Armec returns to Nebulae and chooses the Spirograph Nebula as the inspiration to deliver 5 gorgeous cosmic landscapes, where mellow textures combine with ghostly atmospheres, sparkling drum sequences and crunchy acid basslines.

Back once again. This one is coming live and direct from Baltimore in the mid 90s. It is the second and final part of the Gargoyle Classics reissues and it’s packed full of juicy juicy dance floor goodness. As with the previous Gargoyle record it is raw as they come. Hitting hard whilst feeling totally impromptu and freestyled as well.

Two of the tracks are reissues from Tony & Don’s Gargoyle imprint and two of them, just like last time are never before released tracks written during the same period. Ten After 3 and Do You Believe (Space Evader Mix) are both ridiculously huge and I’m gassed outta my miiiiiind to bring them to the table for public consumption for the first time.

OK enough of my blather. Go and listen to the damn things yourself and decide if you like them, rather than trying to work it out from reading a bloody press release you weirdos.

These rare recordings were recorded as part of the legendary prescription label album series in the late 1990's that resulted in the album "Astral Disaster". Coil were invited to record at Sun Dial's studios beneath the London Bridge Hop Exchange. This studio was originally know as Samurai studios that was originally built and owned by Iron Maiden.

The premises in Victorian times was an old debtors prison which had three levels underground, and still had the original chains, manacles and wrought iron doors from the old prison. This caught the attention of John Balance and was very keen to record there.

At Gary Ramon's invitation, Coil spent a number of days recording at the studio during Halloween 1998 and they developed a number of tracks some of which resulted in the "Astral Disaster" album. For various reasons, some of the unissued material and mixes released on this album were omitted from the original Astral Disaster album, and so now is the opportunity to listen to the second volume of "The Astral Disaster sessions".

The album includes all previously unissued mixes and alternative versions, and includes "The Mothership" which was the first version that was later remade in the sessions as "The Mothership and the Fatherland".

Pamela Records is the new sister label to Moton Records Inc - the London imprint headed up by Dave Jarvis & Darren House, who have carved a name for themselves in quality and very collectable edits over the last two decades.

The legendary Andrew Weatherall had produced and written Pamela’s first EP alongside studio partner Nina Walsh before his devastating and untimely passing. The tracks were written by Andrew in a studio laboratory inside of the Woodleigh Research Facility with Nina Walsh sharing the writing credits in part and also contributing samples from her extensive arsenal of weapons.

When asked about these tracks, Andrew said “The great thing about not being signed to a major a label is that it’s liberating. No deadlines, no restraints, no pressures. The result - the creative process is completely free. There’s a blank canvas in the studio, you can pretty much go anywhere you want.”

Five years ago, Cute Heels brought his unique blend to Schrödinger’s Box with Nepotism. The Colombian now returns to the Glasgow label, this time with a mini-LP packed to the rim with stone cold quality.

Steady kicks give way to juddering bass and epic strings in the dynamic changeling that is “Beyond The War.” Shadows are cast by the EBM stained “Er Ist Nitch Du” and the smoky “Present Images” under the alias of Syndikat Komando Klub 98. Yet, despite these darker shades, the 12” is filled with brighter tones also. As Victor M Lenis R, “Breath of Freedom” beams with synth-disco laden lines. “Strange Forces” takes a similar path, chords shimmering against aquatic pads that bask in warmth. An italo streak enters with the playful melody and sun- soaked keys of “The Awake (Mexico City Mix), radiant notes countered by strong pulsing percussion.

Beyond The War is a record as diverse as its creator. Traversing a spread of styles, Cute Heels has created a 12” that blurs perceived genres whilst maintaining the energy and zeal of the club.

Goldblum is the self-titled debut by Marijn Verbiesen (Red Brut, Sweat Tongue) and Michiel Klein (Lewsberg, Sweat Tongue). The duo creates lo-fi sound collages working with flea market cassettes, tape-loops, cheap keyboards and vocals in both English and Dutch. Fragments of golden oldies, crippled rhythms, noisy outbursts and melancholic melodies come together in dreamlike songs and soundscapes, submerged in tape hiss.

