- Perpetual Burn war das erste Solo-Album des CACOPHONY-Gitarristen Jason Becker und erschien ursprünglich 1988 auf Shrapnel Records . Es gilt nach wie vor als ein Meilenstein und Klassiker des instrumentalen Heavy Metals. Bei zwei Tracks ließ sich Jason Becker von seinem damaligen CACOPHONY-Bandkollegen (und späterem MEGADETH-Gitarristen) Marty Friedman unterstützen.
Nun zum 30-jährigen Jubiläum endlich wieder als limitierte Vinylausgabe erhältlich und um zwei bisher unveröffentlichte Gitarrensoli erweitert, die bei den Albumaufnahmen entstanden sind.

July 2014 was my first encounter with BLOWN OUT label wise.

That's when sister label, Swap Meat Records put out the bands debut physical release 'Sun Rot' as a limited run tape. That quickly sold out and two furthers runs were made and also sold out.

Since then, we've released further four Blown Out releases on Riot Season. Drifting Way Out Between Suns (2014), New Cruiser (2016), Superior Venus (2017) and just last week In Search Of Highs Volume 1 (2018).

So what better thing to do next than go back to where it all began and release 'Sun Rot' on wax at long last. 'Sun Rot' was recorded to tape and was very lo-fi in nature. We've rescued the original tapes and have tweaked them for vinyl ever so slightly but it very much remains the lo-fi classic it once was.

It's off at the pressing plant now, getting cut/mastered and once we've okayed the test pressings it'll be pressed up in a limited one off run of 300 copies on space black vinyl. The artwork has been re imagined by the original cover artist, and long time Blown Out artwork collaborator Anthony Downie - and it looks sweet.

The power metal of Scanner marked some of the highlights of the late 80s metal bands. Their debut album Hypertrace is created around the storyline of a science fiction adventure. The superb combat unit which represents the main character on the album are musically translated to the riffs and rhythms of Scanner's sound. The high speed energetic compositions are the main focus, while the heavy metal is thrown in to vary the album in diversity. Theatrics are mixed with over the top vocals, as you can hear by listening to the track "Warp 7". The song "Terrion" carries some refreshing riffs and double bass drums, while "Across the Universe" is on the slower side of their sound. Hypertrace can be named as the cult classic of the power metal and deserves recognition as one of the genre's best releases.

Since their formation back in 1986 the German band Scanner performed live in different line-ups. Lead guitarist Axel A.J. Julius is the only band member which was part of their first album.

Refuge Denied (1987) Is The First Album By The Seattle Thrash Metal Band Sanctuary. Dave Mustaine Took The Honor To Produce Refuge Denied, And To Good Effect. Its Sonic Recipe Boasts Some Excellent Guitar Riffing By The Band's Guitar Players Lenny Rutledge And Sean Blosl, Accompanied By Aggressive But Melodic Vocals By Warrel Dane And Driving Bass Lines By Jim Sheppard. It Even Features A Cover Version Of Jefferson's Airplane "white Rabbit". Refuge Denied Is One Of Those Albums That Is Both Typical To Its Time Period, Yet Reflects The Atypical And Chaotic Character Of Its Type. Straightforward Songs Like "battle Angels" Features Their Heavy Riffs And Falsetto Vocals By Dane. Their Heavy Work Can Be Heard On Songs Like "die For My Sins", With Indelible Choruses And Trashy Riffing. The debut album See You in Hell from New Wave of British Heavy Metal stalwarts Grim Reaper was originally released in Europe in 1983, with the rest of the world following a year later. The album is a perfect example of the way Heavy Metal guitar lines and vocals are blended together in consistently strong tracks. It's a keeper in which the band is kicking hard, but also got some lighter moments, for example in the track The Show Must Go On'. When the heavy metal riffage got them knocking on your door they're reaching out for their most effective songs, like Dead on Arrival' and title song See You in Hell'. With their dynamics and rhythms they created on of their finest albums. Naturally, a band wearing leather and album artwork depicting 'satanic' imagery also received what is nowadays laughable allegations of demon-worship. Sadly, we can assure you there are no hidden messages in this album if you play it backwards....

