When San Francisco's ICEE HOT launched its own record label last fall with a new record from Ghosts On Tape (one of the party's founders), there was a lot of talk about how quiet he's been in recent years. Now, a mere nine months later, that's all changed.
Following the release of "Nature's Law," Ghosts On Tape has been on an absolute tear, dropping numerous remixes and turning out new tunes at a blinding clip. At this point, he's built up a solid reserve of dancefloor weapons, and ICEE HOT is thrilled to begin unleashing it upon the world.
"No Guestlist" is the first salvo, and it's an absolute stormer. Combining the brash spirit of classic Chicago with Ghosts On Tape's drum-heavy sensibilities, the much sought-after tune has been lighting up ICEE HOT for months and is poised to do some major damage. The producer's own "Underground Mix" takes things deeper, albeit while keeping the sass of the original version intact.
Finnish producer Arttu has also been enlisted to remix "No Guestlist," and kicks off the b-side with a playful and light-hearted take that employs snapping drum patterns and gleefully lilting melodies. Rounding out the record is another Ghosts On Tape original, "Still Got the Feeling," a darker, slower burning cut that reflects just how effective he can be when experimenting with a more techno-flavored template.

I can't even afford bed linen, let alone a 909". The unpretentious of Jay Donaldson is disarming in many different ways.
We consider Donaldson aka Palms Trax to be one of the most promising new artists to date. His sound situates him firmly along the Chicago-Detroit axis, cooking up pad-driven jams, off kilter drums and hazy synths that shift like a gentle musical tide. In 2013 he inaugurated the Lobster Theremin label, the London-based imprint that quickly became one of the most talked about record labels around. When not travelling the world for prime-time gigs Donaldson holds a residency at the widely respected Berlin Community Radio. It's with great pleasure that we welcome golden boy Palms Trax to Dekmantel Records.

We Play The Music We Love is an Italian and Uk based party that after 7 years of activity has decided to start with its own vinyl only label. The first release comes from one of the founders and resident DJ of the collective: RILLS. He clearly stamping his mark on the label with two solid tracks to launch things with some claut. The two original tracks, one featuring Sinderesi, explore some dubby house territory with mesmerising chords that will be appreciated on any demanding dancefloor. The additional remix is from the producer of the moment: Samuel Andre Madsen a.k.a. S.A.M. (Oscillat, Delaphine, Mandar, Fathers and Sons).

This various-artists joint features four of today's hottest underground artists and promises to be the anthem of the summer.
With four strong dance tracks built for either the dance floor or the listening room, "Rotate. Freely." will be quick to establish itself as one of the hot summer records to have in the bag. The record features artists who have either been to - or played at - the Freerotation music festival that occurs every July in Wales. AMR Chief Director Malcolm Moore, who makes an appearance on this EP, was inspired by the festival and the music showcased there.
Malcolm's track, "They Just Don't Know You," is a melodic, acid-tinged middle finger to all those in the industry who make assumptions about others based on perception. This first cut features a baseline that grows harsher as the song progresses. The second track, by up-and-comer Natan H (Jordan Hochenbaum) of Gauss (Batti-Batti) offers a belter of his own in "Cruisin'" that starts off innocuously enough but then grows into a bona-fide, acid-bathed heater at its apex.
On the flip, things continue with "Ungentle Into That Good Night" from Chicago Skyway, a longtime AMR family member. As in previous releases on the label, this track features him on the deeper, darker side, yet is still quintessential Skyway with snares, kicks, and high-hats drizzled throughout. A muted, macabre pad swells up from the start, then intertwines with a similarly dark, filtered lead through the remainder of the cut. Finally, Mick Welch, an understated artist from the UK, closes out the EP with "Tetra Hi", a rimshot-infused, arpeggiated number blended with velvety keyboard leads.

Need you back is a collaboration piece between the anonymous Mystep character and vocalist Frank H. Carter III. The original track and vocal laid the grounds for remix work by label regular Jamie Trench, and a most experimental remix by our new friend Dudley Strangeways. This release also commemorates 3 years of Made Fresh Daily, it's been a hell of a lot of fun and learning so far. Here is to another 3, MFD forever.

