that previously lay between Capriati and his most authentic self are gone. This is at once the sound of the Neapolitan techno artist today, as an eleven-year-old discovering House music, as a world-touring DJ and as Joseph at home.

As the rousing keys and pulse of ‘Beautiful Morning’ fade out, in comes one of the record’s main themes, collaboration. ‘Spirit Brothers’, made with the legendary Louie Vega, is a modern spin on classic House. “The track with Louie Vega is very symbolic for me personally, as it was him and Masters At Work who have inspired me since the beginning.” Through their storied six-hour, vinyl-only sets together at Cielo, New York, Joseph and Louie have fostered a special relationship which
translates onto this infectious track. ‘Love Changed Me’, a joint work with Byron Stingily and Eric Kupper, two more true icons of House music, appears later in the record and also fulfills Joseph’s lifelong wish to work with timeless producers and vocalists.

With the supreme drum programming and rolling groove of ‘Anything Is Possible’, the balance shifts to a more muscular sound with a few elements revolving in perfect harmony. ‘Dust’ restores the uplifting tone, conjuring images of Joseph entrancing a crowd at sunrise - fitting given the track was made after Joseph’s first experience at Burning Man in 2018 and represents all the emotions he lived in those desert days. ‘Psychic Journey’ and ‘Goa’ share this cosmic feeling but pack it with extra weight for the peak-time hours.

It would not be a Joseph Capriati full-length without an ode to his beloved hometown of Napoli, a city with a rich history in dance music culture and beyond. ‘New Horizons’ featuring James Senese represents the essence of Napoli. The single contains a techno version which stands for Joseph and the original version which stands for James Senese, a pioneer of Neapolitan blues and funk for more than half a century. In Joseph’s words, “this track has a priceless value and for me has a great meaning. We didn’t want to make a pure techno track, because it would turn out to be trivial together with James Senese’s saxophone and his voice. The idea was to make an electronic track, and it turned out to be quite trip-hop, very 90s, in a similar style to Massive Attack or Tricky.”

‘New Horizons’ sets up the cinematic, IDM-influenced title-track ‘Metamorfosi’. If any one track on this LP could alone characterise its concept, this would be it. ‘Metamorfosi’ could stun a packed dancefloor at the right moment but that is not its reason to be. It is purely and simply an expression of Joseph’s musical vision, a snapshot of countless years buying, playing and living music.

The album’s final stretch includes the vibrant ‘It’s All About Love’, the stand-out song made with Eric Kupper and Byron Stingily called ‘Love Changed Me’ and, finally, a broken-beat cut which provides one last emotional peak. With an album tour and special, Capriati vinyl sets coming up soon, the message of Metamorfosi will come to life in a different way. The message is now with you.

V.A. - Anthems For No State 2x12"

Pink Vinyl

What is techno? It's a question that might be worth considering in our current world away from the dancefloor, and that which is proposed by DJ Tennis on 'Anthems for No State', a new compilation commemorating ten years of music from Life and Death. A number of the label's most trusted associates offer their sonic answer to Tennis's query on this propulsive yet thoughtful compilation.

"Not all of the artists here are exclusively associated with 'techno', whatever that may be, and everyone took a different direction", explains Manfredi, the international DJ turned-lockdown bicycle repairman. "But in producing something outside of your comfort zone, or experimenting with something you'd never thought about experimenting with, it takes you right back to when you started, and so you have nothing to lose. And it's liberating."

Although 'Anthems for No State' focuses on the potential within one particular sound, it's the perfect anniversary accompaniment to a decade of one of electronic music's more unpredictable institutions. As Tennis himself puts it, "sometimes we failed, sometimes we were successful without ever expecting it, but we always want to keep things interesting within the manifesto of the label."

In this instance, techno is truly a matter of Life and Death.

Forged in the warm rhythmic patterns of his previous creations, the Nijmegen musician folds new textures and tones into his compositions. From the intimidating industrial vision of "Response," Yugen amplifies abandonment in the reduced rendition that is "Notch." The flip brightens with the gentle movements and subtle ebbs of "16916" before the organic flows and angular builds of "Inward."

Ruben Üvez aka Konduku (a former resident of sadly closed De School in Amsterdam) delivered this extended play: a Şeker-meditation resting in itself: You always know where you are while having no clue where it’s coming from!
Rooted in steppy beats, these 5 variations of the same insult towards your having-something-better-to-do-state-of-mind will convince you that there is more out there! Something deep, something to be explored, maybe it’s dark, but it’s definitely something connecting you to the interdimensional sphere of progression within the human-designed world-consciousness-interface of communication through music!!
Not any music but the intricate kind of one you want to experience through a club sound-system (in case you do have neighbours and spent less than 3000,- on your home-system (…or really good headphones for that matter))!

