For his comeback release on Ukraine's Wicked Bass label, the gloomy producer hiding behind the alias Raw M.T. presents another set of trippy, yet noticeably simplified masterpieces of 90's E-werk informed analog techno. 'Falling Into Nowhere' with its melancholic xylo drops and Twin Peaks infused pads takes us to a setting of descending sadness, while random peak leads and swinging hats on 'Abductions' and 'Essense', in contrast, contribute to a much more dancefloor-friendly and optimistic picture. Three fine cuts that will work both at peak and afterparty time.

Chicago Underground Duo has been part of a new generation of music improvisers that emerged in Chicago in the 1990's. Made up of cornetist Rob Mazurek (Exploding Star Orchestra, Isotope 217) and drummer Chad Taylor (Marc Ribot, Iron and Wine), Boca Negra is the duo's fifth release originally released in 2010. Sold out on vinyl since that time this limited edition vinyl re-issue is available for Record Store Day 2016. As with the previous four Duo records it contains both composed and improvised music. The recording contains powerful grooves along with ambient sound structures, folk song simplicity and polyrhythmic bursts of energy with lyrical melodic vignettes. It also combines high energy music with slow moving ballads. Boca Negra was recorded in Sao Paulo, Brazil at Rocha Studios making it the first record not created in Chicago. It is also the first record that contains a 'cover', that being Ornette Coleman's 'Broken Shadows'.

The debut vinyl & digital release from the Dama Dama label comes from co-founder Pedestrian in the shape of "Circadian Rhythms" - a 4 track concept EP. Each track represents a different time of day throughout the 24 hour cycle, with the 12" divided into a "Day Side" and a "Night Side".
The day begins with "Simple Minded At Dawn", a sleepy, beat-less meditation constructed of heavily processed electric pianos and cellos, and then moves onto the hazy summer's afternoon cut of "Deep In Daylight". Flip it over and day turns into night where things start to get a little deeper and darker with "Torn Blue", a peak time dance floor number which steadily builds in intesity and crescendos into "JNT". A 4am 2-step roller, the EP's closing number is a collaboration with label co-founders Maribou State which works its way into a climax of looping African vocals, synths and strings before breaking into a blissful wind down where "Simple Minded At Dawn" starts fading back in, emphasising the cyclical nature of night turning into day and prompting the listener to flip it once again and repeat the process.

We dig deep into Trax's vaults to unearth some unreleased super rare versions of some Trax classics.

Vol. 1 contains two Ron Hardy Reel To Reel edit's of Jamie Principle & Frankie Knuckles classics "Bad Boy" and "Baby Wants To Ride". Very different to the final released versions these are personal edits Ron made to play at the Music Box, Chicago in the mid-late 80's.

Ever since the debut, 'Communication EP' which also marked our 50th release, Alexander Lay-Far has a special place in the Local Talk family.Since then things have been going well with plenty more releases, tours, the launch of his label In-Beat-Ween Music plus a new full length album done.
With so many things on the go we're of course very happy to welcome Lay-Far back and with him this time, two UK house legends that need little introduction, Ashley Beedle and Darren Morris. Together the trio produced an EP that embraces the charms of both disco and house and we think it hits on every level. The A-side is dedicated to 'Doctor Feelgood', which is just as the name suggests, a delicious disco house cut that will make you feel good.Extra bonus points for the wonky bassline.
On the flip, you'll find two versions of Slope. The first one is an easy / breezy number built around jazzy drums, warm chords to catch your breath for a minute or two, lovers of rhodes should lend the track an extra ear, it's pure bliss. After those 5 minutes and 14 seconds has ended Lay-Far steps into the remix arena, turns up the tempo and sends the track straight to the dance floor. No need to fiddle around too much, he just sprinkles some extra touches of Lay-Far magic to the original and voila, it's done.

DJ W!ld is pleased to announce a second instalment of remixes from his well received album When You Feel Me. After Jus Ed and Chris Carrier appeared on the first EP, now comes Classic aligned producer Miss Honey Dijon, Peacefrog regular Dan Curtain and the one and only Detroit talent that is Andrés, who serve up one remix each, with an original by DJ W!ld also being included.

That original is 'Love Every Day' and is another fine missive from the studio of French house king DJ W!ld. It is a fat, deep, rolling cut with pinging toms and kick drums, cool vocal samples and a laid-back jazzy vibe that will really bring people to the 'floor.

This same cut then gets remixed by Andrés, who used to DJ with Slum Village, runs his own label La Vida and is a regular producer alongside Moodymann aka Kenny Dixon Junior on his label KDJ. His remix here is a jazzy, hip hop influenced affair with raw hand claps, jazzy piano motifs and loveably louche and dusty groove.

The next remix comes from Chicago's Miss Honey Dijon, who regularly plays places like Panorama Bar and has remixed and produced for her good friend Derrick Carter's Classic label before now. Her version of 'Get Busy' is a slick, up tempo and acid riddled affair that will drive people wild on the dance floor. It is urgent and supple, seductive and has a beautiful breakdown that makes for a fine moment's pause before the acid and drums kick in earnest once more.

