Welcome to Audiolith's Stiff Little Spinners Volume 7. Once again, we asked familiar and unfamiliar sound progressors to build a helicopter out of paper-clips for us, however all they delivered was solid techno. Very well then! A1 Trummerschlunk & Ivan Capriles - Frau Bose (Abgelehnt, leider voll) Trummerschlunk operates wacky musical machines by teasing electronic music out of them. Tough, but sweet and beautifully minimal. Frau Böse' is an anthem against the compassion-lacking bureaucracy with which Europe cultivates its inhuman immigration (and deportation) policies. Electronic music can be more than numbing. A2 Kalipo - Dyson Kalipo a.k.a. Jakob Häglsperger shouldn't need any further introduction. As part of Frittenbude' he's a star, as Kalipo he's a down-to-earth producer and a passionate techno machinist. It's only natural that he would name this track after his new vacuum cleaner. A3 Joney & Gimmix - Can I Haz Guestlist The Hamburg-Leipzig axis stands for electronic music with an attitude. On both ends are artists who the monotony of familiarity behind and and break new ground. Sometimes a little difficult, mostly surprising, always with impeccable style and particularly wicked. B1 Rampue - Adagio for Phoenicopterus Only the one who knows what a flamingo really wants should attempt writing a track for these wondrous animals. Rampue has travelled to faraway countries and studied their wild-life along the way. This is how he knows that these birds can never resist a beautiful melody in adagio. B2 Krink - Ascent Krink - a name like a stone. Hard and void of embellishment.

Druzhba returns with a VA release that brings together a selection of stripped-down and atmospherics tracks. Side A is represented by the Berlin residents Ed Herbst and O.B.S. while Side B is overtaken by the house duo Worker Union along with an unknown artist. 300 copies!

May 2018 marks the release of two new N records on Denovali records. A new solo record by N(44) 'Vreden' and a collaboration by N(52) + Dirk Serries 'SC00'

First in line is the new solo record N(44) 'Vreden', featuring the live set N played on the very last Denovali festival at Weststadthalle, Essen, using a bigger rig with two halfstacks for a very monolithic sound, perfectly recorded by Andreas Brinke of ( B O L T ). In contrast to the more symphonic sounding records like N(43) 'Anklam', the three new tracks N wrote especially for this evening seem to be more stripped at the first glance, focussing on the vibrating connection between his guitar and the two-amp setup, with the multiple layers of sound hanging like wires in the air between the two amps, even in the moments of highest density. Especially when 'Vreden 2' opens up to a vast field of a dark and misty landscape, the guitar and the reverb of the seemingly endless room around blend into each other, like a perfect symbiosis where you can't tell anymore what the player does and what is just the answer of the room... The overall feeling of a deep melancholia peaks with the closing track 'Vreden NACHT', slowly evolving from the last trails of reverb of the track before, with the long super slow and lonely melody of the last requiem coming out of some sparse bass rumble...

First release for the Italian label Alley Version is a split built up of rugged jackin' patterns and brutalist house jams, all recorded on tape by Mituo Shiomi and Drum Machine. Limited to 200 copies.

TRORA Vol. 1 is Panda Lassow's interpretation of recent global tropical bass movements like Gqom, Kuduro and more. She likes bass music from around the world. Thus, we can also hear influences from Bounce and Booty elements. As born and grown up in Eastern Germany, in TRORA Vol. 1 she combines these with her musical roots she found in techno and rave music.

Librarian lives up to his name and comes hot on the heels of his Waxtefacts imprint's former tracks. Raw but full of melody. Discofied synths and strings full of sexy dust n dirt take us back to the sample-fied early days of housemusic. The bass keeps joyfully rumblin' while Latin percussions and vox power the deeper spheres. In the end, It's all hands up. What else, when the offer is free ice cream!

A2: Wouter S. & Firdjel Medar - Breakin' Habitz
Dutch House young shot Wouter S. has been raising stakes, whether with a podcast for Feel My Bicep or a guest mix for Shadow Child on Rinse FM. The collabo delivers what may not only be a Rinse anthem. Medar made himself another Utrecht force to be reckoned with by releasing on Slapfunk. Techno, House, early UK rave sounds - a holy communion, fueled by 909 machinery. Active, even psychoactive jackin' - all over!

