Haling from Glasgow's East End, Christopher McFarlane has been producing under his Mirrors stagename since the summer of 2011, whilst holding down ongoing involvements with the city's popular 'Offbeat' clubnight. Coincidently set to hit the racks on the eve of his 21stbirthday, Loungin' Recordings present the Glaswegian newcomer's first official EP.

Since he was young, he has always been impressed by the sounds of the synths, electro pop and later on acid house. In the beginning of the 90ies, when the Slovenian electronic scene was still in the making, he was a regular guest in the legendary K4 and Palma in Slovenia. He was taken further into the world in 1998 when he took his first steps behind the turntables and he has been producing music since 2004. Since then, he has had quite a few releases and remixes for different record labels.He has dj gigs with huge names of the electronic scene and in large festivals in Slovenia and became the official Slovenian Hero of the future in 2007 at the Disconautica festival.He spends much of his time in his studio, where his thoughts are converted into notes and melodies, and as he often states, he finally found a style that suits him and always finds a challenge in. What is that style He doesn`t like to be defined by a specific music style, as he prefers and is influenced by many different genres of electronic music.
Alex Long is definitely a name we will hear of in the future!

STASIS005 is another vinyl issue of Elysia Crampton's digital work, following STASIS003, the 'Bound Adam 2011' 7". It is the first pressing of 'The Light That You Gave Me To See You', originally released under the name E+E.

The arrangements were conceived between 2011 and 2012, and the l.p. was finally assembled in 2013, while the artist was homeless in Los Angeles, California. This edition also includes a previously unreleased bonus track, "Troll Song", which originates from the same period. As with 'Bound Adam 2011', the art is by Felix Lee, and the master is by Brandon Hocura.

Bay area wonder kid Nick Monaco makes his shining debut on Soul Clap Records with this very limited 7' release. The A side "Butterfly" is a slo-mo, 808 laden, melodic piece of postmodern psychedelic E-Funk. On the flip side "My Baby's Back (Can't Wait)" delivers a response to 80's icon Cameo's "Single Life". An innocent yet poignant and hopeful breakup- to-makeup love song, its clear that Monaco isn't too shy to reveal his romantic side.

Ever striving for perfection, Sherard Ingram aka DJ Stingray 313 for this fifth Barba release hits us with elegant but typically fast pacing modern electro 3 tracker. Synthesizers PPG Wave Computer 360 A dar. Einen Prototyp hatte Trostel als kurzzeitiger
Vertriebsmitarbeiter des Herstellers schon häufiger öffentlich vorgeführt. Inhaltlich betrachtet handelt es sich
bei den vier Tracks um minimalistische, meditative und besinnliche Musik, die voll ist von wundersamen ChorKlängen, Flöten-Sounds und Effekten. Sich überlagernde Sequenzer-Linien und dominante Flächen mit
Wohlfühlharmonien werden durch beruhigende und besänftigende Beats getragen. Trostel beschrieb seine
Aufnahmen einst als Klangfarbenkompositionen. Heute ist die Wavetable genannte Syntheseform deutlich
weiterentwickelt in vielen Soundkarten und Digitalsynthesizern anzutreffen. In dem PPG Wave Computer 360
A war die Syntheseform noch sehr puristisch, was sich in einem klirrenden, teilweise harschen bis brüchigen
Klang äußerte.

No Regular Play has come along way in their pursuit of sonic excellence. Their freshly completed second album, 'Can't You See', is the duo's finest showing to date. The multi-instrumental and impressively talented band consists of born and bred Minnesotans Gregory Paulus & Nicholas DeBruyn who relocated to Brooklyn, NY, 10 years ago. They are the same Crew Love stalwarts that you should know and love. This time around, the gentleman have pushed their art and craft further than ever before, fine-tuning each individual sound on the album to an unprecedented level of detail with the help of talented producer, Alex "Hammer" Hamadey. The end result is a work that is robust, substantively deep and ready to soundtrack your night; be it a steamy dance floor or a romantic summer tryst.

