The Adelaide based Dessert Island Discs crew are back for their first release of 2012. A superb joint effort from LNTG and D.o.G, taking care of a side each. Continuing the barrage of huge edits from where they left off last year. Support from Horse Meat Disco and Greg Wilson!

Up front white label test pressings of the long overdue debut opus from underground dance icon Ali Renault! You might know Renault from his work as part of Heartbreak, or from many a fine release on the seminal Dissident, or maybe more under the radar releases on Cyber Dance, Future Flash and more. An impressive understanding of the four corners of the electro galaxy in Detroit, Rimini, Den Haag and London has permeated all Renault material and is certainly evident here. Across this eight-track double vinyl pack, Renault squeezes out plenty of bicep rippling moments fit for speaker exposure at World Unknown. Additional nods to Renault's influences come in the shape of a guest vocal spot from the iconic Italo voice that is Fred Ventura, whose delightfully off key tones line "Fade Away".

Whilst some people claim that the number seven is lucky, some people, like Duff, don't believe in luck, or if there is such a thing as luck you make your own. You can't rely on anyone else to hold your hand you know, you gotsta forge your own path, they aren't called the mean streets for nothing. Duff is the sort of man who not only makes his own luck (cos who else is gonna look after you) but he keeps an eye on his bredren too. Those in the neighbourhood feel safe because All's Good in Duff's hood, always has been, always will be, the police don't even come there, because they don't have to, that block is on lock-down brother. Though he isn't some type of machismo, over-the-top (hat back go-on Sly) caricature, it's just the way it is, nuthin to argue about. He has a way about him, the glare of a Pitbull and the smile of Don Juan, Dusty is his girl yep that's her real name, the name her mamma gave her on the day she was introduced to this world. The girl is fine that's for sure but what else would you expect from the honey that rides shotgun with the sonic Casanova. She might call herself lucky. Duff would disagree.

2000Black returns with a new 12' from Shokazulu, two excellent instrumentals. Both laced with the throwback flavour this label is famous for. Shokazulu's last release sold out fast, so get in quick this is sure to be another hit!

SEAHAWKS remix and John Talabot Midnight Club RevisionF3 are three brothers from Tel Aviv, who sent 'Lonely Land' in a bottle from Israel that somehow found its way to us. Are they triplets We don't know. Are they ancient Balearic overlords, risen from their white sand graves Or are they cosmic kids, a new generation of vagabond disco trippers taking to the future by way of the past - we can't say. Have they produced a sparkling slice of sunrise disco house We'd like to think so.

'Lonely Land' is a filtering, chugging swing for the lovers, and F3's debut. The ClubMod002 release includes remixes by John Talabot and Seahawks and is set for release on February 27.

A fear of flying has kept him firmly grounded otherwise he would be touring the world constantly. His early work on the JUICE and DIRTY HOUSE labels are prized among many of the world's top dj/producers including LUCIANO, HARRI, OPTIMO, and RICHIE HAWTIN to name just a few.
He announced his return to producing with a killer edit of Roland Clark track 'I Get Deep' in 2007 on the label T-BOTS ALL NITE HOUSE PARTY under his new pseudonym of LATE NITE TUFF GUY. For Us - the label of Rough Trade Shops - releases a stunning 12" from los angeles' pollyn and not only that - a killer moodymann mix too.
every turn on this 5 track 12" shows something different from the band. album track 'how small we are' shows their signature atmospheric sound, pushed further with african percussion, multiple choirs and heavier synths. then there's 'mysterons' - their take on the opening track from portishead's 'dummy' album. it's almost unrecognizable, reconstructing it into a synth-ed out new wave party jam. there's two heavyweight mixes as well from shangaan electro and the mighty Moodymann.

Nozinja and nurse Matlala of South Africa's shangann electro scene took pollyn's catchy, all-about-the-bassline track 'how small we are' and made it even more thrilling by adding new vocals and doubling its length.

Finally the cherry on the cake is the Moodymann remix of Sometimes You Just Know'.
Some say this is one of his finest mixes in years and we have to agree, keeping the song intact he adds some of his drum know-how and detroit funk to turn the original into a total dancefloor destroyer

Still Going's first release on their newly minted label aims to find out.
Opening with snippets of sonic whispers, instruments are soaked in super glue and thrown at the wall.
What sticks All of it, even as some of the elements ooze down or soar upwards. The guitar, which sounds like it was cut out of a Manuel Göttsching jam session, manages to do both simultaneously, giving new meaning to the word "riffing". Beeps, buzzes, and saw wave hooks impart a seemingly random ebb and flow, but the steady punctuation of it all lays bare a sense of purpose. Before you know it, each effect is in conversation, all at once, like the sound of the crowd of a bar building up throughout an evening.

