Gangstarr, Queen Latifah, The Jungle Brothers and many more. Without giving away too many clues, the rest of the ep
contains other breakbeat reworks of classic tracks that mean an awful lot to those that know. These tracks are tributes to
their respected originators. In this day of slick over produced copy cat music, it's refreshing to hear the increasingly rare
style of raw, fun, cut and paste music done only for the love of the music.

I first met Ben Westbeech (BrEaCh) at a dinner in London. He was sitting across from me and I found out he made 'Fatherless' a year ago which interested me right away. We got to chatting and the conversation took an unexpected turn and i heard the following story. As a kid BrEaCh grew up in Hertford, north of London, where early UK rave pioneers like Omni Trio and 2 Bad Mice where from. His Dad was friends with 2 Bad Mice and was surrounded by musicians and DJs. 2 Bad Mice had a friend called Paul, aka DJ Cra$Y. He used to make tunes back in the early rave days but sadly did too many pills and went mad. When Paul was taken into mental care his old dat format tapes got left at BrEaCh's Dad's house. 20 years later, BrEaCh found them in the garage in and old box marked 'music.' He started listening through and found some cool old jungle vibes going on. The tracks 'Just - E' and 'I Need You' are remixes of two of the tracks found on the old DJ Cra$Y recording sessions... These are a rare hybrid crossover records between jungle and house and they are massive. So peace to Dj Cra$y wherever you are and respect to BrEaCh for putting these together. best, VonStroke.

The last Siriusmo release, the 42 track compilation "Pearls & Embarassments: 2000-2010" (MTR13CD), has been released almost a year ago, just shortly after the critically acclaimed debut album "Mosaik" (MTR10CD). In the past months Siriusmo has locked himself into the studio to work on a new album. No gigs, no releases. Silence. "Doctor Beak's Rantanplant" is meant to shorten the waiting time with some pleasurable Siriusmo entertainment. The 3 tracks here give you a hint on what to expect from the yet untitled next album planned for end of the year. But maybe the album will sound completely different With Siriusmo you never know.

Feadz and Kito met in 2008 at a music festival in Australia and bonded instantly over their passion for
music and music production. The pair kept in contact over the years and met up a number of times when
hey found themselves in the same city. In 2011 Feadz invited Kito to visit him in Paris to work on some
music. After a week in the studio an exciting new project was born; a project that celebrates their mutual
ove for techno music.

Another new week marks another new entrant in the Cargo Hall of Flame, this time in the shape of the mighty Roska Kicks And Snares label, helmed by near-legendary Rinse FM DJ and production-don Roska (Rinse, Tectonic, Hotflush, numbers etc). Delivering a tidy vinyl-only third installment of the Roska Allstars EP series to showcase selected stormers from the label's recent download offerings, 'RKS Allstars Volume 3' brings on more vital sounds and flavoursome movements from three stalwarts of the funky-grime-bass-garage-house-polyscene currently conquering tasteful UK floors and speakers. Holding down the A-side is 'Selecta' by the prodigiously-talented Champion, peppered with bad boy vocals and rude wheelbacks that serve the dancefloor vibe generously. Champion's masterful use of bass is to the fore, serving as sturdy groundwork for a tune whose main hook switches from low rumbles to higher-pitched shakes to keep heads nodding and feet moving. On the flip, MA1's 'Bassbox' continues the ecstatic vibe with an increasingly hyperactive and modulating synth which swaps and chops throughout the track to dizzying degrees, whilst the bass and drum claps keep it masterfully steady. Finally, funky hardleader DJ Naughty applies the polish on 'Unstoppable', an equally rude workout. Starting off with vibes galore in the form of a crucial drum pattern which urges movement from the get up and go, the cut's progression continues a-pace with added dramatic melodic intervals and a lightheaded and ecstatic top-end tone which gradually moves on to darker territory as the track develops. All three contributions represent the many sides to the label and cap a crucial hat-trick of unsurpassable rhythms coming from Roska Kicks And Snares right about now.

YSE's debut for Winding Road plays a full hand of ghetto deepness, party shouting, kooky weirdness, and superslick production. Innocence is a dark nugget of synthetic funk, laced with twisted vocals around slabs of slippery techno bass - brilliant and insane. Happy Bubble is a shouty blockparty rave track, sounding like Basement Jaxx at midnight in a NASA flotation chamber. Substitute is a zoned out tracky gangsta groove sounding like the Southport rave cabin.

After various false starts and missed deadlines the time has come for the one and only DRMCNT to get things on the boil with the so aptly named 'Gangsigns ep'. just before a summer 2011 move to Japan he dropped these off at gangsigns towers - a fully realised set of bass jumpers that wouldn't be out of place on an Underground Resistance, Swamp81 or Frictional release.

With the release of his eagerly anticipated album 'The Politics of Envy' fast approaching (due March 26th), Mark Stewart has announced his first single 'Autonomia' a no-holds-barred collision with long-time fans Primal Scream.

It has been remixed by two heavyweight champions of the underground, Pinch and JD Twitch. Pinch loads up on dark and brooding, with a stripped and dubby Shackleton-esque interpretation, while Twitch opts for a warped and slo-mo, acid-licked stomp. Both offering, deliciously moody interpretations of the first single from the upcoming Mark Stewart album 'The Politics of Envy'.



'Autonomia', a dense agit-protest superfunk monster with sirens and Bobby Gillespie's frenetic 'keeping the dream alive' call-and-response chant with Stewart who explains the story behind the song - 'I'd written this song about a guy called Carlo Giuliani, who was killed at the G8 demonstrations in Genoa, this kind of autonomist bloke. At that point, it was kind of like a protest song ... afterwards I started getting on with Bobby, who was interested in politics and I asked Adrian [Sherwood] about doing it. It's important that people hear about the story, it's the message and the atmosphere as much as anything.'



Stewart's scathing political barbs with the Pop Group and beyond, heavily informed Primal Scream's ferociously politicised Xtmntr and other works. With the intensity of Stewart's latest body of work back to red alert, this apocalyptic collaboration, made possible by the two camps' lengthy associations with Adrian Sherwood, has been further honed into a heat-seeking radio edit.

7 tracks on the new Lowriders release and it's a real joy to listen to! The ep opens with the cheerful title track with the likes of Kissey on vocals and it is amazingly sticky and feels like a compendium of 30 years of electronic music, with seemingly effortless transitions between detroit house, booty bass and future music.

Following the huge success of xxxy's summer anthem 'Open Your Eyes', Orca Recordings is back to deliver its highly anticipated fifth instalment; which sees Canadian born artist XI return to the label for his third release on the label.With his new outing on Orca, XI's musical style has evolved considerably to incorporate a whole new set of influences and ideas. This bold move coincides with his imminent arrival in Berlin, which leads us to proudly announce that the productions set for release in the Orca series are 'Immunity' and 'Squeeze'.'Immunity' sees XI venture into new sonic territory, dropping the bpm to a tempo usually applied to house & techno, but this track keeps all the swing and swagger of the finest UK garage record. This combined with XI's trademark palette of sonic textures, vocal edits and a nod to the haziest of west coast hip-hop has created a deeply original composition with a unique vibe.On the flip, 'Squeeze' is another experiment into this freshly styled structure that XI has created, but with the dance floor more in mind. The introduction breeds tension as the drums roll from side to side, before a patterned vocal stab is brought in to focus the main body of the composition.Both of these productions are a clear indication of XI's creative flair and taste for new sounds. Allowing this to develop has been the primary focus of Orca and this ethos is now starting to pay dividends to all fans of the Orca Recordings catalogue.