For the cover we owe eternal gratitude to Sophie Schmidt, an artist from Munich, who apart from amazing paintings sometimes delivers breathtaking performances - and we can not recommend highly enough experiencing one of those!!! Honestly: Watch them if you get the chance: You’re unlikely to experience that kind of intensity anywhere else!

Extrawelt - Extra Welt Hits 4x12"

+ Download Code

Extra Welt Hits is a time capsule drenched in the essence of the act’s DNA. Accentuated by newlyremastered tracks that serve their ever-evolving, clever and out-of-the-box sound, each recording spills into the next with sonic precision. From the monumental masterpiece of the album’s opening track ‘Ferneh’, through to the “One- way ticket to oblivion, please” hits of ‘Soopertrack’ and ‘Titelheld’, the listener is left captivated. And, because it’s what they do best, the destruction and artful reconstruction echoed through their shows are also present. These are beamed out in the exclusive live versions of ‘Zu Fuss’, ‘Dark Side Of My Room’ and ‘Herzstück’. Recorded in Tokyo, Paris and at the Fusion Festival, these bent, broken and rebuilt icons prove once again why they are one of the most influential live-acts of the semi- underground. That live-act—a futuristic symphony of dance music—is both undefinable and strays well past the norm. Their chance to manipulate their creations in a flow of measured spontaneity, it continues to leave permanent impressions on audiencesNew Release Information everywhere. The result is an experience focussed on purism with great care in presenting the deepest core of their craft, in essence; exactly what sums up their musical galaxy.
It was never the acts plan to release a best-of album, especially at the unusual 15- year mark, rather, it rolled into motion naturally as a way to immortalise the victory of being around so long (in a scene where the shelf life for most artists doesn't last much longer than an album or two, fifteen years is something of a triumph). With that, Extrawelt invite those that were there from the start to join them in getting a kick out of being “officially mature”. And for those that were not, to have the chance to hear their story up until now, like it’s never been told before. And yes, while the listener may have outlived many of the clubs which first introduced them, it is unlikely that anyone has outgrown this brave,
intangible and absorbing music—one that is all theirs, but all ours, too. A sound which is still as relevant today as ever it was; feeding the older generation’s electronic-itch while also enabling the newones to go totally nuts.

Michael Forzza & Andreas Dimitri - Kahana

At the latest since groundbreaking releases on labels like Music Man and R&S Belgian techno stands for intense and atmospheric tunes which have that certain something that touches the listeners and dancers.

And without any doubt Michael Forzza and Dimitri Andreas have helped to shape this style and vibe, amongst others with releasing „Kahana“ in 2005.

Marc Romboy has always been a big fan of this tune so that it was a matter of time to plan a re-release including the original mix in a remastered way and three new versions which are more than audiolicious!

Barcelona´s specialists for ethereal techno, Fur Coat, come around with an extremely respect version which brings that certain early 90s dream techno vibe a la „The Age Of Love“ together with their typical contemporary and atmospheric sound.

Music Man´s finest Petar Dundov adds his best known sound signature to the tune while Forzza and Andrweas themselves master the impossible, as they transform the tune into a modern frame although keeping the original vibe.

New listeners and gourmets reminiscing about the good old times, noone will be disappointed at all!

The Key EP

12inchRB004
Rhythm Büro
30.11.2018

Rhythm Buro's fourth release is a much anticipated EP from one of it's co-cofounders, Na Nich aka Alexander Pavlenko. Pavlenko has been making music for nearly 20 years, most notably under the alias Sunchase. With the latter project, he was known in the drum and bass world as something of a child prodigy, but more recently Pavlenko started applying his artistry towards soundscapes that can be filed into the techno category. In the last four years he's been first and foremost involved with Rhythm Buro, a techno initiative, party series and label from Kiev, Ukraine, that has since become well-regarded among DJs and dancers internationally.

This EP marks Na Nich's first solo EP, following a track featured on Semantica Records' anniversary compilation 'Arquitectura del Sueno', along with a few tracks appearing on Rhythm Buro's previous VA releases.

