Kniteforce and Just Another Label (owner of the Bear Necessities Sub Label) have been friends since the early 90’s, so when JAL wanted to remaster and repress some old and much sought after classic EPs, it was only natural for Kniteforce to take on that roll. Here we have the third of those EPs, and its another one that many have been looking to get hold of for a long time! A timeless old skool EP and one that has been high on many a collectors wants list for decades!

Jungletrain resident Trainspotter debuts on Vivid’s first black label
series release. Spaced out ambient pads, noisescapes, and sparse
percussion take you far out and bring you to a place entirely new and
yet somehow familiar. This series is dedicated to individual, abstract
conceptualizations of the jungle / drum n bass landscape, exploring
freedom from formulaic beats while taking you to the fringe of
160-170+ bpm music. Fading Train EP is a truly unique take on this and excellent for bringing a sense of space to busy mixes.

King Nightmare (1994), The Message (1993), Duckin' and Divin' (1992) and Asid (1991) make up the package. Desired State's second ever release was an EP on Strategy Records in 1992 just before the inception of Ram Records. I dont think i need to introduce Ellis Dee to you do I? You already know that he is the epitome of the word RAVE? That the EDM DJ’s of today wouldnt be doing what they are doing now if it wasnt for the hardwork and perseverance of this guy? But for those who don’t know, Ellis Dee first started DJing around 1980 on the REMA soundsystem in his neighbourhood of Hackney, London, playing Soul, Funk and Rare Groove. It was at this time his love of music blossomed but it didnt bloom until 1988, The Summer Of Love. The Summer Of Aciieeedddd!!! And that is where the name was born, Lysergic Acid Diethylamide, also known as Acid, also known as LSD, also known as Ellis Dee!

The second of the Ellis Dee Project reissues released by Vinyl Fanatiks and its a personal favourite of ours. The rawness of the production, the simplicity of the structure, the awesome use of samples… this is a pure rolling hardcore gem, a diamond that shines, 27 years after its creation.

Ellis Dee was never truly happy with the original mixdown of ‘Dance Factor’ back in 1992 as he was still learning the Notator program, so for this release he went back in and added a little extra bottom end to the mixdown. And as the original release was only a one-sided record (and we didn’t feel it would be value for money releasing a one-sided record!) Ellis Dee dusted off his Ellis Dee Project moniker and went in and created a fresh remix in the style of the 1992 Fantazia vibes, stepping back 27 years and putting himself back into the moment. A little extra bonus from Ellis Dee and his Project to you, the supporter of this repress.

Made using field recordings captured by Archiver on a trip to Japan in 2015, i&i Musik 002 is a two track Jungle release with layered breaks, 808 basslines & chopped up samples. “Jinja” meaning shrine in Japanese, uses recordings taken in & around the sacred Koyasan temple complex in Japan. A deep 808 sub bass backbone & classic breaks have been added to complete the picture on this unique amen roller. On the flip side, “Echo Park” combines snippets from a walk around Shinjuku Gyoen park in Tokyo, with it’s echoed announcements & footstep sounds, together with recordings taken from some of Wakayama’s temples & shrines. Layered classic breaks & an 808 bassline complete this distinctive track. Written & produced by Archiver & mastered by Loz at Fat As Funk. Individually lathe cut by Archiver & released as a limited edition run of 55 hand stamped & hand numbered 10” dubplates. An exclusively vinyl only affair, with no digital release.

After his sold out "Fight dem Back/Nu Gun" 12" in 2017, Sun People is finally back with a banger of an EP for Through These Eyes.

In the last years he crafted his very unique and distinctive style at 160 bpm, which he now fully expresses on the "Stumble & Grow EP". Successfully he combines the powerful rhythms of Footwork with the deepness of (old school) Jungle and spices everything with a hint of Detroit.

There's a thin line between doing the same thing over and over again and having a true signature sound, Sun People is demonstrating the latter perfect with these four tracks.

We start the journey with high energy and fast kicks on "It's Yours" before Sun People takes us to the hidden depths of "Stumble & Grow". The title track truly lives up to its name, the rhythm sucks you right in and lets you dive deeper and deeper as the track progresses.

The B-side opens with "Work", a naughty, bass-driven dancefloor anthem which is powerful and vigorously but funky and soothing at the same time. The EP closes out with "All Good", where Sun People deconstructs the best parts of old school Jungle and puts them back into a modern dancefloor monster with a very intense atmosphere.

