while an instantly addictive melody references their new-
wave roots.

Our first release of 2012 has Seattle veteran 214 merging his classic electro style with current UK bass flavours to create a tantalising 4 track ep to wreck dancefloors and is already receiving support from Boddika, Girl Unit, Addison Groove, Bok Bok , Braiden, Dexter, Patrick Pulsinger, Speedy J and Appleblim.

The Dirty Dutch! Anticlub a notorious collective from Eindhoven, the Southern capital of Holland, was inspired to push itself into a new direction. The inspiration came from a painting by an old lady that drew the attention and gave the impulse to create the album 'Freaks and Followers'.

We are very pleased to present you the 3rd Deep Circus record! Right at the start of summer, Benny Grauers original - Moog Phunk' gets released, and will certainly be heard at various open air parties this year. The Moog sound, beginning at the middle of the track, goes instantly into your ears and brain and makes this deep tune very unique. Besides the groovy B-side - The Eagle has landed', the record also contains two Remixes by Pär Grindvik and Aemkay. While Aemkay´s version is putting the original track into a more minimalistic perspective, Grindvik hits us with his dark technoid version in the well-known Stockholm style. Enjoy!

Fledgling duo, Climbers are at the helm of this impressive release. Based in the city of Mexicali, part of the Mexican Baja California - a mere 3-hour drive from Los Angeles and much closer to it in ethos - the fast-rising production team deliver their very first ever EP of original material, 'Law of Attraction,' with poise, brimming with confidence and infectious energy, unburdened by expectation. On the basis of this strong debut statement, Climbers - aka Jay Blakk and Kiko Deal - stand on the verge of an enormously promising future in dance music. Indeed, their follow-up EP has already been snapped up by the terrific Nurvous label and Climbers will continue to figure prominently in Culprit's 2012, with their second EP for the Los Angeles imprint already in the works

Like most of Culprit's releases, 'Law of Attraction' is a natural outgrowth of long-term artist nurturing. From the very first demos sent to the label in late 2010 to the four superb tracks on this EP, Climbers and Culprit worked intently on focusing the young artists' style and quality of music to both suit the label's sensibility and deliver the strongest possible statement for the new producers.

The four songs that make up 'Law of Attraction' are all deeply rooted in US soul music: from Motown references on 'All Right' to disco- and vocal deep house touches on 'Losing You,' to 'Go With the Flow' that's bursting with smooth R'n'Binfused electronic funk and more ominously melodic 'OWS.' Bold and brash basslines, definitive electro pulse and memorable vocal hooks unify the EP. This is the sound of young talent first uncovering their musical potency and revelling in its possibilities. Culprit are excited to provide the springboard for the new boys in town - Climbers.

2x12" in White Vinyl! Girl Unit returns with a double EP of his most advanced material yet. In true NS style we present 6 brand new transcendental club tracks from the super-hot producer. Vinyl edition on 2 x white 12".
The Club Rez EP consists of two halves. The first is informed by lead cut "ENSEMBLE" - a mechanised Freestyle party track / robotic beach jam comprised of machine drums, Pulse bass and glossy John "Jellybean" Benitez-inspired breakdowns. The balance between pop sensibility and dancefloor bomb here is unparalleled.
"CAKE BOSS" is a bull-headed tantrum in the club. A relentless blunt stabbing lead delivers punishment as rimshots clatter and toms jack around the 4x4 kick, the whole thing saturated in tape FX.
A subway ride downtown leads to the "PLAZA", another Freestyle-influenced cut, sort of a trackier, loop-driven cousin of "Ensemble". Pro-1 horns and arping bass trade places with stripped back segments of rubbery, efficient drum funk.
The tone for the EP's second half is set on with "DOUBLE TAKE", a cantankerous track that takes some drum programming cues from the Bay Area. As the hydraulics of the intro give way to the drop, the track is engulfed in gloopy bass hits and bubbling oily globules of leads to devastating effect. At the end the track segues into what GIrl Unit describes as a preview of "Double Take 2", fading out on an unexpected sublime moment.
"REZDAY" (or Rezzurection Day), a relative of the EP's title track, is a sports action movie theme, built and reinforced for conflict. Colossal synth horns and layers of guitar synths are driven forward by extreme metal-style pedal kicks as pterodactyls scream and fireworks fizz overhead.
Finally, "CLUB REZ". The crisp digital environment is quickly filled with searing beams of trance synths, growing to an overwhelming size before dropping out to a huge 808 kick pounding the track rhythmically (hence the 'Club' in the title). "Club Rez" echoes Girl Unit's previous work, but it's executed with such light-touch restraint, the results are truly euphoric.

If you like the sound of "cheap" analog synthesizers from the mid 80s, drum machines and strangely pitched human voices this might be the record for you. A small warning about the quite melodic and poppy arrangement, it is not minimal, nor pure drones. Sorry. Estelle EP has nothing to do with the car äkoda Estelle, even though some instruments used on the songs were produced during the same years. Estelle EP is more or less a result of the new Kranglan Broadcast hardware studio environment. The plan was simple: to get rid of the machines that were not being used and to make the rest communicate with each other. This resulted in some very fine jams where realtime feelings and spontaneous ideas were converted into music. Each track is its own moment in time.

