Anunnaki Cartel is up next with another release from label co-owner Chris Mitchell. This is his follow up to the Din Gir Dialectic EP that was released last year. Still rummaging around in the general field of dance music, but now with a touch more avant-garde on their palette. The faceless entity that is the Free Arts Band introduces us to the simple idea of bringing a drum machine to art school. Infused with the creative space of the white-painted studio, a healthy dose of post-modernist pondering and the depth of traditional lineage, these four jams seem oddly timeless. Each of them riding on the verge of reductionism, they seem to ask: how funky can this get with as limited means as possible
Opening track "Cool Grey" offers synthesized new age jazz with some sundazed guitars, while "KADK" strips everything down to their primal elements and lets the rhythms do the talking, pierced occasionally by a woozy keyboard figure that perfectly mimics the gestures of someone walking in on the wrong party.
With lo-fi gloom, the heavyweight of the E.P. that is "Inhouse" rolls along on a beat that gently approaches the aesthetics of a West Coast low rider cruising track.
Closing the cycle is a sequel to its opening track, and walks you out into a Japanese garden of British new wave guitar twang and brightly colored Badarou-style synths.

Shackleton's most expansive, ecstatic and hallucinatory music to date. Four longform pieces developing the free-flowing compositional aesthetic of his recent Deliverance series and Powerplant performances: fiery rhythmic-melodic turbulence channeling Congotronics way to the east — with an aura of restrained mania reminiscent of the feral pomp and gallows humour of Coil's moon-musick phase — all earthed by dubwise bass.

The pairing with Tomasini — whose history spans experimental theatre, cabaret and collaborations with Julia Kent and David Tibet, among many others — is a match made in heaven. With his four-octave voice swooping from deep growl to piercing falsetto, Tomasini's presence both heightens the taste for the theatrical that's always been integral to Shackleton's music, and makes explicit the latter's kinship to the occult energies of the UK's post-industrial underground.

As the title suggests, these are shadowy songs rich with allusions to bodily ritual and psychic exploration, with Tomasini's lyrics framed by luminous whirls of hand-struck drums and synthetic gamelan, bells and tumbling organ melodies. You Are The One escalates from delicate choral chant to full-bore psychedelic organ freakout, Rinse Out All Contaminants is a slow incantation, to purge all negative thoughts, the melodies of Father You Have Left Me are smudged like early Steve Reich, then burned out by snarling subs, and the magnificent Twelve Shared Addictions balances elliptical melodies like spinning plates, gradually unfurling into a breakneck storm of

After Silenzio and Robotique de l'Amour- in french, Vampiros Discos is Theremynt's third Ep- an electronic journey in Portuguese-tribute to Horror Brazilian Filmmaker Ze do Caixao and all the vampires movies that have accompanied us as teenagers such as Dracula and the Likes. Somewhere between dirty house, krautrock and deviant techno, it is an uplifting track made for the dancefloor . The three remixes are following the track's original path pushing it to its edges: Andrew Claristidge from Acid Washed has given an interesting version both deviant and cinematographic, the Club Bizarre duet is offering a more techno version with obsessive bells while legendary techno producer David Carretta is immerging us into a new beat and rather technoish hypnotic tune. The result is a perfect DJ tool -worth trying on the dance floor in the middle of the night.

This is the second in our planned trilogy of Junto Club EPs. If the first was the birth of the Junto Club, this is the middle-aged existential crisis.
We've followed the same ethos as the first EP, allowing the music to develop organically rather than being restricted by considerations of genre. Naturally, this was shaped by our experiences of the first EP.
While the first EP developed through our experimentation with new sounds behind closed doors, this EP was the result of our attempts to retrospectively understand those creations and the interpretations of others. These reflections were mixed with our reimagining of those discoveries and our experiences of their live performance.
Warm Me Up is not the same as the Junto Club EP because those virgin sessions can never be recreated. Nor should they be. This is the middle aged existential crisis of the Junto Club. And we hope you enjoy dancing to it.

Moderna & Theus Mago met in Mexico a day of "Ley Seca' (when the Mexican government shot all bars and clubs down the entire weekend for voting purposes). Kim Ann Foxman realigns her vision as a producer in a welcome return to her own New York based Firehouse Recordings label with her 'It's You That Drives Me Wild EP ' Kim Ann Foxman featured in Pitchfork's 7 Best Mixes of May 2016 Kim Ann Foxman Fact Mix June 2016.

The title track spins an intoxicating groove over Kim Ann's vocals full of desire and lust, while 'Give It All You Got' fuses raw energy and dextrous percussion through her confident, evocative words. The mood suddenly becomes much tougher during ' Magic Window ' wrapping up the latest offering from New York's finest lady of electronic music.

