Blazing Saddles is widely regarded as one of the greatest of all Hollywood comedies, a fact underlined by its three Academy Award nominations. Writer and director Mel Brooks brought to the soundtrack exactly what played out on screen, a glorious, gag-packed parody of the western genre. The main theme performed by Frankie Laine was one of those Academy Award nominations.

Running a trade ad to find a Laine sound-alike to perform the song he was astonished to see the great man himself turn up to deliver this delicious parody of of every wild west theme he had previously performed mixing elements of Rawhide, Mule Train and Gunfight At The OK Corral.

In collaboration with John Morris, Brooks skilfully also created a magnificent score that refined every possible musical cliche connected to westerns from swirling strings to choral refrains. Originally only released in part in the 1970s this 40th anniversary edition is the most complete version yet with 28 tracks that also incorporates some of the most hilarious dialogue from the film. This is a soundtrack created with love that captures perfectly the essence of a truly great film, now a rarity in the modern cinema era.

Although strictly unofficial and a pure product of his cinematic mind, this OST is intrinsically linked to the legendary series: as a feature-length album, a collection of cinematic sequences, his Miami Vice strongly evokes Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs and their investigations set in the sordid underworld of Florida's jetset.

The beatmaker has sequenced his tracks like scenes from a script, alternating the dark atmosphere of trap music with more jazzy vibes ( Love Theme', Tubbs Theme'). Electronic tracks are also very much present, as they were on his previous album Seven. The Chase' evokes a breathless action scene, while the footwork beats of Move That Dope' and Welcome to Little Haiti' reflect the intense nocturnal energy of the city.

Special guest star MC Eiht (who played A-Wax in the Hughes brothers' cult movie "Menace II Society") raps on Music To Drive By' and Street Life'. Throughout his long career, everything he has recorded has a real cinematic feel to it. MC Eiht was the perfect MC for this type of track,' says Cam. He also couldn't miss paying homage to what is practically the Miami theme song: In The Air Tonight' by Phil Collins. Here, he respectfully revisits it in a deep, cerebral fashion.

Cam's Miami Vice is fourteen visual tracks, an imaginary score that positions itself as the 'official' soundtrack just as Hollywood is preparing to film a reboot, following the first movie adaptation in 2005 by the series' original producer - and now cult director - Michael Mann. Miami Vice definitely puts the 'camera' back in Cam, making him the first-person view for our cinematic cortex.

The Nekromantik score displays the dynamic ability and range of the composers. It strikes a perfect balance of beauty, horror, joy and dissonance. The score is both minimalistic and hauntingly atmospheric at the core, and yet remarkably complex at the same time. A wide variety of instruments and sound effects are utilized throughout it's making. Kopp wastes no time displaying his mastery of the violin, which takes center stage, captivating the listener with his powerful, rhythmic, and beautiful solos. He also uses the violin to create some of the strangest tracks on the album, significantly slowing down the rhythm, creating an ominous, off-key droning sound. Kopp is no slouch on the piano either, with a number of beautiful piano interludes that appear throughout the score. In sharp contrast are the tracks which sound as if they are from an old school industrial album. Harsh noise, clanging metal, pounding drums, synthesizers, and various sound effects come together to create a truly dark and desolate picture. The moog synthesizer, also makes a few appearances. This is an amazing collection of music that appeals to a wide variety of people.

In 1980 Lommel directed 'THE BOOGEYMAN' starring John Carradine, which became a 'slasher genre' hit and made the UK's banned 'Video Nasties' list. Two sequels were also produced in 1981 and 1983.

To underscore his film, Lommel needed a soundtrack that fitted the times like the synth based John Carpenter styled soundscapes used in Halloween. By the late seventies, electronic music had achieved new heights of popularity. Technological innovations such as the Mini-Moog became a weapon of choice for new composers, churning out chilling electronic music that showed the industry its full creative potential. For this he turned to Tim Krog and his team 'Synthe-Sound-Trax' composed out of Jan Barlett and Ed Christiano.

This trio produced a soundtrack far more progressive and unique than one might expect. Moving easily between traditional melodies and more experimental textures, The Boogeyman's score is a superb example of an economical but highly effective scoring style that would be prevalent throughout the ensuing decade.

As you listen to these soundscapes, remember one thing: "The Boogey man" will get you if you don't watch out'.

Invada Records are proud to announce the vinyl release of two volumes of music from season 2 of hit NBC television series HANNIBAL by Brian Reitzell. The two volumes of music come spread across two double LPs with each volume released on two different variants - 140gram black vinyl and travertine grey for Season 2 Volume 1, and 140gram black vinyl and hemochrome

red for Season 2 Volume 2. Accompanying the release, director David Slade has provided rare photos from his personal collection for the artwork. Ennio Morricone, for Marco Bellocchio's masterpiece debut film I PUGNI IN TASCA, composed some mysterious and obsessive music for soprano voice, harp, harpsichord, strings, alternated to lounge music of the period, swing and jazz, creating a great contrast with the dark mood of the movie.

Movie star Vincent Chase, together with his boys Eric, Turtle, and Johnny, are back - and back in business with super-agent-turned-studio head Ari Gold. One of the summer's most anticipated movies, Entourage, is based on the massively popular HBO series by the same name.

