Arts & Crafts will release the 6th studio album from Said The Whale's. The JUNO-winning trio of Tyler Bancroft (vocals/guitar), Ben Worcester (vocals/guitar) and Jaycelyn Brown (keyboards) specialize in the rich harmonies of California pop, crunchy guitars rooted in the lineage of Pacific Northwest indie rock, and naturalistic lyrics inspired by the water and mountains of their hometown of Vancouver. The album is titled 'Cascadia', a bioregion of western North America that runs along the Cascade mountain range. Meant to mimic the look of a tourism website, the landing page features a number of fan activations such as a 1-800 information line, an ambassador program, a streaming activation highlighting the music of the region, and much more.

Strictly limited to 1000 hand numbered copies, this lavish boxed set celebrates the Beatles as a live act, at the peak of their fame. It presents five concerts broadcast between 1964 and 1966, from Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, France and Japan, and painstakingly remastered here.

These recordings from Alex Chilton (Big Star) have been out of print for over a decade.

Hugely influence to and lauded by the likes of Wilco, REM, The Replacements among many others....these are the best of his recordings from the 1980's.

Some know him as the lead singer of the Boxtops who had a number one hit in 1967 with 'The Letter,' others know him from the majestic Beatlesque pop of Big Star or as the name in a song by the Replacements ('Children by the millions sing of Alex Chilton...') Others know him as the songwriter of the theme song for That 70s Show.

He was at the height of his cult star fame in the mid 1980s when he made these recordings. It is some of his best most honest work oddly neglected for some time but delivered here for enthusiasts and neophites alike.

Emerging like an ornate relic of disenchanted youth, Austin-based power trio Grivo unleashes their ominously trudging sound with the debut full length Elude out November 9, 2018. Combining slow, methodical hooks and warm tube amplifiers, Grivo's massive tones artfully re-establish the link between heavy guitars and downtempo pop to yield a potently encompassing experience. Utilizing effects as an active compositional element, Elude's infectious riffs are brilliantly crafted and paced to allow the saturated guitars and bruising low-end to fully bloom. Within the tidal sound waves and bleak timbre, Grivo forges a distinctive personal connection that challenges the modern definitions of doom metal and shoegaze.

Born and raised in small-town Michigan, Grivo is led by guitarist/vocalist Timothy Heck who founded the band with his brother and drummer Matthew. The Heck brothers have shared a life-long musical partnership, starting as jazz-obsessed teenagers before diving into the punk and hardcore scenes of the Midwest in their early twenties. After years of intensive touring, they sought new inspiration and slower tempos, opting to relocate to Austin in 2015. Timothy adopted a reserved and accessible approach to songwriting, evoking empathy through minor key signatures while constructing intricate walls of auditory mass. Towing a thin line between genres, Grivo is careful never to fully commit to any style or tradition, allowing for broad crossover appeal.

Elude's lyrics portray the harsh recognition of the distance between longing and embrace. Candid songs such as 'C.A.' and 'Burnout' eloquently articulate the pain of unrequited desire and derive sympathy from chorusladen guitar flourishes. On songs like 'Cave,' Timothy's vocals and guitar leads form a unified voice, often singing into and out of one another to gracefully embellish the melody. Grivo's chord progressions are composed at the perfect emotional pitch, allowing energy and tension to naturally build and melt into an intoxicating release. The dense fuzz tones on 'Room' and 'Opia' are brutal, searing the guitar stops into piercing feedback and grinding the edges off the bass lines. This multi-layered use of effects is an essential part of Grivo's arrangement and identity, orchestrating an expansive variety of color and expression. The cohesive mood enveloping the nine dirges of Elude creeps along at a hypnotic tempo, luring the listener into the addictive malaise and subtle complexities of Grivo.

