2012 seems to be Jordan Peak's year! He will set up his own label and has remixes out on top class labels like 2020Vision, Real Tone and Ibadan.

Minor Details' is another top production from up and coming UK producer Jordan Peak. With releases on quality labels like Tsuba, Robsoul, One Records or Area Remote, this new release is another solid offering from the talented youngster. The original version of 'Three One Two' is a percussive yet deep club track, whilst the Julien Sandre remix adds more pump with it's rugged acid bassline. 'Got Soul' is stripped down and raw, a trademark of Jordan's work and that's what we like. Nick Lawson's remix takes the track in a smoother direction and completes this well balanced ep.

Two great new edits of Nina Kraviz 'Ghetto Kraviz'. Not originally commissioned they were done on the fly and deemed so hot, they had to be released!

Both hailing from France, Amine Edge is part of the French 'G House' Movement, whilst Alex Kidd is a long time cohort and member of the Rekids crew. Catch them whilst you can. This is a limited pressing!

Sonic Underground compiles remixes by the CCC family of up-and-coming indie artists - four floor-ready, mutant hybrids of rock, pop, disco and deep house. Belgian firebrand Mugwump's rework of CCC's own Acid Snow transforms the acid/no-wave original into a disco-house monster that's earned accolades from the likes of Ewan Pearson and Magda. Ivan Smagghe calls the remix "a no-nonsense record. While some look for experimental arty-ness, some for the big hit, all of this pretending to be 'underground', Mugwump pull out of their sleeves what is properly hard to achieve, a cool big track." In a similar way, the rest of Sonic Underground explores new combinations of arty edginess and mass appeal. Mack Winston & The Reflections see their swaggering glam-rock transformed by CCC into a deep back-room sex jam that's getting support from the Wolf + Lamb crew and is featured on Soul Clap's compilation CD for Mixmag in February. The flipside highlights remixes by CCC's own Night Plane: with its atmospheric guitar and emo vocals, his take on Presssures sounds like if The Cure ever showed up on Crosstown Rebels, and his re-design of fellow New Yorker Baby Alpaca is a dreamy k-hole lullaby, with blissed-out melodies that make it an after-hours snuggle classic.

When luminaries such as Mike Huckaby proclaim you never need to make a record again' you know that something special has gone down. UK producer/DJ Red Rack'em (aka Danny Berman) launched his Bergerac label in late 2010 with a bona fida smasher How I Program'. Since then Bergerac have released the critically acclaimed Red Rack'em debut album The Early Years' and a second single Feel My Tears' which brought him to the attention of hot UK label Ramp Recordings who promptly signed the next Red Rack'em album (which is due for release later on this year). 2011 was another busy year for D...

Jonny White & Nitin's No.19 Music turns up the heat with an incredible four t track sampler that is certain to set things alight at this years Winter Music Conference in Miami...

No.19 Music needs little introduction at this stage, having risen from obscurity in a few short years to become one of the most talked about labels on the globe, with some of the hottest producers in dance music. To coincide with this year's conference the No.19 team has put together a stunning sampler featuring four tracks from the label's artists and friends.

ManMakeMusic continue their adventure into the musical hinterland beyond bass, techno, house and garage with two cuts from new signing, Trikk. Hailing from Porto, Portugal, and a recent addition to London's kaleidoscopic music scene, Trikk effortlessly marries old school charm with new school edge. A-side, 'Jointly', takes Robert Hood-esque jackin' techno drums and unites them with twisted garage vocal chops and relentless bass. On the flip, 'I Fall Down' takes things down a gear with an emotive mix of cavernous synth lines, heartbroken vocals and skipping drums which harks back to the finest moments of broken beat.

For our second release of 2012 we're proud to present yet another new member into the Local Talk family, Mr. Wil Maddams.

A deep passion for underground house music led Wil to start DJing and producing his own music. As one half of production outfit Remote People and part of the Cambridge based label Remote Music, Wil is quickly becoming a name to look out for and has already developed his own unique style within the house territory.

When Wil sent us his latest tracks it didn't take many minutes to decide that we wanted to release his music on Local Talk. We even decided to release not one but two records. The tracks on his first release retain much of the vibe that makes house music so special, whether it's the classic jacking grooves, or that raw Detroit feel Wil certainly has a knack for creating house the way we at Local Talk like it.

