Progression..., like a spark shooting through fiber optic cable or a bullet train churning through the next tunnel, the acid-techno arrangements of Detroit-based DJ/producer Rebecca Goldberg have a velocity to them that's spurred by reverence for the roots of electronic and techno music conceived in her hometown, from the Belleville Three to 'the Godmother of House Music,' DJ Stacey 'Hotwaxx' Hale.

Palpable in the pulse of Goldberg's latest EP 313 Acid Queen is an urgent and inspired, cool and confident sense of picking up a proverbial torch, of propulsion along with preservation, of continuation as well as re-invention. Born vigorously forth upon the blooms and grooves of her synth scores for these five songs is the sharpest demonstration, yet, of her signature sound and vision.

313 Acid Queen reaches to and re-enlivens the traditions of Detroit techno with Roland's contemporary iterations of the 808, 909 and 303 drum machines, quintessential sonic characters utilized by the region & genre's seminal producers. The title refers, also, to the Detroit area's predominant telephone area-code, as she audibly reaches out to touch the essence of her city's distinct and dynamic neighborhoods and landscapes, most evidently with the field recordings from city streets and the animal populace inhabitants in the majestic Belle Isle Aquarium.

These kinetic, contemplative and coolly exhilarating tracks were conceived to carry on the tradition of Detroit acid techno in the contemporary world. Fittingly, Goldberg's first vinyl release comes on March 13t h (3/13), distributed internationally through Detroit Underground, a multidisciplinary arts collective & record label. Goldberg's fellow Detroit producer Ryan McCray has a deep sound and keen sensibility for acid techno all his own; he fell in love with the 313 Acid Queen track 'Aquarium' and remixed it to be an exclusive bonus track for the vinyl release.

A warm human hand sculpts the icy machine-like sounds into a meticulous harmony over undulating bass and entrancing snares, clasps and industrial heartbeats. This continuous circulation of sound and its ever beating rumbling-flexed sub bass found in Rebecca Goldberg's newest batch of acid-techno arrangements effectively replicate the natural functions of omega 3, or -3, fatty acids albeit in musical-form. Whereas ingesting the special carboxylic acids found in plant and marine oils woll fortify your vascular system into a well-oiled machine, Goldberg is using a table of various analog machines to manifest a similar, yet uniquely propulsive flow of energy through a composite of frenetic hi-hats and trudling kick drums, looping under spacey Rolands waving out reverb splashed frequencies coiling synthetic intonations.

The beats reach the feet, the bass unlocks the hips and the synths pull and twist the shoulders, staving off stagnation or decimating a collective clotting - we are loosened in restorative ways to the sleek assemblages of one of Detroit's leading DJs/composers on the electronic music scene. Goldberg's 25-minute odyssey is unceasing in its sinuous stream of mesmeric techno music, as if powered on by relentless agents found in the healthful acids for which this EP gets its title.

Goldberg has distinguished herself by cultivating the seeds of techno into something that designedly meditates on the enduring vitality of the organic and the holistic in our lives--even as our socialization, and maybe even our dance floors, are predominantly digital in character and operation. -3 continues to stimulate our brains in two ways, just like 2017's 313 Acid Queen. Her previous record used field recordings and found sounds from the shores of Detroit's Belle Isle and other neighborhood sidestreets to thread the simple majesty of the flora and fauna that sustains even if at the corners of a concrete metropolis. -3 is bringing you from the outdoors into the inner workings of your body--particularly the blood cells that act as fuel for your limbs, your lungs and your brain. When asked about the story behind the tracks of 'Journey Through The Outer Darkness from the Inner Light', Jamal Moss answered with a laconic "No story. No dogma. No Hype". After all, his despise of extra-musical paraphernalia is proportional to his productiveness in the studio. But there's always a story. On April 9, 2016, Hieroglyphic Being played a live show in La Casa Encendida of Madrid within the festival Electronica en Abril. Some days later, the recording of the full set was uploaded to YouTube. When we watched it, we were totally captivated. Those eighty minutes of music had the raw power of all of Jamal's body of work, but with a heightened sense of transcendence. Cosmic, spiritual and intensely beautiful, it sounded like a lysergic reinterpretation of Detroit techno transmitted from a galaxy yet to be discovered. As most of the material was unreleased, we reached Jamal in order to try to press it into vinyl. The result is 'Journey Through The Outer Darkness from the Inner Light', a 12" that reunites eight of the individual tracks that conformed that Madrid performance. When inquired about AUM, the sacred sound all the tracks are labeled after, Jamal referred us to a book by author and naturalist Joseph Bharat Cornell. A book that the author himself presents with these words: 'The sound of the Cosmic Vibration is AUM, and listening to it brings the greatest bliss imaginable. AUM is the Omnipotent Force that propels each soul toward Spirit. It's the sacred, inner fire. As you approach the cosmic blaze, you feel at first its radiant, soothing comfort; then, as you come closer - AUM's liberating flames consume you - and bring you to God". There might be "no story and no dogma", but, suddenly, it all makes sense.