Sillyboy's Ghost Relatives can proudly claim to be 'Greek radio's
favourite soft rock band'. The Athens-based quartet - fronted by basswielding former TV commercial composer turned Balearic popster
Charalambos Kourtaras - are rising stars in their home country, with
listeners warming to their distinctive blend of atmospheric guitars,
retro-pop synths and head-in-the-clouds grooves.
So far, international stardom has passed them by, though their
distinctive songs have caught the ear of a range of DJs across the
globe. One was Claremont 56 founder Paul 'Mudd' Murphy, who has
worked his magic on one of the band's previously unreleased gems,
'In A Small Place'.
Perfectly capturing the claustrophobic reality of life in a small, remote
town or village where everyone knows everyone else's business, the
song sees Sillyboy plan his escape over a mesmerizing backing track
rich in ghostly synthesizers, chunky bass guitar, spacey electronics
and a shufing groove that sits somewhere between pitched-down dub
disco and early '80s West Coast AOR.
Murphy's 'Extended Version' allows the track room to breathe,
teasing out the clandestine and atmospheric instrumentation - eyesclosed guitar solos included - before introducing Sillyboy's rueful and
paranoid vocals. You'll fnd the Greek band's slimmed-down - and
arguably even more trippy - original version on the B-side, completing
a fttingly high quality musical package to kick-start Claremont 56's
2019 release schedule.

The Allman Brothers Band's tenth studio album Shades of Two Worlds is a work where the group went back to their music improvisations. Dickey Betts and Gregg Allman summoned up the spirit of the original band. 'Nobody Knows' is the standout track, with a coursing, jazzy jam with instrumental swells, percolating drum tracks, and dramatic lead vocal that recall the band's salad days. Gregg Allman was the solo keyboardist on the record and he created some original and impressive compositions. The album ends with a cover of delta blues legend Robert Johnson's 'Come On In My Kitchen.'

The Allman Brothers Band was one of America's greatest Southern rock bands. After the famous 1971 live release At Fillmore East, The Allman Brothers Band represented an artistic and commercial breakthrough. With their extended live jam improvisations they became famous all over the world. As one of the pioneering bands in the Southern rock they recorded several successful albums and singles. The group largely infused hints of the blues, jazz, and country into their music.

Still Alive and Well is the long-awaited return album by the American blues rock guitarist Johnny Winter. After a period of three years he recorded another energetic and raw album, which can be accounted to his best records. His guitar play is fascinating and after his heroin addicting he's making a statement against the use of drugs and alcohol. The expressive and fitting vocal work goes from the delta blues in 'Rock Me Baby' to the heart-breaking 'Silver Train'. He's introducing new elements like the flute and mandolin into his music, which makes it a versatile record. Still Alive and Well is a masterpiece of commanding guitar work, raw vocals, and with the perfect song selection a record every blues rock fan should own.

'Hive Mind Records present a 2LP compilation of songs by Moulay Ahmed El Hassani, a master of modern Moroccan music, who updates traditional folk forms with drum machines, autotune and incredible psychedelic guitar.

Moulay Ahmed El Hassani is practically unknown outside of his home country of Morocco where he's released over 50 albums on cassette and CD over the past 30 years, however Hive Mind Records seek to remedy that situation with the release of this compilation featuring songs originally released on Ahmed's own label, Sawt el Hassani, between 2006 and 2014.

Ahmed writes his own songs, plays all instruments himself, records and self produces at his home studio in Beni Mellal. His unique sound takes influence from a variety of Moroccan folk forms, particularly the Izlan and Ahidous styles of the Amazigh people of the mid-Atlas region. Ahmed has blended these styles with the rai and chaabi that were popular across the country through his youth. The resulting sound is like a twenty-first century folk music for a people caught somewhere between a vision of their own idealised pastoral past and a turbo charged, technologically driven urban future. Ahmed has embraced new musical technologies and his songs are made up of complex, polyrhythmic drum machine patterns, subtle loops, washes of new age synth, heavily autotuned male and female duet vocals, and his signature psychedelic microtonal guitar playing. His songs are sometimes gentle and melancholic, and sometimes more upbeat, but always deeply lyrical and melodic, and all feature lyrics in Amazigh and Arabic that deal with social issues and universal themes of love and loss.

There's really very little that can be said in a press release to can prepare you for the sound of Moulay Ahmed ElHassani's music, other than that you're unlikely to have heard anything quite like it before.'

