Four different takes on the deep house sound that we know and love here at PFT.Label regular/boss Goshawk kicks things off with the dubby slo-mo house grooves of 'Take You Home' which has a raw hypnotic disco inflected groove complete with chopped up vocals. Serious biznizz.Tatsu (aka DJ Isaac Indart from the Puro crew in Palma, Mallorca) offers up the bumping deep vibes on 'Walk Away' - think snapping snares, square wave basslines and sunkissed pads. WARM.Tim Tonal is most notably known for being part of the Alphadogs, whose incredible 'Bonelicker EP' on DIY is an all-time free party classic. From the land of Blah Blah comes this new 12 inch consisting of two brand new KBE edits and a couple of unreconstructed original gems. First edit is of an old Bert Stride track from 1983, originally recorded at Compass Point in Bahamas and mixed by FK - this starts with the actual song and moves into dub territory. An irresistible steel drum hook combined with that "Island" feeling and the unmistakable voice of Bert Stride makes for a true Balearic winner. Next in line is 'Thanks But No Thanks', one of those great warm up records heard in bars around Ibiza and also hugely popular in Italy - an 80s jazz cover version of that old Devaughn track from the early 70s, made even more famous by Massive Attack on their debut album. Flip over for record diggers' heaven 'Baateside', a funky obscure library music gem full of sunshine and beach feeling, lush keys, ambient guitars, wobbly bass, floating pianos, edited and with added guitars from KBE - a guaranteed Shazam free 'Cafe Del Mar' vibe. Last but not least is 'Leo's Diner', an old mid 80s Ibiza classic - pounding drums, groovy organ, strumming guitars, dubbed out indie vocals, memories of hierbas and madness. Blah Blah is limited vinyl, no digital - don't sleep.

It would have been easy for Jose to have made a chill-out album, but instead he has worked together with four forward-thinking producers to create a modern album, moving across the genres held together by the umbrella we call "balearic".

Jose Padilla is loved by many for his work soundtracking sunsets at the Café Del Mar and compiling the seminal Café Del Mar compilations which sold over six million copies. His fans are wide and varied, on one end of the spectrum you have Madonna or Karl Lagerfeld, and on the other DJ legends such as Harvey and Andrew Weatherall.

The four aforementioned producers Padilla worked with are; Mark Barrott of Sketches From An Island and founder of International Feel; Telephones, a man making serious waves right now with his deep house sound; Dusseldorf based and natural beat maker Wolf Müller a.k.a Jan Schulte; and Australian Tornado Wallace of Tim Sweeney's Beats In Space label.

All four are known for differing styles and sounds, though their work together with Padilla runs naturally as a cohesive whole. Barrott brings a deep oceanic mellowness, Tornado the electronic synthesized melodic beats and grooves, Wolf Müller welcomes the afro end of town and Telephones has produced three tracks of beautiful dream-like house music.

Each producer was flown to Ibiza to work at Jose's home in Santa Agnes, set up their studios in the house overlooking the one of the islands most beautiful valley's and spent a week collaborating with Jose immersed within the feeling of the island. Each found their own sound within the walls of Jose's villa, but ultimately it is all extremely Balearic.

'Day One', 'Lollipop' and 'Blitz Magic' produced by Telephones pay heed to the newly revived dream house sound - expect an underground sleeper hit from one of these this summer. Mark Barrott produces 'Solito', as well as the beautiful album closer, 'Remember Me', and the acoustic guitar vibes of 'Mojame'. Muller brings Brazilian afro beats to 'Whistle Dance' and 'Afrikosa', and the album wouldn't be complete without Tornado's 'Maybe The Sunset' - a ride on Ibiza sunshine - and the widescreen 'On the Road'.

Jose Padilla has created an album for dancing wildly, relaxing wholly in nature, and losing yourself in. It is a true musical journey covering all angles of the balearic scene and reminiscent of one of the classic Cafe Del Mar compilations but in one artist album, and that artist is Jose Padilla.

After having been super quiet on the output front for a good few years now, Oslo DJ and occasional Full Pupp producer Marius Circus is back with boom and a boing and a tschak, having decided to launch his own label. The label is called "In The Garden". Whether that is a Eurythmics tribute or a nod to suburban living is anyone's guess. It might possibly be both.

In the Garden's first release sees Marius Circus twiddling most of his machines on the title track, «Roger Wilco's Night Out». It's a piece of proper viking rave, obviously referencing everyone's favorite space janitor. Sean Johnston of Hardway Bros fame takes on the title track. He tweaks it into a proper groover, with a slightly darker and moodier vibe. It will surely sit well with the ALFOS crowd. On the flip, «Amateur Time Travels» is a more mellow number, with dreamy synths, marimbas and off-kilter percussion bound to put a smile on your face. Finally, fellow Oslo resident Øyvind Morken takes on «Movements», without any original being in sight. The Moonlighting boss channels his inner Dj Buck and Doc Martin, for a great version with chugging beats and synthesizer lines and bouncy percussion.

