Many tracks signed to Joker Records used samples from popular US Hip Hop records such as Vanilla Ice's Ice Ice Baby and Busta
Rhymes's Bus-A-Bus. A sample from the main theme to Star Wars was cleverly reworked for the collaboration with Surburban Base
Records under the title Star Warz. This was a favorite intro tune for Ellis D for what seemed like an eternity in 1997."

The Hard Way are a full live band these days and we wrote the album with that being our main focus. An album to rock out live with but also divers enough to just listen to from a to z...

Some tracks on the album are 100% DJ friendly Dance floor stompers, others 100% Not.
A mix of Drum&Bass, Hardcore, Breakcore, Punk & Rock with BPM's ranging from 175 to 210.
Majority of the tracks are brand new but we also added new and improved versions of tracks like Devil Worshipping Motherfuckers & Pentagram of Coke and Suck Satan's Cock. Adding guitars en live vocals for instance.

Total Fucking Nihilism will be the 1st single of the album. We shot a pretty wild video for this track which will be coming out begin next week.

Xtrah delivers his 2nd release on Symmetry alongside Codebreaker in the shape of 'Lost time'.
On the flip he collaborates with label boss Break with 'Always New' and they bring in the vocal talents of DRS.

Playing a major role on both the 'Programmed V1.0' and 'Programmed V2.0' EPs, it was only a matter of time before EastColors released a full single with Program. Naturally, he's stepped up. And he's done so with two prize-fighting productions.
'Toys' is a one-way ticket to the furthest boundaries of the cosmos. Warm pads purr while a frosty arpeggio twinkles and subtle guitar strums shimmer softly in the background. An ageless reminder of how delicate certain elements of D&B can be when conjured in the right hands, 'Toys' will instantly arrest your crowd's imagination. Countering the dreaminess with raw bass drama, the beats and chubby subs ensure full weight and presence. Complete with a modest, memorable vocal refrain, it's the perfect balance of elements.

'Creeper' sets a much darker agenda: Opening with oceanic synth washes, an unrelenting breakbeat looms ominously in the mix. Firing hi-hats take the lead before we're plunged into a cavernous drop where layers of irresistible bass envelop us. What follows is an industrial strength roller of junglist proportions. Referencing the past to lock fully into the future, this is EastColors at his most chiselled and uncompromising.

This full vocal feature comes courtesy of Manchester's finest MC DRS, where he mixes his unique ability to rap and sing to great effect. DRS concerns himself with the topic of no more bullsh*t in his pursuit of creation and as the song says he 'Just can't take no more' Lenzman weaves a great instrumental for DRS to animate with subtle keys and musicality illuminating the beat.

Burner is Lenzman's ode to jungle with its stepping drums and rolling subs, its set against a backdrop of introspective pads and atmosphere that switch into gritty bass stabs and vox, just enough aggression to get you screwfacing.

Starz is a massive feel-good record- The soaring strings and confident keys both play off one another massively and thus creating a very rich landscape, heartfelt vocals come courtesy of Kevin King who really brings the track home with his fantastic vocal, oozing with class
* Move and Focus Feat Dan Stezo
In lenzmans own words: 'Dan Stezo has been my homeboy since day dot' and the pairing between the two is cemented by a shared love for hip hop that is very evident on this track, Stezo's distinctive low slung vocal adds huge character to Lenzman's production on the track.

* Returning for the second chapter, S.P.Y goes 'Back To Basics' and takes us deeper, darker and further underground with this uncompromising selection.

The Japanese producer Daisuke Tanabe is back on Ki for a full 15-track LP that will be released on a double 10' Vinyl. Tanabe was initially one of the first to contribute his music to the German imprint with the second release in the labels catalogue back in 2009. Some time has passed since then and the former Red Bull Music Academy participant has evolved even more and cemented his unique sound scape to a recognizable trademark. With his debut album - Before I forget', a few EP's, many Remixes and an album in collaboration with Kidkanevil as Kidsuke, he's now back for more on Ki. 15 tracks full of surprising twists and turns and genre defying sounds and rhythmic patterns. It was always hard to put Tanabe's production into one genre and it's not easier now. If you want to, you will definitely be able to put his music somewhere but you better listen closely and get lost in his incredibly deep and intelligent arrangements. It's an album that tells the listener a story. Which story that is It's solely up to the you.

* The 6th release for the emerging Addictive Behaviour label comes in the form of relative scene newcomers Handra - an exciting new duo hailing from Poland - who's dark, yet at points liquid tinged, minimal take on DnB hints that we will be hearing a lot of from these two in the future.

* The two cuts on offer, set for release on September 15th, combine a nice ear for melody and harmonic progression alongside top notch sound design and banging, uncomplicated, rolling dancefloor beats. Elements of found sound, lively up the compositions adding a unique twist to their tightly coiled, minimal old school referencing productions, with disembodied pitched vocal samples offering up almost Burial-esq moments of emotional nostalgia.

* Coat of Dust kicks things off in a sombre, reflective mood, with sun soaked piano riffs combining with a ping pong vocal sample, rhythmic foley and sound effects creating a moving backdrop for the tune to reside in. Warm, undulating slabs of classic 80s reese bass finally unite with a crisp, rolling drum track, peppered with unique sounding one-shots, clinical drum fills and techy bass fluctuations creating a nice juxtaposition of liquid and dark, minimal styles

*Stay Away starts life in a vat of natural ambience; the sound of passing cars and distant laughter are evident as the rat-a-tat-tat of jazzy rim-shots usher in the dancefloor ready 2-step beat whilst dubwise stabs ping away in the background. The tune drops into a looping, industrial smeared techy roller with modern bassline science cosying up to warm, affecting sub work and futuristic, alien sound effects, one-shots and classic sounding vocal samples. The minimal, loopy nature of the main sections are addictive and when combined with the tunes natural, found sound ambience and organic sound effects create a highly charged, humbly original darkstep number for the freshman class of 2014.
