The eagerly anticipated second album from System Of Hate will be released on Digipack CD and as a limited-edition vinyl LP (with DL code) via John Robb's Louder Than War Records label on Friday 3rd August 2018.
The Barnsley (UK) based five piece have gained a cult-like following thanks to their blackened post punk sound, drawing upon on influences from the likes of Killing Joke, and Theatre of Hate, but then applying their own ominous vibe.

'There Is No Madness Here' is a densely packed, delusional, psychotic joyride through the land that is System Of Hate, devoid of hope, full of despair and always with a brutal truth!

The album covers the usual System Of Hate obsessions; one's sanity, war, treachery, the death of mankind, blind faith, resurrection, crucifixion, love and much more.  

The band commented 'We haven't reinvented the wheel, but we have certainly pushed ourselves harder this time.  Every one of us has upped their game, be it musicianship, vocal ideas, or performance.  We knew more about what the studio was capable of and had so much more trust in Matt (@ Axis Studios) because we know him, and he was only going to help us, plus he trusted us - you only get that with time. '

With the previous album ('Unhallowed Ground' 2016 RET Records) a lot of the songs were written at home and evolved in both the rehearsal room and during live performance, this time more of the material was jammed out and written in rehearsals, never played live at all, before recording.

On June 8, Oakland, California's Howlin Rain return with The Alligator Bride, their fourth album of swampy, ragged, unapologetic rock 'n' roll. Led by Ethan Miller (co-founder of psych rockers Comets On Fire and Heron Oblivion), the band recorded the album with Eric King Riff' Bauer at the Mansion in San Francisco, direct to tape, in one or two takes. It's their first release on Silver Current Records, the artist-run label owned by Miller, and gleefully indebted to classic rock formations like the Grateful Dead's Europe '72 and Free's masterpiece of atmospheric, minimalist blues, 1969's Fire And Water. The guiding principle for The Alligator Bride was to create 'Neal Cassady Rock,'' says Miller. Which is to say, high energy, good-times adventure music, driving the hippie bus, shirtless and stoned, up for four days straight, and extremely fuzzy around the edges.' It's a fitting vision for the band: torn between eras, fuzzed out but full of soul, an epic perspective on what's come before and what lies ahead, woven into a cosmic tapestry of riffs, rhymes, and resonant frequencies.

Never before issued on vinyl, Silver Current presents Howlin Rain's selt-titled 2006 debut album, originally on CD only on Birdman Records! Formed in 2004 in San Francisco, the band features Ethan Miller (Comets On Fire, Heron Oblivion), John Moloney (shaman leader and percussionist for Boston's Sunburned Hand Of The Man) and Ian Gradek (bassist, iron worker, banjo-picker and world traveler). For a group of musicians who spend most of their time playing napalmwrecked avant-rock or underground improv, this is an opportunity to downshift and ease into some classic good-time jams—some yin to the more experimental yang of their better known projects. This LP - originally broadcast on the King Biscuit Flower Hour radio show - is taken from Iggy's concert at the Agora Ballroom in Cleveland Ohio on 21st March 1977 (the night before two of the concerts at the same venue were used on TV Eye Live). It boasts much better sound quality than the RCA live album, since it was
recorded using the Rolling Stones' mobile studio. The material here is drawn almost exclusively from the Stooges' back catalogue, with only "Sister Midnight", "Funtime" and "Turn Blue" coming from the two Bowie-produced albums.