There's certainly a little bit of something for everyone on this one. The record comes housed in a stunning sleeve, designed by none other than Pete Fowler.

Strangelove Recordings makes its bold arrival with its inaugural release from the well-seasoned beatmaker Worthy, with the aptly titled 'A Little Weird EP'.
'A Little Weird' stretches across the A-side with its bouncy drum and sub figure; spread thick over a searing lead line, percussive bleeps and Worthy's all-yearning vocals that crescendo with a playful momentum. On the flip, 'Bang Baby' keeps up the pressure with its warm and weighty bassline and fractured drum programming calling once more for Worthy's vocal tones, bouncing atop the bumping rhythm track that stylistically treads the line between house, bass and tech.

Hannulelauri have lain silent for more than half a decade, the Finnish duo seeming to have disappeared into musical memory. But thankfully this is not the case. Resurrected, the pair return with a quartet of space inspired disco from their vaults. Starting off with the warming plinks of 'Earth', the duo then dazzle with the laser show of 'Crossing'. The flip keeps the goodness flowing. 'Blinds' strips back basslines to let bright bars and strings shine before the playful whimsy of 'Dream' closes. Tracks from a decade ago and still sounding as fresh as ever.

Lucas Koprowski aka "His Dirty Secrets" was born and raised in Poland, today he resides in beautiful Key West, Florida. Lucas began his career in music whilst attending the Music Academy in Poland, graduating with his masters in Classic Violin.

Constantly searching for new techniques to expand his musical repertoire, he began taking recording studio classes, mastering software and analog instruments. Eventually he designed the sounds that he later applied to his music, first, with hip-hop, then with nu-disco, which gave the original artists more recognition and independence.

Winning the competition for the best mix in South Florida gave him a chance to play a set in one of the best underground clubs in America, the Electric Pickle. In 2016, he published his first EP, a compilation of his disco edits and house music with Midnight Riot in London. The single ended up in at #1 for several weeks on the Juno Disco Charts and gave him the opportunity to release the vinyl with another UK label, Masterworks, positively reviewed in Mixmag magazine and more.


Masterworks Music kicks off it's third year in fine fashion with His Dirty Secrets and the "Girlfriends Revenge EP." Don't let the titles fool you, the only thing dirty about this EP are the grooves. which are about as filthy as a quaalude-fueled brothel on Sunday morning. Low slung vibes permeate both sides of this deadly, wax affair and HDS wastes no time getting things cooking with opener, "All The Way." A looped bass riff keeps the pace for close to seven minutes while horn stabs and jangly guitars bounce around next to soulful chants. "Fantom (African Woman)" comes up next with a percussive stomp and vocals courtesy of Nigeria's own funk king. Flip it over for "Floatin'" where a familiar, Ashford & Simpson groove gets some heavy scalpel work and updated key melodies to a beautiful effect. Once the stings hit about half-way through, you too will believe in the restorative power of love, truly gorgeous. Wrapping us up is "Prelude," a hip-shaking rework of an absolute classic. perfect for the wind-up or wind-down.the choice is yours!

From the tropics comes Whiskey Disco, a sneaky re-edit label bent on dredging the decanter for diffident dancefloor genius
from latent disco perpetrators. It's loosely connected to Sleazy McQueen and his assorted cohorts. WD39 You Get By is the
second outing from Rabo & Snob, the Tel-Aviv based duo who previously surprised and delighted on Whiskey Disco #32; 3
chart-topping songs that brought this duo into the disco limelight. The fundamental goal of modern disco is to ride the groove
and make folks move. R&S have an uncanny ability to distill music to this point by weaving new textures over old and creating
instant classics. You Get By, Believe and Together carry this torch with subtle nods to our inner disco hippy, signaling themes
of peace, love and boogie. The title song has been re-touched by Love Dance. LD have tweaked the original vocals for a
headier combination, aimed at the dawn patrol.

Soul Clap step up to the fabric compilation series with an eclectic selection to loosen up the dancefloor. With a style that's distinctively their own, they carve hip hop, funk, soul and disco into a modern house music sound. The Boston raised and NYC based DJ and production duo reach a decade of releases in 2017 and fabric 93 takes the baton from 2016's self-titled artist album and their 2015 EP with seminal funk legend George Clinton.

