It’s in the grey space combining careful precision and an unbridled lack of restraint that Sydney musician Morgan Huggins hones his craft.
An advertising school graduate who couldn’t ignore his love of music, Morgan exudes a feeling of carefree commitment not only in his music, but in his approach to life. With an extreme attention to detail, Morgan’s sound fluctuates between delicate and throbbing moments, all in the pursuit of a memorable listening, and more importantly dancing, experience.
While Morgan is new to releasing music, he’s no stranger to Australia’s scene. Co-heading events, raves, festivals and gigs under the name of Lovejoy, Morgan’s experience with music has already been a long and personal one. Having supported the likes of Moodymann, Jennifer Loveless, Tom Trago, Andy Garvey & Lou Karsh, he has spent time perfecting his craft.
Morgan created Anzac Bridge Filter over the last two years, as he reconnected the city where he grew up, and where he now lives. It’s named after his favourite bridge, which he’s spent many hours traversing both physically and mentally, matched with the filter on his favourite synthesiser, Moog’s Sub 37.
“For me it is nostalgic, happy and sad all at once,” Morgan says. “These songs were written with the hope of reminding people that life is beautiful when they forget, as so many other songs have done for me. If “crying on the dancefloor” were a genre, I would pick that one.
For the most part, this record was finished in various small town libraries up and down the East Coast of Australia as I travelled and camped by myself at the start of 2020. The bushfires were still very much burning, and everywhere you went you could taste the smoke, and see freshly burnt houses, and yet everywhere I went people smiled at each other as they walked down the street.”
As he continues to produce, perform and collaborate, Morgan Huggins is moving into a new phase in 2021. He embraces his exposure to the music culture around him and has crafted a unique sound which is now being showcased to Australia and the world.
“I would particularly like to thank the librarians who were undoubtedly confused by my presence,” Morgan said.

To kick off with their series, SINM presents its first record: First try Fridays (incl. Chris Geschwindner remix). The tree tracker consists of a blend between UK Garage, House and Electro to bring forward cutting edge rave sensations with futuristic vibes.
A side takes you straight to a two-stepper projectile, setting the tone with "First Try Fridays" and its powerful wobble sub and short electric stabs. Perfect for threatening the dance-floor in peak time hours alongside mysterious DDA's approach.
On the flip side, Realness teleports you to a nostalgic scenario with its polished chord progressions and breakbeat strikes. After having been heavily played by the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Zip, Nicolas Lutz , Fumiya Tanaka and Margaret Dygas, the first and only Protectorate record (released exclusively on vinyl in the spring of 2009) quickly became a sought-after rarity.
10 years after, the Analogue Cops has decided to reactivate the collective’s output with four new tracks enclosing minimalistic afterparty fervor, contemporary Berlinesque electro, post-capitalist breakbeats, and luxury tech-house.
Cutting edge cuts crafted with a balanced ensemble of vintage and up-to-date machines, with an unfathomable attention to solidity and detail.

After a wafting deep house collab with fellow Italian Berlin resident Ruff Stuff, Black Loops (Ricardo Paffetti) brings Shall Not Fade a third EP of rolling, danceable house of the highest calibre. Paffetti has built a reputation as a creative, high-class producer and does not disappoint on "Circulation EP" - the Shall Not Fade regular makes tribute to classic Italian house while adding a futuristic, unique spin.
The 5-tracker opens with "Mike The Dog". It's a crazy electro-garage hybrid that foregrounds frenetic drum loops, while soft lofi chords give way to a disco-like bassline, starting the record off lightheartedly. Title track "Circulation" hits with a syncopated kick and dubbed out vocals that swirl in your head, contrasting a smooth, darker sound design made for sunset dancing.
Paffetti perfects a meticulous sound palette across the B-side. From "Banana 20", a pacey track lead by its squelching bassline, to "Dream2gether" - gliding lead synth, trading spotlights with the echoed vocal - these are love songs for the dancefloor. The EP closes out to "Danse sur L'Hardcore", a pumping beast of a house track studded with sparkling chord stabs and g-funk synth trills.

