Young Turks clearly believe that Tahlilah Barnett, formerly known as Twigs (hence the FKA Twigs pseudonym) is a star in the making. They plucked her from obscurity last year and have since released a number of highly regarded singles. This debut album expands on her EPs to date, showcasing her woozy, intricate take on post-R&B. Naturally, her vocals - fragile and evocative, sounding not unlike Kate Bush on occasions - take centre stage, riding a bed of layered-up head-nodding rhythms, post dubstep grooves, trip-hop soundscapes, fizzing electronics and bubbling synthesizers. It's an intoxicating brew, all told, and one that delivers further proof of Barnett's immense potential.

Tracy Hamlin, a Baltimore, Maryland native, has been sharing her Jazzy R&B vocals with the world for over twenty years. A former pageant winner, holding the title of Miss Baltimore and Miss Talented Teen of Maryland, Tracy draws inspiration for her music from her life experiences and those who surround her. She has performed with music greats such as Carlos Santana, Chaka Khan, Grace Jones, Marcus Miller, Jonathan Butler, Kirk Whalum, and Esperanza Spaulding to name a few. In recent years, Hamlin was the lead vocalist with Heads Up International recording artists, Pieces of a Dream. Tracy toured internationally with the group and was featured on 'No Assembly Required' and 'Love's Silhouette'. Tracy currently tours with Disco Diva, Gloria Gaynor as the lead background singer.

One of Tracy's first experiences on the soulful dance scene was in 2001 as the featured vocalist on Stacy Kidd's "He Is the One" - a Basement Boys collaboration. Tracy continues to tour internationally and showcase her unquestionable talent as a solo artist. Since teaming up with DJ Spen in 2012, Tracy continues to celebrate a string of successful singles on Quantize Recordings, which naturally resulted in her 'Home' LP, beautiful fit on the label. Her album fuses the boundaries between Soul, Jazz, R&B and House music, making 'Home' an exceptional showcase of what Tracy Hamlin represents.

'Bassballs' kicks things off, as we're caught partying with a few stray members of Maze at the beach bar, effected vocals and synth bass paired up with euphoric key rises, sax and piano elements to provide a magnificent groove.
On the flip, 'Bees' lands us in more familiar Begin territory, acoustic strums work under a meandering synthline, as string and plucked piano pick out the melodic phrases perfectly.

Finally 'Drop' is a symphony of mesmerising arpeggios & synth washes, hotter than the midday sun

Coma has the capability of creating emotive, highly recognizable music that is as much pop as it is techno.

Tender Games is the brand new project between BBC Radio 1 Future Star Marlon Hoffstadt and HRRSN, head of the Berlin-based Well Done! imprint. Both established producers in their own right, they've shifted their sonic-palette away from house-based sounds to create an LP that has all the makings of a future soul classic.

Oozing with rich harmonies and warm grooves, the Tender Games sound is much more indebted to the UK club scene than to the darker, heavier timbres their hometown Berlin is associated with. By deliberately going against the city's status-quo of technoid bleeps-and-squeaks, this album represents not just an artistic expression but a mission statement of sorts.

The duo's disparate influences have come together to create a distinctive new sound; the 20 yearold Hoffstadt's house leanings are prominent, whilst HRRSN has drawn from garage, blues and even folk. The album came together over the space of a year or so in the enviably decked-out studio of fellow Suolmates Chopstick & Johnjon, and features a wealth of guest vocalists and live instrumentation courtesy of HRRSN. The finished result is one which sounds lush, organic, and most of all, fresh.

Your Perception' makes album's cultural alignments quite clear, kicking things off with a classic British 2-step garage beat, vocal chops and a searing synth lead which sets the tone for the rest of the LP. In 'Lost', the listener is eased in with a delicate Rhodes motifs, before breaking into HRRSN's soulful croon in its majestic glory for the first time.