Soul Clap have aimed to showcase their many styles into the 70+ minutes of the mix. fabric 93 draws on electronic music that's futuristic, but still funky as hell - exploring the ideas behind the surge of new synthy, funk-influenced music coming out. The spirit of house is represented from the soulful sounds of Ancient Deep, Ken Gill and Daev Martin, the voice of Life On Planets' vocalist Phil Celeste, to the afro styles of Sol Power All-Stars and Maajo, to the classic samples of Barbara Tucker, Indian Ocean and Storm & Herman

The ring master's voice booms through the arena's speakers. "Ladies and Vagabonds. Round Three just kicked off and both teams seem bent on wrapping this up with brute force. The Good Guys seem to be cornering their malevolent adversaries there, but wait! a swift jab to the jaw and Team Decent hits the canvas" Rising talent Tell (Beat-x-Changers, Banoffee Pies) from Paris handles the opening play for the Good Guys on the third missive of the fledgling Quartet Series imprint. Tell seems to confirm Paris is rapidly reclaiming its former status as a hotbed for raw and moody house music by offering up a delectable blend of lavish chords, distorted sounds and melancholic vocals. Darko Kustura (Pole Jam, What's in the Box) throws in some additional punches for the Good Guys. The Croation beatsmith might not be the most prolific but made a name for himself with an amazing ep on Legendary Sound Research under his Teleskop moniker and treats the crowd to a wobbling groovy baseline and sugary sweet chords. Being Bad can be a good thing sometimes as well. The dark side has cookies, after all. Mancunian Loz Goddard (Dirt Crew, Outplay, Razor-n-Tape) steps out of his comfort zone and delivers a sonic uppercut with a mad piece of swinging acid. Accompanying him on the team is our Hungarian BAL 5000 (SPIEL) who flexes his acid muscle to disorientate and a dubby bass to sedate. The acid is his, but he's willing to share. All in all we'll have a very interesting fight ahead of us. DING DING!

Ben Bix is a multi-instrumentalist and producer renowned for his curiously charismatic work with the band Meltybrains Feather is a familiar vocal presence from Loah, whose voice ranges from a shy whispers to jazzy soul.

Releasing an album is a daunting task, especially in dance music.
You got to keep it fresh and exciting from the very beginning until the last track, not sticking to one tempo, make tracks that work both at home and in the club and ultimately tell a story with your music.

Alexander Lay-Far knows a thing or two about this, having his debut album 'So Many Ways' out back in 2013. The thing with Lay-Far and a big reason why we've always had a soft spot for him is his way of incorporating a certain magic in the tracks that leaves you on an uplifting and optimistic note. Therefore we're really excited to release his second album, How I Communicate, on Local Talk.

How I Communicate is a two part vinyl release which we hope will come as a fresh breeze in these days where so much dance music simply lacks the actual musical aspect or the organic approach.
Like most producers and DJs that are influenced by soul, disco, jazz and the blacker side of electronic dance music its all about the actual 'tune'.
Listening (or dancing) through this album we hope you'll find your special tune (or tunes!) that hopefully will bring joy to your ears.

To his aid Lay-Far has invited an impressive cast of collaborators such as Ashley Beedle & Darren Morris, Restless Soul, Sean McCabe & Mark De Clive-Lowe to give the tracks that little extra something under the watchful eye of Lay-Far himself.

Capital Bass continues to gather Russian names under one roof and expand stylistic variations. Next big thing is a three-track EP from Ponty Mython (Alex).
This is the second EP by sir Ponty Mython on Capital Bass. It has been two years since his bulletproof Jesus EP in 2013.
During these two years Ponty Mython has been working with such iconic house imprints as Arma, Quintessential, Dirt Crew and others. His new Adverbs EP is a quite eclectic thing.
Side A is a filtered house banger Gracefully - a result of sampling games with Moscow house star Lay-Far (Local Talk, In-beat-ween). Side B - Afterwards tune is a real one-loop thriller, dirty and raw, with African samples and invisible sub bass line.

The legendary West End Records kick off 2017 with the a brand new re-edits series inviting like-minded producers with an underground thirst and a deep understanding of house & disco culture to collaborate on a very special project.
First up, Wolf Music man Medlar; applying his dancefloor know-how to West End's rich archive of classic disco and boogie. Hand picking four personal favourites, Medlar reworks them perfectly for current club sets. Picking out dub sections and skilfully reworking & extending them proving exactly why Medlar has been such a draw to labels like Delusions of Grandeur and For Discos Only.'I put these edits together for myself and a few friends to play in our DJ sets. West End was one of the key stepping stones to what would later become house music and for many is the definitive sound of early 80s New York. I'd argue that it's aged better than any other label of that era and if you're relatively new to the label or know it inside out, the catalogue can likely still provide something new.'
These four sublime new edits from Medlar showcase his passion for digging deep, knowledge of house history and skills as a producer.