Sudd WAX is a vinyl only label of Sudd Records Family. The Limited Series, starts with STK named Electronic Roots. Conceptual, contemporary, the release shows electronic aesthetic into non-labeled genre but music. Figuring out Techno, Jazz, Drum'n'bass influences, into electronic raw textures, arranging something uncommon, but sense at all.

"Kraftjerkz begins a new sublabel, KJDA, inspired by electro DJs who scratch. The keywords are visceral rhythm. A lyric from "Looking For The Perfect Beat" sums it up: "We are the future, you are the the past." Join the two DJs in celebrating a style which is inspired in part by the art of turntablism, primed to entertain a club full of serious electro heads."

Banoffee Pies Records continue their original series via a solo EP from Nikki Nair of Knoxville, Tennessee with "Number One Slugger".
A white label 12" showcasing the diversity of Nikkis bass infused productions across a range of tempos, opening with the drum heavy DJ tool "Super" with jungle swing and a vocal hook to partner.

The A2 sees the appearance of the "Slug" in a siren blaring bass rhythm strictly for dance floor usage pumped with electro distortions.
The B side introduces a more mellow mood following in similar ilk to his latest Morphism release on Gobstopper Records last year which initially caught our ear.

The B1 sees "Salt" drop the tempo to 120 bpm for a more intricately arranged array of swirling hi hats and toms and a flowing dub infused vox. The B2 flaunts an array of pulsating basslines and ASMR whispers with "Fidelity" in the more spooky insert of the bunch before the release comes to a close with "Stotch" on the B3.

A track perfect for any closing or opening set, heavily tripped with ethereal notes and subtle percussion, a conclusive ending to this 5 track EP. Best consumed late. Much love BP x.

A member of popular techno trio Agents of Time, Italian artist Fedele goes solo AF on his Turbo debut, No Mercy for Beginners. Against the backdrop of a nightmare international tour experience, Fedele channeled his negative feelings away from people and into creating darkly euromotional dancefloor catharsis. Try it sometime.

Sharp-eared lovers of listening may notice that lead track “Riot Revolte” purloins the loin jewels (the street-tough vocals) from Tiga’s 2004 classic, “Pleasure from the Bass.” DJ Hell noticed the shit out of this, introducing a mutant variation on the PFTB baseline into his lurid after-hours remix. Moreover, the entire EP recalls the legendary run of killer electro records that kicked off what many, many people refer to as Turbo’s Silver Age in the early-mid 2000s. This may be utterly meaningless, or it may herald the coming era of compressed cyclical time that will dictate dance music taste in the 2020s with the sort of mathematical precision rarely found outside pie chart software. Either way, you heard it here first.

"Idontknow" is Jamie's first solo artist release since his highly acclaimed BRIT and GRAMMY î nominated 2015 debut album In Colour. Without knowing the artist behind it, people have been raving to "Idontknow" since late autumn 2019 when Jamie first debuted the track. Since then, the track has taken on a life of its own in clubs and on dancefloors around the world, garnering huge support from the likes of Ben UFO, Four Tet, Caribou, HAAi and Bicep, or via Jamie's own residency on NTS Radio and the series of last minute, word-of-mouth parties he threw in aid of the MIND and CALM charities at north London's the Cause (where he was joined by the likes of Four Tet, HAAi and Koreless) and beyond.

Gosub’s Odd Perception EP is a six track EP to provoke a different mood then Gosub's usual pallet. These songs made him feel a certain way when he wrote and listened to them over the last few months. Surprisingly they didn’t fit other projects until they fit themselves. The universe put them together as special analog cassette tape release, to share and hopefully as with all of the Gosub productions provoke the listener’s thoughts and perception of electro music.

The Odd Perception cassette release is being released as a limited collector’s run cassette of 50 which includes additional b-side bonus tracks. Pure electro for the strong at heart.

Following a high-pressure drop on Sneaker Social Club in 2019, bass-toting instigator Low End Activist steps up with his most expansive release yet.