For the unfamiliar, No Regular Play's creative essence is that of artists inspired by the dirty instincts of the late night dance floor but married to the lush harmony of the concert hall. This essence is on clear display in 'Can't You See', and definitively thriving.

The duo began composing this album shortly after the passing of Gregory Paulus' father, Stephen Paulus, one of the most prolific American composers of the last century. Consequently, the core of the album is driven by their bold spirit to positively respond to a very intense period in their lives. The songwriting takes a deeper tone addressing the topics of life, death, hope, cherished memories and perseverance. 'Can't You See' is about remembrance and embracing the beautiful truth that the music will always live on. The second track of the album, 'Lake Gilmore', carries an eerie nostalgia that serenely enhances this theme of remembrance. The melody is an outline of a chord Stephen Paulus used to play frequently, a stylistic hallmark. No Regular Play recorded this melody on Stephen's Steinway grand piano from 1925, a family heirloom and the same piano he wrote music on every day of his life. Throughout the album, there are many recordings made on Stephen's piano, so listen closely on 'Be Together' & 'Never Be the Same'. These were some of the last notes played on the beloved instrument. No Regular Play will be touring 'Can't You See' the world over, expanding the project with a full live band including piano, drums, and saxophone. They have already gotten their feet wet with this wonderful live configuration, so catch them as they move forward, one step at a time towards the full-fledged musical masters they are destined to become.

Magic Waves delivers the third and final installment in its series of EPs focusing on established artists working in disguise and encouraging the listener to put the music first' ahead of names, trends or gimmicks. 'Music First Vol 3' opens in serious style with Fashionable Male's epic EBM/New Beat stormer 'Hardbody', slow, deep and hard, building pressure to a crushing crescendo and guaranteed to drench any industrial basement dancefloor in litres of sweat. As if that wasn't enough of an audiophysical workout we're also treated on Side A to Deflektor1000's 'Krunch', a punchy analogue technoid jam for the DJs that raves the bpm's up to the next level in classic Detroit-Chicago style featuring whooshing strings, grinding bass and generally heavily elevating vibes. Flipping over to Side B things quickly get deeply hypnotic and very acidic indeed courtesy of Pagan Ritual's squelching and jacking box-jam 'Think Like Me', another bomb no doubt destined to sit in many a DJ-bag for a long time. And closing things off we have an analogue Italo-Electro instrumental hard-rocker from Albert Ross in the shape of 'Fly Away', one that has been doing the rounds in the underground for some time and even popping up in the occasional I-F mix or two, finally available on wax but just as mysterious as ever. Copies are limited so don't be slow...you snooze, you lose!