And who's the throaty femme singing on the track Why, none other than Lizzy Yoder, she of the infamous Fischerspooner. Just when the song peaks en masse, piano, whirling around a chandelier, takes the party outside, where they pass out in the street. Rock & roll meets techno rebound meets dinner theatre—and there's an unflagging, unchanging house beat keeping it all together.

Extremely welcome reissue for one of the absolute holy grails of the rare groove scene. Ultra-rare and super-expensive in it's original 1980 release, this incredibly sexy tune from Chicago band Starvue fully deserves its status as a true soul anthem. Produced by The Chi-lites' Clarence Johnson, 'Body Fusion' never lets up the dancefloor pressure from beginning to end - the wonderful fusion of achingly beautiful strings, loping bass, flutes, the coolest fingersnaps and of course the mesmerising vocals of Tony Hicks combine to create an intensely emotional and rolling momentum that builds and builds. A masterpiece of soul history that still sounds as fresh as ever - essential!

The second release from Leipzig based Rose Records comes with tracks by M.ono, Luvless and Martin Hayes. Once again a strictly limited vinyl-only edition of 250 numbered copies.

London based label ISM serves up a massive EP with three tracks from Russian disco producer Volta Cab, all of which offer some seriously downtempo grooves. "Play On" and "Magic In Your Eyes" nail the classic sub 110BPM disco sound with its lush live instrumentation. However it's the shining 80s feel of "He's A Bad Mutha" that is the most impressive, melding a sleazy vocal with a heart-rending combination of synths and horns. Label bosses Yam Who offer two remixes, with their version of "Play On" a cosmic uptempo version of the original, with an ascending synth bass that elevates the original vocal to new heights. Their remix of "He's a Bad Mutha" adds a similar amount of extra dancefloor kick, removing the original's yearning melody for something a little more forceful.

Eric Duncan (of RUB 'N TUG fame) drops release number five in his Keep It Cheap series - this time inviting the ever on-point Justin Vandervolgen (TBD) to take care of B Side duties

We have been working on new material for the last couple of years - honing, rejecting reworking and occasionally performing it out live. The objective of this Gramme re-birth has been simple, but the decisions involved are always complex: simplicity is always the toughest of aspirations. We've been jamming together over the last few months and we've set up mobile studios wherever and whenever we've been able, including some of our office spaces after hours.

When we recorded 'Pre Release' on Trevor Jackson's Output label in 1996 we were still forming as a band - still in development. The EP didn't actually get a release until 1999. The 6 tracks on the EP were the only ones we had written, so when we performed live we played them like it was our last day on Earth - it was crazy and intense! We were then signed to Junior Boys Own, which was an equally intense period - but for different reasons. We found ourselves caught up in a big industry machine which we were not designed for. It was a horrible experience and in the end the album was shelved. So fast-forward a decade, and being able to write and record new material has been exciting, a chance to create music that's raw and complete.

The first track on the new EP which has gathered interest from a few DJs when we've jammed it live is Rough News. This track was initially a warm up groove during our sound checks which slowly started to become something more solid. It was our first benchmark of a sound to move forward with and a reason to believe in our music again. The second track is IFTM (I Feel The Moment) which started life more as a twitch rather than a track, but it found its legs after hours of repeated playing and some expert tweaking during Dave and Leo's late night studio sessions. We definitely feel Fascination represented a real turning point for Gramme's re-birth as it arrived, fully formed, as more a gift than the product of hard labour! With spirits raised we quickly squared the circle adding LOL, which we feel completes the EP beautifully. We knew these tracks worked together so have decided to release them this month, to be followed by new material in May. It's official - Gramme is back!

