This 3 track EP comes from out of 3rd Party Records vault called Vintage Vol #3 and produced by Noise Factory. Each of these tracks represents the musik from rave scene back in the early 90s. A.Fire - This classic track produced by Noise Factory in 1992 highlights the merging of hardcore with jungle beats that were entering into the scene back than. Combined with a rock vocal sample of Sara speedy up to give that edgy feel with synthesized piano stabs and brief reggae/house samples and dominate drum patterns.
AA.All Crew - This track was made back in 1992 by Noise Factory and a game changer as it had a dominant reggae sample in the intro and mergers into the hardcore elements of that time. The term 'all junglists massive' can be heard and strong jungle breaks holding they own. This was when the musik was evolving into what was to be jungle. AAA.Set Me Free Remix - This track by Noise Factory made in 1992 and a remix of the original shows their versatility of moving hardcore into a new genre that was becoming so dominate. The stronger reggae samples speeded up and the ability to switch up the drum patterns and still have that hardcore feel was helping to push the scene and promote these jungle breaks coming through.

The time has come for Catnapp’s debut full length record on Monkeytown Records. Break follows last year’s EP Fear and No Cover single and sees Catnapp capturing the jawdropping energy of her live shows as well as further refining her characteristic blend of rap and heavyweight electronic beats. She challenged herself with exploring more complex emotions and subjects for this album, which is more than a collection of love songs, as she explains: „With so much happening in our world today, I feel incomplete telling only love stories. I want to give people inspirational tools that work like fuel. Songs that can make one hop out of a bad and complicated situation in order to move on and up with confidence.“

Catnapp is the guise of Argentinian artist Amparo Battaglia. Long before signing to Monkeytown in 2018, the Berlin based producer, singer/rapper and striking performer already (self-)released a couple of records full of boundless creativity and originality, taking whatever she needed from every electronic genre as well as pop and rap music. Amparo cites classic influences like The Prodigy, Aphex Twin, OutKast or Beyoncé, while her productions also draw from today’s post-internet and post-rap sounds. Break combines these diverse influences in a very distinct sound.

The album’s opening track „Down In The Basement“ is an ode to the underground, dealing with how to grow as an artist whilst staying true to your roots. You can take the artist out of the underground, but you cannot take the underground out of the artist. As she is playing big stages more frequently than gritty basement clubs, Catnapp tackles the beautiful contradictions of going her own way. Next up is „The Mover“ featuring Modeselektor, a slow burning, bass-heavy song about standing up for yourself and showing strength. It opens with the line „Don’t you tell me what to do“, an eternal credo for both Catnapp and Modeselektor, two generations of maverick electronic artists. „Fight For A Fight“ is inspired by the repression the LGBTQ community is facing all around the world. It came about when Amparo was invited to perform at the Pride March in Buenos Aires in 2018, its lyrics are aimed at supporting the ongoing fight against patriarchy: „My knife is sharp, my mind is bright, you’ll never stop my will to fight.“
Still, love and heartbreak are essential elements of Catnapp’s songwriting and thus appear in songs like „Thunder“, „Lengua“ and „Give It Back“. The latter is about leaving a toxic relationship behind and regaining control about one’s life. Musically, these tracks show Catnapp alternating fierce raps and booming beats with liquid R&B vocals and melancholic, dreamlike electronica.
Catnapp has been compared to electroclash artists like Peaches, her blend of modern rap and electronics may also evoke likeminded artist Tommy Genesis. There’s leaders and there’s followers – you already know which this girl belongs to. Break is no less than her most accomplished musical statement to date.

This 4 track EP comes out of Ibiza Records archive vault's called Archives Vol 5 produced by Low Block Noise in 1991 & EOAD in 1993. Each of these tracks represents hardcore and merging of jungle breaks starting to come through in the early 90s.

A. Rave in the Bedroom - This track produced by L.N.B made in 1991 has some great piano stabs and had a sample taken from 'The Young Ones' bbc2 sitcom as back then it was all about the big samples being used.
AA. Its Not Big & Its Not Clever - This track from L.B.N made in 1992 and has a classic sample taken from Robin Williams 'Good Morning Vietnam' film. The track has strong jungle breaks that were now a dominating presence at that time in the scene.
AAA. Love The Feeling - This track produced by E.O.A.D made in 1993 is more hardcore with the piano stabs offering a ravey anthem feel representing the warehouse scene. Which was dying out and Jungle was becoming the more dominant force.
AAAA. This track produced by E.O.A.D also made in 1993 and is a remix of the original with the hardcore elements offering a more raving anthem feel representing the warehouse scene back then.