Marshall Jefferson, Ron Hardy & Frankie Knuckles collaborating across 2 sides of a single 12" Need we say more Obviously that's a dream line-up right there & of course the results of such a meeting of minds is nothing short of outstanding! Just listen to the record & you'll see! Essential business...
"Ride The Rhythm" came out on Trax in 1986, making it one of the "first wave" House records to land & make a massive impression here in the UK & in Europe. Marshall Jefferson's fingerprints are all over this bad boy, his massive piano riffs, non-stop bass-lines, the pounding drums, everything about this record is just HUGE! He had an incredible knack for making accessible, club tracks with cross over appeal that the underground heads clamored to get hold of at the same time. Throw Frankie & Ronnie (literally) in the mix & you've got solid, classic, all-time Gold on your hands (& turntables!).
Fully re-mastered, re-pressed & re-released for 2015 in it's original format with the permission & participation of all rights holders with all original Trax label artwork intact.

Hot Creations call upon VIVa boss Steve Lawler for their next release, rounding 2014 off with a bang - an amazing year for the leading label. With such a widespread knowledge of music and the industry, here Lawler gives us a musical education. 'House Record' is a dose of old school 80s house injected with a modern twist with 'City Nights' following suit on the B-side. There is no doubt both tracks will dominate the dance floor at peak time, capturing each heart with their infectious bouncing bass-lines, pacey percussions and all round feel good energy. This is proving to be a huge release for Hot Creations and Steve, featuring heavily in Jamie, Richy, Lee and Steve's set's... this is seriously HOT!
Steve's music can be found on highly respected labels such as R&S Record, Drumcode, Cocoon, OVUM, Rekids, Soma, and of course his own imprint VIVa MUSiC. He also has a huge release dropping on Seth Troxler's Play It Say It at the end of this year. Remixes of high prole artists such as Jamelia, Dido and Justin Timberlake can also be found. Head of the respected VIVa MUSiC, Lawler founded the label in 2006 and has featured artists such as Reboot, Jamie Jones, Davide Squillace, Luca Bacchetti, Bushwacka, Plasmik, Ripperton, Peace Division, Tiefschwarz and many more.

shtum strikes back with another fresh talent straight from Leipzig's basements. With only two releases so far, Leibniz' sound is already pretty forward thinking. On "shtum 004" he explores beats between dusty House, his Hip-Hop roots and off-the-grid drum patterns. The record starts with "YouAndMe" which showcases dirty percussion work and a cracking sample over an unstoppable piano melody. "Feli" is a House killer track through and through. And when that chord changes hands are up! Based on spooky synths "PukPukPuk" sounds like nasty Ambient with heavy beats. That tune surely cuts its own path on the dance floor. Finally, "Stumm" feels like one single Rave build-up. But with understatement it denies the climax. Once again, the illustration on the B-side label is by Aram Haydeyan.

Arriving at the mythical 23rd release is a time for contemplation. A chance to abandon the structures, guidelines and ethos of what has gone and do something different and fun. Here then is the apt titled 2 Late 4 Love EP from young Roy. To fit, the aesthetic of the label is abandoned for a sparse black + white hand stamped sleeves, limited one off pressing and congenial smiley on our faces. Afterall, everything starts with a 303...
One of the pleasures of running a label is the connections made, people met, artists worked with and also, opportunities it brings. To overcome ego is an unachievable life long challenge, so to work with others and bring the light their way is to seek some redemption. of a darkened soul.
Newcastleis Acid Waxa label has been bubbling away for years, putting out limited cassettes for the (acid) heads. Star of the show. Player of the year. Roy Of The Ravers !! Himself mythical beyond time. Here on new adventures in the search for love.
The title track comes in versions of snap electro percussives, dream-laden pads, all twinned with an ethereal otherness via contorting 303 melodies. Star of the piece Emotinium is itself a homage of a homage. Replays not yet banned, this is space-age dance music for the mind and body that goes beyond being bounced around via some Melchester Acid (anyone). Crunching, tough, primordial, a return to our source.
All together an EP celebration of the TB-303 at its finest. All this still links to the Emotional family via a meeting of minds. An Acid

Heady, head in the burbs techno culminations from Newcastle, Australia and producer Jordon Alexander who dips back into an insanely prolific production spell earlier this year (and follows up an EP on Collect Call) with four new tracks. Mall Grab's ethereality is shadowy, mixed with familiar night drive sensations and drugged out Strictly Rhythm vibes; mildly celestial 'hella stoned' introspections that pay homage to old Three 6 Mafia mixtapes as much as more recent astral experiences in house and techno. Starting off with the faded menace of vocal track 'Awake', which builds in steps into heavy, lo-fi 4/4 120 techno, the EP moves into hazy, sweaty and pumping zones on 'Elegy' and then to the b-side with the sunnier/just-woke-up feelings of 'Never', before blurring into the melodic drift of slow burner 'Drive', nostalgia-coated, hybridized and heavy all the way.credits

