Matt Edwards launches Stranger in The Night with his first solo material since 2017.
The Rekids offshoot will release regular music by four artists, namely Radio Slave, King
Britt, Anthony Rother and Fred P, who will each drop three EPs over the next year.

'With Rekids being 100% focused on releasing music for dance floors I felt the need to
create a new platform to explore a wider musical vision and invite some of my all-time
electronic musical heroes to be a part of the series,' says Matt Edwards.

Both numbers near the 12-minute mark but each track portrays a different aesthetic.
Opening with precision drums and crystalline notes, 'Ground Control' makes a nod
towards the hi-tech soul sound of Detroit and drives forward using a sultry bassline, erratic
chords and the occasional icy stab as an array of contrasting sounds operate in unison.

On the flip, a syncopated rhythm lays the foundation for 'Last Communication' whilst a
tantalising melody joins poignant synths, constructing a profound and hypnotising journey.

With their ears towards Detroit and their feet stuck in the Dutch polders Cosmic Force and Edo8 came up with some of the most uncompromising, hardhitting westcoast electro tracks of the early 00's. The second release on 4GN3S (pronounced Agnes) is an angular and shadowy 5-track EP by The Golden FIlter. The 'Dislocation' EP is five pariahic pieces paying equal homage to minimal wave, post-punk, no wave, and electro, but retaining Stephen and Penelope's inventive presence. Before 'Talk Talk Talk' became a 2018 summer festival anthem by accident, it was always meant to be the lead track on this EP. Like Siouxsie vs early Human League, but heavier. Originally available only as an extremely limited edition duplate at Rye Wax, 'All The Way In' is a jittery electro beat workout sounding as if Anne Clark were fronting Drexciya. Beatless and odd, 'Dislocation' first premiered on Fort Romeau's Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1. It's Part art-piece, part word association, and part No Wave experimentalism. A mutating arpeggiated bass and an ominous tone drive 'Cut My Hair' into a incongruously sci-fi dark dance netherworld. 'Temple' is classic Golden Filter, with modular bass blurbs, soft vocals, and an 808 beat doused in analog reverb. Dance music to sit in the corner and think to.

Madrid's Analogical Force continues its run and are proud to present 'Welkin EP', second in the catalogue and first from Niagara Falls, NY-based Reid Dunn (well known as WISP) under his misterious DWAALLICHT alias. Many -like us- have been looking forward long time for this stuff, now the wait is over. Just when the 10th anniversary of the still acclaimed 'NRTHNDR' album on now-defunct Sublight label, and six years after 'We Miss You' and 'The Shimmering Hour' on the Rephlex camp, the Aphex Twin-approved producer is back exploring spectral acidish territories, intricate drum patterns with thick synths, nervous breaks and rhythms, nostalgic rising-falling melodies...waving this elements to his will. It seems that Reid has deemed the time right to do what he does best. A record so immune to contemporary styles and aesthetics are almost by definition timeless, and it's tempting to call 'Welkin EP' that. Dwaallicht doesn't hide his influences; AFX, Squarepusher and Mike Paradinas are obvious reference points, but add Tangerine Dream, Phuture 303 or Mr Fingers to the mix and you'll get a sense of the scope of Reid's personal vision. Braindancers: 'Welkin EP' will all remind you exactly why you loved this talented guy for so long and why hes one of the most uncompromising artists working in electronic music this days. Greyhouse was the first of many aliases adopted by Dutch DJ/producer Marcel Hol. In the late 80's the first signs of 90's optimism and euphoria started. Marcel was young, creative and ambitious because he got his hands on some new equipment like the sampler. Electronic music was within reach. Greyhouse landed a recording contract with Hip Hop Records, a dance label founded by Erik Van Vliet based in Rotterdam. In 1989 he released his debut single Move To The Groove / New Beats The House.' Renaat Vandepapeliere from R & S Records cleverly spotted the record's potential. re-releasing it with New Beats The House' as the A-side With this new exposure the song became one of the biggest hits of a New Beat sub-genre called Hard Beat.

