On a newly arisen Amsterdam – Berlin axis, Daniel Monaco and Sauvage World unite for their first collaboration EP on San Francisco based Roam Recordings.

“Paninari On Acid” is a twisted tribute to the first golden age of Italian electronic music. Israeli talent Niv Ast turns the trip into a dance floor bomb, leaving no choice but to move with its chubby bass and synthetic lead lines.

“Teneré” was not only one of Milan’s paninari favourite motorbikes but – most importantly – means “desert” in the Touareg language. This is where Monaco and Sauvage World are taking you for a lysergic adventure filled with sand through a solitary land.

Fabrizio Mammarella brings it back to the age of the machines and delivers an hypnotizing electro version, brilliantly mixing the Arabic tinged nuance of the original with unstoppable killer rhythms and robotic vocals.

Acid fans may well be aware of DJ Arg (also known as Faceless Junkies Deluxe) and know that the man is a machine, literally churning out hundreds of the nastiest and most purist 303 based Techno and House tracks and uploading them with alarming regularity to his soundcloud pages .

Super Rhythm Trax is proud to present to you his first vinyl release, it was really hard to decide on just four tracks, but these ones were jumping out for a release. Sick and twisted 303 abuse for lovers of the silver box.

Amrint Keen is the new alias of Lake People, reserved for his dance music productions with a rather Electro feel to it. And he has something to tell... It's a welcome return on Uncanny Valley after the release of "Break The Pattern" last year. "Believe" has so much punch that the glasses in the club run the risk of falling off the bar. However, it still manages to create a feeling of yearning. At "Dancing in the Parking Lot" we welcome Uncle Acid on the dance floor or in front of the petrol station, just to be carried away by warm synth cascades a short time later. Finally, "Natural Homeostasis" creates a symbiosis of stomping bleepy British techno and a great day with your blankie.

Assemble Music welcomes back Activ-Analog with a solo ep from Paul D, the collective’s founder. Paul delivers 4 analog techno tracks in a perfect balance between acid, jazz and the machines.

Completing a red hot trio of remix EPs of Calm’s By Your Side album is this final part with Lucas Croon, Cantoma and Gallo and Yuri Shulgin all serving up expansive and mind altering new versions.

He doesn’t release often but when he does you need to listen to Lucas Croon. His unique take on ‘Before Landing’ is a proper dance floor heater to get you on your toes. Once you're there, a gentle rush of rave euphoria tases over you and sends shivers down your spine as old school breakbeats and glowing pads complete the trip.

Elsewhere, long time Balearic pin up, scene hero and all round blissed out boss man Phil Mison has a new album corn gin the spring. Before that, he becomes Cantoma for a timeless version of ‘You Can See The Sunrise Again’ that has bright blue skies and jaunty chords making you move.

Regular label artist homie Gallo is in the form of his life right now - he's resident DJ at Hell Yeah's weekly Balearic night Buena Onda in Berlin, has a growing reputation for being one of the best eclectic selectors in the game and is currently working on compiling the forthcoming BUENA ONDA comp with label head Marco. He gets long legged on his deep cut remix of ‘Sky Color Passing’ which is another killer that slowly but surely works you in a slow motion acid trance.

Completing this most exquisite outing is Yuri Shulgin, a multi-instrumentalist music producer from Tajikistan with credits on Cocktail d'Amore Music. His spellbinding take on 'Ending of Summer, Beginning of Autumn' is a fusion of jazz, leftfield and electronica will have you in a spin and your head lost in the clouds amongst the twinkling stars and cosmic pads.

Already a well-established presence on the outlandish fringes of experimental, alternative and dance music, celebrated Israeli duo Red Axes make a surprise left-turn onto Phantasy with a three-track 12', 'Sipoor'. Unsurprisingly, the results are as pleasingly out-there as the occasion requires.

Following on from last year's self-released LP, 'The Beach Goths', 'Sipoor' immediately announces the Axes' uncompromising return to the front and centre of the dancefloor with the raw, provocative 'Bad Time Story'. Brazen, brash acid triggers this particular tale, as Red Axes briskly modulate their way through a ruff, tuff but never less than musical landscape of 303s and 808s.

'Sipoor' takes a more gradual approach to building offbeat rave tension, featuring an unknown male using his native tongue to request some kind of house, some kind of techno and some sort of release. His wish (and we hope, yours) is the Axes' command, as the music goes deep before seamlessly unfolds around a throbbing bassline and a playful, familiar keyboard sample, beckoning feet to the dancefloor and perhaps tongues ever so slightly to cheeks.

