Fresh from recent remixes for The Golden Filter and Perel we're proud to present the debut 12 from Cooper Saver backed with remixes from Matt Karmil and Prins Thomas. Cooper Saver is a Los Angeles based DJ and producer responsible for Far Away - a roaming party, cassette mixtape series, and radio show on Dublab. Over the last 6+ years, Cooper has consistently brought unique and underrated talent from abroad to LA for his late-night warehouse party, split between time traveling the world as a DJ. On the production front, he's spent a handful of years developing his sound as a busy remixer - most recognized for frequent remixes for DFA Records. It's only until now that his own original work is beginning to surface - starting off with his debut 12'' on Internasjonal.

With Necessary Ruffness DJ Nature presents some of his finest works recorded as 'Nature Boy' during the early 90's. Real, Whatchusay and Philly Bound come in the original versions. But for this re-issue we chose to go for a previously unreleased version of Euro Disney. With its slightly different break and tighter sound, this version is a bit more powerful. All tracks are remastered from original '92 session tapes. Big Tip!

Heist is first and foremost a label dedicated to quality house music with an eccentric angle. Promoting great music from the Netherlands comes as a close second. After presenting a lot of notable artists from our country, it’s great to showcase another young Dutch talent with our latest release: Perdu.
You might know him from his solo debut on Let’s Play House or the follow up on Optimo Music last year. Perdu’s music gets played by the big ones in the game like Hunee, Optimo and Palms Trax to name a few; and obviously, by us. We’re proud to introduce you to his “Skye EP”. His new release includes 3 varied originals and a rave anthem made by none other than our fun loving Ozzie friend DJ Boring.
The A side kicks off with “Jane’s World” and is the track that made us fall in love with this EP when we heard the demo. It’s a worldly tinged house monster, filled with harmonized drum rolls, a counting Frenchman and a funky arpeggio for good measure.
“Sacramento” takes a more introverted approach, leaning on a broken beat and atmospheric pads. The consistency of the kalimba with the vocal gives it a certain swing that got our ears longing for more.

The B-side starts with “Morbid”, a life-affirming electronic anthem, where Perdu shows his mastery of creating a proper build up. Over the whole course of the track, there’s a lead that slowly but surely opens its filter. There’s bells, harps, hand percussion and rides that all build up towards a lovely climax towards the end, while the track never feels like it’s forcing itself upon you.
Where the 3 originals are all, to some extent, quite introverted and modest, DJ Boring’s remix is anything but that. His version of “Jane’s World” is all about ravey leads, powerful percussion and huge breakdowns, which will do wonders at any festival or club closing set.
We hope to pleasantly surprise some of you, and as always, make a musical impact on your moment in the club, at home, or wherever it is you enjoy the music of our new Heist release.

"Samedi Soir" is full of funky tropical percussion and basslines, dramatic disco strings, cosmic synthesizers and infectious piano with seductive male and female vocals sung in French over a very catchy wha-wha and P&P disco funk popping rhythm. "Sexy Banana' is a superb crazy euro disco groovy track with rhythms in a jungle groove and funky percussion breaks; vocals also sung in French.

On the B, Hauke drags us far out into an enchanting chord progression, as the seductive 4G demonstrates filigree elegance to an almost fragile degree - bewitching we say.

