STATUE is a live percussion based dance project, the brainchild of Melbourne drummer Tom Gould. Over the past five years he has honed his craft in cult Melbourne bands NO ZU and Worlds End press but now greets the dance world under the moniker STATUE. After featuring in last years Beats In Space - best of the year list with his debut 12", his second EP 'Monument' is a reflection of the human and a testament to dance floors both indoor and out. Last AVA. release in 2014 comes from labelhead Damiano von Erckert himself. Well known for fresh collaborations von Erckert links up this time with Chicago based soulful house legend Peven Everett. After a very successful year and a lot of hype around his name, von Erckert keeps movin' forward with 'MICKEY M. AND THE MARLBORO MAN' and represents the AVA. sound in its roots. Groove, dance and a big smile.Damiano's and Peven Everett's collaboration 'All about lovin' me' shows the connection and similarities between those two guys: Soul. Von Erckerts '4 O' Clock. You Are In A Club Mix' of 'All about lovin' me' is much more danceable and darker then the original version. House groover 'Diamonds and Girls' is released on this EP as well, which is on heavy rotation worldwide by lots of DJs and friends of AVA. After two well received releases on Optimo The Junto Club return with their debut EP on brand new label Snap, Crackle & Pop, born of the London club night of the same name. The A side features two slices of dance floor ready post punk from the Glasgow four piece, throwing references from everything from Suicide to Weatherall. On the B-side Khidja's remix teases out the disco groove before growing into a monstrous acid house inspired freakout in its second half, paving the way for the Ivan Smagghe & Cross version which delves even further into acidy motoronic beats.

Lux Exterior is the long player follow up to Sordid Sound System's debut EP In A Year Of 13 Moons (INVINC 04) which came out last year garnering plays from the likes of Andrew Weatherall, Manfredas, Mr TC, Mutant Disco and Krossfingers.
The new record features 6 tracks once again recorded during overnight sessions in Glasgow's Green Door Studio utilizing several beat up analog synths, two Roland Space echoes and the studio's Tascam MS16 multi-track tape machine.
Lux Exterior is an eclectic body of music arising from what its producer describes as 'a series of musical collisions and vocal experimentations'.
The record begins with the motorik hypno drama of The Baron, followed by the post punk dub psych of Scratch and then the sprawling widescreen Technicolor of the title track. The B-side opens on the floor of a cosmic discotheque with Der Mond and then works its way through the minimalist -voodoo swamp funk of I Walk On Splintered Gilders before closing with the unhinged synth dancehall styling's of Keep Your Head.

The 2nd single release of Alex Bank's debut album - Illuminate', like its predecessor features the inimitable Elizabeth Bernholz. - A matter of time' is an electronic dancefloor ballad. Shuffled kick drums and soft arpeggios make for a laidback groove while a warmly distorted analogue pad and corresponding bassline push the track forward into club twilight.

The record comes packed with a straight 4/4 remix by Frank Wiedemann of Ame and Howling fame, which unexpectantly evokes banging acid techno and its newer re-definitions. For our debut release we have dug deep into the archives of Greek Jazz fusion to unearth and reissue some obscurities from the catalogue of esteemed composer Michalis Rakintzis. Rakintzis should need no introduction to Greek ears, widely recognised as a celebrated composer and lyricist since the 1980s with his career taking in more than 20 personal albums, numerous singles and several high profile collaborations. His composition 'Arrest', lifted from 1988's OST to the film "Lifelong" was selected and included on the hugely popular Greek music compilation "Into The Light" in 2012.
For Isigude's first 12" vinyl release we draw our focus to the 1987 track 'I don't believe' featuring vocalist Eleni Dimou. "I don't believe" combines pop, rock and eastern melodies and feelings and sold more than 100,000 on it's original release.
Featured here in remixed form by up and coming greek producer Zaq (a.k.a Img_02) the original composition is reimagined and the result is a low tempo dreamy, balearic Disco burner with Dimou's lyrics expressing her disbelief in love, beautiful moments, oaths and sacrifices, with her requesting to be set free.
A truly beautiful and tasteful reimagining of a lost rarity, the perfect way to launch the label.

NU YORK GROOVE SESSIONS drops a hot collection rare boogie funk, jazzy disco and classics taking it back to essence of the Sound of New York. There's a definitive cross section of flavors giving you a look into the late 70's and early 80's.

This retrospective compilation highlights five years of existence for the french label Cracki Records, featuring Renart, Voiron, Agar Agar, Caandides and more.