Patiently waiting for the year of the dragon to commence, Nick Chacona & Anthony Mansfield are finally back with a 3 track EP of epically mental proportions!

San Proper - Rattle (Station2Station)
Like the earlier mentioned Juju & Jordash and Makam, San Proper has been involved in Dekmantel's activities from the very beginning as well. It seems that the notorious Dutchmen is getting better with every release. Rattle is an exiling piece of house music, that will shake up dance floors easily.

It's hard to believe that Meschi only released his first record at the start of 2011. Since then he's been refining his sound by putting out a series of records that take in a large and varied breadth of house music. But no-where else has Meschi's sound been more ground-breaking than with his new E.P, 'Light Wave Theory'.

The debut album from Italian producer Nick Anthony Simoncino. Produced exclusively on analog hardware and recorded to an old cassette tape.
This L.P is Simoncino's ode to early Chicago dance traxxxs.

Recording under different aliases, the Burrell Brothers were the backbone of Nu Groove Records. This New York label started in 1987 and took inspiration from Trax Records, both musically and aesthetically. This compilation compiles the absolute best of the Burrell's output and in doing so gives us a valuable insight to the much overlooked roots of New York house music !
It is now close to 25 years ago that Nu Groove Records started operating from New York City, in
which its house scene was starting to blossom at that time. In the four years the label existed, 1988 till 1992, it has released over 100 records. Nu Groove started by releasing records by Rheji and Ronald Burrell and continued to do so until the label folded. The brothers were scouted by the label's a&r after they had recorded a ton of material for EMI America that never came out. The album that did came out flopped commercially. The deal with EMI was discontinued and the pair started to release stuff through Nu Groove.

This release is a celebration of the work of the Burrell Brothers. The album includes a wide variety of their music under all their various guises. And despite their different guises, all the music they made always had a grainy quality to it, like house music with a sepia tint. In Rheji's words: 'The first House'n Authority was straight to cassette. That's how we'd record our demos and stuff so we didn't want to change what we did because it worked. I liked the fact that house music was crusty.
Like an old jazz record, I liked the hiss.'
The second CD features the 15 best tracks of their catalog. It zooms in on Rhehi's N.Y. House'n
Aurthority project. With its raw drum programming and going both in a energetic jacking direction
as well as a more deeper reflecting direction, it reminds of early Fingers and Trax Records. His tracks recorded under Metro are another testament to Rheji's love for deep Chicago house tracks. Also included here is Ronald's K.A.T.O project which shows us a deep and hypnotic side to their music. Another highlight is the much sought after house classic 'I'll Say A Prayer 4U' by Equation. The inclusion of Aphrodisiac material was a must, most notably the ambient-esque 'Song of the Siren. Another Ronald Burrell highlight here is the equally classic 'How Do U Luv A Black Woman'. Another high point is the energetic 'The Answer' by Equation, which became a rave anthem in the
UK in the early 90's.

Too much good music to mention, just listen and take it all in. You don't get more classic NY house
music than this!

After being brought to the attention of the L.I.E.S. camp almost five years ago by New York legend PorkChop (SSPS/Nation/Excepter) the goal was to release something by the mythical figure known back then as, Below Underground. As time passed from 2007 to the present PorkChop had continued to pass along the music of his friend from Chicago every time we dj'ed together. As L.I.E.S. took shape I had made contact with the artist and discussed the prospect of getting a hold of his archive of songs and releasing some of them, only to find out most of his early recordings had been lost (thankfully, due to PorkChop we recovered them).
Now transformed and known as Svengalisghost, we present three undeniably original compositions from these sessions which sit in the grey area where early house music and primitive industrial electronics met and existed on the same plain. Check out this video from the hand of director Marcus Mixx!

Limited pressing of Ed Davenport's 'Counterchange' album sampler.

Berlin based Brit Ed Davenport has announced his debut LP, Counterchange, will be released in March 2012.

Having slowly but assuredly emerged through the mire of house producers in the last 5 or so years, Ed Davenport now cuts it with the best of them. A steady stream of singles, EPs and remixes have come on labels like liebe*detail, Falkplatz and Pooled Music in recent times, but arguably it's the Salisbury born man's work for Bristol's NRK which has found him really finding his feet. The More Red Lights and New Yorkshire EPs from 2011 are testament to that, both of which explored a well-designed, thick and heavy house and techno sound.

