Dub Phizix drops an exclusive-packed 40 track mix of DnB, halftime, hip hop and myriad bass-packed breakbeats for the latest in the FABRICLIVE series, featuring 22 unreleased songs 12 of which are Dub Phizix productions and collabs!

His music, described by Mixmag as 'essential material', has an irreverent edge, yet is deadly serious in its dancefloor approach, reflecting the character of the Manchester producer, born George Ovens. He has released on labels such as Exit, Soul:R, Critical, Samurai Music, Commercial Suicide, Dispatch, Ingredients and his own SenkaSonic, whilst his remix portfolio is also impressive, with reworks for Charli XCX, Netsky, Panjabi MC, Skittles, Chimpo, Basement Jaxx, Kelis, Breach, Sizzla and more. Playing regularly at fabric since 2011, his 'Well Good Do' with Strategy now hosts room 2.

'I first played fabric B2B with Stray for a Critical night and it felt like a real landmark for me, but by the end of the year I'd played three or four times. Even though it's been a while since I played there, room 3 has a great intimate feel because you're literally a foot from the crowd. One that I really enjoyed in there was early on. It was an Exit records night and it was heaving and I had loads of brand new tunes that no-one had heard. People were leaning over the decks taking pictures of the names of tunes of the CDJs. The next month I played there again and I had to change all the names of stuff I wanted to keep a secret so they couldn't do it. For about three months, my artist name on my CDs was 'Phil fuckin Collins' Since that time, fabric has become like a second home. They can't get rid of us till about 9am most times we're there. It's usually the cleaning staff who send us home! Nowadays I mainly play room 2. I've played all three rooms but the stage in room 2 is my favourite.' - Dub Phizix

FABRICLIVE 84 is in many ways a paean to Dub Phizix's hometown, bookended with tongue-in-cheek references to Manchester's 'Rainy City' moniker and closing with a tribute to the city from the poet Matthew David Scott. Bringing together the known and (as yet) unknown, the mix features 22 unreleased tracks, 12 of them Dub Phizix's own new productions. There are collabs with DRS, Skeptical, Xtrah, Chimpo and Strategy and specials and features from Chunky, Strategy and Ward 21. Cruising at a foot-to-the-floor 40 tracks per hour, the pace would border on relentless were it not tempered through smart selections of tempo and rhythm switches. The skill in introducing this broad selection of beats into a coherent and body moving mix is at the heart of this new FABRICLIVE set.

The Wire Magazine - "Chimpo is known as a larger-than-life figure at the heart of Manchester's scene, and on the title track here you can hear his preposterous scally-patois stream of consciousness that suggests he might be a kind of post-Flowdan successor to the likes of John Cooper Clarke, Mark E
Smith and Shaun Ryder. But you don't get onto dBridge's label just for funtimes lyrics and this shows him producing with classic EXIT crispness and starkness in the 85bpm/170bpm slowfast' zone. On Restless Leg Syndrome' and two collaborations with Fixate, he makes footworking jitter sound more English than anyone previously - thanks partly to virtuouso UK/Jamaican voice cut-ups - but it's Haymaker' that's the obvious showstopper, being essentially a dubwise remake of Schooly D's immortal PSK' with morphing bass, electrocution buzz and and rich rave pads.

An infamously quick-fire dj, as well as one of the most hotly tipped producers to date, Frankee is returning yet again with a single to further solidify his position.
Whether it's from a set played on the notorious Ibiza waterfront, or amongst a packed out, dimly lit stage in super club Fabric, you'll instantly recognise these refined cuts premiered over the last six months. Detonating a hard lined crowd at Drum & Bass Arena's Easter weekend, Power and Downtown are of two totally different flavours, yet still pull raw energy and emotion from dancefloors globally.
Featuring the vocal talents of Simon Franks, 'Downtown' demonstrates an ability to tap into a hugely diverse range of capacities. Fading between carefully textured breaks, as well as a cleverly distorted bass, it spans a hugely intricate composition. Fluctuating note patterns perfectly underpin slowly elevated synths; cutting open and laying bear the producer's depth. Working his more emotive soundscape 'Downtown' epitomises Frankee's versatility and his multidimensional approach to music making.
On the flipside, a much darker standard is set. Cut the lights and descend into the darkness with two hours of Hospital classics mixed by longstanding member of the Hospital team, Nu:Tone. Unearthed are the works of Hospital favorites (Nu:Logic, Lynx and S.P.Y), Med School experimenters (Royalston, Rawtekk, Anile, Bop and Joe Syntax) as well as prominent players Photek, Commix, Subwave, Enei and Stray.

The Binary Collective is dBridge, Kid Drama, Consequence & Joe Seven. The project was conceived in one studio, the Exit Records hub that's known as Rosie's Box.The album was written on hardware as opposed to software; a purposeful manipulation of machines. The creation process was a series of live 'jams' that pushed the machines as far as they could go in order illustrate the narrative that collective had in mind; a time where corporations control all our personal information.The album becomes a soundtrack for a future that we find ourselves hurtling towards whilst we are distracted by so called modern world entertainment, It's timely message by The Binary Collective.

* Shogun's explosive start to the year continues with the arrival of more heavy artillery from Joe Ford. Having hoodwinked us all several months ago with the leftfield sounds of 'Off Centre', here he comes full circle with an array of drum & bass designed to hit us wear it hurts.

