Ibadan announces the release of a new remix by Dennis Quin of Kerri Chandler & Jerome Sydenham ft. Troy Denari - You're In My System on vinyl in December, 2019.

Quin, a self-professed house addict and die-hard Kerri Chandler fan since the early nineties, had been searching for a new vocalist to work with. He turned to Simon Birkumshaw, label manager and A&R of Chandler's Madhouse Records, who recommended Troy Denari, the original vocalist of the classic Ibadan track "You're In My System". When Denari revealed that had just resung the vocals, Quin was inspired to remix the track.

Quin's aim with this remix was to update the track for his sets and give it contemporary production values in line with his current digital sets. "It's always tricky to put your hands on a huge record like this," he says. "It's a legendary track that everyone knows, so I was extremely careful in terms of mixing, timing, and all the rest." The result is a modern version of the classic that is very true to the original. At the same time, Quin makes his mark by bringing his own drum and percussion into the mix.

The remix versions cover all the bases for various digital distribution formats, including atmospheric dub, club and instrumental mixes, plus a special three-minute edit for Spotify.

Working together for the first time, the members of the musical team were excited to exchange their ideas. "Troy, Kerri, Jerome and I have gained so much out this intense collaboration. It has developed into a deep friendship that is all about house music, good vibes and pride in our achievements. Each of us is fulfilled by our individual roles in this project. I'm really proud to be part of this family."

Christine Pedersen, managing director of Ibadan Records, is excited about Quin's first release on the label. "It's always a pleasure to welcome new and talented collaborators into the fold. And I love the new vocal. Troy's singing brings a fresh spin to the track."

New York's indie disco freaks Phenomenal Handclap Band is back with a second single on Toy Tonics: Jail. With remixes by Detroit's Waajeed and Marcel Vogel of Lumberjacks in Hell. Including a club edit by Toy Tonics head honcho Kapote. The band was responsible for one of Toy Tonics' biggest tracks in 2018: Judge Not: The Ray Mang version became a hit on open minded dancefloors around the globe: with support from DJ's like DJ Harvey, Cassius and Gilles Peterson (who put it int his - best track of the year' list) but also more house DJ's like Berlin's Keine Musik Crew, Soundstream or Superpitcher. The band's members are kind of heroes to many connoisseurs of the funk/ disco scene. The band leader Daniel Collas was playing keys in Amy Winehouse legendary backing band. Other members are connected to Mark Ronson's crew or San Francisco's Stones Throw universe.. just to give u the bigger picture. With The Phenomenal Handclap Band they blend the unique vibe of 1970ies Power-Soul in the traditon of Charles Stepney and Rotary Connection with today's new disco vibe. At the forefront of the dance music landscape, DJ/Production duo and label heads, Catz"n"Dogz are well and truly in the driver"s seat of their musical journey. Starting out as close friends, the pair have risen to critical acclaim, leaving a lasting impression on the electronic music community with their honest productions and label releases;
spreading the love far and wide. With friendship as one of the main precursors to their success, they present a warming and emotional album channeling the intricacies of "Friendship" and relationships. Escaping to a wooden cabin in the Spanish countryside village, Cercedilla, which also shares the name of the opening album track, Greg and Voitek came together to create an album that re-wrote the Catz"n"Dogz history book. Known for their diverse style and ability to craft varying pace and rhythm, the duo sought out consistency with their "Friendship" LP to make an album in the truest sense; a long player to be listened to as one body of work. The 4x4 beat underpinning all music across the project, "Friendship" encourages listeners to be at one with themselves and enjoy their life; to go with the flow of highs and lows that come with it.
As a testament to the bond that has allowed Catz"n"Dogz to build and establish themselves, they invite a band of close friends and like-minded peers to collaborate on the album. Sharing the same name as their countryside escape, introductory interlude "Cercedilla", eases the listener in with warm notes and raw samples of running water taken from the cottage that became their home. "New Love" celebrates new possibilities and challenges that come throughout life; narrated with rumbling break-beat and euphoric synth lines. Big kicks and funky melodies in "This Feels Real", build anticipation for what is set to follow in the acidic elements of "Questions"; denoting the rollercoaster of emotion one can experience throughout the relationships we make. Hugging the listener with emotional piano chords, "Moments Turn To Hours" encourages the idea of being at
peace with oneself, acknowledging the long and hard times and allowing them to pass on by. Looking back to the Berlin days of Catz"n"Dogz, "Last Song For Berlin" summarises the decade they spent there. Celebrating the people and friendships they made and channeling the soulful side to a city so lauded for its darkness in the
Techno scene. Picking up with "Hedonic Treadmill" drum and bass elements, layered with emotive keys and uplifting soulful samples, see out the album with a sense of euphoria and hope for the future.

