The electro innovator who the original release appears to be highly inspired by seemed like a perfect fit for this sleazy late Night groover. The result is 3 fresh mixes using elements of the original session tapes and the perfect touch of the Egyptian Lover's signature 808'

PP SERIE is here to combine music by label artists & friends showcasing a broad spectrum of Audio Entertainment. "SERIE A" features: trance inducing collage, pop build up, homage to the almost forgotten communication medium Telefon and a heavy acid tool.

After releasing the Last Train To Marzahn EP in 2016, I'm a Cliché boss Cosmo Vitelli is back with the label's first release of 2017, CLICHÉ066.
A1: When Suddenly : Acid
With Cosmo Vitelli's trademark style being eclectism, it's pointless to pin down this track to a specific genre. Borrowing from the kind of disco not disco and acid-without-303 vibes that I'm a Cliché is famous for, this is an instantly gratifying tune where synthesizers are engaged in call and response melodies in an elegant take on the idea of machine funk. The result is catchy, refreshing and primed for the dancefloor.
A2: El Si Señor (Skinny version)
If you think this track is just a tool, then you're only getting half of the picture. Skinny but chock-full of melodic and percussive content with a plodding rhythmic section moving at around 105 BPM. This is a downtempo track where heartfelt melodies, sound effects, and pristine seamless arrangements are used with great results by Cosmo Vitelli.
B1:The Cemetery of Unsigned House Tracks
Clocking at 9 minutes, don't get fooled by the track's tongue-in-cheek title, we're dealing here with a seriously epic tune. Set in an endlessly rising motion, the track begins with a refined but twisted vibe, sparse but ominous guitars and plenty of FX. Gradually, an infectious synth arpeggio rises and carries with it the whole track, some sort of hypnotic and sensual monster, utterly irresistible on the dancefloor.
B2: El Si Señor (Soundtrack Version)
With melodies that are more expansive and at the fore, leaving the rhythmic section discernible but clearly in the background, this version of El Si Senor is a reference to 70s film music, and this bittersweet tune closes the EP in style.

Something Happening Somewhere returns with a new collection of stories unified under the brand new NOWHERE compilation series. Shards of tales long forgotten are told and retold by a group of fellow travellers, exploring sounds in many shapes and forms. Sailing towards an unknown destination, revealed here are the hymns luring you into the abyss...

The NOWHERE 01 Vinyl Sampler is a carefully curated selection of freshly crafted propellants pressed on wax for the very first time. Quince gives us a saturated electronic work-out, combining gritty drum sounds with bass guitar and odd timed synth zaps. Kurt Baggaley's Detect was a digital exclusive from his Remembering Infinity EP, now finally available on black gold! It features a similar electro groove but uses artificial intelligence to add vocoder sounds and digitally aliased robot tears. Fader From Borneo takes a more frontal approach providing a catchy bass riff with warm pads and synthesised strings to guide you in a comfortable trance.

On the B-side we find Kiani & His Legion with another one of his emo burners, trademark nature inspired synth sounds and cinematic storytelling intertwine, pure bliss. Closing off this vinyl sampler is Sigward with a trippy and hypnotising cut that draws you in with razor-sharp synth signposts. As if warping through a tunnel of constantly shifting coloured lights, 'and then I flew out...'. Something is happening somewhere, but where...

The NOWHERE voyage is designed by our favourite designer Quentin Deronzier and for the Vinyl Sampler we're creating a unique silkscreen printed remix of his visual articulation. The face of a mortal being exposed from every angle it discloses every achingly beautiful, enchanting and haunting detail there is to discover. There are things hiding in the murky depths of the seawater, discoveries not to be looked into the eye and sounds never to be resonated by an eardrum. Perhaps nowhere is actually a place worth visiting.

