Following a meteoric rise that has seen them attain a fanbase ranging from superstar DJs to genuine immortals like Martin Gore, Scottish prodigies Clouds return with their boldest statement yet, placing them firmly at the forefront of the new wave of UK techno.

Fully battle-tested after a tour of duty as Tiga's top-secret DJ weapon, "Consciousness" fuses the energy and vitality of Clouds' early stadium-friendly output with the ideas, craft and skill of high-minded techno veterans. The track gets remixed by two of today's freshest UK underground dance minds. Hot off a release on Blawan and Pariah's Works the Long Nights imprint, Ireland's Sunil Sharpe hooks the original up to an acid IV before pounding your face into every square inch of the warehouse floor. Meanwhile, London's Randomer - responsible for some of our favorite records of the past year on Numbers and Hemlock - pushes the proceedings into uncharted peak-time blackout territory.

The release is rounded out by another original from the astonishingly young production duo. "Sonic Swamp" plumbs the depths of sparse, clanging percussion and emerging with an after-hours monster.

Clouds have arrived, even as they continue to evolve. At this point, nothing they go on to do would surprise us.

Tenebrae's "Element EP" is the third release of Grinch Productions, a label specialising is deep and dark electronic music. The tracks "Cold Forged" and "Element" incorporate found sounds and effects from industrial environments to give the music a sense of machine-like movement. The heavy pulse of the tracks attempts to capture a feeling of the technological driving force behind modern civilisation. Also featured is a remix of "Element" by the Grinch himself. This track follows on from the theme of the release and adds a hypnotic broken rhythm to the formula.

Perc Trax's Welsh born, London based acid wizard Truss returns after the success of his recent releases on Sigha's Our Circula Sound imprint and his remix (in collaboration with Sigha) of Perc's own 'You Saw Me'.

'Ganymede is Truss' first Perc Trax outing since 'Osbasten' back in summer 2010 and from the outset demonstrates how far his sound has progressed. Fusing the attitude of classic early R&S with modern techno, he layers razor sharp hoover stabs over a heavily swung, bass-laden groove to unique effect.

Remixes come from fast-rising Semantica/Horizontal Ground producer Skirt and label boss Perc. The former deepens the track, adding more atmospherics over the original's broken beat kick, whilst Perc sharpens up the hoover stabs even more and adds layer upon layer of his trademark junkyard percussion.

Rounding off the EP is 'Hackney', a 4/4 jackin' acid stomper, with a sound that is at the forefront of the current UK renaissance in stripped down, in-yer-face techno.

On our 40th vinyl release of Audio Assault we are happy to present none other than Spanish duo Exium, responsible for a long list of quality releases the last ten years on labels such as Warm Up, Planet Rhythm, Pole, Labrynth and their own imprint Nheoma. Last year they presented their first full length album, which got heavy support and rotation from the industry main players. For their long awaited return on Audio Assault they deliver three quality tunes with a typical Exium flavor; forward thinking, but always with a connection to the classic techno sound.

Following up after the mental drop by Detroit's Master of Repetition, Population One, we have a new signing hailing from the Land of the Rising Sun, helping us to set the standards for this new imprint— uncompromised techno funk! Japanese producer Imugem Orihasam has spent the past 3 years slowly evolving. His early work on Ilian Tape and Esperanza sounds like that of an already seasoned craftsman digesting Detroit bit by bit, with a focus on lush textures and swooning eerie melodies.

Herbert House music fans will not be disappointed by this clutch of rare tracks, available for a short time on vinyl. After such an overwhelming positive response to Matthew Herbert's recent return with the Wishmountain project 'Tesco', Accidental records have decided to release this limited run 12' featuring some of the highlights of the original project., including the classic 'Radio'.
Radio was first championed by Djs such as Sven Vath and Westbam as well as being a club classic for legendary clubs like Fuse in Belgium. The track blasted its way in to nightclubs around the world despite being made only from 8 sounds of a beaten up plastic radio. In many ways it made Matthew's name, as someone ready to bring real and challenging sounds to the largely synthetic soundscape of club music while being unafraid to make people dance at the same time.

The first track, "If my eyes are true", is a love song written and interpreted by Carolina Bubbico, a pretty and ingenious italian girl who already achieved fame with her female rock band Lola & the Lovers.
The second track is a very old popular song reworked by Cristian Carpentieri and Donatello "Cusci" (keyboard player of Steela, famous dub band in Italy). "Lu Rusciu de lu Mare" is a dialect song from popular tradition of south of Italy and speaks about an impossible love between a princess and a soldier, the song was written many centuries ago.
The other two trax are the new EP by italian Nite Clerks and russian Attaboy, title is "In the Clouds" and it's a deep journey into contemporary house music. The remix is by James Mile.

'Sonntag Morgen' was born from the idea of two young italian DJ / Producers, 'Tracy' and 'MTD'. Japan's finest techno export is back. Since his last release for Token in 2010, Go Hiyama has graced other heavyweight techno institutions like Stroboscopic Artefacts, Perc Trax & Audio Assault. Now he returns to Token, following Phase's highly acclaimed 'Binary Opposition Reprocessed' earlier this summer.

'Arc One' contains 3 tracks, each with a different timbre. 'Farnsworth House' focuses on hazy atmospherics over a stomping drum pattern, while 'Dymaxion Map' is a more of an instant heavy hitter with punishing percussion.
Go keeps the best for the flip side track. 'Fallingwater' builds slowly over a tough yet sophisticated off beat rhythm. Tension grows while the haunting noisy synths lead to a thrilling breakdown, after which it kicks back in ferociously.

Inner Drive is a new electro-progressive-acoustic-house project of Dash feat. Mina L. from Belgrade (Serbia). In co-operation with a guitarist, live drums they produced their debut album 'Music Fetish' in ReSound Studio. The studio is located in Voždovac, a part of Belgrade where you can find the Vi Två Records office too. 'Music Fetish' contains 10 original tracks + a bonus remix of Liquid Sound´s 'Cloud Hunter'.

After a 10 year absence, Portugal's Question of Time Records returns in 2012 with brand new vinyl and digital releases. The label was a hugely influential house and techno imprint in the mid 1990s, with everyone from Sven Väth to Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, Mr. C, Tony Humphries, and DJ Pippi having supported its groundbreaking releases in the early days.

The label's first release of 2012 comes from QoT label boss and long-serving Portuguese DJ hero J. Daniel. The 'Change It' EP features six wildly different mixes of Daniels' new single (four tracks will be released on vinyl). Two of the mixes come from the co-founder of the new QoT - ambient house techno experimentalist Aqob. Overall the package is an entirely absorbing, intelligent and unique club EP that is impossible to categorise. It firmly sits outside the realms of today's club trends.

Giegling records opens 2012 with a release on their Staub sub label delivering some amazing adavanced techno tracks that ar extremly well programmed. Exciting tracks that roll somewhere between the classic berlin dusty and dubby techno sound and a deeper poetical industrial vibe. Recommended!

Breaking-through in Berlin is not an easy task and thats exactly what Mike Wall, the latest artist to join the Hidden Recordings family is doing with a remarkable release showcasing the versatility, artistry and pure soul that goes into making music for the big room. Mikes talent first came to Hidden Recordings with his darker, jacking rendition of (014HR) M.A.D.A. + Planktons Antiz. Additioanlly, his inventive, high octane jams have found themselves on such high profile labels such as Sleaze, On and On and Pluseins.