'Close your eyes, remember the body you've just seen, then undress it.' Dance Mania present the official 12' re-release of one of the all-time great Chicago house anthems, '7 Ways' by Hercules a.k.a. Marshall Jefferson featuring original mixes and brand new versions by ghetto house don, Jammin' Gerald.
One of the first tracks to kick-start the Dance Mania label in 1986, '7 Ways' is a sizzling, hedonistic dancefloor classic featuring Jefferson's ominous vocals directing the dancefloor to get intimate and jack in seven different ways over hard and minimal beats and bass. The track set the blueprint for the Dance Mania sound at the time, a raw alternative to other label contemporaries like Trax and DJ International: 'The early sound was a bit edgier and more underground,' remembers Dance Mania's Ray Barney. 'It was the music I was being given by the producers and it was made primarily for the dancefloor so we didn't really get much radio airplay at the time.'
The track also helped to launch Marshall Jefferson's career, appearing hot on the heels of his huge hit 'The House Music Anthem (Move Your Body)' from the same year, 1986. Two years earlier, starting from scratch, Jefferson had blagged a credit line and bought up equipment including a Yamaha QS-1 sequencer and a TB-303 bass synth: 'I played all the instruments on all my records but I wasn't really a musician, I would just play stuff at 40bpm, would stack notes and learned how to do the timing so it would sound natural when I'd speed it up from 40bpm to 120bpm.'
This exclusive new edition of '7 Ways' is remastered for 12' and features Marshall Jefferson's main vocal mix and Li'L Louis' club remix featured on the original Dance Mania 12'. Harder new mixes come courtesy of another Dance Mania legend from the '90s ghetto era, Jammin' Gerald.

'FT', which Sean describes as 'electronic, psychedelic soul', sees him collaborate with an extraordinarily diverse range of artists, spanning some of the most significant underground musical icons of the past 40 years.
This stellar collection of artists includes:- Yoko Ono, avant garde musician, conceptual artist and one of the most controversial female artists of all time, Bootsy Collins, widely regarded as one of the finest Funk/R'n'B bass players in the world, Dave Ball, co-founder of Soft Cell, notorious UK synth pioneers with the uniquely sleazy electric soul sound, Fred Schneider from the manic, bizarre and highly innovative US new-wave group B-52's and Alan Vega, vocalist of the essential and groundbreaking New York duo Suicide. A full list of collaborating artists is below.
Hifi Sean is the songwriter, DJ and producer Sean Dickson. He is most famously known as front man of the Scottish band The Soup Dragons, responsible for a series of huge hit singles, 'I'm Free', 'Divine Thing', and 'Mother Universe'. Dickson was also the main creative force behind the follow-up project The High Fidelity, a much more artful and intimate project, critically acclaimed for the releases 'Demonstration' and 'The Omnichord Album' . Those albums included two very rare musical collaborations between Dickson and legendary Radio DJ John Peel and also the late Mickey Finn (one half of 70's musical giants T-Rex). In some ways, this was the germination of an idea that would provide the conceptual foundation behind 'FT'.
Sean underwent a total musical reinvention at the turn of the millennium, evolving and transforming his creative energies from a guitar playing band front-man to a DJ. He began playing house, disco and electro in Glasgow's burgeoning and innovative club scene, before relocating to London in 2006 where he began to become a staple figure at deep house underground and afterhours clubs.
As the artist Hifi Sean he is now a highly respected DJ and producer, having held residencies at Fire, Ministry of Sound, Shoreditch House and Savage Disco, as well as playing regular international shows in Europe and the USA.
In creating 'FT', Sean has carefully fused elements from his past and present musical lives into something unique and joyous.
The album is a journey through psychedelic dance rhythms, and electronic and soulful moods, drawing from elements of Disco, Chicago house, Detroit techno, and London underground party roots. 'FT' is at once an homage to the foundations of his musical heart and a determined attempt to forge something new and vital from the sounds that have fuelled his life in music. It is also partly an autobiography in audio of the past 15 years of his life observing dancefloors, and growing as a producer.
The album guides the listener from soulful euphoria to Balearic bliss, new wave punk-house to conceptual cosmic voyage, ending with the crescendo of the full-on orchestral movement 'A Kiss Before Dying' with Alan Vega from Suicide. 'FT' carefully underlines the gifts of each of its vocalists, a work which is the instinctive pulse of multiple dances floor tempered and crafted by the nuanced heart and head of the songwriters craft.
Calling upon his 25 years of music business experience and connections, Sean worked hard to pull together a collection of quite possibly one of the most impressive range of collaborations witnessed on a single release in recent memory. These transatlantic recordings were made possible through collaborations recorded in London, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Cincinnati, Washington, Glasgow and Toronto.
Sean says of the project: I think of this album as a curated gallery of all my favourite sounds and loves, and when moulded together, the record paints a unique and personal picture of my life experience.'