Randomly few times a year Rutherford and Eargoggle team up for some monkey business in the studio. As often the result is "Monkeyshop" a journey into the deepest, darkest forrests and landscapes of the north. Scandinavia is not known for the monkeys but they exist there especially arround Gothenburg in the mountains.. Rebolledo's YOU AND YOUR HIPPIE FRIENDS imprint grows its groove footprint on international dance floors with the full-length debut of GÜERO, the latest vinyl outing from the Hippie Dance sister label and also its first fully fledged album project. To attentive hippie friends, the artist name should ring a big, funky bell - one that sounds exactly like the cut 'Convertible Ride' from the notorious 'A Very Nice Combinado Volume Uno' 12' release (YAYHF 01).
Back then, our hero was travelling under the somewhat more convoluted 'El Güero Fresa' monicker, but has since dropped some of those conceptual pounds in an effort to reach maximum sleekness. In the same vein, his debut album is a testament to ultimate funk-a-ficiency, digging deep into fizzy arpeggios and chunky basslines - and the occasional guitar cameo, giving tracks such as bubbling synth opener ELEKTRONIQUE, the neon-lit NIGHT CRUISING, bouncing electro disco roller ALTO FINAL or the programmatic SPACE DRIFTER just that little extra riff.
GUITAR MAYHEM, however, is anything but - you'll discover a pretty dank bouncer and certainly not the squealing meltdown one would expect. TECHNO MINIMAL doesn't do what it says on the tin, either, opting for an energetic bass 'n' organ workout instead. By now, you'll begin to understand why the album's called MY WAY MY RULES: GÜERO takes whatever sonic path he desires, no matter what - which is precisely why he chimes so well with YOU AND YOUR HIPPIE FRIENDS's steadily expanding motley crew of rave misfits and studio drop-outs. The way of the hippie is indeed a mysterious one.

After his collaboration with Adam Beyer Joseph Capriati teams up with Flavio Folco for the second Redimension with a fully analogue production in the studio. A wide range of sounds taking you deeper into their idea of space, dimension and possible destinations. Joseph's creativity received a new drive from the collaboration with the emerging talent Flavio Folco whose musical roots range from Jazz to Hip Hop and Acid House. Their studio sessions in Barcelona and Flavio's openings sets at Capriati's shows gave both of them the chance to get to know each other on a deeper musical level which turned into an unexpected and dynamic EP.

Since composer Sean McBride unveiled his first utterance as Martial Canterel almost 2 decades ago, he has produced a body of work both substantial and alluring within the field of live analogue electronic music. Effortlessly fusing a variety of styles and influences, Martial Canterel is one of the premiere outfits utilizing analogue electronics and modular synthesizers. In particular FM synthesis is employed to produce clustered polyphonies and organic atmospheres - a staple of his signature style.Three years have passed since Martial Canterel's last full length album Gyors, Lassù was released on Dais Records. During this down time, McBride found himself in a state of flux, ebbing back and forth between material displacement and musical aestheticism. His expert pedigree in electronic sound and arrangement bridges the gap created by an undecidability between life at home and abroad - his new album, Lost At Sea, is an attempt for the artist to locate common ground, mutating fable with reality, exteriority and interiority.

The album's introductory track, Giving Up, has all of the hallmarks that Martial Canterel has utilized in the past...melodic chorus, upbeat rhythm and classic sequential dynamism. Where the song diverges is in its core theme of nature: nature's return to a period of restoration after the failures and recklessness of humankind. Although this first glance refamiliarizes one with the tight, upbeat appeal typically found within the genre, Lost at Sea quickly takes a more serious and sobering tone.The slower pace of songs like Scampia and Puszta yearn for McBride's complex love affair with far flung destinations. Re-evaluating the political strife and social unrest in these historical locations, McBride delves deeper into political and geological reference points creating symbolic representations using mechanized percussion, white noise and various sine waves.The conceptual nature of Lost at Sea reaches even deeper depths within the waveforms of Astralize, a track based upon academic Donna Haraway's pre-civilized theories of human neglect after the 'azstralization'.

From another analogue basement, amidst paranoid conspiracy theories and wild youtube truths, the heat of a Tr-808 and Juno-60, and dreams of forgotten utopias, comes the first Secret State ep, an attempt to rise above the all pervasive, vacuous, decaying culture.

