Since the slew of EPs that had us and more raving about the UK Funky producer in 2008, Roska has gone from strength to strength, touring America, and releasing his debut album, Roska on Rinse FM's label. Now he releases an EP by fellow upstart DJ Naughty on his Roska Kicks & Snares label. DJ Naughty is the fresh young sensation hailing from North London, England. He is very popular with in the UK music industry and it is said that he is responsible for introducing Funky House to a much wider and younger audience. In 2007 DJ Naughty became one of the must have DJs for any big event and regularly featured at Garage Nation, Climax and Garage Fever. He is also a resident for Female Skanker and spent the summer of 2007 in Ayia Napa 'Tearing down the island' as a raver so nicely put it.

Croatian's finest purveyor of disco and boogie returns with a delish four track EP on Yam Who's ISM imprint. The four tracks have all the delicious trappings of Rudman; dramatic strings, ample helpings of cowbell and vintage synth stabs. The A-Side consists of the sleazy squelch of "Crazy With You" in both original and remixed by Yam Who form, with the latter, more uptempo version just shading it. The flipside consists of the sultry boogie bap of "Let This Dream Be Real", with the original bringing to mind a glacially paced version of Rockers Revenge classic "Walking on Sunshine", while the Disco Dirtbox tweak bumps and grinds in all the right places - totally primed for club play!

There's no doubt in anyone's mind that 2011 has been an incredible year for Mr. Julio Bashmore. A string of stellar EPs on an array of prolific labels have led to this beautifully filmic piece of house music that closes an equally compelling year for Futureboogie Recordings. The single features a range of styles and tempos from the wonky down-tempo funk of the original to the hugely relevant, big basslined remix from Mr Scruff, via a pair of heavy house mixes from Moodymanc himself.

Dean Meredith's The Rhythm Odyssey returns for his next single for Lipservice; this time he gets together with label mates Ben and vocalist James from The Main Stem to produce a tasty slice of classic, haunting house music with "Devils Tease.

Italy's ultra hot Luigi Rocca remixes Z Factor's mid 90s remake of the Musique classic "Keep on Jumpin'". A sure fire crowd pleaser for the summer season and beyond.

Buzz Compass is back for his second stint on No More Hits, following support from the likes of Jacques Renault for his NMH012 release. Pure house grooves on this one.

Glass tear groove is the new concept release from drum machine rookie, Inkswel. A follow up to the random yet bubbling 'Get to my party' release, this ep cohesively mashes together drum machine sounds and new wave funk tendencies. The title track featuring vocal funkster Zackey Force Funk (Baron Zen/Jellphonic/Mike Gao) brings forth a timeless love song vibe into Inkswel's popping and locking approach to song composition. Good times is Inkswel's ode to post disco and pre house sounds, fuzzy Yamaha synth stabs and watery chords. Backed with the bonus beat vibe of Who's fooling who, a stand alone banger for beat heads and party animals. Great-sounding reissue of this mega-rare Roy Ayers production from 1981. One of only two releases on highly collectable Goldmink Records, this 12' features two monstrously good boogie classics, both written and performed by Jaymz Bedford, who regularly worked with Roy Ayers including penning the legendary Sylvia Striplin track 'Give Me Your Love'. On the A -side we have 'Just Keep My Boogie', a cool groover with fantastic tight guitar work and sharp funky claps overlaid with Jaymz' smooth vocals all combining to make your 'wiggle waggle' (his words not ours!) On the flip is 'Happy Music', a great uplifting track whose super-crisp percussion, funky squelching basslines and catchy joyful vocal earned it heavy rotation on underground dancefloors across the States from NY's Paradise Garage to Chicago's Warehouse. A great chance to grab a copy of this ultra-rare boogie masterclass from the top-class production team of Ayers and Bedford.
