The two Kling Klong chiefs Martin Eyerer & Rainer Weichhold decided to give more space to new talents and this time it's their new discovery Vangelis Kostoxenakis from Greece. With his fabulous sound design, unbeatable musicality and great sense for effective floor fonctionality this decision was rather easy. Also thanks to an additional remix by defected artist David Herrero this release looks like a great start for this new chief in the making.

Originally pressed in 1998 we rediscovered some original stock from the archives of Super 8 which brings us a blueprint of pumping, stripped down and dubbed out Minimal House with these two long, slowly building but still fascinating untitled tracks, crafted in the studio of electronic music veteran Khan. Must have!

Shinedoe - Illogical Directions

A day in the life of Shinedoe, expect anything. With dance music currently exploding
into a multi coloured crossbreed it's tempting to take things as far as possible. And
that's exactly what this Amsterdam based DJ does on her long awaited third album.
Illogical Directions is about letting go, about an artist completely liberated in her studio,
making music by the heart and processing all her experiences into one impressive trip.
For sure, the third time's a charm.

Another lesson learned, to pigeonhole Shinedoe is merely impossible after listening to this
record. Unlike ten years ago, when she made her way to DJ stardom with the release of the
omnipresent club hit Dillema, soon followed by debut album Sound Travelling. It made her
one of the faces of the soon wildly popular minimal sound -techno music in a stripped but
extremely funky manner was a specialty reserved for a DJ like Shinedoe.

Stronger than the music itself, she kept reinventing herself. Techno and house music remained
her foundations, from there the Dutch notoriety took her grooves to a completely other level.
In 2010, sophomore album No Boundaries saw Shinedoe venture into more rooted genres like
jazz, funk and dub. Her true identity was emerging, things were getting even more interesting.

Illogical Directions
Now, four years later, precisely in the year Shinedoe will be celebrating the tenth birthday of
her renowned imprint Intacto Records*, she's made a journey further down that path. As if
she's completing a trilogy, the album Shinedoe has shaped is nothing less than the
culmination of everything she stands for. A tour de force of highly organic dance music
bringing together the euphoria of club music with moody, more introvert songs. Illogical
Directions is, simply put, exactly the album you'd want Shinedoe to make.

'When I produce music, it comes from my heart and soul', she explains. 'I don't want to
make rational choices, it's important the music can move in any direction, even if it doesn't
really make sense. It's the only way to completely feel free, to avoid getting trapped in some
sort of format. As a result, these new tracks all have their own feeling and identity, you can't
label them to one particular sound. It definitely was a challenge bringing them all together,
but it works!'

The most extraordinary about this, the typical Shinedoe sound is still intact, even when she
impressively demonstrates all her various sounds within the first couple of tracks. Kicking
things off with the slowed down, dubby track Release Yourself and the mechanical house tune
Essence, there's immediately a certain tension building up. The jazzy deephouse of Alto
Parisio takes things further, followed by the just as incredible Discourse My New Romance, a
dark and twisted dancefloor track featuring The Knife's Karin Dreijer.

From that moment on, anything can happen. Sleek deephouse (Panomanic, Fe-Male, the
beautiful anthem-like Not So Far), cool electro (Pressure Dome) as well as classic house with
a soulful touch (Circle Of Life featuring the infectious vocals of Miss Bunty). It's more
mesmerizing and melodic than ever, even though Shinedoe also enters a darker and more
gritty world with tracks like God's Love and Get Dirty -another uncharted terrain she's
familiarized herself with.
As said, Shinedoe has surpassed expectations. Illogical Directions takes you to loads of
unexpected sensations with a collection of music you rarely hear put together. But she's done
it, delivering an album that pulls you up and brings you back down again. So, whatever you
have in mind, get ready for one of 2014's most ingeniously crafted dance albums, presenting a
variety of emotions unusual in this particular genre. Some illogical directions indeed, but we
love it.

The anticipated second release from Los Angeles/Seattle imprint Slumdiscs comes in the form of a 12" from two artists who have each had a prolific year, refining their respective takes on dark electronics. Side A features three tracks from Italian producer Morkebla (Where To Now/Reckno). He utilizes ethereal synths to create vast, mind expanding soundscapes just as suited for club use as they are for deep meditation. Side B is provided by Portland artist Best Available Technology (Astro:Dynamics/Working Nights). Contained within is an experiment in variations and reductions that rewards close listeners with a glimpse into the slow decay of self-contained sonic ecosystems. ''Go Slumming'' marks the first full length collaboration between the two artists and showcases the best of their respective styles.