We've got some good news for those hip shakin', booty breakin' lovers of bumpy house music: Fouk are back on Heist. Their new Truffles EP is packed with swinging goodness and comes with a jazzy Hugo LX remix. After a busy period last year, Fouk have taken the time to experiment in their studio, focusing on expanding their sound and releasing only a handful of tunes. Their 'Mating Call' EP on their own label Outplay saw them explore the deeper side of things, while remixes for artists like Joey Negro on his own Z Records alongside Ron Trent saw them show off their production skills with a superb hi tech funk track. Nearly 2 years after their 'With Lasers' EP, we now give you the 'Truffles' EP. The A-side kicks off with the title track and instantly shows you a new side of Fouk. 'Truffles' is their take on what ravey piano house should sound like and it's funky as hell. Meanwhile, 'I'll be down' is about as Fouk as you can get. With their ever so sexy percussion, a moody vocal and synthy sprinkles all around, you hear so much of what makes their music so energetic and inspiring. On the flip, 'Need my Space' sounds like something you'd hear if Pépé Bradock and Charles Webster would get together in the studio: dreamy synth lines, lovely textures and weird electronics over an ever so sexy bassline. The remix on this EP comes from Parisian artist Hugo LX, whose love for soulful electronic music and jazz are perfectly presented in his remix of 'I'll be down'. His version is filled with shimmering leads, synth hits and some lovely horns for good measure. For us, this is a case of jazzy deep house at its best. Dancing has been an intrinsic element of cultural development in every society on Earth, and has existed in multitudinous forms since time immemorial. For many, it is a pure expression of joy, a release of inhibition and a communal act of passion and celebration. For others however, it can induce self-consciousness and social anxiety which, combined with peer pressure or societal expectations, can lead to distress. Fortunately, there is a solution to this predicament, thanks to the tireless efforts of a Copenhagen based Groove expert in the early 90's. After extensive studies of dance styles throughout history, Rune Weise Kofoed was able to isolate a dance move which was not only as culturally universal as laughter, but also induced no adverse effects in even the most severe cases of dancer's anxiety. He called this move "Dorsi Plantar", and it instantly became so popular that it was commonly performed by those who had never heard of it. Its versatility was so great that it was appropriate for every genre of music, and its execution so straightforward and intuitive that it could be achieved by dancers of all ages and skill levels. For all these reasons and more, Dorsi Plantar is now the single most common dance move anywhere in the world, and is generally recognised as being "Perfectly Normal Behavior." Following the success of this dance revolution, Rune has gone on to create a musical movement of the same name. Like the dance move, this music has been developed through an exhaustive search of historical material, which had been carefully recorded onto vinyl for posterity. These records were collected and combined under the name Dorsi Plantar to create a new rhythmic creation with the same universal appeal and ease of enjoyment which made his infamous move such a huge success. Now, for the first time, Kyoku Records have been given the opportunity to present Dorsi Plantar's phenomenal creations as a collectible vinyl pressing, featuring an exclusive remix by Paxton Fettel. Simply place Dorsi Plantar's "Perfectly Normal Behavior" EP in an appropriate player and we guarantee that you will perform his signature move entirely by instinct.

Singer, songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist, Desmond Coke's supremely rare, privately pressed, lo-fi, synth-soul fusion, Let's Chase The Sun is represented here in edited form. Painstakingly remastered from the original tapes, this self taught pianist, drummer and sax player condensed his musical experiences and dreams in to an opus on love and togetherness.

Desmond Coke alias 'Fatfingers' - named by fellow musicians due to improvisation and interpretation skills - began playing keyboards by ear at 15 and went on to a music career playing with the likes of Alton Ellis, Prince Fari, Barrington Levy, Dillinger, Don Cherry and Shara Nelson, as well as a gamut of the On-U Sound label's projects, including Creation Rebel, Dub Syndicate, Singers & Players and Mark Stewart + Maffia.

With an interest in reggae, dub, jazz, soul, meringue, gospel and garage, his sole album was a true fusion to create a brand new sound. Composed, arranged and produced by Coke, he worked with an array of seasoned musicians, including his own sisters Winifred (percussion / vocals) and Paulette Coke (percussion / DX-7 & M1 synthesisers).

Pressed on his own Saterlite Entertainments in 1989, Coke describes the album's purpose, "to get the message across to have focus, ambition, to dream and 'chase the sun'. That relationships are important, 'I need somebody' and naturally the chemistry is 'you and me'. Great relationships are about friendships and that it's ok to 'mesmerise a friend'. The most natural thing is to enjoy each other's company and to 'make a love child'. These good intentions and meanings, where love is the key." Some thirty years later Desmond's thoughts are as resonant today as then - Let's Chase The Sun.

Produced by the great Nick Martinelli together with Terri Jeffries, the first release of Dance Lover, back in 1985, immediately resulted in a local release on the Dutch Rams Horn label. Leading US Music-magazine “Billboard” wrote, back in ‘85 regarding Dance Lover: “An easy D-Train style combination of soul and electronics, with a good duet interplay and a well-structured dub”. Now made available again by Dutch High Fashion Music, manufactured from the original mastertapes and including re-edits by Joey Negro and Faze Action.

There are records you want and records you NEED. Here is one containing 2 massive re-edits from the master himself Danny Krivit. Side A sees him tease the massive Let Me Down Easy (known as the main riff for David Moraled Needin You) to over 8 minutes of uptempo disco bliss. On the B side, things get a little spicier as he pumps the Fatback Band percussive "Spanish Hustle" to a peak time monster. First time for both tracks on 12" - very limited edition from the people who delivered the HOMEHIT 7” series.