His sound is a perfect amalgam of elements from the hardcore continuum – at times a dark and malevolent brainstorm of grubby drums dragged through crusty samplers, future-weary textural scrapes, moody splashes of pads and of course bucketloads of crushing subs, lows and low mids all designed to rock you from the waist down. You'll hear spectres of culture past lurking in the shadows – a trip hop skit from a gaunt figure here, a riotous brawl of grime MCs there – and feel the decades of soundsystem absorption seeping off the platters. It's like the LEA reached capacity and these productions were what happened when the sponge got squeezed.

One voice cuts a more prominent figure up front though – the peerless Flowdan, lending some powerful bars to Game Theory. What needs to be said about the Pay As You Go / Roll Deep mastermind you don't already know? His flow is mightier than any sword you care to step with.

Speaking of platters, this particular release marks the first vinyl pressing for Seagrave since the BOA 12" Warp Purpose Vol. 1 back in 2015 (slated for a repress – don't sleep!). It's an occasion worth toasting, building on a powerful and varied catalogue of sub-heavy sonics operating well outside the mainstream in service to naught but the sound, all packaged in a full-colour sleeve. As an expansive double pack of seven sure shots, it's also a fitting document of a subversive operative bringing some devastating angles to the hardcore tradition.

Absolute Unity' is the new Dance Music project from Ryan Grieve, a cofounder of Hole In The Sky Records. Ryan has produced as one half of bands Canyons, Fred Cherry and Heart People, among others, with releases on labels DFA Records, Modular Recordings, Universal Music, Warner Music, Hole in the Sky & I'm A Cliche.

Returning from the haze of major record label obscurity and confusion, Absolute Unity is a return to roots with a focus on simple, raw sounds aimed for DJs to play to dance floors.

Ana Belephoneq is an electro-pop project, a collaboration of veteran synth-pop musician Ishai Adar and Maurice Sarfati R.I.P., who was a Jerusalem legend, an Arab-Jew of Tunisian descent, a poet, a singer, a rock historian and a retired Income tax investigator all rolled into one.

Ishai Adar releases electronic music albums since the 1990’s. He met Maurice Sarfati during the previous decade, when he worked in one of Jerusalem’s mythological record stores, “The Record House”. Maurice was a colorful character already then: a compulsive consumer of alternative culture by night, an income tax investigator by day, a story teller and a song writer who was born in Tunis in 1947 and immigrated to Israel in the age of

6. In “The Record House” Ishai quickly became his main supplier of new music, and later they became close friends.

In 2014, Ishai and Maurice started collaborating on an album, based on lyrics written and spoken by Maurice, and Adar’s electronic production.
In 2018 Maurice Sarfati passed away, at the age of 71. The Ana Belephoneq 7-inch record includes the only two songs the two managed to record before his death.

Multi Natural is a new example of Christina’s organic chamber music. We enter nine composed chambers. Nine rooms to inhabit, constructed out of elements that are slowly fusing. The album is a string of semi constant metamorphosis. A gesture appears, is elaborated upon—or is halted and replaced by a new gesture. Multi Natural has multi focal points, quite dissimilar to Christina’s other works that tend to have a more linear path.

Within this album lives a composer who is not afraid to let the content take over. In this, obviously composed work, there is still a large space for all those sounds to act freely. It is almost like Christina is waiting for the music to compose itself. This technique speaks of respect and trust for the listener, since it gives thelistener freedom to personally connect the lines.

When you put the needle on this record, everything turns to stone. The music flows and nurtures. Sounds that come from various realities—molded into a mutual understanding. With each spin, new events catch the ears. Like looking at alandscape, perceiving new details close and far with every gaze.

When Christina warps both time and space for you, it comes to you as a gift.

Next in line on Tessellate is London's Kylin Tyce. His previous releases on iO Mulen's OLDiViBES and Amsterdam based PIV records have gained him support from the likes of Seth Troxler, Butch, Mood II Swing and Chris Stussy.

The title track starts things off, a 2-step bumper which has a nice little switch up half way through. Further South takes things down more of a House route while still maintaining some garage flavours - a little reese bass, skippy percussion and horns etc. On the flip we have Thinkin' which is a straight up UKG banger. Finally Perception rounds things off taking the OG in a completely different direction by breaking the beats up and adding some atmosophiric pads - nice!