Following their previous Mantra EP, Polybius Trax present here another three track EP from Mantra showcasing a variety of acid styles. Opening track, Blackout, is a solid, no-nonsense acid techno workout, perfect for a strobe filled warehouse, and features builds and drops layered with ethereal tones. Emanation is a maelstrom of moving synth sounds, bouncing delay lines and vocal-like klaxons that combine to disorientate the listener. Final track, Mirage is a classic bad attitude acid track with an unnerving acid line that weaves in and out of aggressive percussive lines.

Planet Rhythm has come forward with quite some serious VA's throughout the last couple of years. The 109th installment in the ever maintaining vinyl series is exactly that. A compilation that features several of the label's great names combined on one slab of vinyl. Kingfisher EP is a four track counting release consisting of tough tracks that are completely in the vein of the label's recent direction. Intrusive, yet melodic contemporary dancefloor action.

The new incorporation to our label it's called Chris Moss Acid, and arrive on charge of his computerised orchestra, composed by some Roland's like TB303, TR606, TR707, SH101.
He makes his debut with Polybius Trax after work with interesting labels like 030303, Shipwrec, Solar One Music, Rave Or Die, Don't... The Bournemouth one (UK), control with firm hands all the different dimensions of the acid sound, from the most raver and dancing floor focused with strong and thick bass drums and corrosive acid lines like in his tracks 'Black Philip' and 'The Waiting Room', or the most emotional acid with bubbling and slower beats in '48858275.2294438', a lisergic journey of more than 10 minutes.

Oktave Records returns for the third installment from the label, once again featuring owner and proprietor Jeff Derringer at the helm. The 'Factions' EP shows Jeff at his most direct and robust, with three tracks of meticulously constructed techno.

'Factions' starts the EP and goes straight for the heart of the dance floor, with a tunneling groove that lures the listener into hypnosis before a devastating break takes the track to a whole new level of intensity. This one is for the ravers, no doubt.

The flip side starts with 'Penalty Phase', another floor-focused stunner that features Jeff's signature kick drum and drive, coupled with evolving synth arpeggios and melancholy vibes for those early club mornings as the sun comes up. Finally, 'The Second Plane' slows the tempo down a bit and ends the record with a thoughtful broken beat arrangement reminiscent of early Warp.

'Factions' was written during the winter of 2018 and mastered by Tim Xavier at Manmade Mastering.

We welcome Spanish artist Pascual to the DMT family. We have been fan of his work and of the aesthetic of his label Ex Aequo for quite some time now. In typical DMT-style, he delivers 4 tracks that are rough, raw and mental yet full of minimal and subtle grooves. When he came up with 'Basics', we knew we had to do something together. The rest of the E.P. Is on par with the opening track: stripped down no-nonsense techno, aimed directly at the dancefloor.

You know that warm feeling of anticipation, standing on a platform waiting for the train to bring a loved one home to you That's what a new Tilliander record is like for Kontra-Musik. After releasing the monumental Chill Out album under Andreas' Mokira moniker, we took a rather different approach this time, opting for the White Label. Even though the title 'Endor' has nothing to do with the Ewok-inhabited Forest Moon in the Star Wars saga, it's still a decisively green and verdant track, filled with all the sounds of a dense forest. 'Trico' is the quiet lake deep within this forest; a serene spot inhabited with dragonflies, great white pelicans and slinky salamanders that curiously look a bit like Richie Hawtin during his Moby era. We simply love this place and hope that you will too.

