Burroughs and his executor James Grauerholz to starting the daunting task to compile the experimental sounds works of Burroughs, which, up until that point, had never been heard. During those visits, Burroughs would play back his tape recorder experiments featuring his spoken word 'cut-ups', collaged field recordings from his travels and his flirtations with EVP recording techniques, pioneered by Latvian intellectual Konstantins Raudive. Throughout the next year, P-Orridge, Christopherson and Grauerholz would spent countless hours compiling various edits, each collection showcasing Burroughs sensitive ear and keen experimental prowess for audio anomaly within technical limitations. By the time 1981 came through, Burroughs had relocated to Lawrence, KS in which to escape the violence and mania of New York City life. It is in Lawrence that P-Orridge and Christopherson put the finishing touches on the record that would be known as 'Nothing Here Now but the Recordings'. The album would come out in the Spring of 1981 as the final release for the shuttering Industrial Records, brought about by the dissolution of Throbbing Gristle. The album remained out of print until 1998 when John Giorno and the Giorno Poetry Systems included the album on a multi-disc retrospective CD box set compiling the majority of Burroughs seminal recordings.

Following his collaborative 'BocaWoody' EP with Bristol's Boca 45 earlier this year, October sees the release of the debut solo
album from the Lancashire (UK) born World Champion turntablist.
'The Point Of Contact' is hand crafted electronic music born from a collection of disparate dusty vinyl samples, reinterpreted
by a cast of Manchester's finest musicians (including Christian Madden (The Earlies), Carl Sharrocks (808 State), Nick Blacka
(GoGo Penguin) and Matthew Halsall) and returned to vinyl to be re-imagined by the hands of one of the Worlds most accom-
plished scratch DJs.
The process alone makes the music irrefutably routed in hip hop, however the album takes in influences ranging from jazz-rock,
britcore rap, psychedelia and electronica with Woody jokingly referring to it as 'Prog-Hop'. In contrast to many DJ records
centred around abstract, comedy or battle cut-ups, this record draws on real life experience and introspection to inject an
honesty and soul to the work.

Whilst the textured instrumentation sets the tone throughout the album, select spoken word samples serve as a narration of the
internal monologue that guides our outlook and shapes our reality, taking the listener on a voyage through inner-space.
Released on double vinyl and illustrated by Woody himself, the package includes download card and a special bonus 12'
scratch record made entirely from samples and stems from the album.
The live set includes key players in the recording, Christian Madden (keyboards) and Carl Sharrocks (drums) and premiers at the
2016 DMC World Championships at the 02 Forum in London on 24th September. This is followed by a series of performances in
LA for DJCIty, Serato and BPM Supreme.

Twenty years ago William S. Burroughs was asked to record an audio version of his favourite parts of Naked Lunch. Hal Willner and James Grauerholz produced several sessions and recruited a team of world class musicians to help.



Famed for their Naked City involvement Bill Frisell and Wayne Horowitz contributed their genius as well as Eyvind Kang just to name a few. The recordings were then abandoned and collecting dust on a musty shelf as forgotten as a piece of rancid ectoplasm on a peepshow floor.



In 2015 Hal Willner decided to re-open this unfinished masterpiece and asked help from King Khan [a musician that he and Lou Reed admired and became fast friends with after two fiery performances by The King Khan & BBQ Show at Lou and Laurie's request in the Sydney Opera House]. Hal sent Khan all of the recordings and asked him to add his gris gris to this extremely perverted gumbo... and history was made and the scum began to rise.

"Leaves Of Grass" is a collaborative EP between Tarwater, alva noto and Iggy Pop. Each of the seven featured tracks scores a poem by American wordsmith Walt Whitman. Iggy Pop contributes spoken word recordings, while Tarwater and alva noto create the music.