Midnight Resistance ist das 4. Album von The Toxic Avenger. Und zweifellos das außergewöhnlichste, bei dem seine musikalische Handschrift am besten zur Geltung kommt. Ein besonderes Highlight des Albums ist die Zusammenarbeit mit Maxence Cyrin bei dem sehr ausdrucksstarken und emotionalen Titel "On My own". Die wohl größte Überraschung dieses Al- bums besteht darin, dass Toxic Avenger bei "Les Heures" das erst Mal selbst singt und der Platte eine ganz besondere Note schenkt. Zum Abschluss beglückt Toxic Avenger mit zwei besonderen Gäste. Diese runden die Platte mit der luftigen und hedonistischen Teilnahme von Simone bei "Falling Appart" und dem Spoken Word und immer ungewöhnlichen Flow von Diamond Deuklo auf dem treffend benannten "L'Avenir d'Avant" genussvoll ab. Über zwei Jahre beschäftigte sich Toxic Avenger intensiv mit modularen Synthesizern – aus seiner leidenschaftlichen Klangforschung ist nun ein neuer Sound entstanden, der die Seele der Synthesizer "lebendiger" und organischer erscheinen lässt. Hier ist ein beeindruckendes Werk eines "Klangchirurgen" entstanden, dem es gelingt Stimmen im Detail zu sezieren und ihnen eine magische Aura zu verleihen und dabei ebenso eine intensive Reise in die Tiefen von Melodie und Klangwelten unternimmt, ohne den Fokus auf die Songs selbst zu verlieren. Hania Rani is a pianist, composer and musician who, was born in Gdansk and splits her life between Warsaw, where she makes her home, and Berlin where she studied and often works. Her debut album 'Esja', a beguiling collection of solo piano pieces on Gondwana Records was released to international acclaim on April 5th 2019 including nominations in 5 categories in the Polish music industries very own Grammys, the Fryderyki, and winning the Discovery of the Year 2019 in the Empik chain's Bestseller Awards and the prestigious Sanki award for the most interesting new face of Polish music chosen by Polish journalists. Rani also composed the music for her first full length movie "I Never Cry" directed by Piotr Domalewski and for the play "Nora" directed by Michał Zdunik. Her song "Eden" was used as a soundtrack of a short movie by Małgorzata Szumowska for Miu Miu's movie cycle "Women's Tales"

If the compositions on Esja were born out of a fascination with the piano as an instrument, then her follow-up, the expansive, cinematic, 'Home', finds Rani expanding her palate: adding vocals and subtle electronics to her music as well as being joined on some tracks by bassist Ziemowit Klimek and drummer Wojtek Warmijak. The album reunites her with recording engineers, Piotr Wieczorek and Ignacy Gruszecki (Monochrom Studio) and the tracks were again mixed again by Gijs van Klooster in his studio in Amsterdam and by Piotr Wieczorek in Warsaw ( Ombelico and Come Back Home). Home was mastered by Zino Mikorey in Berlin (known for his work on albums by artists such as Nils Frahm and Olafur Arnalds).

For Rani, 'Home', is very much a continuation of the work she started on 'Esja', "the completion of the sentence" as she puts it. The album offers a metaphorical journey: the story of places that become our home sometimes by chance, sometimes by choice. It is the story of leaving a place that is familiar and the journey that follows it. Home opens with the fragment of the short story "Loneliness" by Bruno Schulz, which can be seen as a parable of a journey that does not necessarily mean going beyond the physical door but can signify going beyond the symbolic limits of our knowledge and imagination.