Wewantsounds is delighted to announce the first-ever official vinyl reissue of ZiadRahbani's mythical Lebanese Disco 12" "Abu Ali" originally issued in Lebanon in 1978 on his label Zida Records. A highly collectible album, it will get reissued by Wewantsounds with its original artwork, remastered by Colorsound Studio in Paris. ZiadRahbani is a cultural icon in Lebanon. The musician, pianist and producer is also a renowned playwright and a political activist, one of the most important exponents of the lebanese left-wing counterculture to emerge from the 70s. Coming out of an illustrious artistic dynasty (his father is the famous composer and musician AssiRahbani, member of group The Rahbani Brothers and his mother is the legendary Middle East Diva, Fairuz), ZiadRahbani started his music career during his late teens, composing music for his mother. Rahbani quickly spread his wings further. He started producing his own music co-founding the labelZida in 1978 at age 22 in the processs and started releasing records under his own name. Among these was "Abu Ali" recorded in Greece at the EMIStudios in Athens with a full orchestra (there he also recorded his mother's album "Wahdon") and released it as a limited run EP for the lebanese market. Legend has it that the album was only pressed at 500 unit hence itsrarity The result is a fabulous New York-meets-Beyrouth Disco.

Furious Frank returns to Butter Sessions with 'Ahora Sí'. The fully fledged house anthem is the result of a cross-continental collaboration with Barcelona based vocalist and producer Ivy Barkakati.

We're treated to four versions of 'Ahora Sí', all tested and ready for the dance floor and those special moments! Kicking it off, Frank delivers his "Original Acid Mix". A deep, squelchy lurker with nods to late 80's and 90's house music, peaking with thick piano chords and Barkakati's deep Spanish vocals. On the 'Sunrise' mix, the piano and chords become the focus and set the mood for an uplifting journey, bolstered by the raw thump and jack of the drum machines.

The flip side see's Barcelona based "IVAN" emerge with their version. The duo made up of Ivy Barkakati and Phran of Klasse Wrecks fame slow things down a touch, mangle the chords and inject the rhythm with flattering top-drawer percussion. Vancouver native D. Tiffany rounds the EP off with sub-heavy bass drops, hi-tek rhythms, euphoric vocal slithers and more stingin' acidic vibes.

Starting things off, the new group from Australia Digital Afrika's "Babalu Ayé" been lighting up the dancefloors all Spring while Kiko Navarro & Nickodemus take it deep with M'bira melodies & traditional vocals on "Cacao Ceremony". Bridging the Italian house tradition with a touch of modern funk, Davide Santandrea, better known as Rame, and the brothers Riccardo and Francesco Cardelli, are making a name for themselves nowadays under the Capofortuna moniker.

Mixing different experiences and backgrounds, Capofortuna channels the Italo-disco / Italian house tradition driving it towards a contemporary musical horizon made up of relentless, warm and seductive grooves performed live with instruments and analog hardware. "timeless interstellar funk, without gravity, without compromise”, this is the essence of their sound.

Capofortuna debuts on Cognitiva Records with the ‘Rising Grace EP’ that includes Three original plus a remix by Leo Mas & Fabrice. First track on A side, Just Chilling, refers to the “Chicago’s old school house”, Roland TR707 for the rhythm part, massive bass, electric piano solos merge with pads and ethereal chords, a journey!

Bouncing for the love of bouncing is a huge slice of funk fueled Italo. Sporting to monster bassline some great synths and superb leads. On the B side we find Rising Grace, the track that gives the title to the EP, overwhelming kick and bass, hypnotic afro percussions, close your eyes and you'll find yourself floating in a jungle.

The remix of Rising Grace by Leo Mas & Fabrice complete the EP. The original version is reworked giving a magical "Italo House touch” typical of their 90s productions. This is a track which it is impossible to sit still too.

Absolute killer official reissue from the legendary and sort after album "In Need Of..." Breathtaking vocal, emotionally rich and a melody to seduce any dancefloor. I adore this record with all of my heart.

