Next Phase Records present the second volume of the Wound Up Beat Tape series showcasing experimental downtempo music from around the world. This limited edition cassette and digital release features 11 exclusive tracks ranging from instrumental hip hop to jazz fuelled break beat.
Like the rst volume it's aim is to deliver a unique and personal auditory experience stretching an array of BPM's. This adventurous approach to compilations is reminiscent of classic Mo Wax albums that remain a constant source of inspiration for producers today.

The release begins with a delightful slew of uplifting samples and colossal drums before a trademark Next Phase excursion into unconventional fusions and monstrous soundscapes takeover.

Flipping the traditional concept of a Beat Tape on
its head the Wound Up philosophy is a clear one: to deliver a variety of fully produced tracks that demon- strate character, diversity and emotion whilst keeping that funk alive!

The cassette is limited to 100 copies with each one being personally assembled by label curator Robbert Peperkamp. This edition contains exclusive atmospheres and skits that form an enhanced cinematic style experience. It comes complete with a download/code to the digital version of the LP.

Olim in latin can be used to indicate a time in the past or in the future. It can mean 'once upon a time' and 'someday in the future'. A name and a project to try to move away from trends and genres, by taking inspiration from the past but at the same time leaving it, moving forward to shape a different and more narrative sound. The first attempt to do so is Recursively: an 8 track album, opening with a sentence from Bunny Marrett sampled from an old documentary about St Paul's and the Jamaican immigration in Bristol during the 80's. Inspired by those intro words, Recursively is a journey born from many years moving around, packing and unpacking suitcases, leaving villages, finding cities,leaving friends and finding more, emigrating, integrating. It's a story about an entire generation trying to find the peace somewhere, somehow, sometimes by repeating the same steps in a loop of actions which seem to be the same but ultimately never are. It's a soundtrack of those feelings and at the same time a message of hope to continue the journey through the faith that the meaning is the infinite journey itself. An infinite loop masterfully represented in Carol Rollo's illustration. A story to be continued.

The master tapes were lost in a fire years ago. This 2015 release was meticulously remastered from Mike Lundy's only remaining copy of the LP, which was still sealed. In 1980, Mike Lundy originally planned to record just two songs for a single. That never happened because Mike's producer realized they had enough material to do an LP. The two songs would have been The Rhythm Of Life' and Tropic Lightning".

"Instead of the drones and mostly beatless atmospheres of many previous Muslimgauze recordings, Zuriff Moussa presents quite a danceable switch for Bryn Jones. Dedicated to a Palestinian martyr, the album sounds like a cleaner version of Techno Animal, with Eastern influences instead of dub."Turkquoize Label" and"Brazil Marijuana" are surprisingly infectious, with distorted breakbeats and the patented Muslimgauze phased-channel drone. There are 24 tracks spread across more than an hour, so there isn't a large amount of time for each track, though several are presented in suites, like"Anti Arab America." 22-year-old Vienna-resident Wandl developed into one of the most progressive and interesting european producers in recent years. His longplay-debut "It's All Good Tho" brings his take on melodic vocals and experimental, bass driven instrumentals to the fore. His EPs "Milk", "Soon" and his Affine-debut "Far Way Home" stretch out his personal vision of brainfeeder-nerdism and state of the art bedroom-soul. On "It's All Good Tho" he plays almost all the instruments, channels his vocals through machines, alienates and exposes them - and he's not shy of monumental hooks.

After recording "Geld Leben" with Crack Ignaz - an album that Juice Magazine, All Good and Intro called one of the best Deutschrap-records of the decade - Wandl isolated himself and retreated to his den. Being alone in his Wandl-crib or at the studio of his labelmate, mentor, and guest on the album, Dorian Concept, he wrote songs on guitar, rhodes, violin and synth and sang cranky-beautiful sketches into his phone, that turn into post-R'n'B-gems. During the production the St.-Pölten-born multi instrumentalist temporarily moved to Hamburg to write the orchestration for the play "Der gestohlene Gott". By day he worked on the theater staging, at night he recorded vocals at the grand piano in the massive and inspiring lobby. Throughout the three performances during which he partly improvised some of the sound design, Wandl further developed his intuition.

You can hear some of that dramatic composition on "It's All Good Tho". "Fever" is an intimate Laptop-slow-jam, revealing a lot of Wandl's inner life and expresses rage, self-doubt and transcience. On the enchanting bipolar-blues "Window Color" he also touches upon death, but favors life in the end. Then on "Gay" it gets really brutal, as he sings: "I cut myself up, 'til I need some help, I bleed myself out, then I clean the floor" - before heading off to the bright sun. "Hell" with Cid Rim is as close a near-death experience can be experienced sonically. A vivid descent into hell.