Om Unit's Cosmic Bridge label returns with 'Dark Matter', its first compilation since 2017's 'Cosmology Selections', offering a fresh snapshot of the exciting possibilities and experiments happening at the intersection of hip-hop, jungle and bass music; a hybrid sound the label has pioneered since its first release eight years ago. Across 14 tracks, 'Dark Matter' showcases Cosmic Bridge's growing global roster of artists: Moresounds, Danny Scrilla, Proc Fiskal, Margari's Kid, Oliver Yorke, J:Kenzo, TMSV, vromm, alongside new faces Samba and Rude Operator, and perennial favorites Es.tereo, Synkro and Djrum, the latter two in collaboration with label head Om Unit. Dark Matter is a finely crafted statement of intent from Cosmic Bridge and Om Unit, shunning easy self-congratulation for a dive into the musical potentials and connections of a sound that is now an established part of the global bass music vocabulary.

Etch's 'Ups & Downs' album is a collection of dubs which date as far back as 2014 and up to the present day. The album's tracks are united by being examples of the artists' efforts to escape the shackles of reality by using music as a vehicle.

Fresh from the frontiers of modern jungle, Rupture returns with a monolithic EP from new-comer Mani Festo. The tightly textured breaks of 'Immortal' create the foundation for a set of stabs that will cut through even the foggiest dance floor; while 'Awake' balances a dreamy pad atop cascading percussion and a thick, rumbling bass line. On the flip, snatches of 808 claps flicker in the shadows of heavily crushed drums before a familiar sample of off-world blues noir flows across the entire operation in 'Hold the Line'' - a track that has earned a lot of attention since being on heavy rotation in Rupture residents' DJ sets. Finally, closing track 'Warehouse Theory' stacks disembodied organ riffs over driving breaks to round off Mani Festo's debut Rupture release.

With a decade of music already under his belt on legendary labels such as Metalheadz, Hospital/Med School, Utopia Music, Spearhead , Dispatch, V Recs/Liquid V and Symmetry, Villem is certainly no new kid on the block. Last years 'Playing The Changes' album (with McLeod) on Spearhead only further cemented his place in the hearts of fans of the soulful side of his production. Then of course he is also one half of the infamous 'The Vanguard Project' alongside BCee with a whole string of first class EP's and modern classics. The launch of Villem's own imprint 'MURKT' demonstrates another side to his already impressive productions.

The first MURKT release are both Villem built beats harking back to his formative years and ultimately his favourite period within Drum & Bass. Think mid to late 90’s dancefloor Drum & Bass, with funky, rolling drums and huge melodic basslines.

This isn’t a nostalgia trip though, these are tracks created for 2019’s DJs, produced with the combination of digital and analogue equipment, All Day E'ry Day and Shake Weight are full on bangers guaranteed to get a crowd reaction.

* The year is 1994 and the awesome combination of Flatliner & Ant Miles gave life to the infamous tracks ‘The Big Bang’ / ‘No Boundaries’. Release no 9 on RAM records tore up sound systems at every Rave in the country. A follow up was on the cards and ‘Flatline’ was born. Put to one side to make way for the Big Bang/No Boundaries remixes, somehow it never resurfaced again... until now!
* A similar story evolved for the A side ‘Just Stop’. A track made in the latter part of 1995, Flatliner comes with yet another amen monster, but this time taking things on more of a rolling Drum & Bass vibe. A golden nugget to own on vinyl for any true Jungle/Drum & Bass fan.

Alk-e-d is one of the longest standing Kniteforce artists, always bringing a perfect blend of dancehall, jungle and techno and mixing it into something fresh. His EP contains both the genesis of his style and some of his largest hits. Absolutely Flying was a cheeky release, the flip side to his debut 'selecta', which is included here via the epic Dj Ham remix. Meanwhile, his two jungle classics, 'Shine On Me' and 'Shining Bright' show two very different ways of approaching that genre, but both remain as fresh and current as they were in '94

his is a beautifully remastered, remixed and reimagined repress of the brilliant third release from Hyper On Experience. The original Moving Shadow version of this release featured three superb tracks that have all become definitive classics over the years. Here, they have been lovingly remastered and you get a bonus remix from Alex Jungle of Monarch of The Glen, one of my personal all time favourite Hyper On tracks.

Skanna was prolific during the early 90's and knocked out some of the most memorable tunes from that period in Jungle. This EP is one of the best from Skanna. This EP still has an incredible amount of "wants" on Discogs and the original still commands high prices. This 2018 reissue has been remastered and sounds even better than the original 12" vinyl!

The Trip released only a few releases during Kniteforce's heyday, one sided 10' colored vinyl's with a single track on each, always switching style and content. But they had a huge impact. Included on this remastered repress is The Erb, a certified jungle classic, The Snowball, one of the darkest amen driven drum'n'bass tunes from the early days, and The Crack, the finely tunes balance of technical and jungle and dark rhythms.
