Following on from the massively in-demand Todd Terje remix of Bryan Ferry's 'Alphaville' comes another incredible remix by the man of the moment, this time a superb re-edit of Roxy Music's evergreen club classic 'Love Is The Drug'. Pressed by The Vinyl Factory, the double A-side also contains an epic Balearic remix of Roxy's 'Avalon' by fellow Norwegian disco legend Lindstrom. Essential!

Music; lover/producer/nut/obsessive/collector... Andy Ash first began producing and DJing in his early teens, taking inspiration from house producers and DJ's such as Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, Carl Craig and a whole host of others. Influenced from listening to DJ's such as these from an early age Andy has been digging into different sounds from across the musical spectrum in order to create his own blend of disco, house, techno and anything else that fits. Andy has recently begun to release his own blend of house and disco with a double 12' on Chicago's Stillove4music, several releases on Five20East records, some naughty edits in the popular L.E.S.S. series and an EP on Universal Vibes. Italian house producer Nicholas checks in with his first full solo outing for the Home Taping imprint.

A double helping of killer Cosmic rarities from legendary Miami-based disco label T.K., bringing together two super-obscure cuts from 1979 - Queen Samantha's amazing progressive electronic disco odyssey 'Take A Chance' and the heavy soul/funk epic 'Cosmic Funk' from the wonderfully-named Mad Dog Fire Department. The Queen Samantha track is eight minutes of slow-burning disco bliss - a bubbling mid-tempo monster with awesome percussion, super-funky bassline and the Queen's glorious soaring vocals which caused mayhem on the dancefloors at Mancuso's Loft and Levan's Warehouse as well as being a fave on the early NY breakbeat/hiphop scene with Afrika Bambaata giving it some heavy rotation. Flip over for Mad Dog's extremely hard to find 'Cosmic Funk', a grooving grinding low-slung workout featuring hypnotic chanting vocals and some wild synth action. Remastered for top-quality sound, this double A-sider is a must for lovers of that heavy T.K. sound.

Leo Zero is probably best known for his remixes of global acts like Florence & The Machine, Bryan Ferry & Paul Welller. But prior to this he's spent many years on the underground house scene, running parties, record labels, DJing, and learning the ropes in the studio.

Boston Ma 'Kon' has been djing internationally alongside some of the worlds best djs as well as releasing several comps/edits on Londons BBE label ( Kings Of series/ Off track vol's 1-3 along with his vinyl collecting friend Amir ) You may have heard his 1/2 hour multi-track remix mix for Gilles Peterson World Wide show on BBC radio 1 a few months back...well here Kon makes his debut dance release on the Hands of Time Gold imprint. Handling the production and arrangement, Kon gives us the original version as well as a dub, pairing of samples and original music he utilizes a very clever 1 bar vocal sample from multi track stems as well as live session players ( his gang ) to get his vision across. With its punchy drums & warm, feel good vibes.. it's a perfect affair for winding down this summer.

Brand new house version of this 1979 Paradise Garage classic from Patti Labelle

Limited remastered reissue of Robert Cotter's stunning 1980 album Timeless on Italian label Derby. This ultra-rare LP isn't easy to define, straddling a number of genres - funk, jazz, space-rock, Italo, and lashings of soul - all overlaid with Robert's cool vocals and powerful backing singers. Most sought-after tracks on this disco collector's dream are the opening 'Rock Me With Your Love', a nine minute epic mutating from a sweet soul intro into a quitar-lashed space-rock monster by the end, funk killer 'Everything I'm Living For' and the futuristically jazzy 'Timeless' with its minimal grooving synths. Also features the great slo-mo chugger 'Love Remains the Same' and beautiful ballad 'Got To Have You Near'. Essential!

Club Mod is a new endeavor by the Modular Recordings family. A series of 12" single releases aimed at some kind of dancefloor, Club Mod acts as one foot under the strobe and one in the future, an avenue for one-off releases with acts we've recently fallen in love with or those whom we've long time admired. It will be an eclectic, roughly monthly series in the name of dance.

The artwork for the new imprint has been lovingly created by the legendary Fergadelic. A demi-God of the graphic world, Fergadelic has created many incredible pieces of work in the last 10 years with his work for Silas, his own label Tonite, Slam City Skates, Stussy, Soulwax and Die Verboten. He's designed our 12" house bag with custom labels for each release and we're honored to be involved with him.

The 1st release is a by 120 Days, a 4 piece from Oslo who released an acclaimed self-titled record in 2006. In the time since, the band has been developing and honing a sound, the first taste of which is 'Osaka', A brooding, tribal, baggy acid beast, with remixes by Sidwho and Diskjokke which will come out on Club Mod.

This is only the third release on the CheckTheGuns label since 2008 - their mission to bring the finest in funk and disco edits to a discerning listenership continues in fine style.
The TapeEdit series has seen the guys combine secret weapons with more well known cuts, bringing top notch dancefloor friendly versions in every case & winning major support from a borad variety of DJ's and enthusiasts alike.
The label is a joint venture by DJ's and producers JC and The Dr who have been working side by side on various musical projects for the past 15 years.

