Dusty Kid's third album is a cinematic experience of almost 2 hours listening conceived as a single piece of music, like a wall of bricks that strictly belong to each other to give the whole album a well defined story.The album, mixed by using few different vintage consoles and recording everything on a reel-to-reel tape in order to get a more alive and lofi result, moves towards a very underground feeling.There are no easy-listening melodies (don't expect in fact any "America" or "Lynchesque", any "Kore" or "Chentu Mizas") but it rather sounds like a saga of dirty, confused, delirious, sometimes bizzare and ridiculous, very dark techno moments.
"III" might remind of a noir-horror-fantasy movie to watch with eyes closed and where the listener is the main character who can play like in a 'shoot-em-up game made of many levels. The sinister calm of the opening, made of the leftfield acid ambient landscapes and industrial noises of the first 4 tracks, preannounces that something is going to happen and leads the listener into a further level of the game where entrance is initially restrained by a man at the door "He Won't Let You In".
Once got through listener is taken onto a further level and enters the "Leather Bears Cinematic Suite".The 5-tracks "suite" is a deep journey into the 90's techno with its first track "Doom" being an almost metallurgical hell as the listener climbs the stairs that will lead him into the main scene. From now on what the listener will see is just what he would expect to see there...the title of the "suite" says it all! "Pandemonium" and "Dark Room" really seem to drive the listener inside a wonderfully painted idea of what's going on in there.
As the listener takes the "Exit 12", that with its lofi and dark mix perfectly describes the feeling after a night spent in the "suite" and echoes of "Flashback" from the previous night still echoing in his confused and distorted mind, the journey goes even more deeply into the 90's techno. "Yota Wave" is in fact a skillfully grotesque recreation of a futuristic techno trance experimentalism of the early Plus-8 records. Level after level listener goes on in the game and while "In The Wood" sounds like a track recorded from the radio with a poor quality cassette, the triad "Prelude"-"Omega Y" and "Omega X" just seems to be a track coming out from another track which comes from another track like in a concentric way."Escape" follows in the same key as the previous triad with a flying ethereal athmosphere followed by a massive tribal anthem as "Idklip" explodes while the listener approaches the final level of the game."Ending", a simple pronounced piano note that lays on a tender carpet of soffused strings and far reverbs leads the listener to the light at the end of this journey.

Sequencias number 10 should give anyone unfamiliar with the label a good idea of what we're about. Three very different artists have given us three very different tracks—collectively forming a sort of manifesto. Experimentation, rhythm and reflection are all given equal weight on this record. As with everything we present, it is all in the service of expressing the flawed and the human.

Nick Lapien returns once again as Metropolis, starting off the EP with the miniature epic "Balefire". Just shy of ten minutes, the beatless undulating cypher flows and fluctuates, its tangle of vibrating arpeggiated melodies whip about gaining momentum, falling into the ether. Brooklyn's Shawn O'Sullivan comes through with "Corypha", a straight up club track showcasing some well-crafted modular treacle over a tough brokenbeat. Mathematics affiliates Echo 106 close out the compilation with the meandering Chicago-facing "Withered Leaves". Tried and true box work merely sets the stage here with haunting melodies at the forefront, floating towards a swell of doleful synths as an emotional coda.

Good Stuff House couldn't be more aptly named if they tried. This trio of Scott Tuma along with Zelienople's Matt Christensen and Mike Weis has been conspicuously absent for a while, but this reissue of their untitled debut serves as a reminder of their potency. Americana is a term that gets tossed around often, but in these dusty hollows it gains meaning. Translucent tones hover in empty space, trembling as they hesitantly coalesce. Folk axioms are broken down into dust so they can be woven back into something new, something beautiful.

hristelle Gualdi's second vinyl release as Stellar Om Source from 2011. The LP compiles little masterpieces from the same time period when her acclaimed "Trilogy Tapes" collection was released. With influences ranging from new age to experimental electronic music Christelle creates a wonderful and carefully layered album.

With an artist roster as prolific and well-established as Kompakt's, you won't find much downtime that could be used for new entries to the catalogue. That's why we are especially happy to not only present the inaugurating full-length of VERMONT, but also introduce two distinguished producers to the fold that have built their impressive careers in our immediate vicinity, albeit appearing on the label for the very first time: Innervisions' MARCUS WORGULL and DANILO PLESSOW (of MOTOR CITY DRUM ENSEMBLE fame), two floor familiars praised for their gripping club tunes that showcase a surprisingly unwound and novel side to their respective artist personas.

With VERMONT, MARCUS WORGULL and DANILO PLESSOW submit a noticeably mature work that seems to come from a well attuned production duo, effectively concealing the fact that this is their first collaborative effort... and a decidedly informal one at that: these cuts were not conceived with specific aesthetic goals in mind, but emerged from a series of loose jam sessions disclosing the trespassing spirit of the sonic adventurer. It's in the sanctum of Danilo's former Cologne studio, surrounded by an armada of vintage analogue synthesizers, that the two music buffs somewhat inadvertently tapped into the city's collective subconsciousness and minted fourteen sleek soundscapes of almost krautrockish proportions.