Robi Insinna aka Headman's Relish Recordings continues to forge in the past and brings you a collection of classic tracks reworked for today: Relish EP V including Unknown Cases, Units Dub by Headman, Gina X Red Axes version and Headman's original 2003 Dub. First up is Headman's version of Masimbabele by The Unknown Cases. The original track has been performed and recorded 25 years ago and was originally released as a 12" single by RoughTrade. Members were Cologne musicians Helmut Zerlett and Stefan Krachten (disciples and regular collaborators of the CAN musicians) and legendary African percussionist REEBOP KWAKU BAAH and it has actually been mixed at CAN STUDIO in Cologne. Masimbabele was originally regarded as "a modern form of rhythm'n'blues" in the original 1983 Rough Trade promotion info - since nobody involved had heard anything like that before....no surprise it became one of John Peel's favourite records of the early 80s and one of his most played singles in 1983. it became since an Afrobeat classic! it was also Remixed by Adrian Sherwood in 1989 for RoughTrade. As second track on the EP is Headman's unreleased High Pressure Days Dub by The Units. In 2009 the Original was release digital and on Vinyl via Relish with a remixes by Rory Phillips and Headman. The Units were a cornerstone of this unofficial movement, later called "synth punk" and which would come to define a greater west coast DIY culture combining new synthetic sounds, ranging from Nervous Gender, Screamers and Monitor, to The Blackouts. High Pressure Days is a testament to the loneliness and urgency of the times, and one of synthpunk's greatest anthems while at the same time becoming a dancefloor classic among dj's like Danielle Baldelli. Next up is the Red Axes remix of their all time favorite track No G.D.X. by Gina X. They say it was something very special for them, as the track means a lot to them. Headman's 2003 Dub is the final track on the EP and it was released originally by Hell's Gigolo records. Released in autumn 1979, No G.D.M. slowly took hold with disparate audiences worldwide, and remains a classic to this day. Sometimes the man-machine is a woman... or is it It's hard to tell in the twilight world of Gina X Performance ithe collaboration of singer/lyricist Gina Kikoine and producer/multi-instrumentalist Zeus B. Heldiconfounded the norms. Their songs blur genders and sexual preferences; rouge covers stubble and women morph into men. No G.D.M." became a staple of Rusty Egan's playlist at Blitz, the epicentre of London's fashionable nightclub scene. Groundbreaking in its choice of sounds, subject matter and visual presentation, Gina X Performance anticipated the betterknown achievements of countless peers: the sleazy electro-noir of Soft Cell; the androgynous stance of Annie Lennox and Grace Jones & Laurie Anderson's marriage of electronic pop with performance art. The entire "electroclash" movement at the turn of the 21st century owed a debt to GXP with Miss Kittin & The Hacker topping the list and it also anticipated the UK synthpop boom of Human League and Depeche Mode by a couple of years

In a time when the internet seems awash, and over saturated, it takes something truly remarkable to break through and head on an organic journey that grabs the imagination and acclaim of journalists, fans and musicians alike - but this is precisely what happened when NAO first uploaded her track with A.K Paul 'So Good' earlier this summer. Within 48hours it had taken on a life of its own, picking up acclaim from some of the world's most influential publications, gaining the #1 spot on HypeMachine, being streamed over 100K times (it now sits just shy of 900K), getting played as Zane Lowe's "Next Hype" on BBC Radio 1 and gaining praise from the likes of Disclosure, Little Dragon, Chet Faker and Jacques Greene.

With a mother hooked on gospel, which was an early introduction to vocals and harmony, a love for soul icon Donny Hathaway and the empowering Erykah Badu, NAO takes her vocal influences and combines them with an East London upbringing that saw her witness grime first hand, exposing her to a modern production that has stayed with her and helped form a potent mix.

Contra Communem Opinionem shortly CCO, own name Florin Büchel is the pure acid lover from Zürich. He has debuted on Mathematics records in 2008 and since then he has been quite active with several releases on Lux Records and few other brands. There is a strong analogue character in his music based on 808 or 707 beats seasoned with melancholic pads, melodies and already mentioned acid lines. He is also involved in Savage Ground project formed by him and Daniel Cosmo. This is 'Space Race' from melodic electro through overdrive madness to drone beats. It comes with remix from man behind Endless Illusion, Layup.

Retro-fetish space jakkers by this very promising lady cat from Berlin. A cosmic trip by night trough the big city neighbourhoods. Move those feet!

Delft is delivering more sick acid tunes! This time its Delft's chief LA-4A on duty and giving us some advanced modern acid jackers. We cant get enough of some good old traditional tracks, but its always extra exciting to hear someone who can give it a new contemporary twist. 4th release on Delft records and from the first release (cat-000) its spot on! Recommended.

Baltimore' was inspired by the April 1968 riots in the eastern US city, a reaction to Martin Luther King's assassination. The track features Bobby Gillespie on vocals.