Starring the principal cast of the series, (Kevin Connolly, Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara, and Jeremy Piven), the film (and series) highlights the inner workings of Hollywood in a comedic manner and does so with a great soundtrack propelling it to a worldwide audience. That tradition of big tracks to go along with the overtop acting is coming to the big screen and the film soundtrack has been unveiled. Among those who will appear on the tracklist include Diplo, Pharrell, Tame Impala, Jane's Addiction and Royal Blood. Il Diavolo nel Cervello" (Devil in the brain) is a film directed in 1971 by Sergio Sollima and screened at the beginning of the following year; it's a psychological thriller in which tension is determined by the characters' psyche more than their actions, and is therefore an atypical product, that was offered to an audience who at the time were mostly into the 'Dario Argento suspence', made of serial killers, ferocious murders and a pinch of erotism.
"Il diavolo nel cervello" works on an almost-full symphonic register: on a strings-made ground we have piano, harpsichord, flutes and brass instruments. It's a very airy work that sips moments of tension, where the pace is dictated solely by jazzy drums played with bristles. Undoubtedly, one of the best productions of the Maestro from those early '70s, including Bruno Nicolai as a conductor and Edda Dell'Orso singing choirs.
Yet another blend of music and imagery from the fervent Seventies to be rediscovered, here revived in LP format with a gatefold cover and a completely new graphic layout.

Following the success gained by the first press of this item, especially released for the Record Store Day 2015, "Il mio nome è Nessuno" (My name is Nobody) is now reissued with new artwork and on black vinyl, but still including a 60x30cm poster with flyers and lobby cards.

"Il mio nome è Nessuno" is an a typical western, difficult to classify as it's placed halfway between the founders of the genre of the '60s and the comedies of the following decade. Sponsored and partly directed by Sergio

Leone, it came out in 1973 and received great success, thanks to the presence of the actors Terence Hill and Henry Fonda, in a perfect balance between light-hearted comedy and the more serious side of the 'spaghetti western' genre.

The other element of the film comes from the music of Ennio Morricone, who writes and orchestrates a really varied soundtrack, which easily adapts itself to the various moods in the movie. There is everything: tensive

soundscapes, epic symphonic rides - directly referring the "Dollar Trilogy", frivolous and light-hearted moments, all mixed with a disarming naturalness.

Given the popularity of the film, its soundtrack has been reprinted several times, but 35 years have passed since the last issue on vinyl! A must have not only for fans of the Maestro Morricone but, given the importance of this

Sgt.Sunshine is a three piece rock band formed in Malmoe, Sweden by the guitarist and lead singer Eduardo Fernandez, bass player Pär Hallgren, and Christian Lundberg on drums. They recorded some demos around 1998-99 that placed them amongst one of the leading underground rock bands of the time. Around this time they cut a record deal with a British label called Abstract Sounds to release their first album, the same titled: Sgt. Sunshine. Heavy Psych Sounds is proud to reissue this incredible record originally released in 2002.

The decade from 1968-1978 has a pivotal importance in Italy's 20th century history, it was a period of deep social and cultural transformation on the wings of the Berkeley youth protests and the so-called 'French May' which then developed in different directions, due to the moral contradictions of one of the most conspiratory countries of the western world. The definitive loss of innocence of a nation still drunk from the economic exploits of the early sixties and yet ready for a leap into the void of the modern age, with lots of crazy and incomprehensible variables.

Years of high-tension events - beginning with the tragic massacre of Piazza Fontana and finishing with the infamous kidnapping and murderer of Aldo Moro - reflected in every aspect of the society and 'cultural building'. A palpable tension could be felt both sonically and visually.

The soundtrack of this whole world was written in real time by a bunch of enterprising composers, right in the middle of a session for some magical Italian soundtrack or even an appearance alongside the RAI (the main national broadcaster) Orchestra, who made 'creative gym' and little money while recording some instant albums for the most sought after publishers of libraries. Sonic pictures of the heyday of Italian society, truly unique from the music made by French, English or German composers in their respective countries.

The sound coming from the Italian television was as sharp as a razor blade and tasted just like lead and lachrymatory, with a howling fuzz guitar and a heavy drum to set the tumultuous scene of a society on the verge of implosion. Daniela Casa, Remigio Ducros, Alessandro Alessandroni, Stelvio Cipriani, Enzo Scoppa, Amedeo Tommasi, Franco Tamponi and the other composers featured acted as drastic audio reporters, on top of being incredible musicians. They were able to describe in just few minutes the climax they were surrounded by, using their classical heritage and training with hints of the avant-garde, at the same time as the boost of psych-rock, jazz, funk and whatever other popular musical innovation came their way. Urged to be minimalistic and so far not original - the quintessence of the library diktat - the Italian composers answered instead with an experimental vocation pushed by that same need for renewal, stimulating the entire nation in those crazy and marvelous years.

Written and directed by 'the father of virtual reality', the obscure art film is an allegorical tale of 'Creation' and 'Destruction' and the battle for humanity. With no surviving prints of the film traced to date, all that remains is the remarkable soundtrack.

Composed by Israeli-born classical composer, Aminadav Aloni, the score is a collection of other-worldly spatial analogue electronics, field recordings and strong overtones of
haunting Jewish liturgical music whose synergy create a soundtrack as beguiling and enigmatic as the film itself.

The movie follows an elderly Jewish woman who fled Vienna during World War II and, sixty years later, starts her journey to retrieve family possessions seized by the Nazis. The film was screened in the Berlinale Special Galas section of the 65th Berlin International Film Festival.

Coming from a musical background, Martin Phipps has gone on to write music for many of the most interesting series of recent years, winning 2 BAFTAs & 3 Ivor Novello Awards. Hans Zimmer has received 9 Academy Award nominations, and has composed music for over 100 films up to date.
