The stunning soundtrack composed by Ennio Morricone for the 1968 movie La Resa Dei Conti, directed by Sergio Sollima and starring Lee Van Cleef, Tomas Milian, Walter Barnes, is finally available again on vinyl since its original 1968 release on Parade (Italy) and United Artists (USA).

The typical Morricone's western tunes are mixed here with avantgarde sounds and delicate romantic themes. Orchestra directed by Bruno Nicolai, featuring Bruno Battisti D'Amario (guitar), Michele Lacerenza (trumpet) and the beautiful voice of Christy.

Two separate lp's sold together in a deluxe pvc sleeve!!! LP1 is the exact reissue of the original album. LP2 contains 11 bonus tracks released on vinyl for the first time.

Composed by unsung composer Andrew Thomas Wilson, the soundtrack is a forgotten piece of 1980s electronic film scoring. A clash between driving electropop and the ominous dirge of John Carpenter's The Thing and The Fog soundtracks. Layers of icy modular Synth and proto techno rhythms serve as the backdrop to the explosive biological-apocalyptic meltdown. 

Described as 'Mad Max meets the China Syndrome', the 1980 Australian film The Chain Reaction is an often overlooked entry in the highly venerated Ozploitation Genre.

A nuclear disaster themed thrill ride into early 80s Australiana and industrial paranoia. Sitting alongside Night Of Fear (1972) and Turkey Shoot (1982) in the outlandish canon of Australian B-cinema from the 1970s and 80s The Chain Reaction includes its fair share of gratuitous nudity, ocker attitude and souped up vehicular carnage, but also carries a skilled visual style and strong environmental message that sets it apart from its less cerebral counterparts.

Fuzz guitars, go-go beats, weird exotic soundscapes and Doris Troy (of 'Dark Side Of The Moon' fame) screaming about gizzards. Only in Rome, only in 1971.

Brilliant but overlooked composer Berto Pisano and (we suspect) his no less talented brother Franco (working under a pseudonym) to craft the perfect score for this drug-fuelled piece of cinematic mayhem.

Recorded at the Orthophonic Recording Studio, Roma 1971 and remastered in 2014 from the original stereo album master tapes this LP includes 2 previously unreleased tracks (one a haunting vocalization from ill-fated star Jean Seberg).

Featuring extensive and exclusive liner notes by Alvin Lucia (documenting the largely unknown and quite incredible history of the making of Kill!) plus original artwork and rare photos/ephemera.

The missing link in the Morricone / Gruppo discography. Their originally unreleased avant / cacophonic score to Elio Petri's manic Artsploitation masterpiece was the first and last time Morricone and Il Gruppo would co-sign an OST/session.

Conducted by Bruno Nicolai with vocalisations by Edda Dell'Orso and drums by Vincenzo Restuccia, A Quiet Place In The Country is an historic (and quite forgotten) recording that sees Il Gruppo in their key gestational phase just prior to recordings for Deutsche Grammophon, RCA Italiana (The Feed-Back) and the magnificent unreleased session, Niente.

Featuring Gruppo di Improvvisazione Nuova Consananza members Franco Evangelisti, Mario Bertoncini, Egisto Macchi, Ennio Morricone, John Heineman and Walter Branchi and recorded at Forum Studios Roma 1968.

Remastered 2014 from the Original Stereo Album Master Tapes (originally prepared by Morricone for a 1968 LP release but for reasons unknown not issued at the time).

Extensive and exclusive liner notes by Andy Votel, original artwork and rare photos/ephemera.

Volume One of this Krzysztof Komeda series on vinyl looks at Komeda's classic work for Polanski's Knife In The Water (Nóz W Wodzie) along with rare earlier recordings that have never been on vinyl before. These were recorded by Komeda's progressive trio at the legendary Jazz Jamboree Festivals in Warsaw.

Together these recording signify a sea change in the sound of modern jazz - especially in Poland where it had been banned until Stalin's death in 1953. By the early 1960s Komeda had found his modern sound, one which he would build on and develop through various film scores and free jazz sessions. His untimely death in 1969 left the jazz world with a small but significant hole, one that seems to grow bigger as more people realize just how unique and versatile his music was.

'Floating Into The Night' is the 1989 debut album by vocalist Julee Cruise featuring songs written and produced by composer Angelo Badalamenti and film director David Lynch (who wrote the lyrics). The songs "Falling" and "Rockin' Back Inside My Heart" were both featured in Lynch's cult television series, while "Into the Night", "The Nightingale" and "The World Spins" also appeared in the show. The instrumental version of 'Falling' was the theme song for Twin Peaks while the album as a whole is almost an unofficial soundtrack to the series. The track 'Mysteries Of Love' was prominently featured in Lynch's classic film Blue Velvet. Cruise's dreamy, light vocals match perfectly with the music and lyrics to make this album sound like it is unattached to any era or time. Reissued on 180 gram vinyl with a double sided insert by Plain Recordings.