Finally the time has come! After a long 6-year wait the third edition of the
popular 'Computer Incarnations For World Peace' series is due to
release very soon. The idle time will be rewarded with a bunch of stunners:
Tracks by Georges Rodi & Dave Sarkys, Brenda & The Beach Balls and
Anna Domino will be featured on the compilation selected by Sonar
Kollektiv-A&R-Manager Alex Barck. Of which more later, when the release
is ready. To start with, an outright highlight of this set is gonna come out as
a pre-release 12inch including two contemporary reinterpretations.
'Airport of Love' by Love International came out in 1981 on Polydor
France as the flipside of 'Dance On The Groove (And Do The Funk)' and
was back then most notably a huge club and radio hit in Italy. In the
meantime the song has risen to become a Cosmic Disco classic and can
be found in the record bags of every DJ that likes to play a bit more eclectic
and leftfieldish.
Behind the project 'Love International' were the two french guys Phillipe
Chany and Philippe Kootchey, who - despite the considerable success -
only produced this single track together. Chany has been a busy bee as a
producer up to this very day, achieving worldwide success together with
Caroline Loeb (- C'est La Ouate' was Number One in 17 countries in
1986), helping Jean-Paul Gaultier to start his own career in music and
being a well respected solo artist and composer of film music with a
remarkable output.
When deciding which remixer should have a go at 'Airport of Love' Sonar
Kollektiv consequently chose a Frenchman. Joakim is probably even one
of those producers, who shaped the club sounds of France like no other
over the last 15 years. His love for throttled, spooky voices come to full
bloom again on his reinterpretation of 'Airport Of Love'. You also get the
typical, crisp Joakim sound, which still sounds as fresh as back then when
he remixed Max Berlin's 'Elle Et Moi', 16 years after its initial release, to
become a worldwide club hit. On the digital release Joakim provides a 'Slow
version' which doesn't goes down to the nitty-gritty as hefty as the club mix-
but is ecstatic nonetheless with the added cheers and chants.
Not as long in the business as Joakim is Freedarich from Berlin. But it's
here where the 30- year old producer learned how to make music that will
bring a jam-packed dance floor to boil. His remix is a proper early morning
anthem with euphoric synth chords and the prolonged chorus saved until
last. He as well delivered a slow version for the digital release which is
aligned a bit more with the original, but still is as cranky and well-hung as
only music from 2014 sounds like.

Next up on Polytechnic Youth following the rapid fire, single afternoon sell out of it's singles collection LP ( They Make No Say' currently being repressed and with a CD out on US label Emotional Response) is the magnificent debut full length from POLYPORES.

Following a batch of incredible, exclusive online / digital releases, Polytechnic Youth releases the projects' first physical release, and it is a beauty.

Polypores (aka Stephen James Buckley) is based in a tiny home studio in Preston. He conjures up imaginary soundtracks from science fiction films of a bygone age that never existed. Think John Carpenter and Italo-disco filtered through Scarfolk Council's tannoy system, and heard through a haze of long-banned sedatives and you're in the right ballpark.

The Fialka Transmissions' was created with 3 analog synthesizers and a sampler. It was inspired by voices picked up on a shortwave radio, a winter spent immersed in dystopian fiction, and the increasing possibility of that fiction becoming a reality. Coldwave synth tones and decrepit dancefloor beats occasionally giving way to moments of decayed melancholy.

The LP is a one time pressing of 300 only, on splatter vinyl and destined to sell it's run out super quick....

After a five-year hiatus, Canadian electronic music producers MSTRKRFT (Jesse F. Keeler & Al-P) are back.
Driven by distorted drum beats, hauntingly hypnotic synths and booming cinematic soul, OPERATOR immediately captivates.

It's probably the most accurate reflection of how we work on stage,' says Jesse. We had to be very creative with very few elements. It took time to figure that out.'

2011 was the last time we heard from MSTRKRFT with the release of the single Back in the USSA', following their Juno award-winning debut album The Looks in 2006. MSTRKRFT have released official remixes for everybody from Katy Perry and Kylie Minogue to Wolfmother, Justice and Bloc Party. 2009's Fist Of God boasted collaborations with the likes of John Legend, Ghostface Killah, E-40, N.O.R.E, Lil' Mo and more as it predicated an eventual crossover between hip-hop and electronic music on the horizon.