Die LP "Chronolyse" kam zwar 1978 und nach "Rhizosphere" auf den Markt, doch eigentlich ist sie Richard Pinhas' erstes Soloalbum, da die Aufnahmen schon 1976 entstanden. Zu dieser Zeit war Pinhas stark von Frank Herberts Roman "Dune" beeindruckt, was zum Beispiel Songtitel wie "Duncan Idaho" erklärt. Es handelt sich hier um den Namen einer der Romanfiguren. Musikalisch ist "Chronolyse" streng zweigeteilt. Die erste rein elektronische und hörbar von Klaus Schulze inspirierte Hälfte, eine Reihe skizzenhafter Stücke mit
repetitiven Sequenzer-Mustern, wurde von Pinhas live im Studio auf zwei Moog-Synthesizern improvisiert.
Die zweite rockigere Hälfte, ein knapp 30 Minuten langes Stück mit dem Titel "Paul Atreides", ist ein ausgedehnter Prog-Jam, in dem Pinhas seine Synthesizer-Experimente um Gitarre, Mellotron, Bass und Schlagzeug ergänzt. Hier zeigt sich deutlich der Einfluss von King Crimson im Allgemeinen und Robert Fripp
im Besonderen.

reuniting with his parents and Alannah Curries tragic miscarriage. The albums title 'Close To The Bone' reflects this, as Tom Bailey said 'for the first time we had real experiences that we could write about. When you tour all the time,

things become circular and one-dimensional. I never realised it before, but taking time away for whatever reason is great for you songwriting'.

Before there was Joy Division, there was Warsaw. The group was founded after a 1976 Sex Pistols gig, and the late great Ian Curtis joined the group soon after. By their first official gig, in 1977, they were already the talk of NME and a rush to sign and record led the group to RCA. Recording in Manchester's Arrow Studios in May 1978 brought a full album's worth of songs but the band ultimately didn't like the direction of the production and asked to be released from their contract. Here is that mythical unreleased album along with the earliest demos from the group, recorded in 1977. Essential stuff for any fan of UK post-punk.

Piano Viberations' 'small group jazz featuring piano and vibes with rhythm' makes for a gorgeous Francis Coppieters showcase, surely one of Belgium's best-kept musical secrets. Released in 1975, and arguably the most low-key of the KPM and Themes records we're re-issuing, this is easily our current favourite.
'The Open Highway' is the appropriately-named opener, and immediately demonstrates Coppieters' dexterous interplay between piano and vibes in assured, joyous fashion. The shufing bossa of 'Sales Notes' is a jaw-dropper, well-mined by samplers with impeccable taste. The mellow head-nod drum-break
that is 'Funky Chimes' brilliantly demonstrates Coppieters' quiet majestic side with its slow-motion funk rhythm with beautifully refective notes throughout.
The upbeat and joyful 'Cross Talk' closes out side A. Vibes and piano are defnitely at the heart of the arrangement here. The quick cut movement of 'Piano In Transit' is another gem, driven principally by piano but those vibes along for more than just the ride. On a more gentle, elegiac note, 'To Shearing With Love' is a warm, slow, romantic piece in the style of George Shearing. It's
plaintive and sublime.
Piano Viberations is one of those rare library records the original description of which makes as much sense now as it did when it was frst released. Piano and vibes with rhythm indeed.
As with all ten re-issues, the audio for Piano Viberations comes from the original analogue tapes and has been remastered for vinyl by Be With regular Simon Francis. We've taken the same care with the sleeves, handing the reproduction duties over to Richard Robinson, the current custodian of KPM's brand identity.

Although the band never released
an album during the years of their
activity, Wilde Flowers is certainly
to be counted among the foundation
stones of the Canterbury scene
of the mid-to-late Sixties. After
their departure from the band, the
members formed other two seminal
groups of the Canterbury Sound: Soft
Machine (Robert Wyatt, Kevin Ayers,
and Hugh Hopper) and Caravan
(David Sinclair, Richard Sinclair, Pye
Hastings, and Richard Coughlan).
The name is of course an homage
to Oscar Wilde, and this album is a
selection of some of their rarest gems
that originally came out in 1994.

Is freedom worth more than mastery, construction and achievement In replying yes, the utopians of Camizole clear show which side they are on. For them, musical creation must be as spontaneous as possible. To achieve this, it is better to put egos to one side to concentrate on collective experimentation, to be tried and tested in front of a live audience. Playing the card of unlimited and unhindered improvisation is Camizole's crédo, having decided to get a taste of the urgent game-playing already established by the Nihilist Spasm Band and the Living Theatre research of Julian Beck and Judith Malina.