Not necessarily back by popular demand or anything - however, we're on a mission none the less to disprove the theory that sequels can't ever live up to originals with part 2 of "I Love You .. But I've Chosen Disco"

Three years in the making, Symmetry - the project that began as a conceptual tangent between Glass Candy, Chromatics, Mirage, & Desire's more abstract sides - finally sees its release this month. Themes For An Imaginary Film is two hours of claustrophobic cinematic bliss compiled for Painters, Writers, Photographers, Designers, Cruisers, Night Walkers, & Dreamers. Adrenaline drips thick like syrup across a horizon where memories become blurred scenes behind the windshield & yesterday's faces fade as the road strobes to aggressive rhythms. Romantic melodies linger in the rearview mirror as chimera bells saturate the electric fog that's slowly rolling in.

Yellorange must be considered one of the most prolific house music labels in history. Founded in 1998 by the legendary Tony Humphries, the label closed its doors after a short run only in 2003 when Strictly Rhythm (who handled its distribution) collapsed. In those few years, the label put out nothing but quality music, with many -if not all - of these releases being considered a classic nowadays - just think of "Rescue Me" by Sunkids, "Freedom" by Midnight Express featuring Sabrina Johnston, "In my Arms" by DJ Pope & Una, "It's Alright" by 8B or "Ups & downs" by Kimiesha Holmes to name only a few.

After their first track Wonder on compilation French Electronic Underground (Neopren 2011), Theremynt duet is
pursuing his pop synth quest with a new ep Silenzio , also part of their forthcoming album Space Control due to
come out on record label Neopren next spring. Theremynt is an artistic duet composed of Jan Richard and Eva
Peel ex- drummer in an indie-rock band, Jan has progressively neglected toms and charley to devote himself to
synths and machines along with music partner Eva Peel. Eva Peel both singer and a Dj also works as a multimedia
artist (producing videos & images represented by Gallery Moretti & Moretti-Paris). Theremynt is an electronic
experimentation inspired by various musical trends that they have in common such as: krautrock, space disco
and all kinds of progressive sounds, in addition with more dancefloor styles (acid-house, new beat, cosmic
disco). A SIDE *Silenzio* .. is an ethereal and synthetic track with italian vocals sung by Peel, sort of a tribute to
80's italian cosmic disco- followed by a remix by french artist Marc Lapeyre aka *The Fk Club*, a DJ- producer
from Marseille who released his first album in 2010. B SIDE *Mary & Johnny* .. is a cover of Robert Palmer's 80's
hit, Johnny & Mary, A more feminine version with Peel's featuring and rather energetic pop synth arrangements.
Dj producer *Julien Plaisir de France* has also provided two remixes, the first with a lot of chords and
arrangements, and a dub edit playing with vocals and glitches

NEW LABEL HOME AUDIO WITH A DEBUT RELEASE FROM YOUNG ITALIAN PRODUCER DAMICO MIXES FROM SLEAZY MCQUEEN & GIOM.

With two highly popular and praised EP's under its belt, The House of Disco label looks to continue its healthy diet of invigorating collaborations into 2012 with its third release, On The Latch.

The bar was seemingly raised by the celebrated Shoes Off EP, delivering four stunning tracks that featured on all of the noteworthy playlists from last year, and with expectations understandably high, On The Latch has yet again brought together some of the finest artistic talent around.

First up is 'Waves' by Norwegian dynamo The Treatment. After the success of his On & On EP, as well as an overflowing vat of remixes, in 2011, The Treatment is back to form with this flawless rework of Surface's 'Falling in Love', a surprising yet harmonious blend of Nu Disco, classic house chords and electro - a cerebral record that also highlights his instinctive side. We all love a piano riff too, of course.

Satin Jackets preserve their reputation for delivering infectious dance floor tracks with 'How Long Can I Wait For Your Love', producing echoes of Robin S' 'Show me Love', which it undeniably has shown and much more. With heavy influence from the likes of Madonna, Roxy Music and Trevor Horn, the trio looks certain to be fiddling with a number of immortal tunes throughout the year.

Roberto Rodriguez has been synonymous with the house revival, and his music is always anticipated with an air of intrigue and excitement. 'Mustat Vargot' takes you on a welcomed Old School house journey, starting off with heavy synths and bass, leading nicely into ambient beats and sounds. The track passes all of the familiar sites and sounds, yet still offers the senses something new, transporting you to the musical equivalent of utopia.

And to complete the pack, Debonair continues his steady ascent to the Nu Disco summit with 'Why' evidently living up to his nonchalant moniker with this stunning groove number. The rolling, soulful vocals add the substance, ensuring that Debonair maintains his laidback style. Certainly more than just a charmer...
