Die Krautrock-Nachzüglerband Circles, bestehend aus Mike Bohrmann und Dierk Leitert, trat erstmals 1983
in Erscheinung. Und damit zu einem Zeitpunkt, als Krautrock bereits in die Bedeutungslosigkeit versank und
sich für Veröffentlichungen weniger bekannter Projekte kaum mehr ein Vertrieb finden ließ. Darunter litten
auch Aufnahmen von Circles: Wegen mangelnder Erfolgsaussichten verschwanden einige ihrer Songs
unveröffentlicht in der Schublade. Bis jetzt, denn für "Structures" wurde dieser Schatz gehoben. Das
"Unreleased Material 1985-1989" ist geprägt durch elektronische Tasteninstrumente sowie Gitarrenklänge
und bewegt sich im Fahrwasser von Cluster und Popol Vuh. So kam unter anderem der Korg Trident zum
Einsatz, ein noch heute hochgeschätzter Analog-Synthesizer, der als Besonderheit eine String- und eine
Brass-Sektion mitbringt. "Für die warmen, fetten Flächen und Harmonien im Oberton- und Bassbereich", wie
sich Mike Bohrmann erinnert. Außerdem gab es einen monophonen Analog-Synth im Space-AgeIndustriedesign: den Moog Source, für manche der schönste Synthesizer aller Zeiten. Aus diesem
Instrumentarium entwickelten Circles eine Art experimenteller Ambient-Endzeit-Musik, die heute aktueller als
zum Zeitpunkt ihrer Entstehung klingt.

So when it actually happened, it was gratifying to learn that a) the label's braintrust wasn't crazy and b) the rest of the world isn't completely out to lunch. With support from Annie Mac, Erol Alkan, Heidi, Diplo, Damian Lazarus, Martyn, Soul Clap, A-Trak and a legion of other big names, plenty of radio play on BBC One, and rave reviews from critics, the track has taken on a life of its own, spending numerous weeks in Beatport's Deep House Top 5.

With this in mind, the label decided to go with its instincts for the remix pack, sticking with some of its best and most exciting in-house talent while also including a respected outsider.

Turbo boss Tiga turns the Lifestyle Machine up to 11, before snapping the knob off completely with a seven and a half minute epic that is possibly even more anthemic than the original. Turbo obsessives might have noticed that this is only Tiga's second remix for the label since 2005 - after Azari & III's similarly huge "Reckless (With Your Love)" - offering even more evidence of just how significant a release this is for us.

With releases on Hotflush, Rush Hour, and Numbers, Lando Kal has been pushing his sound more and more into the realm of gear-based Detroit-influenced techno. His version of "The Giver" continues in this vein, a tripped-out after-hours workout that's destined to become the highlight of your next warehouse party.

Toronto's Gingy & Bordello are undeniably two of Turbo's most promising rising stars, with a career path seemingly taken out of some fantastic DJ/production duo storybook. Their mix ramps up the BPM and takes things into big-room techno territory. The arrangement is long and strong, and the payoff near the end is subtle and retains the essential ecstatic tone of the original while doing away with the commercial angle. Let Gingy take you on a journey, and then let Bordello take you on a journey. It's the same journey, but still.

A devastating peak time weapon where KUSUMA uses siren sounds, a ruthless rhythm section, intoxicating synths, samples and effects to create a colossal track. Karamika is a duo formed by Black Merlin aka George Thompson and Gordon Pohl from Music Cargo. Things start off in the most unassuming manner, when opener SHY GRASS lives up to its name and gently introduces a few fleeting chords to what sounds like the recording of casual child banter. It's a soothing, unadulterated chill-out vibe greeting the listener, followed by new age gem LOS PENSIAMENTOS and an aerial, highly immersive revamp of BLOND:ISH's classic club cut LUCY'S AFFAIR. Smaul 12 is in remembrance of Fred Britzger, a libertine and friend, who went on the other side in 2012.
- Farewell Fred' by Acid Pauli respectfully reminisces about time spent together with a friend. This track might already be heard, since it was digitally released on Crosstown Rebel - Get Lost V'. However, it's worth to us to release it on vinyl again in this proper context. - For Fred' by The Brothers Teichmann reveals a pretty dubby piece of history, as father Teichmann and Fred Britzger both play in the track for a certain mood.

Wild Oats is proud to present the KMFH debut album The Boat Party. After a year of collaborative releases, Kyle Hall, under the alias KMFH, has produced a debut album; a fusion of original work, sample tracks, and raw edits. The Boat Party album artwork pokes fun at European summer boat parties and juxtaposes the destitute state of Detroit and its recent proneness to discarded luxury in financial crises. Mainly, the inability to leave and the sometimes pleasant isolation of a boat party is what the album exudes. The listener has a certain commitment to the material which definitely has its place on the dance floor. You can find tracks that have soulful, funky, and organic feels, while others have a more abstract, mechanical, and robotic sentiments. The Boat Party was carefully constructed which makes the album a cohesive mix of soulful etherealness and roughly raw sounds; KMFH's cueing into the true aspects of Detroit.

As the waning of the final winter moon comes to an end, Chapter 24 enters the world of wax with its first 12-inch release. For this next story in sound, we welcome back Kurt Baggaley, whose wonderful 'Winterland' also receives the attentions of Patlac and Petar Dundov with two immaculate Editions.

The EP has been in the hands of a chosen few since the summer, and has already been played by Âme, Solomun and H.O.S.H. at some of the world's biggest festivals. To be released on vinyl only, this package is one not to be missed.

An artist who lives and breathes electronic music culture, Kurt Baggaley has evolved his productions into a unique and personal sound since his early days as the Electro artist Scape One. Taking in influences from early 80's Chicago House, Detroit Techno and New York Club, with a fusion of Italo Disco, Euro Synth and Electro, his huge Former Self EP on SoHaSo in Spring 2015 was met with widespread acclaim on both digital and physical formats. Supported by the likes of Michael Mayer and Dixon, it was followed up with his debut release on Chapter 24 a few months later, opening the book with his Spiral EP.

Winterland continues this momentum. The title track blows in a cold, enveloping wind of analogue synths and drum machines, swirling around a central arpeggio. Disco, minimal and electro influences are clearly to be heard in what amounts to a unique and compelling piece of electronic music.

Patlac takes the reins for the first Edition. With original releases on liebe*detail and Soulfooled and remixes for Pets Recordings, Noir and Musik Gewinnt Freunde, his music possesses an empathy for time, people and place. Retaining some of the disco influence of the original, this sensitive and thoughtful approach results in an energetic Edition driven by pushing rhythms and deep, powerful grooves, but also with a refined sense of harmony and melody.

The final Edition on the package is a fitting one, from Croatian maestro Petar Dundov, who occupies the flip side. Dundov makes intelligent electronic music that breaks boundaries. His breathtaking take on the original embodies this ethos, hitting home with body twisting beats while also challenging the mind with complex melodies and slow-burning, hypnotic progressions. In his masterful hands, the track takes on life of its own, forever evolving and expanding and increasing in intensity.

With the Winterland EP, Chapter 24 turns the page on its first volume of releases, closing the Aesop's Fables artwork series with a stunning linocut portrayal of 'The Wolf and the Crane' from in-house artist Simon Vaeth. The lessons from Aesop will make way for those of the Tarot, as the Book of Changes continues to shine a light on the wintry path ahead.