Since creating Firehouse Recordings in conjunction with The Vinyl Factory two years ago, Kim Ann has released sporadically on her label, resulting in only highly thought­out and credible music from the imprint. A long standing figure in the New York dance scene, Kim Ann has remixed The XX and collaborated with Anthony Simoncino ´s alias Ron Jason. A regular at Panorama Bar, she continues to tour relentlessly with her high voltage signature style that is both remarkably original and infectious.

Modek has been busier than ever since the release of his 'Haunt' EP on Lektroluv - that got played by everyone from Digitalism and Mixhell over Cassius to Boris Dlugosch and Porter Robinson.

'Clown In My Kitchen' is the title track of his 6th release on Lektroluv. The least you can say is that it doesn't sound like so many other tracks, Modek has his own sound and never compromises.

Berlin based label Vortex Traks is brought to life with the release of their first EP. Mesak kicks things off with high energy electro funk which is followed by a flight across the galaxy piloted by Jeremiah R. Flipside goes deeper, with Matti Turunen delivering a dubby acid flavored electro cut. Automatic Tasty finishes things off with a magnificent track featuring an addictive bassline and some very emotive chords.

Fader. The release represents another milestone in Robot Elephant's mission to nurture innovative and
sometimes challenging electronic music talent.

Robert Witschakowski takes a break from rewiring the rules of electro with his prolific The Exaltics project to deliver the eerie soundtrack album, 'Acanthosaura'. Working with Nico Jagiella - with whom he co-runs the Solar One label - the pair have created the soundtrack for a world of flickering shadows, dark ambient textures and ominous bass tones. It's the first Crotaphytus release in six years and according to Witschakowski, a project stemming from his love of reptiles and movie soundtracks. Like previous Crotaphytus releases on Solar One, 'Acanthosaura' is a deeply atmospheric affair. With each track title a reference to different types of lizards, from the death-paced drums of Cyclura Cornuta' to the slow-motion ebm-disco groove of Xenosaurus Platyceps' and the murderous subs of Caiman Latirostris". In between, the dark ambient passages of Conolophus Subcristatus' and Amblyrhynchus Cristatus' as well as nods to The Exaltics' spaced out electro in Iguana Delicatissima". However, Robert insists that the album remains true to the project's ethos. Crotaphytus is always dark and haunting. The project has no rules and that gives us the total freedom to make everything with it. I make also different styles with The Exaltics, but I have a concrete vision every time. With Crotaphytus, we let it flow and see were we land at the end. For this album, we tried to create an atmosphere like you are in a deep jungle, chased by giant lizards. Ambient has really the power to transport feelings. I guess this is subliminal in us from watching films.

Axodry was the duo of Andreas Talla 2XLC" Tomalla and Ralf "Ra/Hen" Henrich, who formed in Frankfurt, Germany in 1982. The two met at City Music record store where Talla 2XLC worked, supplying the local DJ scene with dance 12's. From 1984 to 1991 they released six maxi 12' singles. Both members were leading figures in the European electronic scene during the 80's and 90's, forming bands like Bigod 20, Tribantura, Micro Chip League, Moskwa TV, Pluuto and Robotiko Rejekto.

In 1988 they released the maxi 12' single You' on ZYX Records/Combeat. Influenced by Depeche Mode, Gary Numan and John Foxx, the duo crafted high impact Industrial, Synth Pop and Electronic Body Music. Their basic set up for recording at RaHen's home studio was a Moog Rouge, Roland SH-101, Teisco synthesizer, Linn Drum and Fricke sequencer. Ra/Hen performed dramatic vocals, which tell of a lost love found in dreams. Included here are the Beauty & The Beat Mix and the Beasty Dub Mix from the 1988 single. On the flip is the Razormaid Remix, performed by Art Maharg and Joseph Watt, that originally appeared on the "Welcome To The Technodrome' compilation in 1989. Also included is Mechanic', originally released in 1991 as the B-side for their final single Losing You'.

All songs have been remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The record comes in a sleeve featuring the original black and blue cover art with hand-painted typography by Dr. Draw, The Gruesome Grapholoic. Each copy includes a postcard with with notes. The pair will also embark on a short UK tour starting on 1st September, and including an appearance at Festival No.6 on 3rd, before they play London's Kamio Club (formerly Red Gallery) on 6th September. The Charlatans frontman originally met New Yorker Peter Gordon in 2012 and they decided then on a music collaboration. Burgess had been a long time fan of Gordon's work with Arthur Russell and The Love Of Life Orchestra. The album was produced by Gordon in New York and features many of his and Tim's previous collaborators: Ernie Brooks who played with Arthur Russell on the first Modern Lovers album, trombone player Peter Zummo, conga player Mustafa Ahmed and Nik Void from Factory Floor.

"What I love about working with Peter is that in the late 70s with Peter Zummo and Arthur Russell and all the New York cats at The Kitchen, they were all making futuristic records," Burgess enthuses. "Now Peter in his mid-60s is still looking to do that. It's the world that I want to be in."