The second of two brilliant EPs produced by Merweyn Saunder and Eric Lewis. Although this was released under a different name, they were actually all done in the set of sessions that also gave us the previous release, The Virgo Four EP. As far as the duo were concerned M.E. was their name and Virgo was imposed on them by someone at Trax. The two EPs were later conjoined and released as an album in the UK Radikal under the name Virgo. It was re released in 2010 by Rush Hour.

For our 50th release on Delusions Of Grandeur we're pleased to bring you seven exclusive tracks from a mighty-fine collection of both existing DOG artists and veritable newcomers alike.
Kicking off Part One we have Rush Hour regular Nebraska who manages to successfully combine elements of wait for it... trance and broken beat into an altogether more exciting and amazing way than that actually sounds on paper. Organic, sampled drums with plenty of grit and dirt lay down a groove whilst spacey synth arps and an almighty break (in a subtle way) make this something of an epic which all of us here have fallen for in a big way.
Quintessentials and Kolour LTD favourite Ugly Drums steps up next digging deep in his seemingly bottomless collection of brilliant of disco and soul to mine some killer samples and conjuring up a masterclass in deepest ravehouse in the process.
Rounding off Part One DOG mainstays and bona fide Retreaters Session Victim do what they do best on Came To Be Alive, turning in a completely blissed-out, dusty soul jam tailor-made as much for cozy nights in front of a log fire as for antipodean BBQ's under a hazy sun.

Yoruba Records is proud to welcome multi-instrumentalist, singer, producer and 22a label owner, Tenderlonious to the family with this magnificent six-track EP. The opening and title track of this EP, Nobody Else, is a deep and jazzy cut - the chunky kicks and floating bass line move this track to a climax with ease. Perfect for home listening, this jam also yearns for the dance floor and sets the tone for this EP. A2 brings us Sula, a head-bob inducing, pan-flute led jam. The scattered keys and rolling bass add enough funk to get you moving and make this light hearted groove a listener favourite. Side A closes with Brother Yusef (Interlude): a short yet totally hypnotic melody, this track is a must-listen. Almost as quickly as it picks you up and locks you in, you'll find yourself being let down gently and asking for more. Mind That Widow keeps the pace of this release by opening side B with another deep, jazzy cut that calls attention to detail in a way that only Tenderlonious can. A captivating flute line and keys dripping with reverb are sure to grab your attention while the broken drum beat will keep listeners moving into the night. Next up, Without You is undoubtedly a future Yoruba classic. With absolutely memorizing keys and fat bass stabs that seem to pick up exactly where the layered vocal leads leave off, this track is as complex as it is deep - we can't get enough of it and we know you won't either. This EP closes with You Were My Number 1 - an infectious dance floor groove. The rising key lines and stomping kicks blend with sensual vocals to make this floor-ready jam a must have for your record bag.

Side A - Of Love Mystery _Taken from the Da Soul Revival EP released on Dancemania Records in 1995.Heres another one of Tyrees most sought after tracks. It has that classic four to floor bodyjacking Dancemania Ghetto House sound, with a touch of that Chicago innocence to it. Side B - Kan U Feel It _Originally released in 1998 on Nepenta Records UK. Well,If you like phat beats and thick basslines, then this track is for you. It reminds of those early releases in the 80s on DJ International Records or Trax Records, where the groove was the most important factor.