New Beats the House' is peak sampledelia, based on a synthesizer line taken from Kraftwerk It's More Fun To Compute' and vocal samples from Kraze The Party' (Gimme a fat beat), Art of Noise Opus 4' (No sun, no shade), Ice-T The Hunted Child' (Bangin' for the thrill, man), and Ian McShane reading an excerpt from Ian Penman's essay 'The Annihilation of Rhythm". Weaved throughout is the TB-303 line that made this song an Acid House anthem. The song also features one of the very first appearances of Jochem Paap aka Speedy J, credited for scratches. This reissue is backed with a 1989 remix by Marcel Hol that adds additional synthesizers and removes some of the vocal samples. On the B-side is Detroit's Jared Wilson with his 7777 Acid Remix full of modulated 303, reverberated snap-claps, and a sample from Jesse Jackson's speech 'I Am Somebody' from Wattstax Music Festival in 1972. Also included is Move Your Assit' (Acid Version), the second single by Greyhouse. The track was originally released in 1989, and showcases a searing acid line over a beat from Stock, Aitken, & Waterman's S.S. Paparazzi'.

All songs have been remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The jacket is an exact replica of the 1989 R & S Records edition, featuring a drawing of figures dancing on a yellow vinyl record set against a bright pink background. Thread captured our ears with their early outings on Reach Recordz, where they showed a unique approach to stripped down breaks and electro, mixing broken beats with minimal, electro and tech-house.

A project run by two hard-working veterans involved in the electronic music scene for the past 15 years, Marc Ashken and Ben Micklewright, Thread is just one of the several facets of this productions duo which is playing a key role in silently and relentlessly defining what we believe is a very unique sound, that blends influences coming from the vast legacy of the UK electronic music culture.

Following his release on Stockholm's Bossmusik, Kalawila's third release really makes mountains go boom! The strength in the second release on Mountain Explosion Device is undoubtedly Kalawila's sense of rhythm; straight to the point, no BS grooves, that swarm to form total dj tools, plus a subtle atmosphere that will move this record from the shelves into the booths. Clocked into a near 13 minutes journey, this monster A-side of a track feels like a celebration of everything that makes us gather during those late hours. Paired with a sonic wall that resembles mid 90's lust for experimentation, which marks the entire A side of Kalawila's second release on his label. On the flip you'll find even further explorations into the same territory. Rest assured that Virunga's less organic but more metallic approach will find a place in the hands of more daring dj's and listeners. The final track is a remix from Jana Sleep: a long lost tale of hibernation that keeps most hypnotists on the edge for more. This is only the beginning!

After DGTL’s first ever Various Artists release it is time to hand over the momentum of the 9th release to one artist only: Lauer. Phillip Lauer has been producing and remixing for decades. He has over 250 remixes to his name, collaborations with Gerd Janson, Fabrizio Mammarella and Tim Sweeney and various EPs and albums under his Lauer moniker. For the DGTL release Lauer gives us the three-tracker Topo Chico doused with his signature sound. Starting off with Inkel Jet 880, maybe best described as a modern Italo track, but without the typical accented vocals, giving you a mean and lean vibe throughout. The thick and synthy bass-line combined with the sharp chords, thumping beat and two effective breaks make Inkel Jet 880 an energetic ride straight to the dance floor. The title track Topo Chico is a softer sounding track with a swinging bassline and high pitched arrangement that builds up to stretched out chords, giving it all a dreamy yet spirited feel. From here on the track continues to build up to various highs, by leaving out the chords here and there, but adding some bells instead, while slowly but surely the chords drop by again and makes Topo Chico all the more blissful. The EP ends with the Topo Chico Tribute mix which starts with an acidic bass line that drops into a bath of soft sounding bells and Lauer’s signature stretched out chords, while the arrangement gives the track a nostalgic vibe, turning more current later on in the track. The tribute ends where it all started, with the thick Acid bassline, making the Topo Chico Tribute mix a perfect ending to the EP. The sleeve of DGTL’s 9th release Topo Chico is yet again custom designed by the duo Boris Acket and Tim Straver.

Introducing Sides, a new label from Melbourne, Australia that is a platform for artists with an established sound to beat up and belt out tracks under dance music’s darkest cloak, the alias. The first record comes from Katie Campbell aka Roza Terenzi, lighting up SIDES001 as Gloworm. The debut release offers 4 squirmy trax to put a little jiggle in the wiggle of you early birds. With more to come, Sides is looking forward to pointing the spotlight at a darker piece of the polygon.

Docile Recordings continues moving minimal with a four track release of nonchalant 4/4. Docile has developed its own style of loose and listless techno that runs the gambit from dark inebriation to a warm and immature frivolity. This style tells stories that only can be realized on vinyl. Simple harmonies and rhythms contrast the evolving programing to form a dynamic that makes one stop, look and listen. A. Garcia lives in and works for the Detroit vinyl community crafting their vinyl as well as his own. Enjoy this record from A.Garcia's mind and hands to yours.

Returning to a brief but very fruitful period in electronic music production, Shelved Recordings exists to look back to the golden age of the remix, with a clear view of the future it imagined.