Following their 2012 performance supporting Italian Horror soundtrack legends Goblin, Australia's Gothic-Synth heavyweights The Night Terrors's were commissioned to compose an album of music with the Southern Hemisphere's largest Grand Pipe Organ.

Recorded at the Melbourne Town Hall, Friday the 13th June 2014, and to be launched on Halloween 31st October 2014, Pavor Nocturnus - A composition for Grand Organ, Theremin, analogue electronics and percussion is an inferno of haunting Theremin-led post-prog and dark cosmic dance. Quiet drops of sepulchral voltage and cacophonous whirls of intricate acoustic phenomena intermingle to prise open the maddening space between sentience and expiration (!!). The Night Terrors create a euphorically terrifying dream sequence, just perfect for Halloween. Their most frightening and beautiful recording to date.

Garden State is a 2004 comedy-drama lm written and directed by Zach Braff and starring Natalie Portman, Peter Sarsgaard, Ian Holm and Braff himself. The lm centers on Andrew Largeman (Braff), a 26-year-old actor/waiter who returns to his hometown in New Jersey after his mother dies. Braff based the lm on his real life experiences. Garden State was well received and has garnered a cult following.

The music that accompanied the lm was hand-picked by Zach Braff. Commenting on the selections, Braff said that 'Essentially, I made a mix CD with all of the music that I felt was scoring my life at the time I was writing the screenplay.' The music in the lm features a number of Indie Rock artists, notably The Shins. In an early scene, Sam passes Andrew a headset which is playing the song 'New Slang' by The Shins as she says 'You gotta hear this one song — it'll change your life; I swear.'

Writer, actor and director Zack Braff was awarded a Grammy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack for a Motion Picture for his work on the soundtrack album. The album has sold over 1.3 million copies and has been certied as platinum by the RIAA. Now, 10 year after the original release, Garden State is presented to you for the rst time on vinyl! One of the two beautiful printed inner sleeves includes a print of a hand-written note from Braff, which he wrote especially for the 2014 vinyl release of the soundtrack.

True Fictions is a feature length live cinema performance project created by UK audio visual artists The Light Surgeons, commissioned by EMPAC with support from The Jaffe Fund for Experimental Media and Performing Arts.

It is a layered fusion of documentary film production, motion graphics, live and electronic music that weaves together a collection of voices from across the state of New York to explore the post 911 psychological landscape through peoples notions of truth and myth.

This collection of peoples stories and opinions are collaged together and accompanied by an original musical score. This musical sound track was generated through a series of recording sessions where a group of New York based musicians responded to each other's improvisations by way of a muscial game of Exquisite Corpse. Each of the resulting multi-track recordings where remixed back in the UK by a group of electronic music producers and formed into the series of musical tracks you can hear on this limited vinyl release.

True Fictions was premiered as a live cinema performance at EMPAC, Troy, New York in September 2007 and has gone on to tour various film and media arts festivals internationally.

Strange Disc Records is proud to announce their debut release, the soundtrack to Surf Nazis Must Die. The film itself was released in 1987 by Troma Entertainment, but the soundtrack has never seen the light of day until now.
Set in a post-apocalyptic future where Neo Nazi group, the Surf Nazis have taken control of the beaches and terrorize anyone who steps foot in their territory. Jon McCallum's score suits the post-apocalyptic setting with heavy synth; fans of Tangerine Dream and John Carpenter's scores will be at home on this record.
McCallum is the composer behind Miami Connection, Terror Eyes and Soul Taker. Aside from his composing work he worked on the special effects for Phantasm 2 and George Harrison's 'Got My Mind Set On You,' music video.

REPRESS: Blackest Ever Black presents the first vinyl edition of Dickon Hinchliffe's original score for 1980 - the second part of Channel 4 and Revolution Films' Red Riding trilogy, adapted by Tony Grisoni from David Peace's quartet of novels and first screened in 2009. Each film in the Red Riding trilogy, a landmark achievement in British television history, was helmed by a different director and had its own distinctive look, sound and feel. While Julian Jarrold's 1977 and Anand Tucker's 1983 were both marvellous, well-rounded pictures, James Marsh's1980 - photographed by Igor Martinovic on 35mm - somehow seemed to penetrate deeper, hit harder, and linger longer and more vividly in the memory. Described by Tony Grisoni as "an elegant steely trap", 1980's tragic arc is all the more devastating for the glimpses of lightness and redemption with which it taunts its hero - policeman Peter Hunter, played with astonishing grace and nuance by Paddy Considine. Warren Clarke, Maxine Peake, Peter Mullan, Tony Pitts, Jim Carter, David Morrissey, Sean Harris, Shaun Dooley and Lesley Sharp also figure in what surely ranks as one of the finest British ensemble casts ever assembled. So yes, the acting, writing and direction are all first-rate, but crucial to the mesmeric, elegiac and ultimately pincering, punishing effect of 1980 is its music, composed by Dickon Hinchliffe and performed by a small string ensemble augmented with bass, piano, guitar and percussion. A founder member of Tindersticks, Hinchliffe has played a major role in the band's scores for the films of Claire Denis (including Vendredi Soir,Trouble Every Day and Nénette Et Boni), and since flying the roost has established himself as an arthouse and Hollywood composer of considerable renown, with credits including Forty Shades Of Blue, Project Nim, Winter's Bone and Rampart. Even more eloquently than Paddy Considine's note-perfect performance, Hinchliffe's music for 1980 articulates Hunter's journey from righteousness to ruin, his optimism gradually consumed by dread and paranoia. Even at its most tender, its most hopeful, its most soaringly romantic, the stench of death is all over it.