B1: Jizz - From Underground
Jizz is hailing from Mexico and coming with a blast: straight and undiluted he represents from the revered Underground that keeps bass-ridden house funky. With a bass that is the riddim and a riddim that is the bass. Call it garage or call it whatever, this sho nuff will be movin' hips and shufflin' feet!

B2: Kolja Gerstenberg - Our World
Venturing slightly into minimalist and low slung house grooves, wonderkid Kolja Gerstenberg (of late Boiler Room Debuts fame) makes some vocal chops in hiphop manner and moody organs the order of the day. While he keeps a percussive beat taking its relentless toll. Forward ever, backward never. That's our future world at Kakudo!

Moby releases a super limited one off coloured vinyl pressing of 'Play B-sides', via his Litttle Idiot imprint'. First time this has ever been pressed on vinyl. Featuring tracks from Moby's multimillion selling 'Play' era. 'Play B-sides' includes some lost treasures and some of Moby's Best works, including the global hit Flower.

Carlo Troja aka Don Carlos is active as a DJ from the late 70's. He debuted as a producer towards the end of the 80's with the single 'Alone' , which became one of the cult tracks of the international Deep House scene. His productions have always mixed House rhythms with afro-american jazz sounds, verging sometime towards disco, sometime towards progressive house or electronic soul. In 1992 Calypso (Irma) released 'Mediterraneo" a mini album all by playing ... Deep Jazzy house !!!

ALEX is a dark, haunting and brooding synthwave record that sets the night on fire, taking you from darkness all the way to the shining lights of Broadway. With hints of cyberpunk, outrun and other 80's inspired retrowave influences, ALEX has developed a true signature sound that is funky, groovy and totally rocking. Artist bio: Originating from Edinburgh Scotland, ALEX is a Scottish born electronic music producer, composer and DJ. After spreading his sound to every channel and label possible, ALEX broke through in the most significant way possible. If you get the attention of Playmaker and NewRetroWave in the Synthwave scene, you're doing something right, and ALEX's unique approach to composition and production led to his debut release with NRW, the 'Blood Club' EP. And things haven't slowed for the young producer, with two more EP's and an album since his debut, each showing another side to the artist. After the release of his Drive inspired EP 'Youth', fans of the powerful vocal tracks 'Rebel of the Night' and 'Youth' can get excited for the pair of major budget music videos ALEX has in store, with filming having taken place in Russia and New York City. ALEX grew up listening to the likes of Daft Punk, Justice, Underworld, Chromatics, Deadmau5, absorbing the sounds of Disco, House, Hip-Hop, and Rock, cherry picking his favourite elements to blend into the new retro haze of his own material. He also cites film composers, such as Disasterpiece, John Carpenter, Vangelis, Johan Johansson, and John Williams.

True to his usual unique blend of many styles, Nachtbraker has delivered typically off-kilter 'Cobi Cabani' with crashes and sound design that punctuate a freaky bass and rippling lead. Dropping in for his debut outing on our label, Viennese resident of Sass club and founder of the 'Secret Crunch' imprint, Roman Rauch brings the filtered Disco House. Ripe with fruity percussion and deeply ingrained groove, 'Sweet Ears' breathes and builds keeping up energy to work bodies throughout the cut. Close friend of the Dirt Crew family and member of Detroit Swindle's Live super group, Lorenz Rhode is an extraordinary artist who's not only active in the House Music scene but also created his own Big Band, the Rundfunk-Tanzorchester Ehrenfeld. He gets right to it in 'On Top' a legit live key and bass jam with all the funk from a seasoned jazz musician. From across the Atlantic we have Toronto's Jesse Futerman teaming up with Dan Only, Jesse remixed Harry Wolfman's last EP on DC and is known for his laid back house grooves.

Something Happening Somewhere returns with a new collection of stories unified under the brand new NOWHERE compilation series. Shards of tales long forgotten are told and retold by a group of fellow travellers, exploring sounds in many shapes and forms. Sailing towards an unknown destination, revealed here are the hymns luring you into the abyss...