Luke Fair, Mark Farina, Danny Krivit, Francois K and about another 20 big hitters and lots of other radio play. We think it could be a summer anthem if it is heard in the right places.

Limited reissue of this highly sought-after and extremely heavy electro-boogie cut from Serena. Originally released on tiny NYC label TNT Unl imited in 1983, this super-rare gem was produced by the great James Terry who was also responsible for other top boogie classics of the era such as 'Boogieland' by Ike Strong and True Image's 'Keep Me Dancing'. The instrumental gets all the attention here with super-funky basslines, cool vocoder chorus and ultra-crisp percussion and synths but the vocal is pretty damn strong too. Top priority for all boogie fans - don't miss this!

London-based deep house label Ornate Music come through with another gem in the shape of the latest EP from Dubbyman, filled with robust, beatdown grooves. The EP opens with "Time & Sensibility", creating an all-enveloping atmosphere with its oven-warm pads and rich analogue bass, punctuated with jazzy chords and vocal murmurings. "Kirigi Is Coming", meanwhile, showcases Dubbyman's excellent knack for crafting Moodymann style textures with the depth to boot, combining a solid rhythmic snap with drawn out vocal landscapes and Detroit-referencing melodies. Finally "Uuuuhhhh!!!!" closes the EP with its breathy intro and low slung filtered grooves combining with bubbling laser sound effects.

Mania Theme is a mid tempo acid chugger build for big systems and discerning dancefloors.
The Andrew Weatherall remix adds a live bass and synth arpeggios to produce a real trademark Weatherall bomb.
Elsewhere, Toby tobias' remix turns the brooding acid chugger into a sublime Balearic deep house groove reminiscent of the Italian house heyday and creates the same warm vibes as Don Carlos or Last Rhythm with a touch of acid for good measure.

The moustached disco avengers at Sccucci Manucci drop their latest missive, featuring more transmissions from the disco underground. Argentinean based Toomy Disco provides "What Goes Around", a tightly produced disco-house number with horn snippets woven around low-slung grooves, whilst The Glue deliver "Without You" a hazy slo-mo looper with vocal teases and hypnotic guitar licks. On the flip, South West Seven lock themselves into a fast moving groove with "What Have I Got To Do", a track that contrasts its fast rhythmic pulse with vocals and guitars that slowly emerge from the filtered ether. Aeromaschine close proceedings with "Deep Champagne"; combining a deep and melodic bassline with improvisational touches and glitchy vocal stutters, it successfully forges its own sound whilst keeping in line with his disco counterparts.

Winter is here meaning cold snaps, gritters, snowmen and of course, Fina 006. The new record takes a different angle than previous releases, enlisting a few friends and local Leeds gents to bring a cool little French-filtered number to the Fina repertoire.

MAM is a name you may have heard over the past 12 months, and if you haven't, you will do. Miguel Campbell and Matt Hughes have been behind some of the most influential underground disco tracks of the past two years, released a number one album through their Outcross Records imprint and recently signed to Wolf & Lamb's 'Black' with the huge 'Bedroom Dancer'. 2010 also saw Miguel join Jamie Jones's 'Hot Creations' crew, dropping the huge Beatport number one hit, 'Baby I Got it'.

Extremely welcome reissue for this ridiculously rare LP from German composer and bass maestro Wolfgang Maus. Seldom do such hyped albums live up to their reputation but this one does in spades - 'Children of the Universe' is a real delight from beginning to end with not a filler track in sight. It takes you on a journey of musical styles and emotions from great dancefloor-friendly disco-funk such as 'Civilisation', 'Time and Space' and the outstanding title track, meandering through experimental spaced-out soundscapes 'Introduction To Mankind' and 'Friendly Vibrations', and dipping into the languid soul of 'Western Way of Life', 'Nightmare' and 'Yesterday Has Gone'. Plus we have stunning slo-mo psychedelic disco gem 'Schizoprenic World' and finally to cap it off the the best-known track from the album 'Testimony', whose supremely laid-back dreamy disco vibes make it the Balearic DJs' secret weapon of choice. Don't miss this - it really is as good as they say it is plus awesome artwork to boot!

Cisco Cisco reappears on the Spanish label Apersonal Music with more nudisco quality from the Portuguese duo. 2 original tracks, 'Higher' the perfect weapon for the techydisco lovers and 'Brothers in Arms' freshing up the release with an enchanting laid-down groove. A solid offer that reaffirms the promising relationship between this rising artist and Apersonal, under which they debuted last year.

So, I guess DJ Kaos is no stranger for anyone with the slitest interest in dance music. This fine gentleman have had records out on a number of quality labels, and have also done countless remixes.

This EP - his first for Discofil - show cases some of DJ Kaos most obscure favourites. A record for the clubs, a record for the trainspotters.