At the time, that is to say when punk was exploding, this concept, itself inherited from the May 68 events, made an impact on Chris Cutler of Henry Cow, but also Lindsay Cooper, who invited Camizole member Françoise Crublé to join the Feminist Improvising Group. Also, the Tapioca label run by Jean Georgakarakos (co-founder of BYG Records), considered producing an album, from a live recording made at the Théâtre de Chartres in November 1977. Unfortunately the label rapidly ceased all activities and the recording was left in a drawer, which was a real shame.

Today, after extracts and other live bits and pieces came out via Spalax at the end of the 1990s, an integral double-album is finally being released to do justice to the collective created by Jacky Dupéty, and which included, amongst others Dominique Grimaud(Vidéo-Aventures), Chris Chanet (Etron Fou Leloublan, Urban Sax), Xavier Jouvelet (notably heard alongside Lol Coxhill) and Bernard Filipetti (Art & Technique). Better late than never!

The ranks of Camizole included some of the most essential personalities of the French underground, notably Dominique Grimaud (Vidéo-Aventures), Chris Chanet (Etron Fou Leloublan) and Bernard Filipetti (Art & Technique). Their idea of music, if we look further than the pair Dominique Grimaud - Bernard Filipetti and a style of music influenced by Klaus Schulze, is inspired by the liberty of free jazz. This is nonetheless modified by a cathartic approach close to the esthetic preoccupations of Julian Beckand Judith Malina's Living Theatre. The result is a musical happening, where the important thing is to improvise in the urgency of the moment in front of a not-always receptive public.

Before exploring constructed repetitive forms which would be perfected by Urban Sax, Lard Free were more in the domain of noise improvisation, or even a kind of jazz rock similar to that of Soft Machine, as can be heard on a late retrospective album, from which the track "À chacun son Boulez" emerged.

There was logically great complicity between Camizole and Lard Free, which would lead to the two groups finally merging. This was the case for four concerts in May before the two groups disbanded in order to finally get to grips with the free rock in the style of Faust that they liked so much. As an ode to anarchy, a record now bears witness to those communal experiences.

During the years the band was still called Golden Earrings they made a huge progression by releasing their second album Winter-Harvest. They were stronger and more ambitious as before and wrote 14 original songs for the album. By trying new things they recorded songs like the soul-influenced 'Smoking Cigarettes,' Motown style 'Dream', and the rock 'n' roll hit 'In My House'. Bassist and keyboard player Rinus Gerritsen and guitarist George Kooymans showing their talents and vocalist Frans Krassenburg has been steadily improving his vocal performances. The album stands beside the better-known English acts of the period.

The rock band Golden Earring is one of the world's best-known Dutch bands. During the 70's they even made it to the Billboard charts by releasing 'Radar Love'. 57-years later they're still performing and bringing their big hits to large audiences.

This collection brings together rarities from well-known artists like Abstract Truth, Suck, Otis Waygood, Freedom's Children, John & Philipa Cooper, McCully Workshop and Hawk, as well as lesser known acts like Buzzard, The Fireflies, The Idiots, Tidal Wave, and The Invaders. Although the South African rock movement of the late sixties and early seventies was not a major commercial success, its participants heralded an exciting new age in South African rock and started a movement aimed at changing the musical tastes of fans in a spectacular way. Stadium concerts became the vehicle for feeding the youth with heavier rock sounds, and behind studio glass were producers like Clive Calder, Billy Forrest, Graham Beggs and Selwyn Miller who acted as change agents to transform conventional pop into heavier 4 to 5 minute songs. The movement's struggle for recognition through airplay remained unanswered and only the true fans of rock knew about their existence. Licensed by the Fresh Music label in South Africa and available on vinyl for the first time, complete with insert and liner notes.

The Ape of Naples is Coil's highly celebrated final album completed by Peter Christopherson following the tragic death of Jhonn Balance in 2004. Often noted for being a fan favorite, The Ape of Naples uses Balance's final recordings and material recorded at Trent Reznor's studio in New Orleans to create a deep, heavy masterpiece.

This re-press is packaged in a heavy duty jacket with Ian Johnstone's original artwork coated in a custom spot gloss. Each LP is housed in a printed inner sleeve and side D contains all three original etchings. Ape's lyrics are spread across the gatefold.

Brighton punk/riot grrrl group PUSSYLIQUOR are set to release a new seven-inch EP on Revulva Records.