Borneo’s eighth release brings a sweet little five track compilation of eccentric and exotic electronica. All music is lovingly composed and constructed by the label’s family and close friends.

Ultrastation is the lovechild project of Cosmic Force and Nuno Dos Santos. Their Eau De Voodoo kicks this EP off with a fire starter made out of driving afro rhythms combined with mesmerizing vocal samples.

Phones On Fail Jah by Fader sees a quirky digital take on digidub. Centered around filtered chords, a deftly curated selection of melody and percussion is put through its paces.

The enigmatic Fizzy Veins poured his hart out on the song Handbrake. Guitar play over a subtle synth line, all sprinkled with fragile vocals that are almost drowning in the sea of echoes that lies underneath.

Rotterdam’s Nous’Klaer mainstay Mattheis has contributed V21. A stealthy weapon with synth driven melodies and electronic rhythms that are slowly morphing in and out of each other. This will hypnotize any dance floor.

Samo DJ closes the excursion with a remix. He handpicked OVFiets from the Borneo vaults, an unreleased techno work out by party crew Marck. Samo’s version brings the original in a more airy, wholesome and percussive state of mind.

Logic's 'Blues for you' is a stone cold underground classic. Period. 1994 NYC soulful house groove all up in your area. This is it. The real thing. Wayne Gardiner is a definite unsung hero of dance music, the majority of his productions leaving dancers and DJ's salivating and dancing non-stop. Across 4 different mixes Gardiner shows up the deadly art of simplicity, making all of the versions contained within essentials. Absolutely banging from start to finish. The vocal versions are soaring, the dubs are absolutely tearing, setting dancefloors alight from the Shelter to Club Coliseum. Another Strictly anthem right here, given some tasty 2019 remastering treatment and repressed onto a high quality, weighty 12" for all you record lovers out there, this one will keep them moving in the mix. Much has happened since Stereofysh released their debut album - The Race , which has been received very positively by music critics. Two years later, the latest output of the family band is available in the stores. Their second album is a very personal one. The sound of the album is not only inspired by their life in Berlin, but also their tour through the United States and Hawaii, where they introduced the album to an international audience. Important to know that the name of their new album, Ohana, is an essential part of the Hawaiian culture representing the importance of family and friendship connections, the company and coherence over generations. Stereofysh themselves describe that the album has lead them to their musical and familial roots in a very special way. Being on tour together, the shared experiences onstage and backstage have brought them closer together. Finn’s 2 B Real bootyque drop his killer 82 min vinyl edit of Tom Boogizm’s prized live introduction to mysterious G, Michael J Blood, originally broadcast on NTS, issued on sold-out tape, and now newly cut on 2LP with track markers for DJ navigation and primed for smoky lockdown bopping - think Manny’s answer to Moodyman, Urban Tribe or Theo Parrish!
Meticulously distilled by Finn from the original cult NTS show and its sought-after tape edition, it’s as much a showcase for Michael J. Blood’s rudely soulful production and his circle as the deadly DJ tekkers of Tom Boogizm and Finn’s edit chops. Since the origi9nal 2017 broadcast the mix has been coveted for its bounty of unreleased cuts - a mixture of rude ghettotech and smoky soul-sampling jams - and the way it was stitched together, on-the-fly by Wigan’s funkiest son Boogizm - whose recent Shotta Tapes editions have sold out in minutes.
Now prepped by Demdike’s Miles Whittaker and cut to vinyl at D&M, the project enters a rare sub-subgenre of mixtapes on vinyl, packing 20 mins per side, with track marks highlighting Blood’s most in demand numbers, and all juggled in a classic Chicago and Detroit-via-Manchester style ideal for settee slomping or lockdown house-party function.