Liam Doc, a staple in the Scottish scene and resident at the Glaswegian institution Sub Club, brings a record of throbbing techno minimalism to Shall Not Fade. Having rubbed shoulders with some of the biggest names in Scottish dance music from Denis Sulta to Big Miz, Doc's sound is cool, collected and distinctively UK.
Energetic A1 "Jamie Said It Was Wicked" combines earworm distorted bass triplets with atmospheric steel drums, its strong rhythm dragging you into "Icarus" which puts on the breaks in a silky laidback house roller. Doc turns up the nostalgia for A-side closer "2008"; the wide bassline giving a classic noughties feel but with touches of chillout room memories in the smooth piano stabs. On the other side, percussion dominates.
"Looks Like a Mad Place" is proper eyes down business, a drum-heavy uk techno number with dubwise bite. More playful percussion on the hard drum hybrid power of "Thyme Bridge (Part II)", but the crowning jewel of the record is the closing track, "A.S.M.R (I'm Trying)". Delving further into pivotal forward club sounds, Doc creates a darker spin on uk funky elements with an ominous, vibrating bassline and ear tickling percs. The EP builds from a ravey sound palette into dark and raw British techno at its finest, proving Liam Doc is a master of his craft.

Guava returns to Control Freak for his second full length EP ‘The Dolphins are Back in Venice’ - a collection of 4 playful dancefloor bangers, precision engineered for the club.
Since his Control Freak debut with the ‘Lift’ EP in 2019, Guava has been hard at work in the studio. Following a move to Berlin (and a series of releases on the likes of Banoffee Pies and Holding Hands) he’s back on the label with a new and refined style, retaining the melodic flourishes of his earlier releases whilst turning his focus squarely towards the dancefloor - a perfect fit for our white label series. As an accomplished session musician, Guava continues to explore the synthesis between digital and analog production and songwriting techniques, innovatively self-sampling his own guitar playing across the record to add a human touch to his airtight productions.
On new 4-tracker ‘The Dolphins are Back in Venice’, which includes collaborations with rising UK artists Breaka & LUXE, Guava draws influence from a broad range of dance music styles in true CF fashion - combining rising, trance-influenced melodies with the syncopated rhythms and bassweight of the UK scene. Strictly limited vinyl release, hand stamped in London at CFHQ - first come first served!

New record label set up by Lord Of The Isles. Inspired by the long summer nights of the northern hemisphere. Known as the ‘Gloamin’ in old Scots language. When the edges blur and colours become a white pink haze, the possibilities can seem endless. Melancholic thoughts of the past inspire unbridled optimism for the future. The unexpected is expected between sunset and the fall of night.
The first expansive motif laid down for the new Dusk Delay imprint is the Geoglyph EP by Lord Of The Isles himself. Clocking in at 39 mins across 5 tracks; It expertly fuses rare vintage instruments and effects with ultra-modern production techniques. Side A sees state of the art sequencers lead the antique machines on a merry dance through dub techno excursions and ambient jungle soundscapes. Side B utilises a more traditional approach, however, the results are no less beautiful or otherworldly. The creative inspiration here is the same - vintage meets modern - but this time it’s created using live improvisations woven into coherent arrangements to terraform a similar fictional landscape of sound that belongs to the same galaxy as side A.
Available in all formats 26 April 2021 – includes a limited-edition marble vinyl release with postcard.

Sono Unica Records presenting SONO003 by versed Romanian producer Sepp.
A-SIDE
As an opener, 'South Side' is a remarkably confident and cohesive work of art. An array of steadily thudding kicks and subtle bass lines that speaks in the language of bombardement - served on a sharp silver platter. The heavier weapon of the EP is found in 'Sodermalm Island', where rhythmic and physical alerts are cued in with Sepp's sneaky voice darting through criss-crossing lines of his characteristic sound.
B-SIDE
The flip side starts off with 'Langholmen Area' - a bouncy tale of racing rhythms, jacked to the max, like a slot machine with infinite outcomes. The B-side is followed-up by 'Malaren River', a track whose more placid energy hints on a glimmering jaunt filled with chimes and awe.

