And that's the short list of lists. Get On Down will now be issuing every single cut from Enter The Wu-Tang as a 7' single.

(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay' will be released as a 7' single on gold vinyl to mark the golden anniversary of 50 years since the single's release. The track continues to transcend generations, holding the distinction of being one of a handful of songs from the '60s to have over 100 million streams on Spotify.

A detailed reproduction of the original mono single, it features the B-Side Sweet Lorene,' is branded as a Volt release, and comes in a die-cut sleeve like those used by Atlantic Records, which was distributed Stax/Volt Records at the time.

This single includes the rare, original version of the song, which is shorter and with Redding's vocals noticeably lower in the mix. This original version was quickly pulled after a brief release and replaced with the version that the world has known ever since. This anniversary 7-inch marks the first time the original version has appeared on vinyl since the initial release in 1968.

In the whole history of hip-hop music, few groups can claim to have been as influential and important as Joseph Saddler's group Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five. Many of the genre's signature elements and trademarks can be traced back to the supergroup founded by the Grandmaster, their discography was among the first to feature recordings of scratching and turntablism, their's was the first to feature songs with political and social commentary, they were the first to refer to rappers as "MC's", some might even say they were the group that first coined the term "hip-hop." Though Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five was considered the number one hip-hop group on their home turf of New York City, they only maintained a following on a local level, performing and releasing
singles exclusively on the East Coast. It wasn't until the release of Sugar Hill Gang's "Rapper's Delight" that the group realized they could break into the mainstream. After signing with Sugar Hill Records, the group released their debut album The Message in 1982. Bolstered by Flash's deft turntablism, rappers Melle Mel, Kidd Creole, and Keef Cowboy's vocals, and production which sampled everything from Chic to the Tom Tom Club to The Jimmy Castor Bunch, The Message was a revelation of sorts. More than simply being a Billboard hit for the group, the album helped cement hip-hop's credibility with mainstream audiences, and is considered a major achievement in hip-hop history. The album's title track was especially praised, and is considered one of the greatest rap tracks in music history.

Named for her first two big British hits, Stay Awhile-I Only Want To Be With You was Dusty's American album debut in June 1964. Both of these timeless singles are included, along with the rare flip side 'Something Special' and UK EP cut 'Every Day I Have To Cry.' The rest of the tracklist is drawn from the singers first UK album, and includes her thrilling interpretations of choice Motown and girl group gems like Lesley Gore's empowerment anthem 'You Don't Own Me' and the Bacharach classic '24 Hours From Tulsa.' Dusty shared the same striking cover photo as that UK album, but its contents were completely different. Originally released in November 1964, this well-programmed disc features the US-only single 'All Cried Out' and two of Dusty's signature performances in the ballads 'I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself,' and 'My Coloring Book.' Several songs such as 'I Wish I'd Never Loved You' and 'Summer Is Over' were B-sides or EP cuts elsewhere, and tracks like 'Guess Who' would not even see release in the UK until the CD era. One of Dusty's rarest and most desirable albums from this era, Ooooooweeee!!!, issued in March 1965 was another fascinating potpourri of UK singles tracks, stray EP and LP cuts, and material initially exclusive to the release. Amongst the latter were several songs Springfield recorded in New York such as 'Here She Comes' and 'If Wishes Could Be Kisses,' the mono takes of which have different vocal parts to the stereo. Before Bob Marley came on the scene, many in Britain dismissed reggae as either the stuff of one-hit wonders or skinhead
dance music. Now it is recognised as influential style, which has not only sold millions of records worldwide but had a major effect on the mainstream. But only a few of his fans realise the man's recording career was as lengthy as it was: though he died aged just 36 in 1981, he'd been active in the studio since 1962 onwards.Despite some of the tracks featured here would be re-recorded on later albums, these 'prototypes' exhibit a rough-hewn, soulful feeling. Paid in Full is the debut album of American hip hop duo Eric B. & Rakim, released on July 7, 1987, by Island-subsidiary label 4th & B'way Records. The duo recorded the album at hip hop producer Marley Marl's home studio and Power Play Studios in New York City, following Rakim's response to Eric B.'s search for a rapper to complement his disc jockey work in 1985. The album peaked at number fifty-eight on the Billboard 200 chart and produced five singles, "Eric B. Is President", "I Ain't No Joke", "I Know You Got Soul", "Move the Crowd", and "Paid in Full".
Paid in Full is credited as a benchmark album of the golden age hip hop. Rakim's rapping, which pioneered the use of internal rhymes in hip hop, set a higher standard of lyricism in the genre and served as a template for future rappers. The album's heavy sampling by Eric B. became influential in hip hop production. The record has sold over a million copies and the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified it platinum in 1995. In 2003, the album was ranked number 228 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

It was five months before his debut album Radio hit the shelves. Is was less than a year before he celebrated his 18th birthday. And it was possibly the first ever hip-hop performance in the state of Maine. A baby-faced LL Cool J visited Colby College in Maine in 1985 and introduced hip hop to a state that knew little of it. LL broke down all four aspects of hip hop culture to the sparse crowd in attendance: emceeing, DJing, breakdancing and graffiti. It was an epic performance that truly sends shivers down your spine at witnessing the birth of hip hop outside the inner city. A must have for any true fan of the origins of hip hop.

Since his untimely death at the all too young age of 32 the world has grown to appreciate the work of J Dilla even more than when he was alive. It now resides in the Smithsonian. Due the prolific nature of his beat making, the world is blessed to have stacks of Dilla material - some coming to light even this many years after his passing. The mark that the late producer J Dilla left upon hip-hop during the 90s and early-to-mid 00s is undeniable, and his work with De La Soul, Busta Rhymes, The Pharcyde, and many more has long been cemented in the annals of hip-hop history. It was during his time as a member of seminal Detroit group Slum Village however that ranks as among his greatest. His work with rappers Baatin and T3 would be a strong influence upon modern rappers like Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar, and earn widespread critical praise, and comparisons to other legendary groups like A Tribe Called Quest. In speaking retrospectively on their most famous album "Fan-Tas-Tic Vol. 1", The Roots' drummer Questlove has said of the release that it "single-handedly birthed neo-soul." J Dilla has been gone for over 10 years now, and Slum Village has moved on from their time with the legendary beatsmith, recruiting new members along the way. Despite this, new Dilla compositions are still being discovered, and his legacy continues to be shared and celebrated with a modern hip-hop audience. Ne'Astra Music Group now presents a new compilation of rare Dilla material: Vol. 0. Ten tracks featuring the classic Slum Village lineup of Dilla on vocals and production, with Baatin & T3 also on the mic, collected by modern SV member Young RJ from unreleased material and demos recorded between 1994 and 1997. The knowledgable hip-hop head may recognize key tracks from the circulated EPHCY Sessions, while others have never seen the light of day. A piece of hip-hop history that would have otherwise wallowed in obscurity, until now.