Continuing to focus on quality output, the pair put forward their ‘Shuffling Words EP’ which aims to expand on their evolving style of house music.

Joe Danvers (aka Danvers) and Warren Cummings (aka Warren Xclnce) form a duo that through a mutual respect for each others musical tastes and prior successes, combine their influences into their own direction within electronic music. To date they chart continued support from the likes of Giles Peterson, Jamie XX, Detroit Swindle, Horse Meat Disco, Crazy P, DJ Seinfeld, Artwork, DJ Boring and many more...

The title track ‘Shuffling Words’, is a warm and soulful house joint characterised by a rolling bass and playful synths, delivering all the elements the duo have become known for. Next up is ‘Ex-Culture’ aligning more with Techno than their familiar House/Disco edits, this one is a clear progression in the duo’s production style which builds up to an enormous atmospheric climax and is designed for the dancefloors. Closing the EP is ‘U Make Me’. A rolling lofi house cut featuring an infectious reverberating vocal catching the ear throughout. This EP is set to kick start another strong year for Kassian, where they will aim to build on the successes of 2019.

Long Way Home is Fred Everything's 4th studio album, the first one on his own imprint, Lazy Days Recordings. After half a decade of wait, Berlin-based producer Douglas Greed makes his long-awaited return with 'Angst' - the 10-track followup to his 2014-on BPitch Control released album, 'Driven'. Fruit of a transitional period that's seen him go through all kinds of creative ups and downs, 'Angst' refers to the inherent ambivalence attached to the sentiment of fear. In Douglas' case, fear - though crippling at times - is also what makes him tick; the catalystic force that pushes him to outdo and reinvent himself so constantly. Born out of the hope to find that crucial innocence of his younger music-loving self again, 'Angst' finds Douglas brushing a ten-part tableau of warmly atmospheric, quietly nostalgic pieces, in the tradition of his previous releases for BPitch, Freude Am Tanzen, 3000 Grad et al - whether solo or under his parallel project YEAH BUT NO alongside Fabian Kuss and EATING SNOW with Mooryc. Infused with the refined pop sensibility that's become trademark to his sound, the album reels out a soul-fulfilling narrative that very much feels like a second wind; deftly swinging the pendulum betwixt sun-streaked melodies, transporting emotional crescendos and intricately woven textural membranes to lose yourself into. Starting off with the sense-awakening and supremely resilient electro-pop of 'Roll with the Punches', featuring Joy Wellboy on vocals, whose upcoming LP was co-produced by Douglas, the album alternates dynamic highlights - from the jazz & trip-hop-indebted 'The Taste of Dust' to the Border Community-esque trancey charm of 'Everybody Wants to Live in a Mansion' - and wistfully enticing cuts like 'The Few', 'Numbers‘ (both Songs with vocals by Odd Beholder) or the polyphonic chimes & brass-laden roller 'Random Groove'. As its title suggests, 'Angst' also cuts a wide window open into Douglas' bruises and introspective leaning, shining with maximal depth on the thoroughly intimate coming-out of 'Wie Man Unsterbliche Tiere Züchtet' and 'Fight For You', where day-to-day anxieties give birth to larger-than-life narrative arcs and corollas. The ironically airwaves-ready closer 'Not Afraid‘ with Joy Wellboy makes for the vanishing point of Douglas' full-length journey, but no ending to it by any means. It's a gift that keeps on giving.