Iron Curtis - Soft Wide Waist Band (Text: Gerd Janson) As we all know, there is a first time for everything. In this case, it's even a debut for both: the Tensnake co-run label Mirau and Iron Curtis. 'Soft Wide Waist Band' is Curtis' entrance into the world of long players and the first of its kind for the Hamburg imprint that fittingly put the producer on the map with his 'Solgerhood EP' in 2009. Three years and a string of releases on Retreat, Kolour, Mule Electronic, remixes for Jacob Korn, Ripperton or Mano Le Tough and a move to Berlin later, Johannes Paluka alias Iron Curtis has matured enough as a producer to take on the heavy burden of a 'house music' album - if you want to call it like that at all.

Audiotrix keeps on digging for a newskool Techno, electro, thick and groovy. The wake of the beast !

'Aura Go' rises, opens, rouses not unlike a soft light growing to illumination, a day slowly revealing itself. Synths whisper and ring out - like bells marking an early hour - at the start, followed by a succession of other awakenings: a palpitating beat, vocalizations that repeat like undulations, percussive poundings and ringings. It all leads to full on, acid-infused, dance floor hypnosis, with producer Dennis 'DJ' McNany pushing polyrhythmic, almost tribal beats to the very front. With the addition of husky vocals from collaborator Jee Young Sim - imagine Siouxsie Sioux crossed with Planningtorock - the sound becomes something altogether, and altogether unexpectedly, gorgeous.

Run Roc's Whisper Dub is a more intense revision of the Jee Day original. While the first version of the track achieves its enthralling propulsion through the melding of so many disparate sounds, Roc's version achieves greater alarm with the addition of elements in a higher register. The effect is a song that feels both tauter and slightly more dense than in its first incarnation. Despite the hushed singing that leads off the track, the fiery feel of the music makes the 'Whisper' in the title seem nominally deceptive.

After a two-year break, Detroit producer and wayward star-child Jimmy Edgar debuts on Scuba's Hotflush Recordings armed with an album full of futuristic sleaze. Known for his unique take on jacking house and electro funk, he's recently been splitting his time between the US and Berlin, exploring transcendental meditation and the boundaries of the non-physical. This offering is an extension of that journey, bringing eleven tracks of erotic robo-pop to the table. Titled Majenta, this LP is a departure from his past sound, marking a shift in his own ever-expanding consciousness, as well as another exciting chapter of his musical career.Each track is an aural manifesto, giving well-deserved nods to his varied musical influences. Close encounters with Detroit legends Derrick May and Juan Atkins, Jimmy's 2004 signing to Warp Records, and his early exposure to Kraftwerk have all acted as lynchpins in the cultivation of his sound. With a number of releases on Glasstable, Semantica, Nonplus and long player releases on both Warp and !K7, Majenta reflects Jimmy's evolution as both artist and child of the cosmos.According to Edgar, the making of the album was steeped in countless synchronicities, continuously reminding him he was on the right path. In contrast with his last LP, XXX, for !K7, which took five years to make, Majenta is more raw, more spontaneous and in his words, 'more futuristic ... than my other music, which played a lot with retro, especially R&B.' From the outset, Jimmy's flexing his Kraftwerkian muscle, with vocoder complimenting his own unadulterated voice and '80s synthlines bubbling away alongside jazz-funk keyboard riffs. From the raunchy and sexually explicit 'Take Me on a Sex Drive' ('windows down, legs up high') to the low-lit, hypnotic feel of 'Attempt to Make it Last', to the UK garage rhythms of 'Let Yrself Be', to the Kiss-era Prince vibe of 'I Need Your Control', it's clear that the postmodern is Edgar's domain. The Frampton-esque vocals of 'In Deep' close out the LP and further cement his enviable place in the intergalactic community.Spring/Summer 2012 will see Jimmy playing a number of live shows across Europe and the US in support of Majenta (including major festivals such as Glade, UK), as well as his continued exploration into the world of LEDs and synchronized light technology.

To try to label John Roman is to date yourself - the reclusive producer/DJ whose appetite for innovative music is exceeded only by his obsession for creating it. At 22, his original tracks "Sala" and "Petrified" have already graced Laidback Luke's BBC Radio1 Essential Mix and Brodinski's Fabriclive60 CD, respectively. With additional supporters ranging from Riton, Sinden, Fake Blood, Harvard Bass and even Skrillex, its hard to imagine a sound so unique and widely appealing if you haven't heard it already. Raw, rhythmic, sample-heavy and instantly danceable - Roman's music cuts straight to the bodies on the dancefloor and the mind of the listener. At once a rejection of the mainstream's neon hedonism and the elitist underground's critical constraints, Roman channels the angst and aggression of youth with the sophisticated wisdom of a veteran househead. It's this rare combination that's earned him official remixes for Crookers, Sinden, Defected - and of course also Sound Of Stereo (Quartz, from the Mineral EP). We're very happy to be able to present a full EP from him now on Lektroluv. With such an amazing sound, this guy is gonna be big in no time, mark our words!!
