Names You Can Trust presents the debut single from Aillacara 2743. A Chilean-French, Multi-Instrumentalist and Turntablist, Aillacara 2743 cooks up two original Cumbias that build on the tradition of Andean, Amazonian, and Tropical rhythms with bass-heavy futuristic beats and dusty, distorted organs.
This release comes equipped with custom, vintage-style paper sleeves and original-flavor "jukebox" centers.

For its tenth release, Sharivari presents 'Nakama EP', another special project with 4 tracks from the land of the rising sun. UFO's acid jazz classic 'Somewhere' gets re-edited by the Serbian duo J-House, aka Jan Nemecek and Danilo Tomic, while Sapporo based
musician Kuniyuki Takahashi brings his usual deep and percussive vision of house music. On the flip, Rush Hour artist Haruki Matsuo
and Japanese techno legend Ken Ishii deliver 2 straight but warm & deep techno cuts. 300 copies pressed on marbled vinyl.

After the release of 'the Lost Tapes', Can's legacy has never felt more apparent than now, and Cyclopean brings together two giants from this legendary band, Jaki Liebezeit and Irmin Schmidt alongside long time collaborators Jono Podmore (Kumo / Metamono) and musician and producer Burnt Friedman.
As you might expect from the line-up, the four tracks are profoundly original and bursting with imagination. The title provides a metaphor for the music: Cyclopean forms are beautiful, massive and intriguing structures that interlock, intersect and connect seemingly contradictory components.
Cyclopean is the first time that Friedman, Liebezeit, Podmore and Schmidt have worked together.

Today we bring you the return of Atelewo (Osunlade & The Pasta Boys) with a classic follow up to the already well known label staple 'New Day'. This time we move a little further with a more percussive, brass driven soul song about what else but love. Infinity proves to continue with solid production and sound of the teams collaborative efforts. Sendai is a simple mood based groove honoring and acknowledging the loss in the tsunami of 2011. A simple gesture of remembrance this one adapts a local newscaster explaining the devastation and sorrow. As always we here at Yoruba hope that this new release not only starts the new cycle of 2013 off well, but that it brings forth a new direction. Enjoy!

Chile's Felipe Venegas first entered the Cadenza foray in 2009 when he co-produced the magnificent 'Llovizna EP' with Francisco Allendes. It was a magical house EP, full of warm summery grooves like its lead track 'Llovizna', which combined stunning sultry female vocals with a gorgeous deep melody. Venegas followed that up with the solo effort 'I Ching' last September, which featured two very different tracks - one driving mainroom house cut, and one deep and dirty afterparty sleaze bomb, so he is clearly a producer capable of many different shades of house. Now Venegas returns to Cadenza with perhaps his most daring EP yet. The title of the EP and its lead track, 'Ritmical Baco', comes from the name of a band from Santiago, which Venegas was once a part of. As he explains, 'I played guitar and keyboards for the band, and our sound was influenced by jazz and funk artists like Miles Davis, Joe Sawinul, Chick Corea, Return to Forever, and Los Jaivas, who were one of our most important influences.' You can feel that kind of raw improvisational band way on 'Ritmical Baco'. The groove is free flowing, and its beats flood the spectrum like a river that has burst its banks. Whilst the arrangement seems unbridled and wild at times, it never turns to mud, because Venegas is a skilled conductor at the helm of it all. The different rhythmical elements that he adds to the mix ebb into pleasing waves of harmony and peace. 'Ritmical Baco' is a colourful jungle of club sounds, but it also one that is carefully nurtured. The EP's second track, 'Orumila' is a traditional chant from South America, dressed up a modern structure that some might identify as the Cadenza house style. 'The chant is an ode to the black divinity, the god of renovation, hidden forces and change,' explains Venegas. The track is rather spooky in places, but it carries enough musical charm and warmth to convince you of its ultimately higher purpose. Transcendental, this could be, with the right, ahem, stimuli. F

We first came across Alejandro's mighty Callejero via a mix from his Cómeme chum, Diegors. Callejero's infectious hook stuck in our heads for days on end and after getting in touch, the talented Mr Paz happened to be sitting on a wealth of fresh sounding material which owes as much to House music from the streets of Chicago and South Africa's townships as it does his Latin roots.

Callejero opens with a devastating drum work out before giving way to the aforementioned catchy hook: It hasn't been billed as this years Township Funk for nothing. As the title suggests, the equally as contagious

Cumbia A Lo Lejos is a lesson in Latin rhythms set to warm your cockles.

With early support from Ivan Smagghe, Matias Aguayo, Joakim, Optimo (Espacio), Sinden and Auntie Flo amongst others.

This elegant house track has already been played by Raresh and Ricardo Villalobos since last summer and is still being played by the pair so far this year.

South American rhythms are melded to a stripped back Detroit aesthetic to appeal to fans of either, or both.

Compton is the second release from Discovery Recordings, who throw the monthly Discovery party in NYC. The parties residents and guests blend the lines of house, disco, and techno—and the label puts the vibe of their underground party to wax.

The EP comes from Chicago's Olin and Co. Processing. "Compton" kicks it off with hypnotic vocals made ready for the dance floor by an infectious rolling bass-line and filtered keys. "Oslo" is built on dueling arps and spacey percussion that together cultivate a swirling deepness. On remix duty, Glasgow's OOFT! delivers a dance floor ready rework with rooted in a chugging 303 and classic stabs, while Berlin's Nils Penner lays down a piece of work perfect for dimly lit rooms. As with the first Discovery release, they're hand stamped, vinyl only, and limited pressing.