The NOWHERE 01 Vinyl Sampler is a carefully curated selection of freshly crafted propellants pressed on wax for the very first time. Quince gives us a saturated electronic work-out, combining gritty drum sounds with bass guitar and odd timed synth zaps. Kurt Baggaley's Detect was a digital exclusive from his Remembering Infinity EP, now finally available on black gold! It features a similar electro groove but uses artificial intelligence to add vocoder sounds and digitally aliased robot tears. Fader From Borneo takes a more frontal approach providing a catchy bass riff with warm pads and synthesised strings to guide you in a comfortable trance.

On the B-side we find Kiani & His Legion with another one of his emo burners, trademark nature inspired synth sounds and cinematic storytelling intertwine, pure bliss. Closing off this vinyl sampler is Sigward with a trippy and hypnotising cut that draws you in with razor-sharp synth signposts. As if warping through a tunnel of constantly shifting coloured lights, 'and then I flew out...'. Something is happening somewhere, but where...

The NOWHERE voyage is designed by our favourite designer Quentin Deronzier and for the Vinyl Sampler we're creating a unique silkscreen printed remix of his visual articulation. The face of a mortal being exposed from every angle it discloses every achingly beautiful, enchanting and haunting detail there is to discover. There are things hiding in the murky depths of the seawater, discoveries not to be looked into the eye and sounds never to be resonated by an eardrum. Perhaps nowhere is actually a place worth visiting.

Mysterious Berlin imprint MASK preps its second release with four more untitled tracks this March.
Continuing the theme of the first release, 'Noah' has been produced and recorded live in one take using a selection of analogue gear, including an EMU SP 1200, Mutual Instruments Ambika, Nord Rack 2x, Octatrack, Vermona Action Filter 4.
A soothing synth line sets the tone of the 'A1' before implementing sporadic drums and squelchy notes, making way for the melodic chords and a wall of sub bass in the mesmerising 'A2'. Murky atmospherics and a medley of percussive hits generate a dusty aesthetic in the 'B1' until the organic beat and distorted robotic sounds of the 'B2' provide an otherworldly conclusion to the enigmatic release.

Almost two years ago we reissued DJ Boom 'Kinda Kickin' with an extra Efdemin remix on CURLE-P06. Because y'all loved it so much, we decided to reissue some more Matthew Herbert deep house goodies. First up is 'See You On Monday' from the iconic "Part One" EP, 20 years old but still timeless! On remix duties is Linkwood, who released his brilliant "Expressions" album on Firecracker last year. He for one knows how to keep the groove whilst diving deep. Including limited silk screen artwork. First 300 on transparent vinyl.

GIANT RECORDS see's in the new year with a killer EP from a bright new producer from Poland - by the name of - MARIUZ KRYSKA - Mariuz offers up two peak time grooves here with remix duties falling on - SASCHA DIVE and GIANT head honcho GRANT DELL. The first track up is LOW JAM, which see's
the original mix dive into a deep drum lead swing - reminiscent of old Todd Terry beats, that have gone before, all topped off with a spoken word and tight hats and rides.
Next up is SASCHA DIVE - giving LOW JAM a slowed down Dubby feel with some sweet Dubbed-out stabs that evolves into that deep house sound that sascha has mastered over the years.
Next cut is NO PERSPECTIVE - Mariuz's original mix is a relentless bass heavy work out which weaves around some slick west coast gangsta rhymes and Detroit style strings and pads.
GRANT DELL'S take on No perspective leans on the Detroit style pad, from the original and add's some off kilter 808 beats that sit nicely along some smart 303 stabs and the gangsta rhyme - which then merges into a slick Techno jam with added breakbeat's.

Lüüd Discs is back on wax with the Misunderstood EP by Luvless, specific & powerful deep house from Germany, strictly timed to the rhythm of your heart so that the wind that breathes in the Aubrac can establish contact with the loved one.

Schvitz Edits is the brand new label from Nathan Micay aka Bwana. Each 12'' will contain two edits of classic, non-dance music songs and bring them into a modern and most definitely dance friendly context. After proving himself as a fearless remixer with his Capsule's Pride album on LuckyMe in 2016, Micay brings the heat on two very original remixes. On side A we have a dance floor ready interpretation of Dr. John's classic 'I Walk On Guilded Splinters' while the flip sees Gordon Lightfoot's ode of heart break 'Oh, Linda' transformed into an early 90's trance anthem. A very fresh take on the classic white label edits formula!