Concluding the 12', 'Teroof' takes each of Red Axes' signature ingredients - deeply rhythmic EBM-inspired drums, spiralling electronics, unapologetically odd vocal distortions - and reconstructs them amid what sounds like the Monaco Grand Prix, as high-velocity motors speed past the soundscape, kicking up some serious dust. The time has come for us to present you with what is probably our most anticipated record to date. Bearing the catalogue number DT004, Casiopepe EP was originally set for release in the Summer of 2020, but got swept away by the pandemic whirlwind of production issues and broken dreams. We couldn't simply let this one slide into ob-livion, however, and so finally here it is, every sound teeming with hope and joy. Casi-opepe is the lovechild of two experienced producers and good friends working between Warsaw and Berlin. Together, they create addictive, masterful and un-mistakably Euro-leaning dance tunes, as is evidenced on their eponymous release, where echoes of trance, acid, and continental disco are moulded together - with a touch of nostalgia, but with a decidedly modern execution. Big snares and big break-downs that melt hearts and spark real jubilation - what more could you want from a dance music record? The cover art - an exemplary exercise in typography - is the work of Artur Ole? (aka Chino). Fall in love to the sounds of Dom Trojga.

New label, Subterranean Odyssey kick things off with a bang with their 1st release. 3 huge tracks from the rising Slovenian producer Eliaz which perfectly sum up both the label's vision and the artist's style.
Eliaz' energy instantly manifests itself upon listening to this record. The A side is a powerful 9 minute journey followed by two equally strong club-ready tracks. B2 is cut directly from Eliaz' live act from summer 2019.

Another X-Kalay OG returns to the label this summer and we couldn’t be happier :) It’s not a huge overstatement to say that Lucas’ first record on X-Kalay, “Ataraxia”, was somewhat of a milestone in the development of both artist and label, and it has been a huge pleasure to see him go from strength to strength since its release just over two years ago. These days it’s fair to say that Lucas is one of the most exciting young artists in the game - with a finely crafted knack for electro, and the 303 in particular, pretty much second to none. We’re super proud to welcome him back with his next effort -“Lifeforms”.

The emotive opener is “Amongst us in Harmony” - steadily building through deep pads and bouncing arps, the now trademark Lou Karsh acid bassline ever present. Coming in over 8 minutes, it’s a truly galactic track. “Internally Vexed”is a more stripped back affair. The breaksy groove is underpinned by the snappiest of snares and shrouded in celestial pads, the masterful use of the 303 demonstrating one of the sharpest and slickest basslines you’re likely to hear this year >:0

On the flip, “Alien With a Subwoofer (Skyline Mix)” is pacey club material built around deep wobs, a seriously wiggly 303, and carefully constructed pads building subtle tension. The sound of aliens redlining straight through your hood. Rounding things off, title track “Lifeforms” is beautifully crafted deep electronica; full of emotion and lush pads, otherworldly atmospherics and yearning synths.

This is a special record, and some of Lucas’ best work without a doubt. Don’t sleep!

Dora Exp is a new label exploring the intersections between gritty MPC drums, opalescent synths, outer space soul and acid grooves, managed by dj and producer Andrea Passenger.

‘Hi Power’ is an intense gospel-infused stomper, delivered both in ‘regular’ and acid versions. Is it House? Disco? Undoubtedly it’s unique and challenging. “Begin’n” moves in faster techno-ish territory, while B.Monk rounds the edges with its smooth midtempo boogie tones.

After his electronic works for Icon Of Desire, Ai Records, Electronique.it, Tabernacle, and his groove-oriented edits for Light Touches and Rain&Shine, Andrea Passenger is back again with something quite diverse and outstanding.

Lysergic DIY acid house from Estonia, ca. 1995/1996. Cheap machines, romantic literary inspirations (the record is actually inspired by Saint-Exupéry), not a lot of air in the room but enough to keep on dreaming. Loud pressing for serious brain melting. For fans of Irdial, Stroom, rubber hammers and queens that are simply lost in fog or drowned in dust.

Truly a renaissance man, Halonen studies painting during the day and crafts uplifting yet surprising house tracks during the night. The tropical summer hit “Mattolaituri” is complemented with a left-leaning track “Tulva”; also remixed by DJ Fiskars (let’s call it art school acid house).

NYC producer Max In The World returns on his Bliss Point label with The Living Dub, four cuts of breaky, dubbed out house for the club in your head and your future. France’s Sentiments (Light On Earth, Groovedge) joins for a sub-heavy remix with some of the most undeniable acid of the year. Tip!