Im Oktober dieses Jahres präsentierte Kompakt UNTIL THE END OF TIME (KOMPAKT 288 CD111), das neue Album von Hiroshi Watanabe aka KAITO und das Ende einer langen Dürreperiode für Fans des erfahrenen Produzenten, die dessen letztes reguläre Release AND THAT WAS THE WAY (KOMPAKT 208) vor drei Jahren begrüßen durften. Wie bei Hiroshis früheren Alben sind wir hocherfreut, eine spezielle "Beatless"-Version der LP ankündigen zu können - unter dem Titel LESS TIME UNTIL THE END wirft dieses ein neues Licht auf das originale Werk.

Tomorrow We Sail is a group of seven musicians, based in Leeds, UK. Formed in 2009 they have spent the past four years developing their sound into what is now a vast landscape of billowing, reverb-soaked guitars, orchestral strings, piano, organ and multi-layered vocals.

Folk, slowcore, neo-classicism, minimalism, ambience, and post-rock are all apparent in the vast and winding soundscapes Tomorrow We Sail create. The music is slow-burning, creeping quietly into consciousness, the sonic terrain covered ensures the listener is held through a constantly moving orchestrated cavern of sound, with earnest melodies and harmonies drifting and falling all around.

After self-releasing their debut EP, 'The Common Fire', in 2010, the band retreated back to their studio to further develop and refine their sound as their line-up evolved, enabling the band to incorporate an ever expanding roster of instruments. With the line-up solidified, the band released two singles, 'The White Rose' in November 2011, followed by 'For Rosa' in May 2012.

October 2012 saw Tomorrow We Sail embark on their first tour of the UK & EU, playing both headline shows and supports with bands such as Caspian, Last Harbour and Ef, culminating in an appearance at the The London International Festival of Exploratory Music at Kings Place.

Over the past three summers, Tomorrow We Sail have taken to the stage at festivals across the UK, including Kendal Calling, Tramlines, Sheep Music, Landed & Galtres, as well as contributing tracks to the independent feature film 'Broken Roads', released in September 2012 in cinemas across the US and winner of Best Motion Picture and Best Director at the American International Film Awards.

The band have just completed the recording of their debut album which is set for worldwide release in February 2014.

Zerbrechlichkeit von Schönheit', wie Jules schlicht beschreibt. Eine Musik, diekaum mehr als Ambient oder experimentelle Klangkunst bezeichnet werden kann,
sondern viel eher als eine poetische Annäherung an Musik, das Leben und den Klang selbst zu verstehen ist. Mit - Beautyfear' legt Marsen Jules einen

Jar Moff returns with his second full length, 'Financial Glam', a follow up expanding on ideas first presented by the excellent 'Commercial Mouth' debut LP PAN released earlier this year.
Continuing with themes established on his previous 'Commercial Mouth' LP, 'Financial Glam' reflects the flux and tension of his home city, a gripping opus of grandiose crescendo and collapse,
broken rhythm and disquieting calm. These intricately composed collage works, constructed from hundreds of archived samples, provide a fitting and highly personal soundtrack to austerity in
the shadow of empire. The craft hints at a year's worth of meticulous assembly and industry; the
album title hints at a biting critique of the circus outside. The combination of Jar Moff's technique, ear and unique perspective on, and proximity to, one of the defining stories of our era makes this release a truly important work.A side 'Financial Glam' and builds with growing fanfare and unease, the malaise occasionally
tamed by sublime stabs of synth and rhythm.B side 'Kresentosiagona' (translation: 'Crescendo of the Jaw') is characterized by a complex rhythmic treatment of individual orchestral samples. The perpetual escalation of the instruments
begin to form a fragile and perilous platform over time, it's fragile movements and majesty ever close to the crash.

Kouhei Matsunaga's 'Dance Classics Vol.III' is the continuation of his ongoing development of his more dance oriented material, as seen from his sets with Sensational and also his other minimal
techno project NHK. Not feeling tied down to one genre, Matsunaga nestles in the PAN roster, and however that isn't to say that he is dance per se as witnessed from his recent collaborations with Conrad Schnitzler. The album focuses more on bass/base electronics, music for the dancefloor and/or altered state reflection. Having composed pieces for WDR based on Henry Chopin, Kouhei is equally at ease jamming with Sensational, whilst simultaneously executing a obsessively
numerical sequence of dance pieces that borders on Hanne Darboven-like compulsivity. Born in Osaka, Kouhei Matsunaga is a musician and an illustrator. He started drawing during
childhood under the influence of his grandfather. He grew up listening to hardcore- techno and hip hop, studied architecture and has been mainly making music since 1992. Under many different aliases (NHK, NHKyx, Internet Magic, Koyxen) he has released numerous albums on labels such as Skam Records, Wordsound, Raster Noton and his first ever album 'Upside Down' on Mille Plateaux in 1998. He has also collaborated with artists like Merzbow, Jungle Brothers' Sensational, Autechre's Sean Booth, Mika Vainio, Conrad Schnitzler, Anti Pop Consorium's High Priest, Rudolf Eb.er, Puppetmastaz crew, Asmus Tietchens, Ralf 'RLW' Wehowsky and so on. His own label Flying Swimming was founded in 2002 with the main purpose being to publish and curate events of experimental contemporary music and art.