"One can be lost but can find home in his inner part - which can mean many things - soul, imagination, mind, intuition, passion. I strongly believe that when being in uncertain times and living an unstable life we can still reach peace with ourselves and be able to find 'home' anywhere' This is what I would like to express with my music - one can travel the whole world but not see anything. It is not where we are going but how much we are able to see and hear things happening around us". — Hania Rani

Home is also about the inevitability of change. We never find places exactly how we left them. Time flies and life with it. Just like art and music. Once you started the trip, you will never be back really to the place where you started with. It is a sentiment that is at the heart of Home, not just its themes, but at the heart of Rani's music too. Following the success of Esja it would have been easy for her to stick to the same solo piano formula, but while Rani expresses her surprise and gratitude for the success of Esja, "I wasn't sure how this album - based on Piano and silence - will be received by the audience. The reception was a big surprise to me" it has also given her the confidence to express more of herself as an artist. On Home Rani steps into more of a producer's role, adding strings, bass and drums where needed, exploring the sounds of synths and electronica, but also creating textured layered songs made from acoustic samples, mostly from piano recordings. "I try to explore new genres and discover new artists, I don't want to be stuck in things that I know, I want to learn about things that are still new to me". But perhaps most notable is her singing, Rani has a fragile, beautiful voice, both pure and expressive. Long a feature of her live shows she uses it as another instrument, adding extra layers of melody and emotion to her already deeply expressive music.

"I consider voice as another instrument. Maybe if I wasn't so often alone on the stage, I would take another instrument to play the melody that I have in my mind. But while I am alone, singing allows me to have more possibilities at the same time. The human voice has a real magic, nothing carries emotions as easily and powerfully as the voice, and I think being able to bring this atmosphere on stage opens up new possibilities of expression for me". — Hania Rani


Home also features Rani's new band, bassist Ziemowit Klimek and drummer Wojtek Warmijak who appear on some of the albums stand out tracks, the beguiling single 'Leaving', the title track 'Home', atmospheric 'Tennen' and the beautiful 'I'll Never Find Your Soul'. After working and touring alone Rani begin to feel stuck with her own ideas and thoughts, and sounds. It was a prolific period for her compositionally, writing the music on Home, but also a film score and music for the theatre, but she felt that someone else's vision might bring new ideas to things that she already knew. Shortly before she was about to record Home she attended a concert of the young Polish jazz trio, Immortal Onion, in Gdańsk, her hometown. She liked what she heard and sked the double bassist and a drummer if they wanted to meet and something clicked. They spent most of the next week improvising and jamming on her music. This gave a whole new insight for some of the songs and brought new ideas for arrangements. And having enjoyed working together on the album Rani is looking forward to touring with the boys.

"Touring with band is a totally different thing, way more challenging technically, but it also brings a new energy and new sound possibilities. I am very curious how we will manage to bring the album to life. I would like to keep the show balanced - mixing the new textures of Home with the atmosphere of minimalistic songs from Esja." — Hania Rani

For Rani, this sense of exploring is a key part of her art. But it isn't only the music, Rani is keenly interested in art and architecture (as anyone who follows her exquisitely curated Instagram feed will know) and how her music works in the wider world.

"I try to keep my eyes and ears wide open. What I want to master in my art is how to build the right atmosphere on stage, in recordings. To do this you need to be aware of many aspects - not only music, but also the full range of gestures, acoustics, visual aspect. I want to learn how to bring particular atmosphere and bring people to a specific space. I observe how music works in different contexts, how the feeling of sound changes in different acoustics, space, light conditions. The same thing happens with artwork that I share. I feel like everything of what I am bringing to the the world and sharing with others has an impact of reception my music. If we are an inseparable part of the ecosystem, then the music should be considered similarly." — Hania Rani

The album's distinctive cover artwork was designed by the architect Łukasz Pałczyński, who combined his sketches with the stills from the music video for the song Leaving shot by her regular collaborators Mateusz Miszczyński and Jakub Stoszek in Greece and together with Rani's music and vision it is this sense of collaboration that gives Home it's power as Rani starts to give full expression to her own unique vision and perhaps the most exciting thing is that it is just another step on her journey, one that we are all lucky to be a part of!

"What do you do when the body has been through trauma? What do you do with a new body? How do you drive it?

I want to reconnect my mind to the body. I don't know whose body this is anymore. How do I rebuild my physical strength when I'm so tired? How do I accept this body and care for it?

I want to love my body. I want to accept it." (Ikonika, 2020).