Five tracks of beautifully honed, acid-laced electro from Ed Upton, a.k.a. DMX Krew, who continues to be an unstoppable musical force. To pick out two tracks, 'Opening Statement', unsurprisingly the first track on the EP is a complex beast, with pulsing layers of sounds and beautiful melody. 'Stellar Gateway', the title track kicks off the B Side, evoking an cosmic trip, with Ed channelling his inner Space Odyssey 2001 (Ransom Note premiered it on 16 October). Ultimately, this EP showcases what you already know, that Acid doesn't need to be in yer face - it can creep up quietly, but still whisk you away to the dancefloor

Two great DJ tools from prolific Detroit artists Kyle Hall & Kero.

Redimension is the label project of Joseph Capriati and is run as a platform to champion music that showcases the more underground side of his taste in techno. Along with tracks from the label boss himself, it's also featured contributions from Adam Beyer, Anthony Parasole, Flavio Folco and Rino Cerrone.

Now on its sixth release, the labels latest EP is from Klaudia Gawlas, a leading lady in the world of techno who plays DJ gigs all over Europe and other parts of the world. Her skills behind the decks and crowd reading abilities are second to none, and those honed skills have translated into the explosive tracks she produces.

Working with a great number of highly respected record labels she has consistently proven herself to be a skilled producer, and she delivers the goods once again with a stunning four track EP of dark and thundering techno.

The Siren' opens the show with crunching percussion and acid pulses that grow with ominous tension, whilst the dance floor focused framework of the mechanical groove ensures maximum impact. Fast and ferocious, this hard- itting cut takes no prisoners with a menacing sound.

Keeping the same tough vibe, Lightnings' is second on the EP with fast flowing hi-hats, clap rhythms, and hypnotic synth work. The eerie atmosphere present in this immersive cut of ground shuddering techno adds to its overall exhilaration of the track's aggressive style.

Track three Niet' focuses in on a sensual vocal layered over a tough percussive groove, which combine to create a captivating eloquence both unnerving and alluring. Distinctive and full of personality, there is no doubt that for many DJ's this will be the main attraction of the EP.

Closing proceedings is The Whirl' that uses an arpeggiated lead synth to create an uplifting mood to this otherwise sinister cut. Unrelenting in its onslaught, the invigorating strength of the tracks up-tempo and energetic momentum is like a
tsunami of sound.

Paris club kid MAXIME IKO joins BPitch with this five-track trip into the depths of his mind !

Infused with acid licks and electro motifs, this is a scintillating debut from an artist who represents diversity and inclusiveness - two cornerstones of club culture. Maxime's influences range from the gothic, dark and lurid through to the often flamboyant gay culture, launching his own highly-regarded gay event at Rex Club called 'Cockorico' and, later, putting on 'Le Bal Con' at Badaboum - a party that celebrated the wild, creative side of nightlife with art performances and lots of crazing dancing. Maxime's 'Concilium' EP starts with the frenetic 'Achartade', a track which pulsates with eerie vibes, closing with the multi-tempo closer 'Concilium' - a demonstration of Maxime's penchant for playfulness and experimentation. In between those two killer cuts we have 'Repulsion', where the main riff has a jaunty, arpeggiated rhythm, 'Timeline's Wrong', a heads down acid roller with vocal stabs and a totally absorbing atmosphere and finally, 'Closure' a spine-tingling emotionally-charged adventure. One that will lift the roof off anywhere it's played. An accomplished collection from a man who values the roots of electronic music culture and brings his own unique vibe with each performance and new release... allez!

Pearson Sound returns to his own label with 3 varied club tracks. "All three began during a solitary week spent at Devon Analogue Studio, and then they were arranged and mixed in London. 'Rubble' is the sound of two major demolition projects shaking my studio, 'Earwig' is my first (and maybe last) acid track, and 'Our Spirits Soar' is for smokey late-night dancefloors while the house lights creep up". To celebrate reaching our 20th release, we're launching a series of 6 compilation EPs named 'Eel Behaviour'. Starting with a bang through the haunting mechanical acid of Delta Funktionen's 'Alternate Reality', it's followed by uplifting broken techno from exciting new London-based talent Imogen. Autumns enters a more tense area with the slow and dense EBMflavoured 'Recovery' while a barrage of weird, vocal-infused beats from Bristol's Giant Swan, brings the record to a chaotic end on 'The Sun Inside Jaden Smith'.

The Empire strikes back! Phi has dug deep into the Slovenian electronica heritage only to return with the 4th chapter containing three mid 90's unreleased tracks by the cult duo Random Logic. Once the pioneers of adventurous acid and techno sounds having released on labels such as Thee Blak Label and having played in legendary places like the old Ostgut Ton, Random Logic are no strangers in playlists by the braver big shots such as Nina Kraviz. Their signature acid melancholy and drive hasn't aged and syncs perfectly with Phi's growing sci-fi catalogue.