Haarp Da war doch was. Verschwörungstheorien, eine riesige Sendeanlage in der Einöde Alaskas, Experimente zur Erforschung der Fortbewegung von Elektronen in der Atmosphäre. Und damit wären wir bei HAARp und "Don't Fuck Up My High", dem ersten Gemeinschaftsprojekt drei sehr unterschiedlicher Berliner Künstler. Atmosphärisch, harmonisch, treibend, tanzbar und geheimnisvoll, so präsentiert sich HAARp auf den vier Techno-Tracks, die als 180 Gramm schweres 12-Inch-Vinyl und digitaler Download erscheinen. Wer genau hinhört, wird belohnt, da sich beständig neue Klangebenen und Melodien offenbaren. Immer wieder tauchen mysteriöse Stimmen auf, was sie sagen spielt keine Rolle. "Don't Fuck Up My High" wurde in den Studios des Marzahner ORWOhaus produziert und die Plattencover in zwei Versionen von Hand gesiebdruckt - man spürt die Liebe zum Detail, zur Abgeschiedenheit und zum Selbermachen. Established in 2009 - Roots United is a large formation of people who share mutual preferences in music and art - for more than 5 years remains one the main visionaries of electronic scene in St.Petersburg. It is not just a music community - running their own monthly events Roots United earned status of the most conceptual and noisy techno / house parties with over a hundred foreign artists in the list.
Today, the 5 years of Roots United foundation will be commemorated with the first vinyl release of an eponymous record label, authored by the crew resident - Nocow.
Nocow also known as Aleksei Nikitin, a St. Petersburg-based electronic artist who got his music released through various European and Russian record labels such as Fauxpas, Styrax, Ethereal Sound, GOST and many more. Gathering influence from dozens of different genres, Nocow never has a bee in his bonnet as you won't ever guess where his next piece will lead you to. Pushing his music from soothe and calm ambient tunes to Detroit-ish dancefloor killers, Nocow is also a welcomed guest both in small underground clubs (somewhere in Far East) and Berlin's finest techno venues.
He is one of the few Russian electronic music artists who has been participating in Boiler Room events and mentioned at XLR8R, De:bug and Resident Advisor features.

French CEDRIC PEYRONNET (aka TOY BIZARRE) is currently one of the most impressive composers using / processing pure nature recordings, and shaping them into something beyond the known... his soundscapes are full of details and circling dynamics but keep a floating & atmospheric character... like ARTIFICIAL MEMORY TRACE, ERIC LA CASA or FRANCISCO LOPEZ, this is not just a recording of "what was", but a scheme of what could be!

A quest for form which is never static and accompanied by two constants - repetition and reduction. Reduction requires repetition in order to make the intangible tangible for man. This repetition also stimulates our perception and helps us find an inner self while illuminating towards the primal thought. Another synonym for 'intangible' is 'not human' - for the most reductive of primal thoughts, sprung from fractal chance, does not deal with human beings but with a formal language that is universal, drawing from the innermost, and only becomes tangible in accidental, fortuitous moments. Our efforts to free this formal language, by means of fragmentation, from the human conventions that bind us to overabundance, turns out to be - in our limited human perception - a never-ending search for artistic discovery. Repetitive Juxtaposition LP takes up two individual, but in their essence mutual, interpretations of seeking and breaking form, and places them - not opposite but next to each other.

The World In Pieces by Alfons Knogl is a musical reflection about the unrestrained and powerful transformation of Istanbul. Composed during a residency there it is like a blueprint for changing social structures. They are followed by huge emotional imbalances in coexistence notwithstanding that the aesthetic density of the metropolis appears entirely marvelous.

Keep up with the present or time will pass you by. Electronic music is in a constant state of development and so is IWW labelhost Maxâge. His personal artist biography urges the reader to expect big things and his newest release the D.O.C. 1988 EP clearly shows that Maxâge wants to keep this promise. Scabies and Embidi might resemble Maxâges earlier work in terms of spaced out vocals and driving midlevel basslines but Maxâge is not the guy to rest on his laurels. He has certainly risen the bar regarding complexity and level of detail whilst paying homage to the past with a hinted acid reference. Also Maxâge's everlasting love for Italy is yet again represented by long time labelfriend LEON who delivers a jackin' remix for Scabies!

Péché Mignon Records is a french based House/techno label founded in October 2013 by Ludwig Spatz and Lorenzo Lacchesi.

Acedia EP is Péché Mignon Records' eighth release, and first release of the duo Easy Morph on PMR. The duo met the label in 2015, seduced by their project, values and love for music. The beginning of a new adventure was felt by the duo and pushed them to release their first EP 'Acedia'.