BAKK lodges SFV Acid with a double deal - a 12 inch (DOep) with deep ânâ dark electro vibes and a 10 inch (Jazzchamber) for the smooth and elastic funk. Both come with the unusual SFV Acid touch. It comes in two screen printed inner sleeves packed in a plastic sleeve with a chrome sticker - conceived by the BAKK Cartoon Cartel.

SWING REPUBLIC began life as the side project of a platinum selling Danish songwriter and producer, Per Ebdrup. In love with the sound of swing, Per remixed old and obscure vintage gems in his spare time. Following the success of the 2010 album 'Electro Swing Republic' Freshly Squeezed Music, (debonairs of all things swing) and Swing Republic are both proud to present the album Midnight Calling.

This album is an amazing assortment of all of the best elements of electro-swing. There is an amazing flow between each track with each one as catchy as the last. A modern boogie 7" on Unirhythm! Yep, you heard right! Marcellus Pittman graces the A-Side of the disc on "1044 Coplin" - a nice slice of mid west funk sure to appeal to all the boogie heads worldwide. On the flip we have the Unirhythm debut from Detroit's own John Cannon. John C is a veteran producer and MC, most recently featured on the J DIlla album "Rebirth Of Detroit." No suprise there - we definitely hear some Dilla on "J.C.'s Groove." Essential!

A long anticipated collection of long sold out 45s on the tiny North London minimal synth imprint, Polytechnic Youth. The label began it's life in 2014 when an old friend went to Germany and bought a cutting lathe, enabling us to release hand cut 45s in micro editions of varying quantities. From there, a dizzying array of collectors' dream releases flowed, clear 5' singles, 8' singles, 45s that played from the inside label out and releases that came with personalized 'glow in the dark' centre adapters, to name a few. All sought after now. The LP features a selection of tracks from these releases, which, while allowing newcomers to the label a more affordable foot in the door, also gels and works well as a free flowing full length in it's own right. The label has a deep love for both the look and sound of key period '78 to '83 minimal synth, experimental and primitive, DIY electronic music. Often released as private press style vinyl or low key cassette only releases. If forced to throw names at you as reference points, think Fad Gadget, early Cabs, early Mute, John Bender, Neural Circus and Transparent Illusion etc. .

Die Geschichte der kongolesischen Band Konono N°1 reicht bis in die 1960er-Jahre zurück. Doch erst in diesem Jahrtausend erfuhr die breitere Öffentlichkeit mit der Veröffentlichung des Debütalbums "Congotronics" von der Existenz dieser faszinierenden Formation. Für Konono N°1 ist ein hypnotischer Sound charakteristisch, der auf elektrisch verstärkten Daumenklavieren einerseits und einer wilden RhythmusGruppe andererseits basiert, irgendwo zwischen Jimi Hendrix, Can, Lee "Scratch" Perry und den Einstürzenden Neubauten. Im Anschluss an "Congotronics" folgten Auftritte bei großen Rockfestivals, Projekte mit Björk und Herbie Hancock sowie 2008 eine Grammy-Nominierung für "Live At Couleur Café". Das Album "Meets Batida" basiert auf einer Zusammenarbeit mit dem angolanisch-portugiesischen Künstler Pedro Coquenão aka Batida. Die Aufnahmen fanden in Batidas Garagenstudio in Lissabon statt, produziert wurde es gemeinschaftlich von Vincent Kenis und Pedro Coquenão. Bei den Songs sind eine Reihe illustrer Gäste aus der Lissaboner Musikszene zu hören: Neben Papa Juju, Kopf der bekanntesten Afro-Fusion-Band der Stadt, und der afrikanischen Sängerin Selma Uamusse zum Beispiel auch der Slampoet, Künstler und Produzent MC AF Diaphra. Auf "Meets Batida" verbinden sich elektronische Beats mit organischen Grooves zu einer neuartigen, so bislang noch nie gehörten Form von Afro-Electro-Musik.