Idiosyncratic producer DMX Krew offers up four playful acid-tinged tracks for the Malekko Phase Mod EP, released through eclectic Spanish label/club night/promotion agency, Fanzine Records. The vinyl-only release is the first output of 2019 for the Coruna based imprint currently celebrating their 10th anniversary and is the follow up to C44's bizarro-techno Res Publica Populi Romani EP, and Dijuma's dubby and atmospheric Cold Tracks EP.

For DMX Krew's first Fanzine release the eccentric producer adopts a much lighter and brighter sound, in line with his recent records on Hypercolour and his classic output on Aphex Twin's Rephlex Records. The EP also comes hot on the heels of the prolific producer's latest album, Glad To Be Sad - twelve wavey cuts of vigorous electronic funk released in March through Hypercolour.

Kicking off the A-side with "Maleko Phase Mod", DMX Krew immediately conjures an effortlessly enjoyable mood. From the opening bars, a bouncing synth line is met with a classic acid house beat - prominently featuring the requisite skipping snares, rustic rimshots and phasing percussion that gives this track its distinctly Chicago feel. Meanwhile, shimmering chords fill the track with sunny warmth and enthusiastic energy.

Next up, "Smoke Stack" matches a groovy acid bassline with vintage drums, clusters of claps and a mischievous marimba-esque lead. Don't let the whimsy fool you, however, DMX Krew is a master craftsman at sequencing intricate synth lines and programming complex drum patterns.

On the flip, "Low Star" imbues DMX Krew's familiar elements bubbling bass, sparkling synths, and a pumping groove with a twisted 80s lo-fi essence. Crunchy claps, distorted hats, and tumbling toms keep the track bouncing at a frenetic pace, while a glossy lead contrasts with solemn pads to create a mood at once exuberant and earnest.

Closing track "Suspicion Ruff Mix" once again finds the producer riding a classic jacking 80s house beat, filling any gaps in the groove with crashing cymbals, rolling snares, and cascading claps. With his squelchy bass, vibrant lead, and oddball melody, DMX Krew concludes the Malekko Phase Mod EP with a sense of effervescent joy undeniably his own.

House and techno mainstay Loco Dice is stepping out with En Couleur, a brand new label reserved exclusively for his own music.

The first offering opens with 'Don't Run,' a twisted piece of afterparty techno. Weird fx and alien sound designs squirm in and out of a firmly rooted, rolling groove and pressurised hi hats add to the tension as the kicks grow ever more powerful. 'Nasty Train' explores high quality stripped back house grooves that ooze a certain sense of funk. The timeless hi hats are straight from Chicago while the crisp boom-bap drums, frazzled pads and muffled voices all add details that keep you locked until things grow more wild and unhinged at the mid point. Last of all, 'Ya Free Just Move' is a manic and pulsating acid workout that will leave the club in a frenzy.

Politics Of Dancing Records is back with a new P.O.D Edit sets for peak time dancefloors.

With his melodies, new and successful fusions between different musical styles, and the flawless and classy productions of his records, has earned Ludovic Navarre being copied but rarely equalled. St Germain is a true reference, and his influence has been pivotal for the French scene.

Today, beloved DJ, producer and songwriter Lauren Flax announces her forthcoming EP, Out Of Reality out August 6 via 2MR. Much of Out Of Reality’s cohesion comes from Flax’s expansive production, using simple elements to craft intricate backdrops for the questions posed by her songs. On the EP’s titular track, Alejandra Deheza (School of Seven Bells)’s crystalline vocals are woven against a delicate tapestry of arpeggiated keys, sparse percussion and haunting cello. Detachment isn’t always detrimental; sometimes you have to step outside to get a better view. Lauren Flax knows this - as a DJ, producer and songwriter, her discography is notoriously genre-defiant, consisting of an impressive array of solo tracks, collaborations, and remixes. The most recent of these – her mesmerizing take on Pale Blue’s “Breathe” - saw her experimenting with a new style of writing. “I wanted to explore that sound more,” Flax explains, “more of a synth exploration, textures with less beats.” The pared-down songwriting approach lent itself to thematic considerations as well: she’d been thinking about the repetitive nature of the life cycle - the Indian concept of Samsara - and felt a general disappointment at humanity’s lack of progress. On her new EP Out Of Reality, she washes that disappointment in lush sonic hues, stepping outside the quotidien for a new perspective.