Moby releases a super limited one off coloured vinyl pressing of 'Play B-sides', via his Litttle Idiot imprint'. First time this has ever been pressed on vinyl. Featuring tracks from Moby's multimillion selling 'Play' era. 'Play B-sides' includes some lost treasures and some of Moby's Best works, including the global hit Flower.

RotterHague is a new label dedicated to electro music in all it's forms, this issue showcasing brothers from other mothers DJ Technician and DJ Overdose. Lot's of E-mu SP1200 programming as this is for both of them the weapon of choice. Funky robotics to make the people shake is about as close as you can get to a description for the four tracks delivered on this E.P.

Burning Rose and Pelvis records meet in the middle to dish up Dormir, a two piece machine from Melbourne, Australia featuring Morgan Wright (formerly of Melbourne hardcore act Imprisoned) and Harry Maslen (formerly of Postblue). Kalil, seja bem-vindo novamente - Welcome back K.A.L.I.L. I am stoked to have the youngest member of our Electric Ballroom family back.

K.A.L.I.L. celebrated his debut on Electric Ballroom last year together with fellow Sao Paulo DJ/Producer Victor Ruiz. This time K.A.L.I.L. returns with three of his own Techno cuts. In addition Victor Ruiz delivers a startling remix showcasing his trademark sound.

NYC Veteran and machine wizard Charles Noel aka Archetype reaches deep into his sonic archive to present another incredibly special release on Bright Sounds. Featuring exclusive previously unreleased material ranging from abstract to sublime in the form of a new & unique alias, (CN2). Essential.

Norwegian duo Smerz had a prolific 2017, which saw the Copenhagen-based Henriette and Catharina play the likes of Club 2 Club, MoMA PS1, sell out 'Half life' parties of their own, as well as release five new tracks along with five self-directed videos. Clearly not ones to wait around, Smerz go in to the new year with their 'Have fun' EP on the horizon for release via XL Recordings in March 2018.

With their unique electronic sound blending deconstructed club music, minimalist R&B and experimental pop and techno, Smerz are also prolific DJs who's DJing style takes a similar route. Mixing live vocals over their own music and interlaced with choice cuts aimed squarely at the dancefloor, this duo DJ hard in a live setting and are thrilling to watch as well as listen.

Smerz currently host their own monthly NTS Radio residency, mixing cutting-edge dance music and darker tones, in what is turning in to their trademark style.

side, the club legend Boris Dlugosch and Raik Fargo from Hey Today! (Kitsune) are Come Klar and give with 'Mostro 2' an explosive tune with a freaky bassline and fluo pads on a massive compression. Enjoy !

Sha' D Underground Trax comes forward with his first private pressed release, hailing from Birmingham with a passion for basslines and vocals, the 'Scalpel' EP aims to deliver just that with a mix of Electro, Freestyle & Boogie cut up, chopped and reworked focusing on the drums and raw basslines while bringing the silky vocals to the fore and removing all the cheese, for those of you who buy records looking for the dub versions or Step Pettibone remixes this is the perfect record for you, built by the dance floor for the dance floor, late night low slung sleaze business.

Turbolenz is a new label from Offenbach run by Philipp Lenz aka Delenz. The first label's release comes from Shayde, the brain child of Delenz and his partner Richard Hötter. Titled - Ama il buco' (Italian natives get the joke here), it features a very diverse spectrum of sounds and moods.

- Ama il buco' a slow grower and steady groover that will get many bodies moving and is some ready-to-get-naked material for sure.
- Kühlschrank in F-Moll' is a rather dreamy, yet positive and escapistic affair. Insert your favourite sunrise after a long night out here.

The flip side starts with a remix by none other than Swayzak, the mighty tech house duo from London. Their take on - Ama il buco' is a crisp and cool peak time affair for a moment of contemplation - if that makes sense. The last track - Ofwebach' is obviously an homage to Delenz' home town Offenbach. Apparently a more uptempo and experimental terrain, - Ofwebach' is something else.

All in all, the result is a rock-solid 4-track debut release on Turbolenz or as they say in Offenbach and Frankfurt: Megastabiles Ding.