"Get on down" is a heavyweight slice of storming Jamaican Disco-Reggae heat from the legendary studios of Miami's TK Disco empire. King Sporty's version may not have been as well known as Connie Case's electro laden later 1982 version (also produced by Sporty) but the perfect marriage of Disco stylings and Sporty's Jamaican roots meant the original 1979 version was a cult classic in underground deep Disco circles.
Over 35 years since "Get on down" was released the keepers of the TK Disco vaults have given permission for some of their classics and lesser known gems to be respectfully tweaked by contemporary producers and DJ's who fully understand the lineage of the label and the music contained within.
Stepping up and get his hands dirty is none other than London dwelling, WOLF music man - Medlar. A regular face behind the turntables all over the world Medlar has lovingly freaked King Sporty's anthem for the modern dance-floor, extending the right parts in just the oh so right way, dubbing out parts that needed just a smidgen of echo here and there and generally making the track irresistible to DJ's with it's lovely long beat led intro. These are extremely tasteful edits, done with respect and reverence over 2 parts - old school style. Look out for those low flying dubbed out vox and lazer beams too, powerful stuff! This is only one of many underground Disco classics that the mighty Miami based TK Disco label brought to the world, reimagined for 2016's dance-floor, officially sanctioned in conjunction with Henry Stone Music / TK Disco. We are absolutely thrilled to present Larse's first EP on SUOL. This man from Dortmund has a long list of fantastic releases to his name, with originals and remixes on great labels such as DFA, Defected and Eskimo, to name just a few, as well as Beatport number ones, a BBC 'Essential Tune', one of the most influential German club music radio shows to date, a gold record, you name it... needless to say we are very proud to welcome this outstanding producer to our little SUOL family. Larse's trademark style is eclectic, smooth and soulful yet very danceable, which is just the way we like it here at SUOL, and this EP is no exception.
We kick things off with 'Wanna Be Like You' featuring Lisa Shaw on vocals. The touching lyrics combined with Lisa's beautiful voice perfectly complement the track with its lush harmonic synths and dreamy delays on top of a solid foundation of crisp kicks, hovering hihats and drawn out bass notes that will give you goose bumps. The instrumental track 'Connection' goes deeper. Driven by a fast, modulated synth stab and an irresistible shaker groove, this one just builds and builds. Carried by a classic moog bass line, it initially focuses almost entirely on a straight four on the floor rhythm before opening up with a triumphant harmony and finally giving the mesmerized dancers the claps and offbeat hi-hats they will so desperately be craving by then.
Did we mention Larse used to be a Hiphop DJ Well, it certainly shows in 'Kind Of Culture' which sports an oriental vocal sample that is transformed so delightfully it might as well be Q-Bert himself manning the cross-fader. Pairing up this ridiculously hooky cut with the funkiest of House grooves, a hypnotically straight melody, cheeky claves and tons intricate details to feast your ears on whilst getting down, here is a sure-fire dance floor winner to complete this magical EP. 'On Canvas Pt. 2' will follow before the year is out. We can't wait!

OCH has a strong pedigree of collaborations with fellow underground stalwart Jay Bliss the latest to share space on a Autoreply record with the label boss. Bliss should be known to many as the co-owner of Electrique Boutique alongside Markus Homm, for a long time the only vinyl outlet in Romania, and his discography makes for impressive reading these days. Recent times have seen Mr Bliss share record space with the likes of Skudge and Petre Inspirescu on respected imprints like 20:20 Vision, All Inn, Hudd Traxx and Fear Of Flying. AUTO 015 kicks off with a bouncy rework of OCH's "Scammell" from Bliss featuring sub-aqua sound-scapes and sonar blips on an instantly playable US inspired groove. OCH's original has a distinctly liquid approach possibly referencing the work of LTJ Bukem and Good Looking over techno framework. Jay's main offering "Men Are From Mars" is sexy controlled acid which OCH shifts up a gear for peak time floor-play layering the original TB303 patterns to thundering climax. Road-tested on Eleven Club, Tokyo's Alpha System's custom speakers.

Joey Negro's tastemaking and scene defining disco-house label Z Records is proud to announce its next full-length release, namely a debut album from Sean McCabe entitled 'It's Time'. It's an LP that bucks the modern trend and shows up many of its peers by being one that is made of wholly original material, sounds and ideas, rather than one that leans on tired and classic samples.