The 'What Of It' EP was recorded by Marc Waterman and mixed by Oliver Wright and is the follow up to their debut 'PUSSYLIQUOR's 7inch WONDER' EP. Featuring 'Lady Wank, 'C.U.NT.' and lead single 'My Body My Choice', the songs were written while the band were on their degree courses with Access To Music where the five like minded souls bonded over a passion for hard-core music and even harder core feminist beliefs.

The band explain - The subject of our focus at this time was around feminism, we were writing lots of songs surrounding the topic and sharing stories of when we've been undermined for our gender and the inspiration for the tracks came from a reflection of our own experiences. What we gained from sharing these experiences was empowerment over shame, through this song and our music in general we are encouraging others to do the same. 'My body, my choice, my life, my voice' these words can have an impact on any individual and it is a statement that should be passed through the ages.

Teenage Fanclub have announced details of the vinyl reissues of two more of their classic albums - Man Made and Shadows.

Released on Friday 14th December 2018 through Republic of Music, they will be packaged in faithful re-productions of the original vinyl artwork and available on heavyweight 180g single vinyl.

The band have also selected rarities, favourites and tracks previously unavailable on vinyl to include on a 7' with each album. These 7' singles will each feature two tracks and will only be available with the initial pressing of each album.

Additionally, the band are about to embark on a series of very special three-night runs of shows in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and London where they will be playing songs from different eras on each night, these will include songs never previously performed live by the band. Very limited tickets remain for two shows only in Glasgow and Birmingham.

A strange confluence of sound that sounds part Krautrock synth label Brain records, part Hyperdub.   Techno haze and synth wormholes with spectacular sound design that has banged at Berghain and soundtracked winter night drives.

Greenspan is known mainly for his work with Junior Boys and Jessy Lanza and Taraval is a longtime touring member of Caribou, but both have released several 12' and EPs of electronic exploration over the past few years. 

Inspired by synthesizer minimalists like JD Emmanuel, Cluster and John Carpenter, the two attempted to create a type of dance music with hardware that was indebted to their influences but did not feel intrinsically retrogressive. The idea was to make a type of raw synthesizer and drum machine music that could be listened to beside the hypermodern techno of Pearson Sound or Actress.  

The cover art is a tribute to a mysterious mural that looms over the Hamilton Ontario area where the album was recorded.
Each of the five tracks on the EP were edited down from much longer recording jams which were done with hardware sequencers in real time. SLIPKNOT have announced a 10th Anniversary Edition of their Double Gold UK certified milestone LP, All Hope Is Gone. The release will feature newly reimagined artwork by the band's own M. Shawn Crahan, remastered audio, and a bonus disc containing SLIPKNOT's landmark 2009 headline set from Madison Square Garden.

All Hope Is debuted on the UK Album Charts at Number 2 back on its release in 2011 and has gone on to sell over 200,000 copies in the UK alone. The album features some of the band's most iconic tracks, including "Psychosocial", "Dead Memories," and "Snuff." The Limiñanas are a couple and a band. They have produced records in their own garage in Cabestany located in the south of France for about ten years. They played in Australia, the US and toured Europe regularly. United Kingdom included. The first opus of the now series 'I have trouble in mind' was released on the initiative of Bill and Lisa Roe (iconic label 'trouble in mind") in the US in 2014. It combines all the 45t , unreleased songs recorded by the couple for 'Mojo magazine", tribute to Beach Boys, fanzines, micro labels. All the titles which were difficult to find and that fans were looking for. And now, here it is: I ve got trouble in mind vol 2. The Limiñanas now work mainly with the European label 'Because music". Thanks to their common forces, 3 albums were released. «Traité de guitarre Triolectique» with Pascal Comelade, 'Malamore", which was a tribute to Dino Risi and in 2018 'Shadow People' in the company of the American psychedelic pope Anton Newcombe. Marie and Lio work a lot, they record all the time and love 45t, maxi's and still collaborate with small labels from around the world for specific projects like the traditional song of Christmas 'Convenanza 'from Andrew Weatherall. In this second opus some covers of their favorite titles will be available. The lords of the new church 'Russia"n roulette", 'two sisters' from the Kinks which is the first song recorded with Anton and remixed by the American producer of the first White Stripes album Jim Diamond. 'Live will Tell' from Polnareff, a tribute to 'Suicide' recorded in Australia from the live version of the band and many others. The artwork was designed by Elric Duffau, as for the first volume. Small bonus: the two album covers placed side by side complement each other for a single piece.