It's a similar sound explored throughout Counterchange, too, but with plenty of concessions to filmic home listening rather than straight up dancefloor fodder. Notably, breakbeats feature heavily up the spine of the album, as does subtle vocal sampling and plenty of atmospheric tension.

Says Ed: ''Counterchange' is a further development of my vision of electronic music, that sits somewhere between the club and home listening. The title relates to the relationship and contrast between any two opposites. That could simply be harmony, light andshade, viewpoints or opinions. From my background studying as a graphic designer, the use of counterchange in a visual sense can be very effective.'

Starting with the brooding drums and moody voices of 'Of Light & Shade' the album unfurls through the barely restrained rave euphoria of the title track, the beautifully re-worked melodies of 'New Yorkshire' and 'More Red Lights' as well as touching on some sombre downbeat bleakness, bold concrete funk and under-lapping deep techno. The penultimate track, 'Somewhere,' is to be the album's forceful first single: an obvious choice for its deeply hypnotic rhythms and train-track grooves.

Frankly, the album is a real voyage from start to finish, and one that marks Davenport out as someone with plenty to say, as well as the skills to say it.

Two Dogs In A House is Steve Summers and Ron Morelli (L.I.E.S) meanest project to date. Rising from the delay saturated muck, pushing the red, straight forward and to the point with no time to waste, these Brooklyn dogs started with a simple modus operandi as to make effective, psychedelic tracks that they would want to hear on a proper club system.

Second release in the Delsin X-DSR series containing re-issues of personal favourites.. M.K.'s The MKappella was originally a track on the b-side of the very original version of his huge Burning EP on the Area 10 label. The MKappella is some original innocent deep sunset house. Other side contains the adventurous 'Lost' by The 7th Plain aka Luke Slater, taken from his debut album 'The 4 Cornered Room" way back from 1994, the high days of the UK Techno scene, with lot of hints towards the original Detroit sound.

Local Talk continues to deliver the goods with a cracking new release via Irishman Shane Linehan from Cork.

Shane who also runs his own house label Basic Grooves was nice enough to give us a real New Jersey styled house dub that really sounds amazing. With thumping beats and raw stabs its a a real house nugget for the working house DJ.

But !

To make the release even stronger we've included a classy remix from Local Talks very own Fulbert (the mastermind behind our second release 'Garden State '92 EP') that combines the early 90s NYC and Paris underground house sounds. Its absolutely beautiful!

B-Tracks' debut at the end of last year was a runaway smash, gone in a flash. The Come Back EP is another deadly round of deep, real dance music from the two New Yorkers, schooled in vintage Gotham and Detroit house and techno, freshly to the manor born — driving, dub-wise, bare-bones, soulful, and melodic, by turns. Once again, don't sleep on it.

Like hangovers, labels come and labels go.

One week's must have is next week's must not, in a world fully loaded with hyperbole it's seems just as important to spin a story as it is a record.
Whilst we could go on some sort of extended written monologue about how this label is different, about how we care about music and about this is our dream like some PR-fed X-Factor contestant. That would be both really boring and completely pointless, more hype and no knickers.

Hissy Fit is the brainchild of the Moustache Mamas, part Berlin, part London composed of a US East-Coast sensibility and a UK North East sense of humour. It's a vehicle to be able to work with the artists and release the music they love, to give something physical (yes all releases will be pressed on vinyl) to the people that spend all that time dancing when the girls are DJing.
The Mamas have then built up a reputation of being Grade-A party starters across Europe, playing at the rawest of parties, and outshining some of the boys in the 'boys club'. Their approach to DJing is mirrored in their approach to starting Hissy Fit, the girls are serious about their music even if the music itself doesn't need to be serious.