The EP lends its title from Whitman's main work 'Leaves Of Grass'. It channels forces from exceptional artists: Carsten Nicolai, aka alva noto, is a renowned artist and electronic producer. He is well-known for his diverse electronic work released through Mille Plateaux or his own label Raster-Noton. His first recordings had a huge impact on what was called 'Clicks & Cuts' in the late 90s. At the same time, Ronald Lippok and Bernd Jestram began their pioneering work: As Tarwater they pushed the last existing boundaries between electronic music, new wave and indie culture with their idiosyncratic music, which was hard to describe without using the prefix 'post-'.

As you may have heard, the career of Iggy Pop started back in the 1960s. In 1967 he formed The Stooges and was later deemed 'Godfather Of Punk'. For this EP he lends his distinctive voice to seven poems by Walt Whitman, while Tarwater and alva noto create a vibrant and ever-pulsating score, sometimes calm, sometimes plodding and monolithic.

"You know, I think he had something like Elvis. Like Elvis ahead of his time, one of the first manic American populists. You know you're looking at pictures of him, and he was obviously someone who was very much involved with his own physical appearance. His poetry is always about motion and rushing ahead, and crazy love and blood pushing through the body. He would have been the perfect gangster rapper. Whitman says, even the most beautiful face is not as beautiful as the body. And to say that in the middle of the 19th century is outrageous. It's a slap in the face. Look at the popular, well-educated poets of the time, those sensitive noblemen. But Whitman writes: "Fuck ass."

After being half a year absent from the outside world, Good Ratio Music presents us their new release from Little Big Orchestra who is showing us his first work ever done, named Experiment 626. It contents a bunch of mysterial sounds clashing with deep, dark sequences, which makes this creation stepping out of the usually offered tones of GRM. The music unlocks a very intimate side of the artist, songs made by broken beats, pitched voices and profound themes will drift the listener to another universe. The precise red line through this selection processed playing with contrasting fragile and strong metallic tones makes it an unique and special piece. The remixer for this occasion is no one less than the genius Tin Man (Absurd, Key Of Life), who transformed the track Toys & Diamonds into a more solid, slow techno rhythmic version, once in a vocal rework, recorded by himself and the other one into a dub version.

Uncanny Valley introduces the next artist from the UV010 compilation with his solo debut. This time it's Scherbe and his 'Jardin Du Midi-EP'. And what he delivers is pure Deep House goodness. First of all, 'College Dropout' makes clear that a lashing snare can never be wrong. With that infectious xylophone loop and slightly devilish strings dropping out of college doesn't sound like the worst option. 'Arts Is Movin Butts' fulfils what the name suggests. Even though those butts have to move very skilfully while dancing to such a lurching rhythm. 'Jardin du Midi' is another perfect example that it sometimes just needs a catchy house beat and masterful sample work. Combining such a wonderful vocal snippet and those typical railway drums is Scherbe to the core. 'Endlezz Cinema' on the other hand is an absolute earwig. The bass line won't leave your head for quite a while. Lovely strings and folky background guitars help to keep the magic. A long-awaited release, this is the 7” version of the Bob Dylan Classic “Blind Willie McTell”, out exclusively on black vinyl on August 20, 2021. The record will be available only at indie record stores and the Third Man Records online and physical stores. The 7” features two previously unreleased takes of the song, with the A-side being exclusive to this vinyl release. The B-side (take 5) will be included as part of Spring In New York: The Bootleg Series, Vol. 16 (1980-1985). The recordings on this single feature a formidable lineup of session musicians, including Mark Knopfler, Mick Taylor, Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare. “Blind Willie McTell” was the first track seriously worked on at the Infidels sessions and the last attempted as recording concluded almost a month later. In the end, it did not make the Infidels album, but in 1991, the acoustic piano-guitar version that Bob Dylan and Mark Knopfler recorded the last day was released on The Bootleg Series Volumes 1-3. The full band version from the first day of the sessions will now see the light of day as part of Springtime In New York: The Bootleg Series, Vol. 16 (1980-1985). The edition that marks the start of the brand-new Comets Coming could not be more suitable: it is that Rodrigo Brandão, like his grandfather Herman Poole Blount, dust of stars that the world knows as Sun Ra, may have his feet on the Earth, but he has definitely a sidereal head.