Artists who were steered towards maverick producers, with a view to changing the rules, to re-defining the terms of what modern music should and could be.
Pioneering techniques, over-dubs and an exploratory period of pop production, resulted in many lost dub versions and mixes. Mixes, which invariably were left on the shelf, deemed too 'out there' by the bosses of the the hedonistic label managers who commissioned them.

Carefully reconstructed and rebuilt lost classics from someone who was there the first time around !

Detroit's Ali Berger joins up with FatCat Records' sub-label FCR to release four acid-tinged cuts entitled 'Keys The Door EP1'.

Michigan's Ali Berger has been making music for nearly ten years now and was first introduced to house and techno in 2012 through a party at New York's Dope Jams. Later that year he went on to release his debut EP on Militant Science and has since gone on release music via Clave House, Isaiah Tapes and Firm Tracks. Ali represents a new wave of producers coming through the US scene earning him regular slots at venues across the country. His 'Keys The Door EP1' sees him join Brighton's FatCat sub-label FCR which launched with two releases from Cottam, in addition to records from DJJ and Project 223.

Ali uses mostly hardware from the 90s and early 2000s to make his music and the stripped back nature of production is a constant feature throughout the EP. 'Badlands' opens things up with a chugged out groove immersed with weaving 303s and eccentric modulations before rhythmic synth stabs, angelic leads and delicate chords take the focus in 'Love In This Box'.

'Secrets' maintains the attractive atmosphere through a lusciously deep bassline, a haunting acid line and inviting oscillations until 'Sleeves' finishes things off with a raw drum sequence, illustrious melodies and alleviating pads in the second half.

We're excited to be joined by one of the most versatile and knowledgeable DJ producers on the planet. Hailing from Chicago, Chrissy's expertise knows no bounds and stylistically there's few hats he won't don, with productions appearing on labels as diverse as Planet Mu, Classic and Hypercolour to name a few.

For his debut on Super Rhythm Trax his wings remain characteristically unclipped as the tone veers from the massive Acid wall of 'Truth Bomb' (built upon an acappella from a house legend) through the ghostly dubbed out 'Stumble' to the anthemic house of 'We're Movin' before finally resting on the 21st century New Beat of '24 Hour Puppy People' .

'Truth Bomb' is exclusive to the Vinyl only. Digital versions will contain a version with different vocals.

Dean Zepherin is truly a producer who has managed to find his lane and appeal.
Born and raised in London - a suitably eclectic city for a man of his musical persuasion - he is renowned for his consistently genre-pushing productions.
In other words, a perfect match for Local Talk, a label not afraid to go beyond the classic 4/4 sound and explore different styles within house music.

Opening track Blue Moon is an organic, warm and enveloping chunk of deep house bliss and there's no doubt that Dean loves his house served with with plenty of horns.
Next up is Flying High, a jazzy uptempo house cut smothered in expansive percussions, trading organ and trumpet solos over elastic synth lines.

Music that speaks to the senses

Debuting on the freshly-minted Mad Habitat imprint, Greville’s EP is a bifurcated effort split between tranquil ambience, and hazy couch-locked house, with influences of each bleeding through and influencing each work in a stylistic osmosis. The sound palette blends crystalline synth patches, mimetic foley and field recordings in a playful spectrum of realism and synthesis; borne from the duality of always wanting to be in the studio while dreaming of the natural world outside it.

After his debut in 2014 in a compilation for the thirtieth anniversary of “Madrid City Breaker” in which appear illustrious producers from the electro scene as ERP, Luke Eargoggle and Boris Divider among others Gladio Operations launches its first EP with “Flight to Anywhere” produced by the duo from Madrid UHF also owners of the label along with Luis Elesox.

This first reference includes three original cuts, with a mix of tunes that range from cosmic-atmospheric as “Flight to Anywhere” to raw and acid from “Reality” and “Inner Flight” a cut with a touch of IDM with well molded and surrounding textures. The pack concludes with an excellent remix from the classic English producer Scape One who adds a simple and elegant twist to the original track.

Mitchell Street Records proudly presents its second release following the success of Jasper’s James ‘Crypto’ opening the labels account back in late 2018. The Dutchman has a Moroccan background but grew up in the Netherlands and is now a firm fixture on the capital’s club circuit, and takes over both sides of the latest MS record, with two off-kilter electro jams and a twisted remix delivered by Scandinavian upstart Samo DJ.