This lush and musical 12-track affair is Sean's first big solo project and it has been in the works for almost three years. Written mostly in his Bristol studio, the LP features a wealth of international collaborations - Jennifer Wallace, Diane Charlemagne, Renn - and has been made primarily on real hardware such as the Fender Rhodes, SH-09, Juno 106, Poly 61, JV-1010, EMU Vintage Keys and the Moog Slim Phatty. Sean who has been producing since his teens and includes fine labels like US garage staple King Street Sounds, Defected, Strictly Rhythm and Local Talk in his discography says of the album: 'It was important for me to get it perfected to my original vision, and to keep that vision throughout was difficult. I've literally drawn inspiration from everything that's influenced me as producer and writer over the years. I always wanted to create something that demonstrates all my tastes in soulful dance music which can be influenced by so many sub genres like Hip Hop, Disco, Jazz, Soul, Deep House, US garage etc. The NuYorican Soul album has always been a benchmark for me in terms of a perfectly constructed album and is something I never get tired of listening to.'Those influences shine though in this fantastically musical and deeply considered album: it bares all the hallmarks of a proper full length that has been built from the ground up with fantastic arrangements, catchy vocals and real song structures.

'Everything's Alright' opens the album in glorious style, with retro-tastic and sing along vocals, well defined and authentic house production and plenty of feel good chords. From there, there's skipping and soulful house like 'Something About You', diva vocal cuts like 'Holding On' and blissed out dancepop nuggets like 'Tomorrow's Another Day'. The good vibes continue from start to finish with many highlights along the way, such as the sultry and seductive deep garage house of 'Want Me' and classically inclined joys of 'Love For Life'. The production values are sky high on this album, and though it might have been a long time in the making, it was worth it, because it categorically proves that now really is Sean McCabe's time.

After impressing with his debut album, 'Buy The Ticket, Take the Ride', on Tsuba last year, Magic Feet label boss Craig Bratley is back with a hot new EP on his own label that features tracks by Unisexl Audio Club, Beato Cozzi and the man himself.

Since 2014's LP release, Bratley has been remixed to great effect by Ewan Pearson and has continued to take his machine made, darkened disco sounds to clubs and festivals around Europe.

His sound is robust and analogue, has come out on labels like Andrew Weatherall's Bird Scarer and Is It Balearic and now for the first time arrives on his own Magic Feet, a label that has showcased sounds by Timothy J Fairplay, Antoni Maiovvi and Tommy Awards amongst others.

Up first here is Unisex Audio Club with 'Event Duality,' an elastic, low swinging, mid tempo track with frazzled synth lines, pixelated melodies and lots of dark energy. Flabby bass adds serious weight to this most arresting affair.

Beato Cozzi offers up 'Killer ', which comes on like a long forgotten Italo B-side, a chugging rework of a solitary 1990 chart hit that sounds all the more resplendent for its rainy alien melodies, extra visible and twinkling chords and invitingly laboured drums.

Then comes Bratley with the first of two cuts. 'Photons' is seven minutes of loose and lush house music with arcing pads, feel good chords and emotionally swollen melodies. It's the sort of breezy, al fresco tune that would sound great at a boat party and shows a more tender, vulnerable side to Bratley's work.

His second, 'Analogue Voodoo', is a slow and sparse affair where futuristic synth lines, apocalyptic drums and darkened spoken word snippets all conjure an unsettling, industrial mood. It's a fresh sounding cut that is destined to stand out on any dancefloor.

This is another fine offering from Magic Feet that offers disco lovers of all shapes and sizes something to explore and enjoy.

Our star is Frode Holm, a Norwegian renaissance man who introduced Oslo to bell bottoms and two-tone sofas, prog noodle and wigged out jazz-rock before diving headfirst into Silicon Valley's 1980s PC boom. Thankfully before the AWOL audiophile joined Flynn and Tron in the Grid, he did hit the studio and lay down the criminally overlooked pop masterpiece '.Login'. Boasting the best of disco, jazz, rock and new wave, as well as housing our beloved 'Fotspor', the kaleidoscopic stylings of '.Login' should have topped the charts - but with a solo Phil Collins at the height of his powers, the timing was all wrong. Thankfully the Olsen family are here to put things right with a much needed release of 'Fotspor' 2.0.

Borrowing a little extra load from those friendly guys at CERN, Terje turns on the hardware and powers out a pair of supercharged dance floor reboots on the A-side, in disco and dub form respectively. The disco mix shimmies into view on a killer Compass Point 4/4, firing out celestial sequences, Supernature keyboards and mirror ball guitar while Holm's aspirational vocals soar way overhead. Tropical synth riffs turn up the temperature and blazing horns offer bursts of sun kissed colour while the star grazing synth solo blasts us into distant dance floor orbit. On a dub tip, Terje takes us on a glue sniffing groove mission from Oslo to Kingston - Rio to Romulus. Space Echo and Bucket Brigade Delay clothe the funk guitars, clipped horns and chattering monkey drums in a nebulous haze, spiralling off around the sound space as we deck out the love boat in true Carnival style. Stand still to this You may as well play hoopla on a unicorn's horn.