RB004 opens on the A1 with a track entitled 'The Key' which is one of the first tracks made by Na Nich. The listener is gently introduced to an ambient wonder wall before some percussive elements open up and synths set the mood: a transportive journey led by a kalimba-infused melody which swells with a certain ambiguity that seems to lend a shamanistic touch. A2's 'DVA' is a more four-to-the-floor dubbed-out gentle fist pumper, with melting synth melodies and foggy layers backdropped by steady reaching high-hats and a consistently wise kick drum. A strong element of the psychedelic and inquisitive is much present.

The B side of the record is another part of the story: B1's 'Log' is an epic night-finisher dreamscape, a strong element of space seems to be the focus here as beats play less present in this foggy cinematic soundtrack to a film that has yet to be made. The remix version by Luigi Tozzi on B2 reminds us how deep this prolific Italian artist can take us down the rabbit hole. For fans of danceable, groove-centered and thought provoking tunes to loose one's and find one's mind to.

With releases on the likes of Organic Music, Housewax and (djebali), plus a string of stand-out EP’s via their own labels Sintope and Sintope Digital, Timisoara’s NTFO have established themselves as key names within the realm of minimal and deep house since making their production debut back in early 2008. Having released their ‘Esperantza’ EP on the label last year, here we see the pairing return to Bondage Music in fine form to open their account in 2019 with the impressive ‘Dobr’.
Title cut ‘Dobr’ opens the EP as the duo quickly go to work, introducing a slick blend of sharp drum shots amongst snaking bassline patterns, whilst ‘Blissed Out’ combines organic percussion licks, punch low end tones and warping synth leads to great effect. Next, the first vinyl only track on the package ‘Riddin’ welcomes dubby pads and crisp hats before flowing steadily into the slinking, metallic tones and 303-tinged bass stabs found throughout ‘Standers’.

10.07.2020

Purveyors of contemporary electronic music Anagram return with their second remix EP that calls upon some of the scene's most compelling and uncompromising names. Coalescence, the next chapter from the label, will unfold as a series of remix EP's reinforcing the labels core values of community, togetherness and growth. The first instalment reflects on their previous three releases reimagining four titles under the controls of Drugstore resident Tiljana T, Ostgut Ton legend Ryan Elliot, Klockworks artist Newa and the Tel Aviv based Yotam Avni. Orchestrating the rework of Elad Magdasi's 'Liquid Dreams' is Serbian talent Tiljana T who runs with the cinematic ideas behind the original but uses snapping hits, ebullient bass notes and plenty delay to fuel the cut with a new lease of life. The accompanying A-side sees Ryan Elliott do what Ryan Elliot does best by keeping things straight up four to the floor transforming 'Sound of the Siren' by Barbara Ford into pulsating peak hour material. On the flip side are two remixes taken from label co-founder Sinfol's latest solo EP 'Pull Back'. First up, Newa gets the blood rushing injecting breaking beats and furious energy into 'Life Of Measure' resulting in a high tempo no-nonsense techno affair that embodies the sound of the bustling Tbilisi scene. Tying together Coalescence Vol. I is arguably the most dynamic choice of the four remixes in Yotam Avni's 'Final Push' Remix. With a meticulous assortment of intricately crafted synth lines and sequences, he manages to deconstruct Sinfol's title cut of its acid workouts and replenish it with an equally rivalled amount of energy. Four artists, four remixes, Coalescence Vol. I!

Back in 1999, the forces behind Robert Johnson, both friends and aides alike, were driven by music and accoutred with a vision, to create a new expansive and collaborative understanding of club culture. To resiliently exist for such a long time, certainly wasn’t laid out in a cunning master plan.

Reeling through the years, we find ourselves in high spirits, regardless of these wicked times today, chuffed and thankful to all the fine people on both sides of the doors, wardrobe, bar, back office or DJ booth: Your love is a life saver2.

Robert Johnson was a master of the American Mississippi Delta blues—a mystical figure, legendary blues singer and guitar player in his own right—who, as the proverbial saying goes, traded his soul to the devil in return for unparalleled guitar skills. Whether this trade actually happened, we shall never know. What we do know is, that Robert Johnson has devoted himself to his music—in this spirit and in our own labyrinthine paths, we devote ourselves to a music club that carries his name. The lines in one of Robert Johnson’s songs advise the living to give all of your spare time, love and to treat her or him, Ed. right, when you got a good friend, that will stay right by your side. A good friend who stayed by our side until his untimely passing earlier this year, was our resident Andrew Weatherall.