French label Meant has had a great run of things in 2012 with standout release from Vosper, Rework and Remain vs Populette getting

love from DJs across the board and extensive press support. Now the imprint looks to an act that have already proved their worth

with previous releases, the excellent Monoblok & PSLKTR. Monoblok & PSLKTR have been working together since 2009 and have

been responsible for releases on Notorious Elektro and Lebensfreud Records as well as of course the Meant label. Their unique take

on the modern sound of electro has given them a loyal fan base and this latest release with its intense feel and stellar remix selection is

certain to attract plenty of attention.



The EP kicks off with title track 'Spooky', a rolling, dark edged affair that melds element of electro and techno into a cut that is intense

from beginning to end. Vocoded vocals, off kilter synth parts and nagging top lines tie the record together and make for a

rollercoaster of a listen!
The original is accompanied by a remix from French production heavyweight Michel Amato AKA The Hacker who turns into a full
bore, old school electro workout that is simply stunning. The flipside of the vinyl gets going with 'Sigminder' feat MTH, a brooding
and squelchy electronic workout that walks a balanced line between dark and light with its swirling FX and close to Distortion
synth riffs, quality stuff. The remix duties on 'Sigminder' are handed to La Dame Noir who deliver a hypnotic reworking that retains
much of the original character whilst very much stamping it's own sound on things. There are 2 digital exclusives, the Vosper
remix of 'Sigminder' which delivers some quality techno and the 'Assault on Meant 15 edit' of Spooky that offers up some slo-mo
soundtrack action.

Pupil Dilations - new EP by Russian producer Kausto (real name Kuzma Palkin) for Roots United records.
5 tracks was produced in 2004 - 2007 in Kausto's hometown Severodvinsk on a vintage PC using Jeskola Buzz Tracker and old VST plugins.
Main source of inspiration - music of that time: Baby Ford, Humanoid, 808 State's Newbuild, as well as Analord series by AFX.
Original EP consisted of 6 pieces with the sixth track coming out as a bonus on digital release.

Kohib, AKA Øivind Sjøvoll from Sortland in the north of Norway, has been an important part of the club-scene in the town of Tromsø (the birthplace of the Northern Disco scene) since 1997, first as a DJ, later as a club organizer. In 2012, he started a string of dancefloor EP's, and the first one, "Solar Day EP", had a fairly limited distribution outside Norway. So, here is finally a "proper" re-release! The "Solar Day EP" is a rousing four-tracker of superb dance tunes. The selection features prime examples of Norwegian electronic music ranging from nu-disco to slinky house music to downtempo electronica. "So Good" leads the pack with a high charged house music rhythm, fancy bursts of percussion and bass line pulsations, and the appealing vocals of Dagny (yes, "that" Dagny, of "Backbeat", "Wearing Nothing" and "Love You Like That" fame) which beckon the listener to "take off all your clothes and dance with me!" This one's begging for immediate deployment on the dance floor. Kohib touches on more Italo-flavored grooviness with "Don't Tease The Bumblebee" which rides and glides like the flying insect in the title should. A bouncy low end and floating synths add to the cosmic romp. "Escape Velocity" lessens the tempo but fizzles with intriguing elements and melodies. Seemingly plucked synth lines and rolling, reverb-ed arpeggios evoke slow-motion bob-sledding across the Norwegian tundra. The set closes with the eponymous "Solar Day", a mildly uplifting piece withdriving drums, buzzy, throbbing synth action, and more delicious Italo-inspired loveliness. This one builds to a stirring climax and closes the EP in grand style.

Anthony Rother zeigt sich im Sommer 2015 energiegeladen wie schon lange nicht mehr und haut uns mit "Koridium" die nächste kompromisslose Floorbombe um die Ohren. Unnachgiebig,
metallisch, ein forderndes Sequenzstakkato in steter Bewegung, eine Klang gewordene Stroboskop Lichtskulptur und damit doch eigentlich genau das, weswegen wir Techno so sehr lieben. Und auch die B-Seite "Mosel 45" zelebriert diese schnörkellose Ästhetik unter Hochspannung und verbeugt sich so ganz nebenbei vor dem Frankfurter elektronischen Untergrund zwischen Monophonie und Bahnhofsviertel.