In autumn 2019 Stefan Lessner aka Less fulfilled his dream to release his own ambient album. With “Stranger” he created an imaginary soundtrack, influenced by film and music of the classic movie Blade Runner, as well as the nights and observations of his new home
town Berlin. With proudness, one can say that this opus is a real highlight of music for horizontal life situations, which can easily take a place in the Vaporwave corner.
Now the first four remixes are available, which carry the vibe of the album into the club.
From the horizontal position and the head it moves on to the vertical and legs. For this, master Less was able to win over four equally skilled electronic sound processing experts, if all of their names would have been on a flyer, it would be for a must-go event to one
of the hippest clubs: Perm, Portable, Freund der Familie and The Exaltics. Together they all form a package that can be used several times in one night.
The remix of Zum Greifen fern is made by The Exaltics. Far away from any compromises it stops directly at the Electro station, in its classic form. Especially the dreamlike transformation of the original is a perfect fusion of melody and rhythm: you can easly get
the feeling that the voice of Human Leagues Phil Oakey is coming soon, but no, it’s not needed. The tones carry the track all by themselves, perfect to bring a clubset to the end.
Stefan outed himself to Alan Abrahams, aka Portable, personally as a fan. Portable likes to give back when it comes to emotions. He made the remix of Blütenstaub and it immediately
catches your attention. It gets intimate, sticks to your mind like honey and you end up closing your eyes in the middle of the dancefloor. In a better world, his productions would be on the radio.

We’re Going Deep’ is a new label run by an old head- Paul Wise, better known as Placid to many who inhabit the realms of underground House and Techno.
Born out of a lifelong affair with the many shades of deep electronic rhythms coupled with a thirst for collecting records since 1988, the label mission is all about releasing new music for the dance floor, front room or even just your headphones.
Rather than staying too hung up on the past, Paul’s reputation for digging deep into Acid, Electro, Techno, Deep House and even the odd slice of downtempo precedes him, as he readies the second instalment on his imprint. Picking up where WGD 001 left off, he’s both humbled and pleased to be able to invite 4 more exceptional artists to show off their finest waveforms.
Volume 2 starts the dance with a sterling contribution from Dublin’s very own machine maestro Cignol, “Night Time Traverse”. Proving once again why his flair for combining tight metronomic drums, wistful melody, blissed out strings with a twist of 303 is second to none: unmistakably tight, unmistakably good. Followed by some heavy head nodding action courtesy of new kid on the block, Armec, he’s already scored 2 fantastic releases under his belt. Fully repping the next generation of mancunian machine enthusiasts, he delves deep into the seedy underworld of deepest and darkest electro with ice cold aplomb on “Celestial Mechanics”.
Hit the flipside and you’ll find Acid aficionado Jared Wilson (who should be no stranger to most) leading the charge as he whips up a storm with a tweaked 303 takeover, led by a mesmerising chord that runs throughout – he works his magic once again in fine style. Last but not least, the dulcet tones of Bristol’s very own best kept secret Gilbert lands another sumptuously deep slab of techno with “Signs of Hope”. Leading with a pleasantly addictive bassline, this beautifully structured whistful symphony oozes warmth and tranquillity as he takes a trip to the light fantastic.

