The roots of proper Detroit techno are wrapped all around this new M_REC Ltd. release.
Madrid-based producer Aikan drops three new tracks on this 12": 'First Balance' is basically a subdued dancefloor anthem, structured to surprise. There's melody, kick and experimentation, delivering in every sense. 'Second balance' pays tribute to those hypnotic melodies that we all recognize as techno staples.
On the flip side, Regis (undoubtedly one of the most relevant techno acts of the last 20 years) re-interprets 'Second Balance' boosting its most sinister side, playfully manipulating industrial and acid elements. What comes out is an exciting, but contained apocalypse that makes all rooms vibrate. To close the EP, 'Third Balance' turns all acid elements to overdrive, celebrating the techno that plays late at night, where layers and layers are interlaced to drive things forward.
Balance is another chapter fitting M_Rec Ltd. idea of techno as a clearly defined school, but with boundaries meant to be pushed in all directions.

After the great response from our first release on 1:53.2 with Cari Lekebusch under his pseudonym as Jade Mantis and Zoe Xenia we continue with the second release of 1:53.2 with another one of our heroes: Jesper Dahlbäck!

A man that needs no presentation with some of the most seminal releases in dance music history to his name. Except for releases under his own name, Jesper Dahlbäck is the man behind producing a series of hits for artists like Tiga. With releases on Turbo Recordings, Mobilee Records, SVEK, Drumcode, H-Productions and his own ISL records he is one of the most respected guys in this game.

For this release Jesper brings us an 80s disco flavored House EP that has got summer vibe written all over it!

The lead tracks Miffo and Donna are beautiful house tracks that takes your imagination on a ride to early morning sets.
Tanden is a very cleaver toolish techno track that Jesper has been using for years in his sets. We are very happy and proud that he has chosen 1:53.2 as the label to release this frequently asked for track.

A very juicy 12"... the now out of print Actress remix finds it's way onto vinyl again (yey, it's so good!) and an unreleased Convextion re-slap of Terrence Dixon is dug out from the vault...mad drama style...TIP!

Vanguard Sound is back with it's newest record. Chris Mitchell's Phrenetic EP! is Vanguard Sound's second release.
Coming on the heels of the wildly popular Vanguard Sound vol. 3, this EP continues to uphold the aesthetic created with the first release, while simultaneously expanding it. The second release on Red Sonja is a remix by the American Luke Hess, with Detroit techno beats and dub touches that are characteristic for this artist; this all leads to an atmospherical track that breaks in a hysterical musicality above everything else. Vasco Ispirian makes a remix with a touch of house, techno and dub, an interpretation rich in sounds that culminate in crescendo. This track has a dynamic pace, without doubt, to dance.

The original track was already quite something in itself. Secret Cinema's reinterpretation of SLS' "Broken Squares" takes us well and truly down the funky techno road, deftly retaining the glitchy flavour of the original, whilst adding a touch of that old school feeling and successfully delivering a peaktime bomb thats equally at home in either a techno or a tech-house set ! Witness some serious progression, a wickedly wobbling bass and some deliciously broken beats, making this huge track fun and accessible for dancers and DJ's alike.
Leave your expectations at the door. Mikael Nordgren, AKA Tiger Stripes, well known in techno's ahead of the curve circles for his massive slamming tunes like 'Eden' or for his tightly wrapped tech-house beats, surprises us, adeptly flirting with dub techno in his awesome reworking of SLS' "Four To The Floor". This is a very heavy minimal track, reminiscent more than anything else, of "deep-down-into-dub" artists like Quantec or Marco Furstenberg. The deeper of the four versions of "Four To The Floor" as released on Ground Factory. It retains the musical atmosphere of the original material while turning it into one of those intense and evocative slow heavy techno moments, with a relaxed mood and a subtle progression.

It seems that dance music is an everlasting quest for new and fresh hybrids. Dimitri Batsis aka Dans Mon Salon, introduces a work which will be loved by music enthusiasts and dj's alike on the upcoming Amplify label. His attempt to 'renovate' all rave feelings of the early 90's is obvious while keeping it fresh and contemporary.

Electric Envoy consist of Sven Dedek and Marco Polo and they relaunched one of their famous projects from the past into todays formats with three fat Techno and Detroit influenced tracks for their first release on AFU Limited !
sven started producing in 1992 with the commodore amiga and did a lot of tracks for games for this computer. .. in 1995 sven met alex bau (his toneman partner) with whom he collaborated to release an ep on chris liebing's 'touchtone' label that would be out in 1996 and be the beginning of a set of releases on renowned labels as touchtone, fine audio, shokoy, dave angel's rotation, pascal feos's pv-records and chris liebing's clau, not to mention ascend recordings of course. .. as a live performing artist, sven became quite talented and daring, so that his live acts have become an essential part of his musical existence. his performance at the world famous "omen" in 1998 was a milestone in sven's career: "playing there, means you are part of it!" "we spend more and more time in the studio together and we finally had the wish to establish our own label while releasing for other labels. 'toneman' has enabled them to form their musical identity, and it is also a quality trademark in the techno scene. .. sven..s main attitude is probably perfectionism. there is no limit when it comes to improvement of sound or liveappearences. although he learned to evaluate exactly, if the track maybe gets to complicated for the floor, he never stops trying to make his productions interesting and changing... as mentioned, sven has released eps for fine audio, parasound, energy industries, rotation (dave angel's), toneman (his own), clr (chris liebing..s), pv-records (pascal feos), predicaments (justin berkovi..s) and ascend recordings as well as for many more labels. for details take a look at the discography at his website http://www.myspace.com/svendedek!

Summer's gone, our yearly Tomorrowland madness has passed and so we hit your eardrums again with some techno. This time, straight outta Berlin, two tracks by our Berlin based twisted sister, Mary Velo. So of course, you can expect techno at it's rawest, and a truely suprising remix by Delsin wonderboy (and our hero) Conforce.

Following on from the dark atmosphere of 'Black Waves', Drums Of Death returns with the next in the sequence: 'Red Waves'. Four tracks of ecstatic electronics displaying it's makers love for techno and house music, all ramped up with big sounds and stripped back arrangements.'Tear The Box Apart' opens the EP with marching snares rolling under a massive lead synth. Toms, snares and claps... the classic palette of the 808 drum machine is well covered but it's the unique poly-rhythmic synth work and angular arrangements that set the track apart from those of retro-fetishists.Cheeky and fun, 'The Jerk' shows that simple elements do a big roller make. So addictive, it's the bouncing bass and buzzing lead that drag you along. A UK Garage groove takes control whilst the hollowed out barrel toms go for the gut.'Venice Beach' crafts bright chords that swirl and build. The infectious melody makes way for pitched bleeps and a towering 'Reese' bassline. Tested extensively in DoD's frenzied live shows, 'Venice Beach' is the glowing, melodic heart at the centre of the adrenaline-fuelled 'Red Waves' collection.In 'Bang The Drum' Drums Of Death talks to us through a vocoder... 'Just bang the drum and kill the noise, mute the synth and then the voice'. Hardly a ballad, this missive represents the newer Drums of Death sound... taught, electronic machine funk. Holding reverence for techno's godfathers but also for it's wayward children like Cristian Vogel, an elastic bassline lurches around rattling 909 hi-hats. 'Bang The Drum' rounds off a highly energetic EP that continues the 'Waves' odyssey of it's composer.

Holland's deep electronic specialist Conforce is to release his next full-length work, Escapism, on Delsin Records in November 2011.