Though its themes span beyond the scope of our current socio-political moment, Out Of Reality feels, right now, like an especially tantalizing proposition. Pandemic-driven escapism has bred a new crop of otherworldly music designed to transport the listener somewhere better. But Flax isn’t interested in escapism for its own sake - there’s still work to be done here on Earth, after all. Instead, through a combination of live instrumentation and ethereal synths, Out Of Reality grants us a respite from the real so we can return to it with a clear head.

Fourth and definitely last EP from the enigmatic Donna T. Serious old school vibes as usual, from stomping peaktime acid techno to Khmer house classics and emotional sunset proto-trance. 909s, 303s, breakbeats and all the other things you can't live without. This is the perfect soundtrack both for dancing like it's 1995 and for crying because it's not and never will be again. Thanks and goodbye from Donna T, it's been good times!

AGT Records is back, just in time for Spring. Legend has it that the mysterious Hansel J. Tripwire was locked away at the abandoned Riverview Mental Hospital with nothing but a typewriter, a calculator and a Commodore 64 computer for company. ‘Sounds from the Sanitarium’ is the soundtrack to the party he had.

On the A, an urgent bassline propels the track forwards, balanced by glitchey samples that shoot around crisp percussion. The B is the funkier of the two, with a similarly chunky bassline providing the backdrop for shuffling high-hats and robotic synths to spiral above.

The EP is both menacing and playful, and is sure to cause some seriously wiggy peak-time and after-hours moments. AGT Records is rescuing this weapon from the vaults, all in good time.

When Steve Lawler first sent us 'Crazy Dream,' he told us that he had made the record 'specifically with Turbo in mind,' thus sending us on a quasi-lucid journey down a rabbit hole of self-discovery from which we have only recently emerged. Most labels would simply talk up a nuts-to-the-wall floor-filler with a killer 'White Horse' bassline from an acid house legend and be done with it, but the fact remains that if we forgo an opportunity to learn more about ourselves as dance music imprint, we are doing our fans a disservice whether they could possibly be expected to realize it or not. We hired a board-licensed Forensic Poet to parse the track's lyrical references to nothing being 'quite as it seems,' 'feeling naked and confused,' and rising above 'the push and shove.' What was he trying to tell us The poet assured us that all it meant was that Lawler admires Turbo and thought the track would be a good fit, and that we should put our clothes back on, wipe the confused looks from our faces, and stop pushing and shoving one another because everything was exactly as it seemed. We paid him his $25 and did as we were told. For the remixes, we took a track made especially for us and enlisted a diverse cast of Turbo All-Stars to spin it into a release for everyone, a proprietary practice we call 'Human Alchemy: The Future of Generosity™.' Finland's Jori Hulkkonen, Belgium's Charlotte de Witte, and Argentina's DJs Pareja trace a beautiful global triangle for lovers of acid bangers, stripped-down techno, and tripped-out weirdness, respectively. At Turbo, giving party people what they need is more than just a crazy dream. It's a crazy reality.

UK duo Local Group (aka Corporeal Face and LMajor) follow up their sold out ‘Laser Done’ EP and appearance on ‘Secret Rave 4’ with a ‘Fresh Rhythms’ EP that may contain tracks up to three years old.

After last summer’s appearance at Field Maneuvers, the Oxford festival they’re residents at, one punter requested ‘Local Group for 36 hours straight’ in 2020. Negotiations are on-going. In the meantime, this four-tracker provides almost 25 minutes of their ‘Field Maneuvers famous’ sound.

‘Baby Talk’ self-identifies as a ‘Hardcore Summer Anthem’. It’s got uplifting piano and a glissando, the classic switch up between light and dark, and a spine-tingling vocal that fitted like a silk glove. Why wear a silk glove in the studio? It helps EQ your snares, bro. ‘Fresh Rhythm’ is ‘avin’ it 150BPM hardcore acid breaks with a brief but cheeky donk mid- section. It’s the title track but is on A2. A mystery deeper than the cover of The Beatles ‘Abbey Road’ album. ‘Stolen Dreams’ continues the acid, but in breakbeat house form – in reverence to 1992’s ‘XL- Recordings: The Third Chapter - Breakbeat House’ compilation. Samples various favourite tracks about dreams, hence the title. Follow your dreams. They may be cheating on you. ‘Back In The Daze’ is late 90s D &;B, a formative era for Local Group, channeled into 130 amen breaks and topped with the sort of soulful vocal loved by all-time hero Manix.