'Make Believe' ups the tempo with inspiring vocal performances from Yvy Coe and Stee Downes, the latter of which is better known as the voice behind Lovebirds' now seminal underground classic 'Want You In My Soul'.
'Want It All's bumping house beat takes things out of the lounge and firmly into dancefloor territory, with New Jersey chord stabs and swung garage drums. After reaching a steadily controlled crescendo, 'In Her Bed' slams on the brakes for an unexpected, all-out blues ballad, complete with a delicately smoky vocal performance from Miss NatNat.
The stripped-back bedtime lull of the album's opening single 'In A Mess' again features HRRSN's haunting vocal performance, along with twinkling, lustrous Rhodes piano chords and warm bassline.
'City Lights' carries itself with a spacious lope and hot-blooded sensual swagger, with impassioned lyrical content which makes for heady listening. The album is rounded off by the whomping bass of 'Freak In The Sheets', underpinned by the vocal talents of Forrest who is known for his previous excursions on Visionquest, 2020Visions and mobilee.
All in all, whilst comparisons to the likes of Disclosure and their ilk may be expected, the myriad of different styles touched upon in Distinctions demonstrate a versatility that gives Tender Games a sound all of their own. And when the music is this good, who could help but excited

JT Donaldson and Adam Pickrell (White Lotus Society) team up with Zimbabwean artist Hati Monetsi to create a unique work entitled 'Ceremony'. Spoken in her native tongue of Shona, Hati pens a passionate tribute to loved ones who have passed while JT and Adam frame her words with their elegant, deep musical production.

2014 is the 10th anniversay of the San Francisco based producers 40 Thieves releasing their frst EP and now they come through with their debut album 'The Sky Is Yours' for Leng Records.Core members Layne Fox, Corey Black & Jay Williams call on their bevy of friends to contribute to the group's diverse sonic smake up. Travis 'TK' Kirschbaum was a
co-founder and key contributor and local best buds Qzen, Alona, Rita Mazlan, Jason 'JP Soul' Peters, Chris MacGrew, Masahiko Kiritani, Dave Dick, Victor Critchfeld, Colin Klingman, Dave Kurzman and Larry Hamilton have all played various roles in past and current productions. Over the years 40 Thieves have connected with likeminded labels including Rong Music
and Permanent Vacation to release a small handful of original singles and EP's. One in particular, 2008's 'Don't Turn It Off,' caused such a commotion it wound up on a few
dozen CD compilations and was voted Best of the Decade by Beatport in 2010. Over the next few years the Thieves had the chance to remix great artists including Kid Creole
and the Coconuts, Gary 'Chocolate Star' Davis, Plastique De Reve, and Johnny Dynell. Whether they're creating cosmic odyssey soundscapes or lazy mutant house, 40
Thieves like to interweave live instrumentation with programmed electronics, their sound would be equally at home at the Mudd Club circa 1983 or in the headphones of an Ibiza
beachgoer circa 2083. Whether slack or upbeat, 40 Thieves always aim for the head as well as the foor. The Sky Is Yours will be released on two separate gatefold double LP's each containing 10 tracks.Essential!

Disclosure return on 25th March with new single 'White Noise', featuring vocals from Aluna Francis. The single premiered on Radio 1, as Zane Lowe's Hottest Record In The World.

With the infectiously saccharine vocals of Aluna riding over an elasticated beat that harks back to the halcyon days of acid rave, 'WhiteNoise' follows the amazing success of Disclosure's last single 'Latch', which was a-list at Radio 1, 1Xtra and Kiss, peaking at number 11 in the UK charts, staying in the top 30 for 15 weeks and going silver (sales in excess of 250,000). 'Latch' also notched up several number one spots in the iTunes' Electronic chart across Europe and went Gold in Australia.

After AlunaGeorge supported Disclosure at their sold-out-in-a-minute show at Brixton's Plan B late last year their mutual admiration for each other's music resulted in 'White Noise', which will feature on their upcoming debut album, due for release in early summer.