Throughout Andrew Weatherall’s decades spanning career, the proper working class lad has been driven by music—not merely into it, as he would have put it, underlining his understate- ment with a chuckle. True to his school of many genres and inspired just as well by literature and art in the far corners, Andrew never would let people know what to expect of him; more often than not testing the musical flexibility and fibre of his audiences, being the notoriously whimsical minister of transcendent expe- rience and alternative fun, who more often than not emanated an air of edwardian dandyism. To the Robert Johnson club and quite a few of its close protagonists, Andrew Weatherall was more than a resident DJ: an excellent spiritual advisor, drawn to subculture and its hidden topoi, who would happily take the piss at any existing rule, as one of his tracks called Frankfurt Advice has literally put it on the record. Few DJs have fully cut the mustard as producers, artists and mentors alike, as Andrew Weatherall has had.

Fail we may, sail we must. Andrew may be physically gone, his spirit and music remains integral and revered at Robert Johnson regardless.

Lifesaver 4 is a compilation as diverse as the nights and mornings on Robert Johnson’s wooden dancefloor. Young talents and seasoned companions have paid their musical tribute in order to celebrate Robert Johnson’s twenty-first year, and to commemorate the sabresonic Captain now resting in his paradise. As the club culture experiences a worldwide disruption in this current stasis, we may find ourselves at the verge of a much needed cultural change. The tracks on this compilation—spread over a sumptuous box set of five vinyls or, mind you, as heavy weight digital files—are the acetates for the future of the Robert Johnson club. At times balearic, discoid, dubby, eccentric, energetic, haunted, lush and raw; they all make the most of it.

Please file under Live At Robert Johnson.

Lifesaver 4 is dedicated to Andrew Weatherall: We salute you!

grey & green marbled vinyl

We're glad to share another vinyl relic by adept veteran Feral. 'Woodland' takes us on a trip through his immaculate craftsmanship and inimitable sound, lacing contemporary minimalist deep dub techno with tribal psychedelia.

Feral consistently carries a thread of spirituality throughout his work. Embodying the sound of deep techno through his passion for audio engineering, hardware experimentation and fascination for percussive instruments, as well as an affinity for the shamanic becomes apparent when we swirl in tribal timbres and rhythms.

Finding comfort in the solitude of his studio; the sounds of Feral unearth the path of his multidimensional world, transporting the listener to a haunting, yet grounding refuge within.

The record will be pressed in two color alternatives and come sheathed inside our custom cut hansaboard sleeves, printed in full color with an oil painting by Gabriella Holmstrom.

Valentino Mora pres. - Transcendental Movements Vol. 1 2x12"

Transcendental Movements Vol. 1 marks the beginning of a new full-length ambient series, curated by IDO founder Valentino Mora. Since the age of 14, Mora has been searching for alternative tools to relieve anxiety. In 2016, he discovered the music of Marow and Olaf Tonstein and found that through listening to this particular music he was able to access a new state of meditation. This began the journey of researching the technique he calls 'active mediation'. When he discovered that a lot of Marow and Olaf Tonstein's music from 2009 had never been released on vinyl, he knew he needed to release it one day. In their work, Mora identified a feeling pertinent to the concept of the label, one that exemplified the connection between minimal/ambient/glitch and IDO's ambient house sound. From there he reached out to other artists that he felt could relate to this idea, and asked them to contribute a track in response to the concept. The resulting compilation varies in tempo and technique, illustrating each artist's idiosyncrasies, yet as a whole it forms a cohesive and potent statement. Active meditation differs from regular stationary meditation through the focusing of one's attention on sound whilst in motion -- the form this motion takes is personal. The goal of active meditation is to transcend one's awareness of motion -- in fact, the awareness of being in a body -- and to become absorbed entirely in the sound. Mora found that this process has the potential to ease anxiety as all conscious thought is alleviated through concentrated focus on music. For the cover artwork, Mora selected a painting from visual artist Raphael Lecoquierre, in which the movement, airiness and minimalism elicits a profound sense of calm. Mora also invited writer and artist, Lou Drago, to interpret the concept in words. Their text, Suspending Reality, features on the inside of the gatefold cover.

Invisible, Inc.
14.05.2020

Incredibly, the five year anniversary of Invisible, Inc. is upon us. Five whole years of bringing you music from the outer reaches and the fringes of obscurity, to the inner workings of your psyche

It seems strange to celebrate this landmark in arguably even stranger times, but perhaps this sort of music is precisely what we need right now. A balm against the stress.

