Superb singing acid melodious and mental music...

'Det Ar Grymt I Norr' is a compilation of exclusive tracks by artists reflecting the contemporary Swedish underground electronic music scene: ALVAR, Celldod, Dissocio Modus Trans, Hjarnkultur, Agent Side Grinder, Kinder aus Asbest, AEmit and Yabibo Hazurfa (special Scandinavian letters not included). The title of the compilation, Swedish for 'It's grim up north', describes the atmosphere perfectly - in Swedish, 'grymt' also means cool. The gloomy cover was designed by Erik Soderberg. Subtitled 'Swedish Synthetic Darkness', the music on the album is intense, hard and cold at first listen but boiling with emotions underneath the surface. Expect industrial, EBM, coldwave, acid and everything on the spectrum between electro and ambient. Thank you for the music.

Roman Lindau is back and in true Lindau fashion delivers three groove heavy, red hot tunes ready for full on dance floor destruction with his 'Acid Bells' EP. The title track 'Acid Bells' fires off with agile percussion before quickly adding an infectious melody and vocal snaps brimming with attitude before finally unleashing a timeless acid hook which solidifies all the elements into a massive, peak time occasion. 'Rough Ride' follows suit but takes a more modish approach with lively grooves and hypnotic, whirling sonics that guarantee a wild floor burner. Wrapping things up is the final track 'I'm Restless' which perfectly balances powerful, four-to-the-floor Techno with moody, uplifting melodies assuring those moments where all eyes are closed and all hands are in the air. The first two releases of Michael Frosinone on his own imprint "Unpredictable" are already a collector's item, and have been played by house and techno djs all around the world. The third release of the american veteran engineer who doesn't like too much to interact with the music press and the show business is a maxi single with two dancefloor anthems arranged and mastered in his majestic analogue studio. Both tracks are pounding and acidic, with tight drums and a strong dance-appeal. An essential release, that would be limited to 300 copies, as a desire of Michael to have a closer relationship with his fans.

Audiotrophe Ernaehrung kicks of his vinyl debut on Wout Records with a massive 4 tracker EP.
"Greifswalder", "Structure" and "Defects" are full of dubby basslines, melodic synth abstractions, rotating percussions, vocal snippets and endlessly moving sound effects, a clear musical reflection of Berlin's electronic music scene and a demonstration of AE's ability to present diversity.
This EP ends up with a raw, straight forward and deeply driven remix of "Greifswalder" produced by the Italian collaboration Mood_Out and Dinkis.

The jam starts with "Orange Sunshine" (doesn't it always) Of course as usual it takes a while to kick in and by the time it does it's obvious Helltown Acid Militia are back with their time warping spaceship. By the second track "Still Turning" the fog clears a little, but there are still echoes of a time past, what is it can't quite put my finger on it... On the flip we are met with chunky 909 rhythms in "More Important", because what's more important than a 909 rhythm track For the final outing "Broadcast" (which may be the real hidden gem here) the tempo drops and there's chord stabs, strings and talk of UFOs. Its at this point that you realise that the label on the record has a picture of Mitzi the cat, in a SPACE SUIT, HOLDING A WHITE 303!! This acid really is a trip.

One of our most mysterious and intriguing states of consciousness is the dream. We lose consciousness when we enter the deep waters of sleep, only to regain it as we emerge into a series of uncanny private realities. Through the fog of the mind we can get a glimpse of a world beyond our day to day realities that sometimes is able to show us deeper truths than those we face in awake states. We're very happy to welcome Dutch-born German-raised Roger van Lunteren on SoHaSo for the first time. His Rosa Dos Ventos Ep is a four-track story that oozes retro vibes and nostalgia for a past that never seems to have existed. Utilizing raw 80's analog synths and humanoid acid lines he sets atmospheres that remind of Lynchian dreamscapes.

Vanish starts out with an emotional chord sequence, as you enter the fluid world of the subconscious. A gnarly bassline welcomes your arrival and lets you know things here aren't exactly what they seem. Journeying on through seemingly dark areas, it ends with a hopeful melody and the bass softens as you start feeling weightless. Uncontacted uses choral pads and two intertwining 303 sequences as a way of communicating between the different dimensions.

Aroy Dee remixing Vanish is like taking a psychotropic liquid, adding more drive to the original while retaining the emotive synth patterns. Sleepless is Roger's hardest cut on the record, again providing directly plugged in 303 goodness and stomping beats. It rounds off a balanced ep with plenty of introspective dance material.