Roo has described his new album Quiet Man as having a general theme of encouragement'. From the more introspective and personal 'A Year In A Garden' and aforementioned 'A Message to Myself' which are about personal growth to 'Ophelia', a song as staggeringly beautiful as its name with a heart-warming message of encouragement to a loved one ( Take heart my love as when I see you I see hope'), and 'My Sweet Refuge' which wraps a loved one in a blanket of appreciation and love. At the more robust spectrum of the album with its rousing horn section is 'Warrior' which is lyrically a spirited show of confidence from one friend to another, whilst on the gentler end of the record comes the tender romanticism of 'Quiet Man', picked as the album's title track as the song emerged from what Roo describes as a place of stillness, peace and contentment'. Quiet Man was written by Roo Panes and recorded in Deep Litter Studios at Start Point, Devon and produced by Chris Bond, mixed by Boe Weaver and mastered by Tim Debney at Fluid Mastering. Panes's three EPs and two previous albums have been streamed 160M+ times, and his videos have received 13M+ additional streams. Melbourne/Geelong quartet School Damage began as a bedroom recording project for Carolyn Hawkins (Chook Race, Parsnip) and Jake Robertson (Ausmuteants, Frowning Clouds etc). They released a cassette for Moontown Records in 2013, then were joined by Jeff Raty on drums and Dani 'Damage' Hakim on bass.
Taking cues from pop outfits such as The Vaselines, The Particles and Young Marble Giants, School Damage's sound is defined by wobbly keyboards, weaving bass lines, and lyrical content focused on the vagaries of modern life.
Following on from last year's excellent debut album through Chapter, School Damage return with a new EP for Upset The Rhythm titled 'Sings... Four Songs About One Cat'. As titles go this one hits it on the head, School Damage tell the tale of a very independently-minded feline that they share their life with called Lumpy (also known as Scump). As Jake from the band explains, 'Lumpy is incredibly naughty, she's not very cuddly and she definitely plays by her own rules.  The songs here are a mix about us having anxiety as pet owners - whether she'll run away, or if we're suffocating her by our constant need of attention... and also about how much she enriches our lives.'
For a cat who spends much of her time scratching up record spines, it seems fitting that Lumpy will now grace the cover and sentiment of her very own 7'. Maybe she's just been making room all this time for as many copies as possible of her hit record.

The second single off of Jack White's acclaimed, challenging and diverse third solo recording Boarding House Reach. This 7' features the anthemic Over and Over and Over on the a-side with buzzy, spoken-word track Everything You've Ever Learned on the b-side.

The Album Turned Out To Be One Of The Hottest Albums In 1993 And Was Recognized A Masterpiece From Start To Finish Of Vintage Dream-pop/shoe Gaze On Allmusic With A 9/10 Rating.

Mezcal Head Was Ranked At Number 265 On Spin's "the 300 Best Albums Of The Past 30 Years (1985-2014)" List. BACKGROUND:
In 1982 one of the most extraordinary and influential albums of its era was released . Named HOMOSAPIEN ,after the brilliant single that preceded and defined it,the album marked both the end of the second pop star incarnation of Buzzcocks ,the punk band led by Shelley that was both punk and transcended punk,and the beginning of Pete Shelley's innovative career.
In 1981, Shelley was searching for a new sound and by chance Buzzcocks' producer Martin Rushent already had one. Rushent's new studio Genetic was equipped with synthesisers,drum machines and all the hardware of the new technology which would come to define 80s pop. However at this point ,hardly anyone was making this new music. Shelley and Rushent were PIONEERS.
In a spirit of experiment and enthusiasm Shelley and Rushent recorded the album at Rushent's purpose built GENETIC STUDIOS. The album was recorded throughout 1981 creating a new sonic world. Despite Radio 1 thinking it was too risky for daytime play it was a big success internationally particularly in North America, Australia, Japan and the UK.
The following album to Homosapien, XL1, was no disappointment either . In 1983 Pete and Martin reconvened to make XL1 . With new technology (including a locked groove featuring the loading info for a ZX Spectrum) ,XL1 was a further step on for Shelley and featured one of the best singles of his career, the snarling ,relentless Telephone Operator. The album is both more rocky and more electronic than its predecessor paving the way not just for melodic synthpop but also the dance rock' which would dominate the 80s.
The pair of them used their imaginative talents to such a degree that their 12' mixes ,dubs and instrumentals pushed boundaries.
After the release of XL1 Pete Shelley continued his solo career before creating a new incarnation of The Buzzcocks which exists today. Martin Rushent died in 2011,leaving behind a legacy of music, hits and innovation.
Nearly 40 years on, thanks to the talents of Pete Shelley and Martin Rushent , the music still sounds fantastic.