Die zehn Songs sind das Ergebnis einer Periode persönlicher und kreativer Höhen und Tiefen. Der Titel des Albums bezieht sich dabei auf sein ganz eigenes ambivalentes Verhältnis zu „ANGST“. Denn obwohl ANGST manchmal lähmend sein kann, ist sie für Douglas Greed auch eine treibende Kraft, die ihn pusht und dazu bringt sich selbst neu zu erfinden und zu hinterfragen.

Das Album schließt an seine Veröffentlichungen für Freude Am Tanzen, Bpitch Control und 3000 Grad an und ist doch anders. Es ist der Versuch der Rückbesinnung auf das unschuldige Gefühl des Musik-Entdeckens – wie damals als junger Teenager. Und so haftet „ANGST“ eine gewisse Nostalgie und atmosphärische Wärme an, die man auch von seinen Projekten YEAH BUT NO (mit Fabian Kuss) und EATING SNOW (mit Mooryc) kennt.

Die poppige Handschrift Douglas Greeds, versteht es dabei ausgezeichnet Geschichten zu schreiben, die voller Herzblut sind. Erzählungen untermalt von herbstlich scheinenden Melodien, feinen Texturen und cleveren Höhepunkten.

Das Album startet mit dem sensibel unaufgeregtem Electro-Pop Schieber „Roll With The Punches“, welches die Vocals seiner Freunde von JOY WELLBOY featured, für die er auch deren kommendes Album co-produziert hat. Es folgen Höhepunkte verschiedenster Polaritäten: Vom jazzigen, triphopartigen Deephouse-Track „The Taste Of Dust“ über dem mit leicht süsslichen Geschmack von Trance versetztem „Everybody Wants To Live In A Mansion“ zu dem Indietronic-Songs „The Few“ und „Numbers“ mit ODD BEHOLDER oder der polyrhythmischen und von dröhnenden Bläsern durchzogenen Deephouse-Hymne „Random Groove“.

Douglas Greed verliert dabei das Thema „ANGST“ nie aus den Augen. Sie schwebt Melodien werfend über den Songs und schleicht sich in die zehn Geschichten. Ob als erzähltes Narrativ in „Wie man unsterbliche Tiere züchtet“ oder als zerbrechliches Bindeglied zwischen den Elementen wie bei „I Fight For You“ – die tägliche Portion Angst wird mit einem Löffel Zucker gereicht. Schließlich wird am Ende des Albums dann aber auch ganz präzise von Joy Wellboy klar gestellt „I’m Not Afraid“. Ein Album vor dem man keine Angst haben muss, es auf REPEAT laufen zu lassen!

Wrong Notes its really happy to bring Angela Tarrant alias Angel-A to the fam. We already saw her in the previous release by Vick Lavender,this time she leaves us an original one wich was reworked by the one and only Kai Alce who made up a dancefloor stuff following the true US soulful rules with the talented Chris Irvine on keyboards.
The other 2 version are made by the label's head Reekee who did his job with a more organic version on the Bside in collaboration with the jazz trumpetist Francesco Fratini and a second version which could make all people dance with a total analog drum groove.

Creating an album is a journey of self-knowledge through hindsight; putting together the tracks that will compose the oeuvre much like putting together a photo album. It involves looking back and undoubtedly reflecting over the memorable times that inspired each composition. That is definitely the case for Fejká, who released this year his album, Reunion. “The tracks on this album started to emerge from all different moments, feelings and mental states of my life during the last two years. They all have the same origin and purpose, to be fragments of my journey to find myself. Each song is a part of me,” says the German electronic music producer and visual artist.