For its first release Hissy Fit welcomes aboard Leeds Based 'Death On The Balcony'. This year they've been cosying up to the likes of Soul Clap and the Wolf and Lamb posse, as well as being booked to play all over the damn place causing hissy fits of epic (yet joyous) proportions. The EP contains three originals, and kicks off with 'Every Time' a synth-laced house jammer that brings in the clap & the punch with just the right 'Oomph' for the kids on the floor

'Gimme that Stuff' is a slo-mo stunner in the best possible way, it's a dark and brooding call to arms, the perfect early night weapon with more chug than a steam train whilst never disappearing down a long dark tunnel...
The EP also debuts the Mama's first ever piece of production work. Their track, '21 & Lewis' stylistically, perfectly, represents the direction the ladies have been moving in over the last year or so. They take their tune and sleaze it to within an inch of its dirty little life. It's straight up, proper (as people seem inclined to call it these days) house music. It's intentions being pretty obvious, get down or get out. !

Before Omar-S became a global cult hero amongst the underground house and techno community, there was Oasis - a collaborative project with fellow Detroit producer Shadow Ray that spawned two full-length albums of deep, stripped-back Motor City grooves. This timely reissue offers an expanded version of their 2004 debut set, Oasis Collaborating. Given that it was Alex "Omar" Smith's first attempt at an album it's pretty impressive, offering a hypnotic, otherworldly mix of cuts that icily flits between stone-cold drum tracks, droning ambience, mildly aloof club workouts and glistening, space age techno. This edition also includes three previously unreleased cuts, including two 2011 remakes that bring the originals bang up to date.

This is the 4th release in the now popular vinyl series personally compiled by legendary Detroit producer & DJ Terrence Parker. The 'A' side features a brand new TP production called 'Street Skate' which has elements of his classic releases from the 1990s.

Aka Felix Bergleiter and Danilo Plessow (Motor City Drum Ensemble). Analogue Chicago sounds for this one, resulting in a cut-the-crap-and-get-on-the-floorand-dance record. Pure bliss.

Hunee - The Lowest Animal Rising star Hunee digging up some oldschool sounds for his The Lowest Animal.
Nine-o-nine action and a string-laden climax do the job properly here. The 7.38 minutes are gone before you know it.

Second time out on All City Dublin for Krystal Klear following on from his recent excursion on Eglo, upping the pace for a two tracker with a French house feel. A side 'We're Wrong' is a piano-led house explosion with chopped vocals and hypnotic boogie grooves. Flipside 'From The Start' is an infectious filter house slow builder, and both tunes combined make this the most outright floor-friendly release of ACD's eight years in business. As obvious as Techno and House's heavy influence is on 3024, one of the most consistent reference points has been the machine soul emanating from the city of Detroit for the last 30 odd years. We'll spare you yet another Euro-centric pseudo-Sociology lecture but the combination of geography, economics and community has produced music with an influence has consistently reached far beyond Michigan state. For our 17th release 3024 is honoured to continue our trek into the analogue wilderness with another artist heavily inspired by the city, Berlin's near legendary Redshape.An incredibly well respected artist renowned for his electrifying live sets we're incredibly proud to present a concise 2 track release, the latest addition to a notably selective discography. A-Side 'Throw In Dirt' opens with vintage drum machines locked into a stooped groove as hi-hats spark off the top while a heavily filtered and pitched vocal loop offers dead eyed encouragement. An improbably girthsome analogue bass line curdles almost to the point of sinister before an unambiguously menacing fog of whining synths starts to descend while kick, snare & hats spark and simmer off one another. At the tracks peak another unsettlingly simple melody is played out on keys, before the whole ensemble rumbles over the horizon. After such an oppressive opener, 'The Land' is a noticeable change of pace. A horizon spanning kick underpins gospel'ish vocal snatches as the familiar hissing of synthesized cymbals shifts and builds on top of bass that's more shudder than line. As these elements coil tighter around one another chiming pads build gradually, until the cymbal rush is momentarily halted, before redoubling it's efforts as the synths become increasingly turbulent. A sudden shift into brighter chords and the arrival of some understated 808 textures push the track further into machine gospel territory and towards a resolution. We're particularly proud of 3024-017s sleeve design as Erosie continues to develop and refine his signature style showcasing a striking and thematically consistent palette switch up.

Here we have a limited pressing containing three raw, underground house remixes of tracks from the forthcoming LP of a certain Essen based producer. Ava label boss Damiano Von Erckert goes jacking on an uptempo old school Detroit techno influenced Jam. Homewreckers head deeper on their beautiful mix of High Needs Low whilst Ugly Drums absolutely kills it with an amazing stripped back disco approach that shows just why he's such a hotly tipped producer for 2012. Essential.
