The product of an old friendship between Akatana and Ombossa, this is an album that has been written after the two artists lost touch for nearly 20 years.
We met at 3 years old and were the closest friends until early teenage, we then lost touch completely until recently when I moved out of Montreal to Berlin, where Akatana lives. We
now are flatmates and friends again after this long hiatus. It happens that we both followed a path to producing electronic music, even tho playing music was not a thing at all for us at
that time. Each of our separate lives somehow brought to this common ground. This happy hazard inspires us.'

The album is written at 84bpm because we were both born in 1984 and the tracks are named after the lexis of the heart. Myocarde is the muscle of the heart, in french.

London's Warriors Dance label was a unique operation and a pioneering London label during the late 80's acid house phenomena. Home to an assortment of DJs, MCs and soundmen, they went on to make their own original and indelible mark on the rave scene from the infamous 'Addis Ababa' studio on Harrow Road on the North-West side of the city. A former reggae and soul studio that was instrumental to the output of influential artists like Soul II Soul and more, a steady diet of reggae, bass, hip-hop, house and techno kept their edgy, and diehard UK sound and style right at the cutting edge of the dance music underground across the globe with the top DJs and producers of the day celebrating the label. The studio, helmed by label owner Tony ‘Addis’, acted as an incubator for artists whose names would go down in the history books.

Melancholy Man was a name synonymous with the crew, a name with a lot of weight, considering it was one of many of Tony Addis himself's production nom de plume's employed when behind the boards. 'Precaution' is that WD rawness, driving break-beat warehouse business with a massive dose of euphoria, the way it should be done. Included here are the original mixes from the 1991 OG 12", but as an added bonus, there is an unreleased, taken from Tony Addis' DAT archive mix that has never seen the light of day. That's 4 different mixes of this stormer that will fit into versatile DJ sets, straight from the source!

The EP is presented again. No edits, no remixes, just the pure unadulterated WD vibe, featuring original label artwork tweaked by Atelier Superplus and lovingly remastered by Optimum Mastering, Bristol, UK. The B side invites Sid Quirk, who recently featured on BP009 under other alias Keppel, this time with his 88bpm haunting original vocals, packed between dark percussions and twisted soundscapes on "B_F L_R", on the Hessle feel. Closing up the release, the B2 welcomes back Filip Szostak to the fold, this time bringing a drum heavy breakbeat DJ Tool that closes proceedings with energy and a suited transition for shifting moods on the dance floor. Formed in Brixton in 2006, afrobeat band Yaaba Funk have released two albums with Sterns Music and performed numerous acclaimed live shows — including support slots for Seun Kuti and Ebo Taylor.

Rapidly rising star Danvers (also of Kassian) takes the infectious energy of 'Oman Foa' into a triumphant new direction, with one of his broken beat rhythms at its core — recalling his big summer track 'Aye Ata' which received heavy support from the likes of Gilles Peterson and Midland. With a succinct arrangement that lets the joyous brass and powerfully harmonised vocals shine potently, it's a feel-good party music that works wonders when deployed at the right place and time.

'Hwe Hwe Mu Na Yi Wompena' is Yaaba Funk's cover of the Ghanian highlife singer K. Frimpong and his Cubano Fiestas' irresistible 1977 track, which Ben Gomori strips back into two instrumental-focused versions. His 'Message Of Love Edit' is a summery, housey flip with trumpets mutated into synths and the bass pumped up with chunky distortion, while his 'Message Of Love Live Dub' zones in on the live grooves with just a little extra embellishment.

Sterns Edits is an official collaboration between African music stalwarts Sterns Music and London's Ben Gomori.

His 2nd full Knitebreed EP continues to build on his legacy, with a strong underground vibe and deep bass lines. Like his label mates, Ant To Be and Wislov, TNO has a wonderful old skool feel, made more remarkable by the fact that TNO, at 18 years old, is really too young to be this talented. "Eradicating Deviants" tricks you into thinking a full happy anthem is about to happen before bringing the darkness, while "Oneirology" is a more uplifting slice of proper old skool that would have been perfectly at home on Homegrown Records back in the day. “Exitus Letalis” keeps to a similar vibe with a lovely traditional sound, and the whole EP is rounded off with the stunningly beautiful, if titley challenged, "Mendacium & Spem"!