Cinthie joins the roster of Aus Music this November with her 'Trust' EP, comprising three original cuts from the Berlin artist. Founder of several imprints, namely Beste Modus, we_r_house and 803 Crystalgrooves, as well as her own label collective and record store brand Elevate, native Berliner Cinthie has become a highly respected figure in electronic music in her hometown and across the globe over the past few years. Most notably known for her long standing as a DJ primarily, yet recent months have seen Cinthie build her own studio and dedicate much of her time to carefully crafting the music she's always longed to. This new EP for Will Saul's Aus Music is a product of this time spent and marks the next phase for Cinthie's productions. Title-track 'Trust' leads on the package, fuelled by an infectious marimba style percussive melody, bright tension building strings and a bumpy bass hook whilst crunchy drums and a spellbinding arpeggio leads further fuels the emotive, subtly blooming feel. 'Lost At Sea' follows next, employing a loosely flowing organic drum groove, jazzy Rhodes chords and resonant moog style synth licks to create yet another classy twist on contemporary house music. 'Hip Swing' then rounds out the package on a deeper tip with heavily swung, up-tempo drums at the forefront whilst murky bass reverberations, choppy stabs and ethereal pads subtly ebb and flow in the depths.

Like a bolt from the blue comes this track by Daughters & Sons. An afternoon of fun in the studio with Stefano Giordani and his nylon guitar has needed, to give life to this little masterpiece, perhaps a secret weapon for the summer of 2014. A solar track, enjoyable and danceable, which is already a modern classic.

Returning to a brief but very fruitful period in electronic music production, Shelved Recordings exists to look back to the golden age of the remix, with a clear view of the future it imagined.

Artists who were steered towards maverick producers, with a view to changing the rules, to re-defining the terms of what modern music should and could be.
Pioneering techniques, over-dubs and an exploratory period of pop production, resulted in many lost dub versions and mixes. Mixes, which invariably were left on the shelf, deemed too 'out there' by the bosses of the the hedonistic label managers who commissioned them.

The title says it all about the latest release on Budabeats Records:
The Southern Hemisphere EP features 4 tracks inspired by the immensely rich and diverse musical tradition that South America and Africa offers.

Beginning with a slick edit of Letta Mbulu's now classic tune 'Nomalizo', London based producer Petko Turned respectfully reconstructed the track, focusing on the elements that work best on the dancefloor.
In 'Pontos das Caboclas', BeTe (a.k.a. Suhov) created a laid back yet driving atmosphere, using the main patterns and the beautiful vocals of the original song as written by Camila Costa.
In his remix, Chillum Trio added his trademark sound to the Ebo Taylor classic 'Odofo Nyi Akyiri Biara', the result is a slow burning, bass heavy house number taking the original to a completely new level.

Closing the EP is the Birdhouse collective's original composition, 'Berimbao', a catchy contemporary cumbia tune that any combo in Bogota could be proud of.

All titles have been licensed carefully, it makes us beyond proud to be able to say that the Southern Hemisphere EP has the full support of the original artists.

Regularfantasy and Void Mirror met up at the Dance Music Workshop in beautiful Victoria, B.C. during the dog days of summer to track down the house. The music here represents some of the results: melted italo, evergreen synths, and shining energy.

EDIT & DUB #10 share a private stash of disco boogie & garage jams. DR. SUPERMAN's 1979 rap track "CAN YOU DUB IT" in an instrumental form is a welcome find, along with the super rare & sought after cuts "TIED UP IN LOVE" by IYICJKO and LEE ALFRED's "ROCKIN-POPPIN FULL TILTING"

Massive Birth bounces on slapped bass, Mod Jazz organ grind, and tumbling percussion. Wielding guitars that cut a Psyche edge. Mind Fair`s remix tames and tinkers with the hand-drums, and focuses on that b-line. Emphasizing its Post-Punk-Funk groove. Sky Dump is Afro Cosmic Prog Rock (think Alan Parsons or Skyy) pushed through Italo machines.

Talorypo pits 80s Pop marimba against a buzzing bionic bass-line. The resulting bubbling, fidgeting Electric Ethno fusion is given a more Industrial bashing by The Warehouse Preservation Society. Step-by-step, hitting a Bobby Orlando / Morroder-on-Mogadon chug.

A Woozy, Pulsing Jam, Equal Parts Of Nervous Energy And Stoned Groove - 'shrubs' Immediately Received A Cosign From Paris' Les Yeux Orange And Made Its Way Into A Highly Respectable Group Of Djs Sets. Andrew Weatherall Has Since Taken Things A Big Step Further And Reworked 'shrubs' Into A Sprawling 8 Minute Journey Of His Own, Backed By Live Drums And Deep Sub-bass While Donald Dust's 'other Thumper' Ups The Energy With Playful Nyc Post-disco Style And Psychedelic Percussion.