Despite these (subbass-)depths and its Lo-Fi-appeal, "It's All Good Tho" is a single peak. Hopeful and pacifying. Connecting the dots between Affine-aesthetic and Hanuschplatzflow- humor, songwriter-skills and Stones-Throw-socialisation. With the trippy "0800-333-Talk" and the space battle "Drones" Wandl keeps up with futuristic beat-gods like FlyLo and HudMo. "Cola", the first single, is a straight summer-tune that fit seamlessly into mainstream-radio and shows that the timid musician must surely be Austria's next top export. And when the hypnotic loop of "Häuser" fades out, all the worries are blown away. Wandl makes sure: "It's All Good Tho"

Delights label is proud to present its new 7'' release - debut single by the Brighton-based trio MNP. The trio consists of Simon Hill (a.k.a. Beta Hector, bass) and his long-time band-mates: Toby Sendall (Baby Charles, Derriere, guitar) and Robin Mallon (Derriere, drums). Together they create a special kind of cinematic groove music, largely inspired by library and film composers of the 1960's and 70's.

The 7'' is a result of the first collaboration between MNP and the Delights label boss - the Jerusalem-based composer/producer Markey Funk. Markey played additional keys and mixed both tracks, giving them his trademark psychedelic sound.

Hailing from the Ruhr Area in Germany, the Homewreckers have a long history to look back on. A deeply personal way of consuming music these teenage experiences have never left the artists and still inspire them to this day.Transported to a world of breaks whilst in reality sat in the back seat of your parents car, these were intimate sessions of being totally consumed in music. This tape reflects how producers from around the world, whilst having wildly different upbringings, share the same nostalgic experience.This has spawned a wonderful compilation ranging from nineties boom bap to modern jazzy atmospherics. A wide spectrum of music held together with one common goal. Trans- porting you to your own back seat musical journey.Like all Next Phase releases packaging of the physical product is equally important as it's music. Attention to detail is paramount with each cassette supplied with a painstakingly hand crafted outer sleeve. These were produced by cutting individual pieces of cardboard then spraying them with paint.A paper transfer was then layered over the custom paint job before nally scratching away the paper so only the ink and paint were left. Keeping with the nostalgic theme the supplied booklet was printed using a risograph duotone. Zerolex is born in 2011 - being a prolific producer, he had formed a duet with Superpoze and in 2012 has joined Cotton Claw. In the mean time, he was also perfecting his own productions. Fed by black music and by hip-hop, the 23-year old producer hailing from Besançon, France has dug into the world of beatmaking before broadening his horizon to electronic music. Inveterate and passionate digger, he got into Dorian Concept, Dimlite, Flying Lotus and many more. But Zerolex has also grown up thanks to fated encounters - he met Zo aKa La Chauve- Souris, Lilea Narrative and Yoggy One, who became his first influences into the electronic scene. That being prior he joins them on stage under the moniker Cotton Claw. The Cotton Claw experience has thus enabled him to explore new musical fields and experiment more. Those familiar with OKADA's work will find his beat-work as an

The second of two EM Records 12" "tribute releases" in support of the Kuzoku film "Bangkok Nites", this time by rap group stillichimiya, local heroes in their Yamanashi homeland. Based on samples from Dao Bandon's biggest hit, the classic luk thung Isan tune "Man on a Water Buffalo" (EM1131CD/LP), the tracks here, including a remix by Compuma, are a grittier, real-world counterpart to the dreamy first release in the series.

Representing the city's capacity for grooves far beyond industrial strength techno and endless sunrise hedonism sessions, U Know Me's tendrils tickle the city's most soulful underbelly. Warsoul are the consummate kindred spirits. A collective of artists, musicians, writers and promoters founded by Maceo Wyro, Warsoul have hosted some of the city's most distinctive, idiosyncratic events from silent movie festivals to monthly sessions where world-renowned artists such as 7 Samurai, Mark De Clive-Lowe, Sa-Ra, Little Drago

Recorded in 2006 and shelved until today -All Over Thereorbits the outer leftfield regions of known hip-hop galaxies. MC A's double, triple, quadruple tracked vocals are thrown around the mic like a nipponDanny Brownriding Aquadab's "Jan JelinekmeetsTimbaland" productions (his words).

Composed and resampled entirely on MPC 1000 and Kaoss pad - Aquadab claims most tracks were made in sub-2 hour improvised sessions. MC A's vox exist to us only as texture and punctuation -we're assured the lyrics are too abstract to translate(English titles have been provided for iTunes purposes).

The results are as unique as the artists involved are generally unknown. Aquadab has scored a lone remix on Japanese imprintAun Muteand MC A can be found on a few tracks by local hip-hop acts likeDJ Motive. Aquadab lives in Osaka - home to Bokeh alumni DJ Ground and Kabamix. MC A hails from Gifu, widely known as the home of Japan's master cormorant fishermen.