Two years ago, the Paris-based producer and DJ E00 released an EP called Do Not Visit The Club. It’s a cheeky title for this artist’s output of dreamy, driving, floor-stirring work—however, in 2020, it bears an entirely different reading. Today, we simply and definitively do not visit the club—the ethics of sharing sweat, spit and space have radically shifted. We miss it for the social effervescence, for the bullshit, most of all for the dancing—which begs the question: what does it mean to release dance music in this moment? To listen to tracks and dance in one’s kitchen is an act of memorial, and although a bit mournful, is also a kind of spiritual respiration: we need it. Rightfully so, E00’s drop on Radiant Love, coming out on the tail-end of this nightmarish year, is titled Peace & Tranquility.
The title track, which opens the release, starts off not with a bang but some kind of thrust: a low note felt in the gut, echoing and loopy chimes, and right away a drum pattern driving us forward. Over the next 8-plus minutes, some horizon-wide pads come into the mix, as well as a shuffling bass-line that speaks directly to the ass. Balancing the A-side is “Flexible Ground”—a downtempo ride awash in white noise and distended vocal samples that give a nod to Deep Forest. It’s a textured, complex sonic surface, with some particularly gorgeous processing of the drums—characteristic of E00, the hi-hat loop becomes a kind of expressive instrument that gets turned, tweaked, and filtered as the rest of the track rolls on.
“Biosphere” sets the B-side in motion with canopy birdcall and some ruminating pads; we get one bar of straight 4/4 kicks, and then the structure begins to play, evolve. Starting with those distinctive phase-shifted hi-hats, we work our way into a terrain of barking dogs, delicate piano lines, and even a clever drum-break so tastefully cloaked in reverb. Closing the EP is “Parade”, whose first minute and a half has all the makings of a low-tempo trance track: a punchy kick-drum marching along at 134 BPM, a dry clap and a hi-hat marking the off-beats. Before long, E00 pulls us back into the lush and syncopated world built up through the past three tracks. It’s hard to find a better word than ‘dreamy’—although we won’t simply be jolting awake from the terror of 2020, Peace & Tranquility is a welcome instance of lightness in this year. And I imagine it will be stirring up the dancefloors when we visit them once again.

"Midnight Snacks are moments in time created in the dead of the night - as the world sleeps, I get to imagine alternate realities. Through our imagination, we find new ideas and new possibilities, and share them in the hopes that we remind each other how things don’t have to be any one particular way. There’s always another perspective.” - MdCL
The ever-prolific MdCL has been blessing us with so much music over the last couple of years, getting heavy into his jazz-bag with Heritage, Ronin Arkestra and Dreamweavers. Always a man of multiple vibes and styles, his latest offering Midnight Snacks vol.1 eschews his bandmates and puts the beats and basslines front and center with four instrumental tracks of broken beat, house and downtempo to wrap your ears around.
Opening with Joyful Resistance Part I - created at the peak of the 2020 Black Lives Matter social uprisings in the US and around the world, spiritual jazz piano gives way to a swaggy head-nod 3/4 hip hop excursion sounding like a modern day blend of Harry Whitaker and Bernie Worrell. Blue Hour bring us into sunrise-house territory with MdCL's signature harmony and piano leading the way over lush strings, showing us yet another reason why he’s one of your favorite producer’s favorite producers.
Side B opens with 37,000 feet - a soundtrack to flying high in the skies and the anticipation of going somewhere new with broken beat drums, rhodes and free-wheeling synths taking us all the way there. Closing out the EP, Thanks Given brings us the broken-boogie with MdCL’s playful harmony and melodic flourishes oozing with uplifting goodness. Synth and piano solos are the icing on the cake rounding out this first installment of Midnight Snacks.

After a long break OVNIE returns with its third release, this time comes with a various artists format composed by 5 tracks.
A1. Antoine Sy delivers a reggae infused house groover to make you aware about the need to save the forests!
A2. "Imagine a beautiful lady acting like a robot in a super green garden under a glittering sun. She is clicking her arms and legs according to a simple 2-steppy texture and she is occasionaly singing nothing understandable except for a surfer-like interjection. Short-release synths and ethereal pads complete the picture adding some kind of nostalgic vibes to it. Yoyoyo!"
A3. Pohl strikes back with a moody a brilliant track on his own imprint Ovnie. „Traveling....“ has all the incredients to make you shake even at your home-office. A curly simple lead melody, a heavy old-school Bassline, crispy jacking drums and ascendant synth strings that colide with pealing LFO’ish addicting bleeps to a perfect dance track.
B1. Samuel delivers a more funky breakbeat vision with acid zaps, bleeping tones and reverse percussions to keep the pace up and down a sure track to keep the dancefloor jacking.
B2. Test tube is one of many unreleased collabs by Luks & Kizoku. The moodiest one of the bunch, it is driven by breaky percussion, resonant basslines and lush keys.