After 3 EPs on Don Williams a.r.t.less imprint munichs TRAP10 start their own label and the debut is a versatile dancefloor EP through and through. While unmistakably influenced by classic 1990ies era techno, the detroit schooled tunes resemble the duos flexibility - be ready for interesting yet effective dj cuts to add to your record collection. A1 'Flight 781 - straight rhythm action with dark chords and a mesmerising bassy melody. B1 'Shakem' - rumbling electro drums and broken beats complemented by a grimy vocal.

Lake Haze returns to One Eyed Jacks for the definitive launch of his "Aranhas" series - a run of releases themed around a fascination with spiders and gut-wrenching, rave-crushing dance music. Tracks such as "Rush Hour" (a sort of proto-aranha) and "Aranha Negra" are now available for the 1st time on vinyl, paired with the highly anticipated OEJ anthems "Aranha de Prata" and "Aranha Vermelha" - standout tracks in the sets of Photonz and Violet in recent months. Last spotted on The Exaltics' Solar One imprint and The Hague's notorious Bunker label, enigmatic producer Q-Chip unleashes a 6-track EP on Gnosis, following the labels inaugural release from Myriadd (aka Mantra).
'Access Consciousness' is the logical 21st Century progression in an electronic music lineage that can be traced from the blueprint laid down by Kraftwerk's 'Man Machine' aesthetic through Drexciya in their various incarnations. Armed with his machines, Q-Chip harnesses the energy of pure voltage and sculpts it into sonic visions of the future, whilst acknowledging the rhythmic foundations of electro. This is music that is in essence synthetic and yet at its core human. Immaculately produced and conceived, utilising precision tooled beats, deep analogue basslines, eerie glacial synth work and economical vocals deployed to maximum effect. Dynamic and inventive arrangements ensure this slab of wax will be in the crates of many discerning electro DJs long into the future and should appeal to any ears seeking Science Fiction through sound.

Darren Allen is back with a strong release on his Underlying Form imprint delivering four more tracks of uniquely crafted minimalism in typical trippy fashion.

Hot off the heels of CDH005 by DJ Lettuce, French imprint Chineurs de House releases Chabha Dassin Hakku, an EP by established Swiss producer Pascal Viscardi.

LA HESS

The EP opens with this engaging tune. It is driven by the sequence of warm and thick TB-303 bassline and drum machine programming reminiscent of Chicago jakbeat. In addition to lush pads, the producer uses dreamy wind instrument sounds as well as arpeggios of a cosmic persuasion. The result is deep and dance-inducing at the same time, and this tune is an efficient but far from simplistic dancefloor weapon.

Tizi Ouzou

Here's another journey of a track, with an elegant sound design that is reminiscent of soft focus in video, where Viscardi shows his impressive production skills. With the raw pulse of the rhythmic section coupled with vintage synth programming, bodies are put in motion. With oriental-sounding melodies, deep chords and hand percussion samples, the mind loses itself. Geared for the dancefloor but almost experimental, this is a very special track waiting to be unleashed by DJs who dare to be different.

Maladie d'Amour

It is impossible to sit still while listening to this track, a slice of robust deep house with a clear African influence. It is built around a highly compelling beat, with a variety of samples, male vocals and dizzying pads. Viscardi reminds us that less is more and he manages to create a classy and floaty tune that is nonetheless geared for the dancefloor.

Village Numérique

This track is a downtempo gem. It's a soulful affair at the crossroads of the Balearic and afro worlds. Percussion sounds, marimba melodies, vintage electric keyboard chords, a plodding bassline, sound FX and spoken word are masterfully combined by Viscardi to close the EP in style with this slow-burning tune.

The Anticipatory Organization is an energetic EP that could only be the work of The Sun God. There are three rousing tracks to stir the attention. The Things We Don't Know is a mesmerising key driven journey. It features gorgeous keyed sparkles, washing waves of acid and clopped beats. The Disbelief Habit is driven by a strong melody that really grabs you and won't let go. This is accompanied by a strong bassline, focused keys and closely held percussion. The Achievement Factory rounds off the EP with another distinctive musical effort that marches straight into the middle of the dancefloor. Punishing percussion and an in-step cavernous bassline are joined by loose acid and riffing keys. Once more, The Sun God delivers as only he can.