Devonté Hynes veröffentlicht den Score zu Gia Coppolas High School-Drama "Palo Alto" auf Domino! Devonté Hynes, der letztes Jahr sein zweites Album unter dem Namen Blood Orange auf Domino Records veröffentlichted ist zurück. Er unterstützte Gia Coppola (Enkelin von Francois Ford Coppola) musikalisch bei ihrer Verfilmung von James Francos Kurzgeschichtensammlung "Palo Alto". Das High School-Drama mit James Franco, Emma Roberts und Val Kilmer ist ihr Regiedebüt und wurde erstmals beim Venice Film Festival gezeigt. Kurz nach der Veröffentlichung des Soundtracks, bei dem Dev Hynes auch bereits vier eigene Songs beisteuerte, erscheint nun auch der von ihm geschriebene und produzierte Soundtrack als CD, LP und digitalem Bundle via Domino Records.

"Wish I Was Here" ist der neue Film von Indie-Regisseur Zach Braff, der mit dem Vorgänger "Garden State" (2005) große Erfolge feiern konnte und dessen Soundtrack mit Perlen der Indieszene gespickt war. Der Film war beim diesjährigen Sundance Film Festival ein großer Erfolg und kommt am 09. Oktober 2014 in die deutschen Kinos. Neben Zach Braff, spielen Kate Hudson, Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory), Mandy Patinkin (Homeland) und James Avery (Der Prinz von Bel-Air), in einer seiner letzten Rollen, mit.

In those same years, after all, the Maestro was part of Gruppo di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza, and the films of Dario Argento provided the perfect terrain where Morricone could experiment, without any boundaries. Like many other soundtracks of those years, "The cat o 'nine tails" had to wait more than 20 years to see the light in its entirety, with a single 45rpm released at the time! Today, this score is reissued by AMS Records in LP format with gatefold cover. The first 500 copies come in yellow vinyl.

The Fur Trap is an illustrated short novel that comes with a 7" vinyl soundtrack, released and published as a collaboration between writer Kevin Ward (Fancy Butcher comic books) and Catapulte Records. K. Ward describes it as a "Rock'n'Roll fairy tale for adults"; the surreal adventures of teenager Beth in snowy North America, through dark forests, dodgy nightclubs and motels, are accompanied by stunning illustrations and 60's sounding Northern Soul / Rock'n'Roll originals. Catapulte's Pissinboy (G. Mushnik, A. Piro, J. Voyant) arranged and produced the songs, that Kevin himself wrote and sang. The book is beautifully printed and packed, full of surprises and mysterious details, the result of more than 2 years of intense work. The Fur Trap is a unique experience, combining the 3 media into a witty, humorous and captivating story!

Considered to be one of the pioneers of Psychoacoustics, Eric Siday is also acknowledged as a key name in the growth of 20th century electronic music. An important figure in the development of the Moog Synthesizer, Siday's compositions were a testing ground for Bob Moog ideas, in turn shaping the technical advancement of the instrument. An early experimenter of Musique Concrete and extended technique he inaugurated these concepts into the world of television scoring and advertising. Slightly pre-dating Ron Grainer and Delia Derbyshire's ground-breaking composition for the Doctor Who theme, he begun experimenting with electronics in soundtracks as early as 1960 carrying through to the 1970s where he created inspired electronic 'sound logos' for various entertainment companies such as CBS, ABC and Columbia. Pulling together a clutch of eerie atomic-age miniatures drawn from a series of rare 10' 78rpm library discs, this compilation explores Siday's scientific study of sound, a concept he branded 'The Ultra Sonic Perception'. Partially used as the soundtrack to the early 1960s Doctor Who TV series, this document is an amazing insight into the early electronic music used in television as well as a showcase of the pioneering techniques used by this forward thinking composer.