* Joe explains, 'the goal of this new EP was to play a little bit with the normal limitations that I set myself, keep the tunes at 172bpm but switch up the rhythms and layout of the sounds so that this piece of work would stand out from the from others.'

* Like a call to arms, Joe kicks off with the militant sounds of 'All Of Us', a track that sees him pushing the levels to the extreme with its manic riff of pitched up drums pushing ferociously through the mix. Impossible to forget this one in a hurry.

* 'Snares' opens with a definite air of 80's melancholy that lulls us before an absolutely heinous drop that sees Joe drawing on his metal sensibilities for an outrageous slice of drum and bass.

* Shifting even further up the gears comes 'Crossbreed', an enormous collaborative effort with the mighty Icicle in attendance. 'We had this 16 bar switch up thing going on, a lot of the time we were just sharing techniques messing around on Logic, somewhere in the middle a tune got written! I remember us saying we weren't going to go too hard with it....guess that didn't workout!'

* Finally the bouncing, sci-fi funk of 'VE3' completes the impressive set, rolling out as one of Joe's most epic floor fillers to date. Pure, big room vibes through and through. Simply huge.

With seven more days until this conundrum of genre cross-pollination and production ingenuity is unleashed, here's a small appetiser to prepare yourself for an eclipse, caused by June Miller's vast capabilities. 'Chain of Strength' is an introduction which hits you with wave after wave of seismic bass-driven impact. Lead unsuspectingly from a lulling piano intro, straight through a chasm of smashing, hardcore-reminiscent percussion and driving drums, it proves the duo's endless versatility. Alongside a building break that literally pulses with anticipation, that first drop leaves you free-falling into an explosion of tightly intricate composition. * 'After a lot of hard work and long days and nights in the studio, I am very proud to present my debut album 'Obsolete Medium'. Being honest, I was struggling for the last few years by trying to write a certain type of music that I thought people were expecting of me, and consequently not making much progress. I took a conscious decision to let the tunes develop organically and not try to force their direction. What resulted is a very naturally constructed collection of music reflecting my wide range of influences - punk drum fills, techno basses, dusty white noise and neon synths - whilst not heavily mirroring anything too obviously specific, and eschewing many of the cliches of modern dance music production. All the while, not taking the process too seriously and not being afraid to poke fun at myself and the traps of being an electronic music producer. I'm really happy to have a some of my friends on here with me including Breakage, Sam Binga, Hyrogliphics and long time sparring partner Phace. Shouts to you guys. I think that if you have found anything in my production, from the early days of 'Stowaway Dub' to 'Childhood Memories' to more recent tunes like 'Detroit', there should be something on the LP that will strike a chord with you.

And so we present the first solo music adventures from Fis. A Wellington, New Zealand native bred on a healthy diet of musical discovery and deep research into the deconstruction of rhythmic templates. His music has created it's own universe rumbling just outside any genre it comes close to. After passing a CD early in his musical development to Presha in the Samurai Record Store, Fis has gone on to develop a style that has caught the ear of names like dBridge, ASC, Synkro, Consequence, Loxy, Indigo, Ulrich Schnauss and Resident Advisor. RA were so dazzled by what they heard in an introductory mix from Fis on dBridge's Rinse FM Show they sought him out and featured him in a 'Breaking Through' article -. This piece
served as a powerful warning to the world of what was on the horizon, and could very well be the only interview with Fisfor some time. The first musical release from Fis came via 2 collaborations with New Zealand's Tokyo Prose on the first ever Samurai Horo 10" (Samurai Horo001) but this will be his first solo release. We are very proud to present this, the 'Duckdive' EP as a considered introduction to a world that needs another true artist with an unconventional and totally individual approach. We will leave the adjective adventures to the professional wordsmiths, it's obvious this music is furtive ground for lengthy discussion which we look forward to as the rest of the world discovers these magical creations. Quaking with every drum roll, it's a techy thumper which propels you through on steroids. A fresh cut elaborating on the producer's impeccable standards, this single is undeniably fierce. Just as intimidating is the double
AA side '2 Stroke'. A pounding riddim underpinned by a bassline that reverberates through, it's gradually built upon with a clanking cowbell before breaking into a synth like structure. Demonstrating a complexity which bares its teeth, whilst being indisputably intricate, Audio presents a flipside worthy of its predecessor.

* The Wolf
Half time psychedelic roll out business from the pair, it's the perfect intro to the release. Dark and foreboding and strictly made for big systems, a very welcome return.

* Spiral
Spiral has touched of Detroit techno soul to it with its synth sweeps and stabs. A great mixing tool with its shuffling breaks, head nod central. The track remains massively interesting through its course as the subtle carriers come to life.

* Mosquito
Closing the release we have Mosquito, a reese laden dubbed out killer. Dubzilla era style takes the lead on this one, dark and yet retaining the famous funk they're known for.

The darkness descends once again when Necrotype drops 'The Stranger' onto our innocent ears with brain searing hoover stabs lashing forth during the intro joining rugged jungle breaks, ominous bass growls and dialogue borrowed from a certain infamous kidnap/revenge movie. Watch out for the mentasmic drop in the latter third. It's a killer!!!

KeeZee comes in correct with 'Renegade Junglist'. A heavyweight amen assault complete with intricate breakbeat edits, moody bass throbs, snippets of classic ragga chanting plus female vocal sighs and atmospheric synths and strings . A tearing piece of percussive craftsmanship to please all serious jungle and drum & bass headz.