Following his critically acclaimed 'Future Rhythm Machine' LP,
'Theory of Flo' is a bold step ahead from FRM, as it takes us on
the trip of a lifetime, spanning continents, genres, languages and
cultures to create a wholly unique listening experience, and one
which is only possible in 2015.
Teaming up with long term collaborator, Esa Williams, the album
also features collaborations with the incredible Ghanaian singer,
Anbuley (who last appeared on the Autonomous Africa hit
'Daabi'), Shingai Showina (of The Noisettes / Matthew Herbert /
Dennis Ferrer fame) and has experienced a lengthy recording
process between Havana, London and Glasgow - with outstand-
ing results.
'Theory of Flo' lands this November, in the meantime, his 'So In
Love' smasher and the spellbinding 'Waiting For A (Woman)' drop
on limited 10'..

Revered Danish producer and live performer KÖLSCH follows his 2013 hit album "1977" (KOMPAKT 276 CD 107) with the new full-length "1983", again chaining up heroic techno tracks for a grandiose sonic journey to the vibrant heart of today's dance floor. PRIORITY RELEASE

Coupling contemporary production pizzaz with nostalgia-tinged soundscapes and sweeping melodies, this opus acts as both a skilfully composed portfolio of personal memories and a sublime collection of crowd-charming cuts - a modern classic in the making, coming from a master of his craft.

1983 features collaborations with Gregor Schwellenbach, Waa Industry and WhoMadeWho's Tomas Høffding.

Hot on the heels of SPEICHER 84 (KOMPAKT EXTRA 84), featuring club crackers DERDIEDAS and TWO BIRDS, the latest full-length offering from KÖLSCH is very much a travel album: "When I was a kid in 1983, we used to drive through Europe every summer on the way to the south of France", he explains. "A lot of my early music memories stem from these long travels, as we would listen to all my father's favorite records on the cassette deck. After getting a walkman, I would make up my own soundtrack for travelling, with early electro and hip hop creeping into my life. My father of course did not like it, and it never grace the official cassette deck of the car, obviously"

These trips became a primary source of inspiration to a hungry young mind forced to sit on the backseat of a car for several days: "they were also journeys through the seasons. In Denmark, it would be spring time, so I could nearly see us driving through spring into the summer. The scenery would change, and so would the mood in the car." Informed by the symbolic quality of these slightly gauzy childhood memories, KÖLSCH's unique melange of emotional and functional elements works exceptionally well for the full-length format - a seamless transition of musing introspection and explosve expression, where catharsis never seems far away in dance-ready techno vignettes like MOONFACE, UNTERWEGS or PACER.

From beatless opener and title track 1983 to the filigreed piano banger DIE ANDEREN or the bleep-infused synth-fest E45, each cut operates as its own little time capsule, storing bits and pieces of recollection and then magically transforming them into epic, beat-driven soundscapes. Confronted with other producers' input (and other memories), these traits find themselves extended in the most interesting ways - TALBOT, THE ROAD and CASSIOPEIA (also featured on KOMPAKT EXTRA 79) make excellent use of GREGOR SCHWELLENBACH's emotive orchestral flourishes, while BLOODLINE's lyrics come to life thanks to the distinct timbre of TOMAS HØFFDING of WHOMADEWHO fame. A new powerful take on an earlier collaboration, PAPAGENO 30 YEARS LATER not only rejoins WAA INDUSTRY on vocal duty, but also ends the album on a wonderfully elegiac, yet hopeful note - basically turning water into wine, as we've come to expect from KÖLSCH.

Closing the a-side, Share the Love takes the tempo a bit higher and and shifts toward more club-friendly territories, houses goodness.

Turn that disc and get awake for I Know, a disco-edit piece with trace of french heritage and filter action. Lastly, Deep Inside takes us into a gentle profound dreamy state, moving more on the inside than with the feet.

Originally released in the year 2000, Sono – Keep Control is one of the defining dance tracks of this millennium. To mark the 20th anniversary of this classic track, ARTBAT now present their own version of the legendary tune.

The first track on the EP is ‘Continuum’, combining an ambient sensibility with deep house energy, an epic slow-burner which morphs into something quite spectacular as the groove moves on.