Beacon Of Faith broadly follows the same trajectory as the album's predecessors, Bushcraft (2013) and Bloodmines (2014) - combining raw adrenaline-fuelled emotion, venomous vocal delivery, gigantic guitar sound, and a visceral rhythmic propulsion - a sonic manifestation of desolate rage, bolstered by a palpable sense of urgency.Beacon Of Faith is densely-packed yet Baptists' sound is far from claustrophobic, there is melody amongst the dissonance, as the band more deeply explore the noise rock vistas that have always underpinned their sound.  Lyrics are drawn from their direct experience of a broken society and general discontentment with everyday life. Awake is the third studio album by American progressive Metal/Rock band Dream Theater and was originally released in 1994. After the success of Images And Words (MOVLP780), Dream Theater was eager to work on fresh material and retreated to the studio in May 1994. John Purdell and Duane Baron produced, engineered and mixed the album. The album's cover was designed by the band and features numerous references to the album's lyrics. The album peaked at 32 on the US Billboard 200.

Awake was the last Dream Theater album to feature keyboardist Kevin Moore, who announced his decision to leave the band during the recording of the album. Dream Theater auditioned for keyboardists to replace Moore for the upcoming Awake world tour and eventually hired Derek Sherinian.

"Lie", "Caught in a Web" and "The Silent Man" were released as singles. There is no title track on the album, but the lyric "Awake" appears in the songs "Innocence Faded" and "The Silent Man".

It's a known fact that Dream Theater is an experience you should undergo when the band plays their compositions live on stage, especially when there is an entire orchestra behind them. Such a performance is recorded on this 4LP set, as part of the band's 20th Anniversary World Tour.

The Score: 20th Anniversary World Tour was first released in 2006. The live performance of Dream Theater classics are no less than thrilling, the first two LP's contain the band's exquisite renditions of classics like "The Root Of All Evil" or "Another Won".

Formed in 1982 in Houston, TX, original hardcore skate punkers DIRTY ROTTEN IMBECILES debuted with a S/T single, fitting 22 songs into 18 minutes on a 7" EP. Often mentioned as one of the inventors of the 'crossover' sound between punk and thrash metal, along with such acts as Suicidal Tendencies, Crumbsuckers, Corrosion Of Conformity, but also Slayer or Metallica, DRI's first lp Dealing With It is a pure milestone of extreme metal, and their follow up from 1987, simply titled Crossover, defined the last details for the creation of a whole subgenre of heavy, inspiring young kids who would later form bands like Biohazard or Rage Against The Machine. This early days' retrospective includes hits and rarities spanning from their hardcore days to the more contaminated, including all time classics such as Couch Clouch', I Don't Need society' or Commuter Man'. Rare mid 70s downer-rock by south London based godless degenerates Warlord, featuring the tortured vocals of wildman singer Richard Roffey and eerie organ of leader Ivan Coutts. Soaked in a maelstrom of dark imagery this underground band's drug-crazed ravings are propelled by the hard-riffing guitar of pre Stallion axeman John Alexander.

From the Sabbath style head-banger 'Face Of The Sun' to the concluding witch burning ceremony of 'The Ring', echoing early Black Widow, Warlord's frantic sound is both gripping and unnerving.

Also included is a pre Warlord track 'To The Devil A Daughter' by the Coutts led outfit The Blacksmiths plus detailed band history.

Standing at a crossroads of light and dark, Chrch create epic songs of great depth,  layering intricate melodies, thunderous rhythms, gargantuan riffs, and a powerful, supernatural vocal presence. There is no image or gimmick to uphold, only the humble glorification of their fundamental musical elements. Chrch perform with a striking purity and honesty, their long-form songs build and deconstruct as the band reach sonic highs, and at times, beautiful plateaus.
 
Their second full length, Light Will Consume Us All, carries with it the same quality of songwriting that caught the attention of fans worldwide on their debut, Unanswered Hymns (Battleground Records, 2015). Building upon this foundation, Light Will Consume Us All also continues Chrch's narrative, traversing life's journey of loss, reclamation and, ultimately, finding hope within the darkness. 
 
Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Patrick Hills (King Woman, Bog Oak, VRTRA) at Earthtone Studios in Rocklin, California, the album exudes a warm, organic tone, with a sound influenced by traditional doom, psych rock, drone, and ambient music.

Chrch summon the listener to inhabit their sonic space, allowing enough room for its transmutation into anything one desires of it.