Superconcious present a further evolution for Melbourne producer András. Looney house recorded with DIY immediacy, this fresh 5 tracker takes subtle cues from Cajmere, Pal Joey and lesser known 90s Australian cuts culled from the 3RRR FM library.'T.N.T.F.' was the fastest track András had even written until revving the Pajero offroad and clocking 138 bpm on 'Always Pumping'. On the two mixes of 'Gold Coast', he finds heaven in a tourist hell, making hotel room acid before hitting the balcony for some cool breakbeat over a Bacardi and coke. The absurdity continues with the horny-Australiana disco of 'Soy Boy', rounding off a welcome return to his inimitable solo work.

We here at L A MISSION like to whip out our politics in public. We kinda get off on it. And so we're especially excited to slip you B EANER' s first solo outing on the label . From track titles to sound samples to magazine articles to packaging, this record / magazine / performance package highlights im/migration, the brown experience, and stripped identity. La Mission knows from brown. The collective is run by a crew of devastatingly handsome deviants whose racial identity is, well...it's complicated. We've lived our lives being neither white enough nor brown enough to fit neatly into racial categories. And so we took some time out from our usual exploits (like our MultiDirectional Playground Tire Swinging' orgies and Elected Candidate/Dead Pig/HungerGames slashfic) to focus on brownness. People started talking about cultural appropriation' when Miley Cyrus started twerking. We couldn't throw shade fast enough. But cooptation and exotification runs rampant in all genres of music-including dance music. We here at La Mission feel pretty fucking awkward about it. We've seen queerofcolor culture turned into whitedudebro business ventures. And as brown folks with stripped and fragmented identities, we're never sure of what culture is ours to use and abuse, anyway. Can we honor our own roots if they're messy and broken When we're inspired' by the music of other cultural groups, is that solidarity or stealing Nothing we have is whole. We can only work with the fragments we have at hand, well aware that there's unfinished business... BLACKMOUTH is the live version of the classic soul/disco sampling house tune. Stop what you're doing right now, you've just found that record that stays with you all summer. The record to soundtrack the BBQ, to gently raise the energy on a hazy evening, to baffle the midnight marauders into dancefloor destruction, to give the early morning ravers that extra kick. That 'one more song'.
WotNot have spent the last two years on a mission to prove that intelligent music can be footloose and fun. This release marks a milestone in this mission, with possibly the most complex bass line to ever stick in your head, from a man whose every DJ set serves as an education as much as a liberation. A man with a hunger for new records that has seen him included as a featured Bandcamp fan alongside the likes of Gilles Peterson.
K15 is known to many musical worlds; a go-to on the UK soul/jazz circuit, with production on Belle's Lapwing EP, and DJ sets supporting the likes of Bilal and Marsha Ambrosius; a figure on the beat scene with his hypnotic instrumental tapes; and spinner of infectious dancefloor oddities old and new across London. This EP presents yet another facet, the soulful, jazz-inflected house that has had man-of-the moment Kyle Hall all ashiver.
Bordeaux has all the sophistication the name implies, a delicious bubbling bass line with subtle notes of garage and building layers of improvisation providing an earthy jazz undertone. Broken beat legend Kaidi Tatham builds on the chord progression in his soul-laden rework, with light-footed percussion adding brightness to his famously refined palette. House rising stars Glenn Astro & IMYRMIND add body to the original in their rejig, fierce swinging house with sermon-like vocal cuts raising the potency to a powerful climax.
B side Hall Of Memories brings its own bubble; simmering, expectant synth textures rising and falling over an evolving bass hook. A perfect summer set opener or closer.
This EP represents the all-encompassing but distinctive flavours that K15 has made his reputation as a DJ on. And how exciting to see him take the first step in another of many directions, with great leaps certain to come.

Aux-Rec is Airdrop's offshoot label designed with a specific mission in mind: to look back and pay tribute.
Aux-Rec continues its survey of musical history, looking for those inspiring pieces of music (famous or forgotten) that carry a very distinctive groove and identity, and that offer the potential to be revisited in an ingenious contemporary way.
At Airdrop, we love music of all ages and of many genres! We feel Aux-Rec is a way for our artists and for us to pay our due respects to the origins and the evolution of contemporary dance music.
Neil Tolliday aka Nail, released the Themis records on his own Velocet imprint between '96 and '98. These three extremely rare 12"s constitute a great and important part of Tolliday's work.
For our eighth and ninth installments, we are glad to present the re-release in two episodes, of the long lost Themis works - re-shuffled, re-packaged and re-mastered by Matt Colton.