Let's rewind five years to the very beginning. Invisible Inc was started with the aim of releasing music to a wider audience that deserved wider attention. Amongst the new music there was also vast amounts of music previously only available digitally that seemed to vanish as quickly as it appeared...or music that came out on self-released CDrs or cassettes in incredibly small runs; music that deserved being brought out on vinyl to actual record stores worldwide and thus helping those artists widen their fanbase. Thus, connections were made that wouldn't have been made otherwise. It's undeniable that now more than ever, a physical release stands out from the billions of digital-only releases that we can all so easily drown in.

In the five years of its existence the label has certainly grown. I would never have thought that I would release music by such luminaries as Tonto's Expanding Head Band, Laraaji and K. Leimer - all 'veteran' artists with a legacy that I have been in awe of for years.

But as much as there are a few 'established' names appearing on the catalogue now, the ethos of unearthing unheard-of musical gems and getting them out there remains.

V is for Vision is no different. 'Kailash' by Sigward & Oliver Sudden, for instance. Originally relased digitally-only in 2018, it's a stunning piece of dark, downtempo electro with a distinct nod to minimal wave and synth goth that I very proudly present here on vinyl for the first time.

Don’t let that fool you that the label could ever be described as a 'reissue' label. The aim was always to find music that had gone so far under the radar that it would be widely considered as sounding as fresh as the day it was made. And in that respect much of the compilation features artists that are extremely ‘fresh’ at the moment...and this is deliberate. I specifically approached artists who had released some of my favourite music of 2019: Anatolian Weapons, Youkounkoun, Puma & The Dolphin, Golden Bug & In Fields and TCB. These five artists released some seriously amazing music in 2019 that you should hunt down at all costs.

Add to this artists already released on Invisible Inc: Secret Circuit, Sordid Sound System and Double Discone (the former two on board since the very beginning, the latter appearing for the first time just earlier this year) and we have a selection of artists both old and new that I feel widen the span of the five years of the label as much as possible.

Whether any of the background info and the label's ethos makes any difference whatsoever is of course debatable ....the long and short of it is the music is absolutely wonderful and that's what matters. So I'm honoured to be able to share it with you.

Ela Minus - acts of rebellion

Domino are extremely proud to present ‘acts of rebellion’, the debut album from Ela Minus. ‘acts of rebellion’ is a call to fight, to live, to be present. An optimistic, uplifting album, it’s a record of small details and grand gestures, a manifesto of simplicity, a record brimming with life. Colombia-born and raised musician Ela Minus wrote, performed and produced the collection entirely alone. Selfmade and punk in spirit - Ela puts her own spin on traditional electronic music.
She designs and builds hardware synthesizers and, as a self-imposed rule, no sound in her work is generated inside a computer. Creating complex, technical electronic music that exudes a vibrant warmth and a stark, celebratory affirmation that our breaths aren’t infinite. A collection of songs about the personal as political and an embracing of the beauty of tiny acts of revolution in our everyday lives. Throughout, a sense of urgency and a call to arms is mixed with this love and appreciation for reality - because even revolutionaries need to leave space for simple human interaction.

Mall Grab - How The Dogs Chill, Vol. 1

Producer & DJ Mall Grab has announced his new EP 'How The Dogs Chill, Vol. 1', on his brand new imprint 'Looking For Trouble.' The new release arrives ahead of Mall Grab's upcoming 'Looking For Trouble' tour, including a London headline show on 6th October at E1.

The 25 year old's latest record follows one of last summer's biggest house releases - 'Pool Party Music' on DJ Haus's ever-excellent Hot Haus Recs, as well as a collaborative EP earlier this year alongside Loods on Steel City Dance Discs, the label he runs with his friends Jarred Kennedy and Jackson Fitzsimmons. Having emerged in 2015 with the infectious 'Feel U' EP, the strength and evolution of Jordon's productions has firmly established him as one of dance music's most exciting talents.

The new EP arrives in the middle of another busy period for Mall Grab. Having played well over 100 shows in the last year, he just curated the London event Long Live Southbank - a one off fundraiser party supporting the restoration of Southbank's hallowed Undercroft skate space, which was streamed by Boiler Room. Having grown up skateboarding the event's cause was a particularly special one for Jordon. About to embark on his much anticipated 'Looking For Trouble' tour throughout September and October and with more shows through November & December in Japan and Australia, Mall Grab will close out 2018 on a high.
