Chord Memory! The hymn for the widely used feature in 80s hardware synthesizers got some individual rewiring done. If ten fingers ain't enough Hyboid uses his Galactic Memory for punchy disco purposes while Robyrt Hecht reaches for a swinging Pivot Memory to sweep and swipe your electro habits. On the other hand Milium likes the exposed wires of his Mutiny Memory to revolt whereas CCO simulates his natural Echoic Memory with floating acid sparks. Completing the mechanical rewiring the duo Nachtzug added delicate software to Execute the algorithms and installed a Memory Loss button, if you are in need of a reset.

On remix duties is Basic Soul Unit, who saw his album released on Dekmantel end of last year. We knew he was good, but his remix exceeded each and any of our expectations. What a bomb!!! Optimo Music release REEL HOUZE's 'Optimo Music Disco Plate Two' in mid November.

Following on from the summer hit that was Noo's Optimo Disco Plate one, we are delighted to present the second plate, this one an archival release from London's Reel Houze. Reel Houze are/were Dominic Dawson and Rob Mello, and these two tracks were originally released in 1996. Big with Twitch at the time, he dug out "No Difference" again last year and started playing it once more and then did the same with "The Chance". They felt and sounded timeless so it seemed a good idea to make these Dub Disco wonders available again to a new generation.

'The Chance" is based on a sample form Dinosaur L's "Go Bang". It is nearly 11 minutes of dubbed out disco madness featuring one of thee all time greatest Moog solos, played live by Rob Mello. DJ Harvey gets frenetic on the percussion (he's playing a toilet seat!). It's loose, it's a little debauched and is further proof that disco music can be out there, wild, modern and any tempo it goddamn wants to be.

"No Difference" is the closest thing we can imagine to Basic Channel doing disco. Loose, long, extremely dubbed out and mesmeric, in the right hands it is swinging, sexy club hypnotiser.

Late 88 Acid House swept a cross the UK, as it took its hold in The Midlands, 17 year old budding DJ, locally know as Carl Boy was easy influenced by this amazing new sound and decided to purchased as much Acid as he could get his hands on and put on his own Acid House night.
2nd Sep 1988 'The Ecstasy Club' club night road block a small function room upstairs at The Power House nightclub in Birmingham. Lots of fun was had by all, the crowds chanted ACID ACID ACID into the night as they danced franticly to new funky sound of Acid House.
Less than 2 days later Birmingham's own tabloid The Sunday Mercury ran with the headline, 'SEX AND DRUGS DANCE CRAZE HITS BIRMINGHAM.'
The story went on to tell the tail of youngsters being corrupted by this evil new scene at The Ecstasy Club 2 nights before. 'This craze should be stamped on from a great height' was one Conservative MP's comment. The owners of the club the ironically named MECCA Leisure Ltd shut down the function room and banded Acid House from all its venues. This controversy caught the eye of Birmingham independent record label Swordfish Records who suggested this should be followed up by The Ecstasy Club's release of an Acid House single. Dj Carl Boy was thrust into a local studio with a Roland 101 an 808 a sequencer and an engineer. 3 hours later a track was written recorded and mix and 3 weeks later in Nov 1988 'Jesus Loves The Acid' by The Ecstasy Club was release on Swordfish Records as a 12'single. The track became one of 1st ever UK Acid House releases, sighted and favored by the likes of Aphex Twin, Carl Cox, Dave Clark, 2 many DJ's and Derrick May, over the years its also been reworked or remixed by CJ Bolland, The Glimmer Twins and The PSI Division. The track went on to sell over 30,000 copies in the UK and countless more with a multitude of European licenses. It became one of the biggest dance tracks of the time in Belgium this help with the confusion of at the time, that lots mistook it for a European Acid tune invading the UK. 28 years on The Ecstasy Club releases the 1st true new version of the track in as many years, remade from scratch using Ableton live and TAL 101 Baseline to mimic the original track, in fresh new take on this Acid House Classic, ACCCCCCCCCCIIIIIIIIIIIID.

Bohannon was one of the key forces in disco in the seventies and this is him at his best - his instantly recognisable sound is pure uncut boogie mixing riffing guitars, bad-ass funky bass and pounding drum tracks. First up is the super-rare long 12' version of 'Me & The Gang' a superbly funky track popular with everyone from Tony Humphries to Carl Craig with its great chunky beats & a killer piano groove later sampled by Paul Johnson for his hit 'Get Get Down', followed by 'The Groove I Feel' - a monstrously good floor-filling gem unearthed from his '76 album 'Dance Your Ass Off'. On the flip you get the awesome full 12.45 minute version of 'Maybe You Can Dance' another slamming disco-funk stomper only ever available as an elusive 1977 12' promo. Quality stuff!