Finally, Holic Trax and Bass Culture man Dan Curtain has been doing his do since the 1990s and has contributed greatly to the development of techno in that time. His remix is a full on techno forcefield with manic melodies and thumping drums charging along, hypnotising you as they go.
Buy this EP digitally and you will be treated to two extra tracks, namely two great remixes of 'Come To Me' by huge Defected act Flashmob and left of centre tech house pair Italoboyz, who both turn out infectious grooves to round out this special release.

Curare' equals the infamous poison that is shot with deadly arrows. The shortest EP track dishes out a low slung, heavy beat, combining the drive and feel of techno, house and garage in their rawest forms. A trippy, venomous synth signal sound finishes off the victim that has become prey to the beat.

Embezzlement Society takes us back to the early days of 80s Hip-Hop with his 'Rough Quarters EP'. On his record the man from Belfast heavily relies on Funk-based drum loops as were popular in the glorious days of old school Hip-Hop. The results are two super casual tracks with a cool Hip-House attitude - just perfect for Hip-House lover Drei Farben House who took the chance to contribute a remix in his slick and smooth style, merging the raw drums with some tender Rhodes. Tenderpark regular Roman Rauch finishes off the EP and slows down the tempo in his remix concentrating on the originals of the samples and displaying his mastery with the MPC once more. As always all tracks have been mastered and cut by Helmut Erler at Dubplates & Mastering.

Dave Aju, Alland Byallo, Kenneth Scott and Marc Smith joined together as KAMM, resulting in a mini-album called Kick Drunk Love for marcel Vogel's Amsterdam based label Intimate Friends.iDescribed in a press release as being influenced by the artists' "love of early '90s MoWax era laid-back beats," it features Barrite on lead vocals (with Byallo and Scott also contributing vocals), Smith on guitar, Byallo on trumpet and Scott on Moog synth. There's a couple guest appearances as well: Damian Schwartz plays some bass on "Sidewalks" and Eureka provides "a hell of a (vacuum) rev" on "Stage Left."

Italian imprint Dabit Records is racking up the releases, this time enlisting the services of UK producers Hidden Spheres and HBN.

The EP opens up with 'Need Your Love' a piano cut which croons and filters its way through 7 mins of pure unadulterated house goodness.

Italian producers Die Roh are asked to work their analogue magic on the 'Need your Love' track. Upping the tempo and taking things back to the early 90s in one fell swoop. A raw, deep down and dirty interpretation of the original and a great addition to the EP.

'No House' by Hidden Spheres is a pitched down anthem of a track, big strings and delaying vocals make for an epic feel.

Finishing things off is the more tech tinged 'Control'. The Korg M1 organ bass is in full affect, nicely tied together with a chugging beat and yet another big vocal cut.

A great package with a track for every occasion.

For its premier release, Division Point Industries is proud to announce a 4-track EP by Rolling Ones, a collaborative project featuring Johannes Auvinen (Tin Man) and Jordan Poling (Jordan). Rolling Ones finds its voice in the synthesis of each artist's sound, combining Tin Man's acidic melodies with Jordan's deep, textural pads. Debuting at the Division Point Industries residency at Bushwick's notorious Bossa Nova Civic Club, Rolling Ones marked their arrival by playing a DJ back-to-back set. Opening the record is '93' Mustang', a muscular, no-nonsense roller built around deep wells of warm bass and slick-piston percussion. As it builds, Tin Man's signature acidic squelch dances in the remaining space, giving the track a sense of both life and depth. Next is 'Faded Delorian', an abyssal burner that refracts its ghostly tones around a panning labyrinth of crystalline synths. On the flip is 'Slammed Cadillac', a sinewy, stripped down stomper of clattering percussion and caustic 303s. 'Jacked Up Impala' finishes the record as a jacking acid tool. Founded by Jordan Poling, Division Point Industries is a new label built on the success of a collaborative residency with Cory James at Brooklyn's Bossa Nova Civic Club. Having hosted artists ranging from the established to the underground, Division Point Industries has crafted a no-nonsense take on deep house and techno that is rich in history while remaining focused on the future.

(IF ANY)Think Croydon and a few things come to mind; Kate Moss, punk band The Damned, Crystal Palace football club, Peep Show and of course Dubstep, the now world conquering music genre that will forever be linked to the south London suburb. What you never hear though, is any mention of Tech House, another world conquering music genre. And to be honest we're a little bit peeved about that. Because if Tech House has a spiritual home it's Croydon, and that is due mainly to Swag Records and the people that gravitated towards the humble West Croydon record shop and studio. Swag began in late 1992 and within a year it has positioned itself as the leading store to buy the strange new, stripped down, trippy, driving brand of house music being played at underground parties in and around south east London. On any given day you could walk in and find Terry Francis, Dave Mothersole, Grant Dell or Richard Grey serving behind the counter, Eddie Richards, Colin Dale or Mr C buying records and Matthew B, Gideon Jackson or Affie Yusuf at the helm in the studio upstairs. The building shook night and day with the throbbing, bass heavy grooves and the beat never stopped - or so it seemed. And now all these years later some of those records made in that little room at the top of the old Victorian building that housed the Swag headquarters are finally starting to get the recognition they deserve. Back when those tunes were cut, in the late 90's and early 00', pretty much the sole intention was to have something new and exciting to play at parties like Wiggle, Heart & Soul, Whoop Whoop and Kerfuffle.

Here Aubrey bravely bites the bullet and maintains the original high tempo but seriously twists the original resulting in stomping into stratosphere monster track creating his own communication system.