Part six of Hivern Discs' Fragments compilation. While compilations tend to look backwards, 'Fragments' is far from being a retrospective. Since its launch in 2008, Hivern Discs has favoured a documentary approach, capturing the most vital and exciting sounds within its orbit at each particular moment. In keeping with the ethos of the label, this extensive compilation, comprising 29 new tracks across six 12?s, offers a panoramic glimpse of Hivern's present and gives indications as to its near future. The artists featured comprise both fresh and familiar faces; some of them have been a foundational presence since the beginning (John Talabot, Pional, Marc Pinol), others are recent acquaintances (Epsilove, Fantastic Man, Inga Mauer, Samo DJ). Wolff Parkinson White's typisches Maschinengewehr–Feuer aus manipulierten Audio–Splittern steht hier in krassem Kontrast zu der Wärme der menschlichen Stimme. Seine erste EP–Veröffentlichung auf Nonplace bedient sich an vergleichsweise bekannten Liedstrukturen und beantwortet die Frage, wie ein Projekt von Björk und Venetian Snares klingen würde, wären sich beide jeweils der Nachteile diatonischer Monotonie und der endlosen harmonischen Wüste bewusst.

Die 6 Tracks der EP wurden von Labelchef Burnt Friedman persönlich von den 13 Album–Tracks ausgewählt. The Belgian party organisation and record label De:tuned presents the final outing of their 10 year anniversary vinyl series. "DE:10.10" kicks off with a trippy Plaid remix of Humanoid's "sT8818r" track. The remix provides some more 3AM rave pressure for those sweaty basement parties. Erik Van Den Broek aka Shiver follows with a previously unreleased mix of "Primerose", an emotive late night acid track that was released on the 5 Years De:tuned box set in 2014. The B-side offers "Formulate", music straight from the soul produced by the physical embodiment of UK emotive techno and one half of B12, Steven Rutter. Lone completes the series with "Dream Ache", an exclusive track that graced Rustie's BBC Radio One Essential Mix back in 2012, finally pressed on wax.

Kevin Foakes (Openmind, DJ Food, Ninja Tune) created all the graphic work. Mastered by Matt Colton at Metropolis Mastering. This 12" is pressed on 180 gr vinyl and is housed in a detailed silver foil sleeve to celebrate "10 Years De:tuned". Stay tuned!

Bluff Records back at it!

After reissuing the first Voy-E EP, obviously the same had to happen with this one. Originally released in very limited quantities back in 2001, this is the second and only other Voy-E EP that has ever seen the light of day. It came out on 12” via Hoodwink Records, and was one of the last releases the label put out before shutting down. Due to its scarcity, the record has been selling on the second-hand market for crazy money (over £140!).

This EP (like the last one) is a product of the Florida Breakbeat scene which was pretty big across the US during the mid to late 90s – a scene in which the original label was heavily involved. The tracks have been sourced from the original master CD thanks to Hoodwink Records’ owner, and have been re-mastered and cut by The Exchange.

It took 3-4 months to track these guys down last year. Bluff Records finally reached the original label owner on LinkedIn - of all places - after trying many other avenues. They had no idea that the Voy-E EP’s were in such high demand and were absolutely stoked about doing the reissues.

Both Voy-E and the original label owner still live in the states in North Carolina, and haven’t done anything music related in nearly two decades. It really means a lot to them that people are still enjoying their work.

Helsinki´s own underground powerhouse duo Trevor Deep jr. collaborates with young Berlin based and Korean born producer Wewerka. Flavourfull four-track ep is titled “KINDRED”.
Opening track “4 The Ladies” is paying homage to warehouse parties. Raving stabs and vocal samples screaming to start a riot. Followed by the second track Namu, pure deep house music inspired by breakbeats. B-side opener ”Nuna” displays the soulfull side of the producers, where African singer Nanghiti provides beautiful vocal foundation for Magic Manfred´s funk on the live bass. I guess you can call it Detroit soul.
Last track ”Spirits” is driven by soul sampled breakbeats and heavenly synths, transcending you to new hights.
A kindred spirit: ”Someone who you share a mutual meaningful connection with. Kindred spirits will encourage each other to develop as people and offer positive energy to each other.” That´s exactly what this record is all about.

Seven Hills is pleased to be reissuing 3 sought after tracks from Glyn Bush's mid 90s side project Airgoose, perhaps better known as part of Brummie dub/reggae-techno group Rockers Hi-Fi, Outernational Wah shot up in price recently following a resurgence in its popularity symptomatic of the current trend of digging old obscure records. Extreme amounts of sleaze on this dusty, strange deep house track, with some very unique production make Outernational Wah a timeless dance-floor bomb, finally getting the recognition it deserves. The flip side, Programmable Rhythmer (Top Gear Mix) is taken from the only other record made under the Airgoose alias, similarly weird, raspy synth lines and a deep plodding groove.