As we skip to the flip we say hello to Oslo edit machine Bobby Spice, who rearranges the original into a loose and limber funk freestyle complete with cocktail sipping crowd sounds, balloon rubbing bassoons and seesawing organs. Shaking a yuppie leg in conga line with 'Club Tropicana', 'Wham Rap' and 'Chant No. 1', this wine bar banger is the finest lifestyle choice you'll make all year. The ever intrepid Bjorn Torske takes the reins for the B2, rolling a barrel of monkeys into studio A and locking the door for the next seven minutes. Those percussive primates make light work of the master tapes, pulling the original apart and reassembling it into a sunset spectacular awash with croaking guiro, tropical bird calls and spaced out slap bass. A masterpiece of disorienting dub disco, Torske's echo heavy remix should sound perfect in the sweat and swelter of a midsummer dance floor.

If you dig on the digital you'll love the syrupy sway of Rune Lindbaek's sloppy cosmic rework - a mid expanding trip born out of rattling percussion, 'I Feel Love' bass and swirling milky way magic - and a right to the point radio mix from our main man Terje.

Phil Collins can keep 1981. 2016 belongs to Holm CPU and his bell bottomed grooves.

Another killer release from the essential re -edits/rarities label Moton.Number 39 brings us three more obscurities lovingly edited by label head honcho Diesel with the funky as hell Feels So Good leading the EP. Kicking off the B side you will find a great Latin version of Ian Dury's Wake Up, then rounding off the EP is Discomora classically cut and spliced to perfection for your dancefloor pleasure.

But this is not an exercise in nostalgia, rather a journey that seeks to reframe Balearic music in the present moment by embracing that 'anything goes' spirit via the avant-garde of Finis Africae's Managua', rare classics like the Arabic pop funk of Ahmed Fakroun's Nisyan' and Cameroonian poetry of Francis Bebey's Forest Nativity', with the proto Ambient House of Spooky's Orange Coloured Liquid' and modern productions like Dominique Dumont's Comme ça', Andras's Gold Coast' and Mark Barrott's Deep Water'. Balearic in its truest form is all these things and much more, it's cosmopolitan and countercultural, international yet wholly specific to a singular place on Earth.

It lights upon and encapsulates all the evocative beauty of Ibiza, the sounds themselves matching the colour palette of the island. The red dirt hills and the white sands, the pink blooms of almond trees and the electric blue of the water surrounding Es Vedrà, the magnetic magic, vivid colours and raw beauty of Ibiza is all here. At its root, Balearic music is always experiential. Hello Sailor Recordings third release features Esa 'Brazilian Remakes'London based South African Esa Mervin Granger is part of a unique breed of talent emerging on the electronic music scene. Drawing influences from his roots but firmly looking towards the future, Esa embodies a sound without limitations.
Esa has developed a distinct yet and expansive musical identity. A regular at many of the best underground parties, venues and festivals across the UK and Europe, Esa has also carved out a niche curating electronic music-focused educational programmes in Cuba, East Africa and South Africa which forms part of the Highlife World Series project. Continuing to further his knowledge and share his skills inspiring enthusiastic DJ's and producers around the world.
After a trip to Brazil in late 2015, Esa had the opportunity to meet some inspiring young Brazilian DJ's / producers, notably Dani Souto, Carrot Green & Millos of Selvagem who introduced him to the Cel-Som record store in downtown Sao Paulo, it was here that Esa discovered some of the legacy artist such as Zeze Motta, Tribo Massahi and Tim Maia which were the source of inspiration for these two remakes, the first from legendary Tim Maia, 'Que Beleza' with new arrangements and elements was given beautiful percussion and fresh spacey atmosphere, quite transcendental and pleasant to the ears.
Sandra Sa, 'Trem do Central' delivers a more DJ / Dance floor friendly version with filtered samples, a funky bassline and detuned chords.Both remakes celebrate the respected artist and their great music.

Trevor Jackson has been working at the forefront of audio and visual culture for over 20 years. The London based Creative Director, moving-image maker, producer and DJ's work includes countless classic record covers, and has been exhibited at prestigious international galleries/museums like the ICA, the Barbican, and the Guggenheim. Jackson's iconic Output Recordings label ran from 1996-2006 and helped launch the careers of Four Tet and LCD Soundsystem. Trevor released a classic 'DJ Kicks' album, for !K7 and remixed artists as diverse as Metronomy, Massive Attack, U2, The Cure, Tiga, Run DMC, Soft Cell and Dinos Chapman.