Brandão arrived recently to Portugal, but already left a strong mark in the most adventurous Lisbon scene, having performed several concerts in which his language has been wrapped in the exploratory sounds of musicians such as Rodrigo Amado, João Valinho, and Hernâni Faustino. The agitator, poet and spoken word artist, brought a vast experience that over the years saw him collaborate with artists as distinct as the members of Metá Metá or Prince Paul (that one!) on BROOKZILL!.

This work, however, came in his luggage, across the ocean, on the rediscovery trip that brought him from Brazil to Lisbon. OUTROS ESPAÇO was recorded in São Paulo in late 2019 with a luxury crew: Tulipa Ruiz and Juçara Marçal added to the microphone, Thiago França played flute and alto & tenor saxophones, Guilherme Granado dealt with the synthesizers and effects, Marcos Gerez measured the overall pulse with his electric bass, Thomas Rohrer played soprano and 'rabeca' (fiddle), and Paulo Santos dealt with the percussion. In addition to the base band, OUTROS ESPAÇO also features some members of Sun Ra Arkestra's current incarnation. Respectively: Danny Thompson (RIP) on baritone and bongo, Elson Nascimento on 'surdo' (tom drum), Knoel Scott on tenor and soprano, with the giant Marshall Allen in a prominent role leading the collective towards the unknown, while playing the alto sax and synthesizer.

In OUTROS ESPAÇO, Brandão reaches for words from different origins, from contrasting times and cultures, all with magnetic resonance imaging: what is not from his furrow comes to him from Candomblé (“Quando Os Orixás Desfilam Sobre A Cracolândia”), from his readings of Sun Ra (“Eu Sou 1 Instrumento” is an adaptation of the poem I Am An Instrument), or from the school's playgrounds (“Jamais Nos Esqueceremos”). And in these words there are teeth and nails ingrained in injustice (“Quantos Coltrane...?, “Todo o Dia Tem +”) and kaleidoscopic delusions that result from the speed of light (“Sol da Meia Noite”).

The crew that travels through these OUTROS ESPAÇO (PT for "Other Spaces") has freedom as the main fuel, jazz as a measure of their reach, and all swings in the world as maps, so they can lose themselves at the end of the cosmos. There is urgency and reflection, craziness and precision, surprise and well-known ancestral raw material, that makes us vibrate inwardly with the same trembling as the comets that are coming.

The visionary and veteran Scotty Hard was responsible for making everything sound like the music of the spheres, dealing with the mixing from his INGUASONIC SOUND studio in Brooklyn, NY.

And lastly, in January, Rob Mazurek, another frequent ally of Brandão, another notorious space traveler, offered a poem that frames this project. Among other things, he writes:

Dave Chappelle's viral video "8:46". The video was YouTube's top trending video of 2020 with over 30 million views. The video and subsequent album are a searing rumination in the aftermath of the murder of George Floyd that ignited worldwide outrage and led to protests on race inequality, police brutality and the criminal justice system. Filmed in Ohio on June 6, during the COVID-19 lockdown, "8:46" addresses one deadly plague, while in the grips of another. The B-side of the album features poet Amir Sulaiman's performance of "My Insides Out" and "We Must Win," also recorded in Ohio. It also includes "White Noise," 8 minutes and 46 seconds of silence in remembrance of George Floyd and the countless victims of police brutality and systemic racism. The album cover and artwork features performance and backstage photos from Chappelle's performance as well as images from various George Floyd protests in Los Angeles, CA, all taken by Grammy-nominated artists and photographer Mathieu Britton.

The album is presented in a spectacular red/silver pressing with beautiful cover/inner sleeve artwork from Nick Taylor.

Dean Honer:
In 2015 I edited various pieces of music I had written on an EMS Synthi and a tape echo, into one hour long piece. I didn't know what to do with it. I knew Will (Goddard) from his Supreme Vagabond Craftsman records. I liked his writing style, always a bit twisted. I also knew that he wouldn't be put off by my atonal discordant Synthi burblings. So I asked him to write a sci-fi story to put over the music.

