By the time Mobb Deep hit with their third album - Hell On Earth - they were solidified street legends. Coming off the critically acclaimed The Infamous, Havoc and Prodigy hit the lab and came back with a soundtrack that is fitting to its title. Havoc's production is atmospheric, laced with his trademark drums loops and sharp pianos stabs. Add Prodigy's trademark flow and it's evident that the pairing is such an amazing match. While Hell On Earth is essentially a continuation of The Infamous you can still hear the
growth in both performers and Hell On Earth stands as some of their best work. The album features guest appearances by Nas, Raekwon, Method Man, and frequent collaborator Big Noyd. "2001 is the second studio album by Dr. Dre. It was released on November 16, 1999, by Interscope Records as the follow-up to his 1992 debut album The Chronic. The record was produced primarily by Dr. Dre and Mel-Man, as well as Lord Finesse, and features several guest contributions from fellow rappers such as The D.O.C., Hittman, Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Xzibit, Eminem, and Nate Dogg. 2001 exhibits an expansion on Dre’s debut G-funk sound and contains gangsta rap themes such as violence, promiscuity, drug use, street gangs, sex and crime.

Life After Death is the second studio album by The Notorious B.I.G. released originally on March 25, 1997. A 3LP album was released posthumously following his death on March 9, 1997. The Album was nominated for three Grammy Awards in 1998 and is considered by music writers as one of the most seminal Mafioso rap albums. The album features collaborations with guest artists such as 112, Jay-Z, Lil' Kim, Mase, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony and several more.

2017 marks the albums 20th anniversary as well as 20 years of his passing. This release has not been in the marketplace for several years and is being re-pressed on black vinyl.

Soul Jazz Records' new Boombox 2 is a new selection of early rap music from the period 1979-83, with barely a household name in sight. Featured here are some the earliest hip-hop records that came out of New York City following the enormous commercial success of the first ever rap record, 'Rapper's Delight' by the Sugarhill Gang, in September 1979.

Artists and producers alike tried to jump aboard the new commercial possibilities of hip-hop. By the end of the year there were 30 hip-hop singles, all released by independent New York labels. The following year there were over 100 more, and so on.

Boombox 2 tells the story of how hip-hop went from its evolutionary roots in the Bronx through DJs Kool Herc, Grandmaster Flash and Afrika Bambaataa through to its second phase where veteran music producers - Paul Winley, Peter Brown, Joe Robinson and others - all based in Harlem, began to put rap on vinyl for the first time.

Harlem is also where the separate worlds of disco and hip-hop met through the styles and influence of earlier 'uptown' DJs - DJ Hollywood and Eddie Cheba. In similar fashion these veteran Harlem-based producers instinctively tapped into a long lineage of African-American rhythm and blues, soul and disco.

This sound recording contains re-recorded and Live tracks. All single artist tracks are performed by the original artist. Tracks featuring groups were recorded using as many original members as possible.

His voice had become the dominant force in the gospel sales prior to the release of “You Send Me” and ‘Summertime.” He was destined to become a major force in pop just as he had been in gospel.

While this newly re-mastered collection includes standards and hits that had been associated with artists who came before Sam Cooke, Sam’s fresh approach made the repertoire his own and helped shape his own song-writing skills in a very tangible way.

Within this period, Sam Cooke defined himself as a voice ahead of his time. His debut album, Sam Cooke, also known as Songs by Sam Cooke, was released in 1958, Encore followed quickly. Tramp Records, specializing in unearthing forgotten pearls of musical art, documents with "Golden Hits", an era of Munich underground Hip Hop which flew completely under the radar, spanning ten years from 2005 to 2015. When Masta Ace had a live show at the legendary Atomic Cafe, Primatune's Fid Rizz was able to hand over a CD with demo beats. Unfortunately the CD was blank by mistake! But the curiosity of Masta Ace had been piqued, and he got back to him, the rest is history. Features of other stateside rap heroes like Wordsworth or Declaime followed.

The very best of this era, including tracks never before heard and ideas remaining fragmented, has now been compiled by Tramp Records to take you for a fascinating listening journey.