This is Freebreak : an alliance between tribe datas and the break free spirit... Heard that long time ago on the Strange breaks from the Spiral tribe, anbd after ward with Kamehouse (Capsule) and after again with Cycloscotsch (Hokus pokus), or Rislo (Triphase)... This long tradition of beautiful « hard to sell records » leaded to some really nice mixes... and a sweet dance in parties.. Hopefully this record reaches his public because it's quiet courageous and deserve a true audience. Big up to all Freebreas makerz !

Here is another amazing old skool reissue from Underground Music. This time from a label setup in 1993 called “Faceless Productions”. This EP has 3 classic 90’s old skool tracks that have been recovered from the original DAT master! Sounds better than the original pressing due to the amazing work from Finyl Tweek with the mastering. With prices upwards of £100 to grab a copy of the original it was well worth a reissue to make it available at a reasonable price for all the Djs & collectors!

Irish label, Subtle Audio and Opposide Records, based in St Petersberg, Russia, proudly present the ‘Ecstatic Gloom’ collaboration release - a meeting of minds and styles from two labels firmly committed to the deeper and more experimental sounds of Drum & Bass. To celebrate 25 years of the label, Tearin Vinyl’s debut release ‘Brok Out/London Talk’ has been repressed on krome (silver!) 180 gram vinyl. Originally crowdfunded on Kickstarter in 2019, meeting it target in less than 24 hours!

DJ Krome & Mr Time take you back to 1994 with two heavy hitters that were heavily rotated back in the day. This is Jungle Music as it should be heard, written by two of the genres finest purveyors. It’s now 2020 and the Jungle scene paved the way for Drum and Bass, which has since spawned numerous other genres which built the foundations that have supported many of todays EDM producers.

These are the lost tunes that were due to be released via 'Persons Unknown' on Candidate Records. Re-engineered in 2019 by Syko & Mike Badger these tracks ‘UNDERGROUND MAYHEM’ & 'NEEDS MORE BASS are finally pressed, 27 years later but who’s counting! This will be on a full colour printed sleeve. Written and produced S. Mccutcheon, piano riff by R. Haigh.

Western Lore closes out the year with a special edition record, featuring a collection of unreleased tracks that have seen constant rotation in Dead Man’s Chest’s DJ sets over the last eighteen months.

Sampling an early 90s snippet of Fabio & Bukem (discussing the roots and inspiration of Jungle music), ‘Lo-Freq Soul’ sets the tone with shuffling half time grooves and morphing acidic bass tones before dropping into an eclectic collage of soul, reggae, and stepping breaks. The ‘Soundboy Version’ hones in on the outro rhythm of the original, offering a more subtle, rolling and progressive take on the low end groove.

Western Lore’s resident DJ Josimar makes a co-production appearance on the Ruffneck version of Haunted Dub; A machine gun assault of b-boy breakbeats, dancehall chants, saturated dub hits and rasping darkside tones. The ‘Rubadub’ version sees Dead Man’s Chest on a drunken dubwise flex, re-working the samples over a smoked out 70s bass riff, staggered percussion and skeletal 4/4 reggae kicks.

Welcome to 7th Storey Recollective, our new sister label dedicated exclusively to previously unreleased and re-issued classics from the 1990's! Kicking us off with our first offering are two incredible tracks from the man like Model (Intelligent Minds, Abstrakt Mindz, Liquid & Model & HLS).

Both produced in 1995, and previously unreleased, these tracks are true unearthed gems of the atmospheric jungle genre. On the 'A' side is 'Jupiter', an epic, ethereal track - featuring beautifully blissed-out atmospherics and razor-sharp drum work, sit back and prepare to be taken on a journey though the clouds... Turning to the 'B' side we find 'Surroundingz', clocking in at over 9 minutes this has a slightly darker vibe - with haunting pads woven into it's fabric of complex breaks. Pressed on 12" black vinyl, and complete with full colour sleeve designed by Model himself.

These two really need no introduction, as they have had many releases on some very credible record labels.

Madcap, co label manager of Creative Wax, is known for his nicely rolling style of production and 'Empire Dub' & 'Warning' fit that style just perfectly.
With releases on labels like Mac II, Good Looking and Soul Deep on his list, Elliott has gained a lot of respect throughout the scene.

DJ Trax is mostly known for his connection with Moving Shadow, releasing under the names Mixrace (alongside Paradox) and DJ Trax, but also has a list of great releases for other labels.

His two tracks, 'Alien Forces' & 'Can't Stop Won't Stop' show just how versatile Dave's style of production can be. It's an honour to have both of these legends finally representing Skeleton.

Pete Cannons first EP on Kniteofrce did stunningly well. His old skool sound, created the originl way using an Amiga and Akai samplers, obviously hit the sweet spot to become one of Kniteforces fastest selling releases to date.