He came up with Frogman. I loved that it was set locally to Sheffield in the Peak District, a place that I am very familiar with. That gentle yet dramatic landscape was perfect for an alien/viral incursion. It had the bleak English atmosphere of classics such as Quartermass and Threads.

The idea developed into a play voiced by various characters rather than a solo narrator. Therefore we adapted and created new music to reflect the characters and the narrative. But much of the original Synthi score is still present.

The Frogman became unnervingly prescient with the outbreak of the Covid pandemic. The splits in society, anti vax Vs pro vax, leave Vs remain, and the fragility of a "civilised " society.

Staying in a B&B on the south coast about 15 years ago, I was given a map which the owner had hand drawn and photocopied for guests to find local chippies and nice pubs. The map featured a bizarre symbol among the spaghetti of wiggly lines depicting local streets: a sort of series of circles encasing triangles within a flaming star shape. It looked faintly occult. I went to the spot indicated by the symbol hoping to find some kind of spiritual inundation. It was a lorry park.

I started to wonder what would happen if large objects appeared all over the world and seemed to draw people to them in a sort of religious pilgrimage; people walking from one to another and entering a state of ecstasy when they arrived. I liked the cosy catastrophe novels of the '60s, John Christopher and John Wyndham, and the 'slipstream' weirdness of M John Harrison. I particularly liked Christopher Priest's novel 'Fugue for a Darkening Island' and decided to rip off its fragmentary structure. I seem to remember buying a copy of Sam Delaney's 'Dahlgren' on the same trip. I liked the idea that a certain proportion of the world's population would be drawn into these religious pilgrimages and become a sort of shifting population of maligned devotees with an incomprehensible clicking language. This idea kicked around for a few years but I'm no good at writing fiction. When Dean mentioned a science fiction story with a sort of electronic score it seemed it could finally come to life.

The BBC’s Third Programme aired four radio broadcasts between January 1964 and September 1965, collectively known as Inventions for Radio.

They were ground-breaking in both form and content, conceived by playwright Barry Bermange and consisting of the voices of the general public answering questions on four themes,

one for each programme: dreams, the existence of God, life after death and ageing. At a time when it was unheard of to give a media platform to anyone perceived as being of

low socio-economic status, the broadcasts generated many complaints for the “rough” voices of its participants.



Delia Derbyshire was assigned by the Radiophonic Workshop to edit and add electronic music/ effects.

The collaborative result is dreamlike and mesmerizing, an audial window to another era.

For many years Derbyshire was not credited for her contribution, nor were the broadcasts available commercially, although they still managed to acquire something of a cult following.



This boxset includes one LP for each broadcast and two further LPs of additional material.

There is a 20-page booklet with extensive notes by Mark Ayres (Producer) and David Butler, (one of the lead researchers and

curators of the Delia Derbyshire Archive and co-founder of Delia Derbyshire Day).

The insight into Derbyshire’s archive, her music and its influences and her collaboration with Bermange is fascinating, providing context for

these extraordinary pieces which have been the most elusive of Twentieth Century classics until now.

Written in 1971 and read here by the author himself "Through the Billboard Promised Land Without Ever Stopping" is Derek Jarman's only known work of narrative fiction. Providing a prelude to some of the imagery Derek Jarman would use later in his career, particularly the alchemical dreamscapes in the film "Blue", it is a surreal, hallucinatory fairytale, signposted with elements of modernity, that has much of the mythic and archetypal about it. With tantalising autobiographical details and a panoply of chromatic landscapes and psychosexual symbols, this richly poetic story details a journey with no destination or purpose across a mythical America, undertaken by the young blind King Amethyst and his valet John. Previously only ever released on cassette (2022, Prototype Publishing, Ltd 80), this vinyl edition features facsimile images of the story's handwritten drafts from Jarman's archive and photos by the artist Michael Ginsborg, a close friend of Jarman's throughout the period of the story's writing.