Jasper and Elias’ musical relationship stretches back a few years after a chance encounter at Amsterdam’s Claire nightclub. The two young DJs instantly hit it off after sharing a DJ booth and were playing b2b minutes after their initial meeting. Following a late-night trip and some home-grown hospitality around Amsterdam. Jasper returned the favour by inviting Elias to join him at Glasgow’s legendary Sub Club alongside another Dutch favourite, Tom Trago, and their friendship was firmly established.

For a number of years Elias has been a regular at Amsterdam’s most respected institutions including his residency at De School. His ‘Private Hearts’ show on Red Light Radio is a go to show on the world-famous radio station and shows his eclecticism as a selector. Elias openly admits to being passionate, emotional and sensitive, and it shows in his DJ sets which take inspiration for the music around which he grew up – Michael Jackson, Prince, Stevie Wonder – as well as from more contemporary flames like Omar-S, Zip and Beautiful Swimmers. To date he has played venerated night spots like Concrete, Sub Club, Le Sucre, Institut für Zukunft, Nitsa, objekt klein a and many others.

“When I make music and I play out, I have to open up my heart and be able to spread the same love that I get when I’m on the dancefloor,” he admits. “That warm feeling that hits my soul is the thing I aim for when producing my tracks or when I play in the club. Music is a highly emotive way of expressing myself, and when people recognize that I’m the happiest person on the planet’’

The two original tracks demonstrate his ear for sounds that span genre and time. The EP’s lead track ‘The Right Key’ is rooted in electro but borrows from the electronic palette of Kid A or Aphex, whilst maintaining enough of a dancefloor feel to make it into one of Craig Richard’s DJ sets. Vocoders and a sense of melancholy make for a unique track that anchors around a musical bassline and melodic synth pads.

On the B side ‘Driving With No Purpose’ has a more Balearic feel, again taking lead from a melodic bassline. Synthetic strings rise with more of the melancholic introspection found on the A side, walking the line elegantly between dancefloors and lonely train journeys.

Samo DJ takes his remix into all together darker territory, sharp synths sit under Elias’s melodic arpeggiators whilst drilling down into the core elements of the original. Reverb washed cymbals and synthesisers fill the mid-range and the tracks notable lack of kick drum stops the track becoming predictable.

After a year long vacation in the Bermuda Triangle the polish electronic music flagship Transatlantyk is back with a new release.

It's new course will for sure again surprise fans of the label.

When the past and the future collide, unexpected things can happen. Carioca avant-gardiste Guerrinha's Repetentes 2008 is a project that is close to our hearts and minds through its rare ability to convey deep nostalgia in a playful futuristic way, renovating a tradition that is the quintessence of their hometown's musical heritage with a zest for jest. Exactly what the offer here in two irresistible grooves that, while maintaining the clarity of references they lie upon, refresh them in a joyful way: 'Missão Misturebar' and 'Judas Preist'. With a prolific output of such a consistently high standard many do not realise that Art Of Tones has never released a solo artist album, but with this new LP on Local Talk that is soon to change.

ITCHICRICKITCH is the tweaking weirdo in the corner, the unsettling presence that invariably unites the room in the simplistic joy of judgement free release.

Next Phase Records presents two tranquil yet powerful excursions into the leftfield world of 125-130 BPM electronica.

“Had Enough Rain” by Marenn Sukie fuses jazz and soul samples with a propulsive drum pattern. Returning to a brief but very fruitful period in electronic music production, Shelved Recordings exists to look back to the golden age of the remix, with a clear view of the future it imagined.

Artists who were steered towards maverick producers, with a view to changing the rules, to re-defining the terms of what modern music should and could be.
Pioneering techniques, over-dubs and an exploratory period of pop production, resulted in many lost dub versions and mixes. Mixes, which invariably were left on the shelf, deemed too 'out there' by the bosses of the the hedonistic label managers who commissioned them.

Shelved will present a series of limited double 12" releases comprised of carefully reconstructed and rebuilt lost classics from someone who was there the first time around !

Hot off the press comes a brand-new label from veteran of the scene, Stefano Ritteri, showcasing his trademark love for obscure samples and synthesiser exploration.

The title track is a sumptuous amalgamation of analogue synths, far-reaching, left leaning samples and crisp-as-you-like drum programming. It's weird and wonderful - enticing you deeper and deeper with every added element, from the wonky glitches, to the fuzzed out, Middle Eastern guitar and exotic vocals refrains.

Take to the B side and you're hit with a rhythmic workout combining modular electronics, sci-fi infused samples and intergalactic synthwork. Rounding off the e.p. 'It isn't about that' is a downtempo beatsy number, laced with dubbed out effects and an introspective monologue about the merits of music as medium of expression.