Hospital Productions return with their first release of the year, a heavy 30-minute session of layered drone and tormented, bass-heavy bombast from Max Gudmunson's Virile Games project, now available on vinyl for the first time after a sold-out micro edition of cassettes in 2013. Operating somewhere between his label-mate Lussuria's gothic ambience, the ear-bleaching concrète of Helm, and the more blown-out cinematic visions of Leyland Kirby, 'Wounded Laurel' oscillates between sublime and wretched with a gripping night-time narrative. Opener 'Death And Rebirth Of Adonis' sets the scene with a distant arrangement of what sounds like strings recorded straight to tape before the sodden expanse of rumbling bass and tangled percussion in 'Nailed To The Living Heart...' gives way to a metronomic series of heavy, rumbling bass-drops that recalls Pan Sonic at their heaviest - think of 1999's incredible 'Voima' for a
reference point. 'Firmament' allows some light in with a beautiful passage of wilting strings, before 'Steel Church' brings to mind the fragmented percussive treatments of recent material by Nate Young.

Als einer der Ersten hatte LOHMANN den frühen Ambient-Sound von Kompakt mit seinen unvergleichlich sanften Klanglandschaften entscheidend mitgeprägt. Seine beiden zum Heulen schönen Stücke PCC und SICHT klingen, als wäre er nie weg gewesen. Zum Glück.

Ebenfalls eine gewisse Art von Wiedersehen feiern wir mit THE BIONAUT. Unter diesem Alter Ego produzierte JÖRG BURGER schon Anfang der 90er unvergessene Hits wie "Everybody's Kissing Everyone" oder das auf dem EMI-Sublabel Harvest erschienene Album "Lush Life Electronica". Der neue TRIOLA MIX des Stückes AQUAMARINE von 1992 gibt mit echtem Gitarren- und Gesangseinsatz einen vielversprechenden Vorgeschmack auf das im Frühjahr auf Kompakt erscheinende neue TRIOLA Album und die BEST OF BIONAUT Kompilation auf Kompakt Klassiks.

COLOGNE TAPE ist eigentlich ein in die Neuzeit halluziniertes Kraut-Elektronik Allstar Live-Projekt. Icelandic band Bloodgroup have had their powerfully crafted brand of electronic music playing on our stereo on repeat ever since the February release of the Tracing Echoes Album on Sugarcane. After almost two years since his last full release, Ghost Mutt makes a long awaited return to Donky Pitch for the four track 'Rumble Pak' EP on November 18th. Further advancing his R&B leaning club productions with influences from dancefloor driven sounds from across the globe - the Rumble Pak EP retains the signature bass, funk and synth from previous releases and turns up the heat with extra jungle breaks, jersey club and grime for a tough set of dancing music. Ghost Mutt first appeared on Dutch label Lowriders in 2010, he then released Platinum Skull and Thoroughbred as part of a split release with Slugabed to kick off the Donky Pitch label followed by the critically acclaimed 'Sweat Mode' EP in early 2012. Since then he has remixed both Lockah and ARP 101 x Elliott Yorke, receiving heavy rotation on BBC Radio 1 as well as playing Glade festival, holding down his residency at the Donky Pitch club night and going on a tour of Australia.

Origo means beginning in Latin and marks the point where two coordinates meet. It is also the name of Lisa & Kroffes debut EP. The four tracks got created during improvisation sessions in the small Stockholm apartment where the married couple lives. The music were originally composed for live purpose but during the recording sessions the tracks organically grew into something new and unexpected. The music spans between dark hypnotic drones and light airy melodies. very much in a Tangerine Dream vein!

Lola's World Records labelled album series Harem's Secret release the third album of the serie . True to its name, the first CD of the album is called Medication: it is where Near Eastern sounds further glazed with Western elements and haunting vocals melt in together to blow out a healing soundscape for the soul. CD: 2

Another set of prolific remixes of the Belgian Red Stars Over Tokyo. His 'Building Houses' has been re-imagined by Machinefabriek as a heavily sound-based piece that escapes easy definition. The remix has an improvised flow and a very natural feel to it. The track sets its own limits but crosses them time and again. A languid melody line on top gives a sense of emotional direction, but its rhythmic energy hints at the track being stuck in an echo chamber, whilst bouncing off the walls and off itself. Vindicatrix delivers two remixes of 'Building Houses'. His informed idiosyncrasy dwells through these two tracks, linking them to the darker side of Techno, UK Bass and post-rave culture. Both tracks have a broken feel to them, delivering their message in jolts and bouts, whilst ending things up with a strong sense of ecstatic relief.
